Kevin laid Eddward gently on the bed and watched nervously as the smaller teen slowly removed his neck brace. A relieved smile reached Eddward's lips as he rubbed where the brace once sat. it had been a month and a half since his injuries. A month of awkward conversations with Kevin, a month of modeling for Marie, and a month if Eddy, Nazz, and Ed suffocating him with their mother like love. When Kevin proposed the trip out to Sam's Eddward desperately yelled out his approval. It had been so long since he had been alone with Kevin. And he needed some fresh air.

" Are you sure?" The redhead asked while he repositioned himself above Eddward. His arms held desperately to the raven haired teens hips. Eddward smiled sweetly before slowly lifting his head and kissing Kevin lightly on the lips.

"Of course silly." Eddward answered Kevin. The redhead smiled and kissed the smaller teen on the noise.

"I'll take my time, but let me know if we need to stop." Eddward nodded nervously in response. Kevin's voice sounded so deep and the teen could feel his need grinding against his leg as he watched the redhead remove his shirt. Kevin leaned back down and sprinkled light feathery kisses up Eddward's collarbone.

"You are so beautiful." Kevin said his voice husky with obvious want. Eddward smiled and threw his arms up to wrap around the redhead teen. He had momentarily forgot about his injuries. Pain trickled through his spine and his arms immediately fell back to his sides.

"Ow, Ow, ow. not now." Eddward sighed while he watched Kevin pull himself off. This wasn't the best timing to be injured. Kevin walked to the bathroom and returned with water and a little white pill Eddward recognised. The teen quickly put his hand out and slowly brought himself to a sitting position. The pills were always so hard for the small teen to swallow, so he had been avoiding them. This was his downfall right now. "Kevin, I'm sorry." Kevin let his green eyes scan the teen as he laid on the bed with the remote snug in his hands.

"For what?" The redhead asked confused. Eddward laid back down with some assistance from Kevin.

"For ruining the moment." The redhead chuckled before standing up and removing his pants. The bigger teen slinked into bed and cuddled close to Eddward. A blush covered the brunette.

"You didn't ruin anything. we have loads of time for me to rock your world." Kevin answered as he wiggled his eyebrows and turned on the tv. "I'm just happy that there's an us finally." Eddward smiled and let the words us ring around his throbbing head.

"Does that mean?" The raven teen asked. Kevin smiled and laid on his side to face Eddward.

"That your ass is mine?" The small teen smiled bigger. "You bet it is, and your stuck with me Eddward Marion Vincent." The said teen giggled unsure if it was from the feeling Kevin was giving or if it was from the pain medication swirling in his head. He didn't care. Both teens sat happily in bed. Eddward couldn't believe how perfect this day was. Neither could Kevin. It wasn't India l the same. Soft snoring filled the room and Kevin looked over at the boy he could finally call his.

"Thank god for elephants." The redhead said aloud before placing a small kiss on Eddward's temple.

Earlier that day

Blue eyes watched in delight as Kevin and Tori played happily together. Eddward sat in Brent's chair next to Sam.

"You look rather nice today." Sam commented to Eddward who winced in response.

"Thank you Sam, however; I feel the bruise covering half my face and the neck brace are less than charming." Sam chuckled and rocked a bit while sipping some hot tea.

"Gives you character." She answered proudly. Eddward smiled and nodded a bit before placing a finger over his already slightly scared lip.

"I think Max may have gave me a bit of permanent character on my lip." The brunette sighed and reached for his own glass of tea. It sucked having to rest all the time. Eddward wanted to play with Tori as well, but doctors orders. No physical activity. Now the teen knew how Eddy and Ed have felt all these years dealing with Eddward while they were sick or hurt. Another sigh left his still swollen lips as Eddward caught sight of his reflection the window. "I look like a blueberry." The ravenette announced to no one in particular. He pawed at his face. His once vibrant eyes were bloodshot and wore bags under one. The right side probably had dark bags to match, but it was covered with a black eye and bruise down his face. His neck also sported a dark bruise that wrapped around part of his throat. Lucky for Eddward it was covered by a large bulky neck brace. Joy. Tori barked and Eddward thank the lords it pulled him from his thoughts. There he was. Kevin James Barr with Tori and what Edd presumed was a rope. An intense game of tug-a-war erupted and both participants let out a series of playfully growls. Kevin stopped mid way to ditch his already soaked in sweat shirt. Tori waited patiently for her challenger to return and Eddward covered his eyes and blushed. A sigh escaped. Why did Kevin have to look so amazing while Eddward still resembled a blueberry. Thanks Max. Thanks for letting a blueberry live with his unrequited love. Ever since Edds little slip of the tongue Kevin stayed the same. The same old Kevin. No moves were made. Not one word was spoken about the slip up. Just normal everyday life. Eddward took that as his answer. Perfect Kevin James Barr didn't love him back. That was absolute torture to the teen. Every little touch caused Eddward small turmoil, but that was okay. He wasn't about to change the dynamics of their relationship with his feelings. Kevin already had to deal with Eddward at his worst, so why put him through this too. But at the very least Edd -at this moment- only really wanted Kevin to put his shirt on, so the brunette could shake off other sultry thoughts that penatraited his willing mind. Eddward couldn't even shake the thoughts away. Not with his injuries, so instead they lingered until the teen had enough strength to will them away.

"Did you hear me, Edd?" Eddward eyed Sam. He had not.

"I'm sorry Sam. I did not." The redheaded woman laughed and lightly rubbed Eddward's back.

"I said at 5 you guys need to get to heading." Eddward smiled and sorta nodded. Kevin had a surprise waiting in the city. Eddward wished he didn't. It only brought him confusion. Sam yelled the same words to Tori's shirtless opponent. The teen patted the large dog and jogged back a happy grin covered his face.

"I'm gonna grab a shower then we can head out." Kevin said with both hands placed on the arm of Eddward's chair. The small teen smiled sweetly and prayed Kevin would give him his personal space back before the thoughts came rushing in again. the redhead nodded and took off towards the guest house with Tori chasing excitedly behind. Another large sighed escaped Eddward's lips.

"You okay sweetpea?" The teen desperately tried to turn to see the source of the voice, but gave up when pain filled his body. "Don't move honey bee." Eddward half nodded and payed for it. His hand shot up and touched his sore neck. "Or nod." The teen closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.

"It's been almost two months. I should be better" Eddward answered exhausted. Sam let a soft hum echo out.

"It's gonna take time, kiddo." Brent said from the front step. The man held a quilt in his hands. His glasses sat gently on his nose as his old eyes focused on his sewing techniques. The yellow and white patches wore hedgehogs and owls. It was a gift for the new Barr coming to join the family. Eddward watched the large tattoo man focus on his handy work. A proud smile kept on his face. Brent loved quilting and almost everyone he loved had a blanket. Kevin's was red and gray with bikes decorating the patches. The brunette had curled in it a time or two since his injuries. Brent looked from his work to Eddward's watchful eyes.

"Ah sorry, you just looked so happy." Eddward offered an apologetic smile. The man stared slightly confused before standing up in a flurry. He gently placed the baby blanket on the porch and threw his hands up signaling for Eddward to stay. The raven teen wasn't quite sure where he would even go. The large man slipped into his house, and Kevin slipped out from the guest house across the street and jogged over with a smile.

That was fast." Kevin smiled in response and sat on the porch a second.

"Ready?" Kevin asked Eddward who put his hand up mimicking Brent's signal. The redhead raised a brow, but stayed put.

"Brent said so." Sam smiled from her newspaper and rocked in her chair. After a few moments the large man resurfaced with a large sky blue and purple quilt. The patches had paw prints and telescopes. Brent proudly presented Eddward the blanket. The small teen slowly reached out and took the rather thick quilt.

"Is this for me?" Eddward asked the smiling man. Brent took a huge breath and nodded.

"I wanted to give it to you while you were on the hospital, but then I found the telescope patches and stared over." Eddward hugged the blanket close to his chest and tears began to fall. The man looked to his wife in panic.

"My apologies, but no one's ever made me something before." Eddward sobbed into the quilt and squeezed it tight. Brent sighed and put a comforting hand on the small teens shoulder. "Thank you so much" The brunette sighed out. Embarrassment flooded the teen, but the man pulled him in for a soft hug all the same.

"It's okay kiddo, your family." Eddward sobbed harder. He had family. like actual family. Not just phantoms of a promise of family. A group of people that actually cared. Guilt filled the teen as he realized his parents death was a bit of a blessing.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Eddward sobbed out. "It my favorite." Brent smiled and gently ruffled the brunettes hair. Moments passed as the brunette admired his quilt. Deciding Edd was calm Kevin slowly took Eddward's hand with a smile.

"Are you good to go?" The redhead asked gently. The small teen smiled from his seat and slowly made his way up. He wrapped the quilt gently around him and made his way towards Kevin's car. "Are you bringing the blanket?"

"Yes, it looks cold." Brent smiled at Eddward's words. The small brunette teen had a special spot in the old bikers heart.

"Babe, you soft on that boy?" Sam asked her husband with a knowing grin as the boys drove off and Tori huffed next to them. They were pup sitters for the night.

"I reckon I am honey bee."

It was dark when they pulled into the zoo parking lot. And even though night had fallen the parking lot still had cars flooding in. Eddward looked for clues on the mystery of why they were currently arriving at a zoo at 7 on a Saturday night. No signs the brunette could read stood out. His normal eyes sight had been hindered by his injuries. Kevin smiled and pulled into a parking spot. The pair sat in silence for several moments before Eddward's voice sliced through the atmosphere.

"Why are we here?" Kevin smiled and pulled something out of his wallet before handing the items to Eddward. The small teen looked over the papers in his hand. They were tickets and in bright colorfully letters it read : India Nights. The ravenette smiled softly and keep his eyes trained on the tickets.

"Max kinda put the India trip oh hold. I hope this holds you over." Kevin said softly as he watched Eddward keep his eyes solely on the tickets. Somehow Kevin thought Edd would be happier.

"I've never been to the Zoo." Eddward said after a second. "Mother and Father were supposed to take me before my scar happen." Kevin rubbed the back of his neck.

"Can I ask what happened?" Eddward keep his focus on the tickets as he answered.

" It was a thunderstorm and mother and I got into a bit of a wreck." A light bulb went off in Kevin's head as guilty memories of teasing the smartest of the three Ed's over his obvious fear of thunder came flooding back. "Things were never the same after that, and then we moved. I guess I'm the one that moved." Eddward smoothed a wrinkle out of his blanket. "Would you think me a bad person if I told you I'm a little happy they are gone? Being a part of your family has been such a blessing." The smaller teen wiped a tear away. The redhead scooted closer to the crying teen and place a gentle arm over Eddward's shoulder.

"You being here has been my wish come true." Kevin whispered as he comforted the small teen. Eddward looked up at Kevin confused. The ravenette could hear his heartbeat in his ears. Kevin was so close. A mischievous grin decorated his handsome face. Seconds past and Kevin didn't move and neither did Eddward. The redhead moved closer before lightly poking the small teens nose.

"Boop" Kevin said causing Eddward to break out in laughter. Both teens smiled brightly. Edd took a deep breath and folded his quilt.

"Maybe I should change my last name from Vincent to Barr." Kevin smiled as he slipped out of his car and quickly made his way to open Eddward's door. The redhead held his hand out for Edd to take and waited patiently for the small teen to take it. The raven haired teen took the expecting and hand and began to very slowly inch his way out. Once on his feet Kevin shut the door behind him.

"All in due time." The redhead told the confused brunette next to him. "All in due time." Eddward let the phrase go as he followed Kevin into the gate. They quickly gave over their tickets and slipped into the zoo. Eddward's eyes light up with a million different colors from lights and lanterns. It was the most colorfully thing either teen had ever seen. The smaller of the two teens smiled brightly as he began to venture.

"Kevin, I want to see the elephants please." The said teen smiled and locked hands as he lead the brunette through a sea of children and adults. Eddward giggled slightly as they made their way to the exhibit the teen wanted. Soon they found themselves looking down at a family of 5 Indian Elephants. Eddward beamed and began sprouting out facts about the creatures faster then Kevin could understand. Instead of engaging in the one sided conversation the redhead keep a loving smile on his mouth as he watched Eddward gush. The lights that decorated the zoo shined down and illuminated the brunettes face as he smiled and talked excitedly about elephants. The more he whole heartedly spoke of the creatures the more they were becoming Kevin's favorite animal, and from what he could tell India was never about anything other then the elephants for Eddward. Suddenly it dawned on Kevin. This was it. His perfect moment with Edd. The redhead took his chance with the brunette so animated over the large creatuers. Quickly the gap between Kevin and Eddward was closed as the larger teen held softly to the brunettes face and brushed their lips lightly together. The kiss was quick as panic rushed through the redhead.

"Shit your lips. I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Kevin said as he pulled away from a flabbergasted brunette his hands protectively cradling the small teens face. Eddward wrapped his fists into Kevin's shirt and brought him back down for another deeper kiss as his answer. Kevin wrapped his arms around the smaller teens waist and kissed back while Eddward keep his hands tangled into the redhead's shirt. It was the most perfect first kiss that either one of them had ever had. Slowly they pulled away and Kevin smiled.

"Why would you pick now to express romantic interest in me? I look awful. All bruised up and in this ridiculous neck brace." Kevin chucked a bit at the small teen still in his arms.

"Because you looked so beautiful in these damn lights." Kevin answered causing a pink to mix with the purple on Eddward's face. The redhead hugged the small teen closer and kissed him lightly again. "Wanna see the rest beautiful?" Kevin asked as he gestured to the rest of the zoo. The small teen nodded a bit and let the redhead lead him away. All of Eddward's doubts and worries washed away as he held tightly to the guy he loved. A new brand of nervousness filled both teens as their outting quickly turned into a date, and both had silently decided elephants were their new favorite animal.
