Chapter 21: Wake up call

I don't know what happened. I was walking away to go lay down, and the next thing I knew everything went black. I tried to say something but no words were coming out. I could hear things though. I heard Antonio call my name, and the vase in the hallway fell again.

After that I remember nothing. Nothing at all, so I let myself sleep.

"Roma where are you?"

I stayed hidden in my spot, he would never find me here. "Stupid Spain, he thinks he's the boss of me just because Austria gave me to him." I laughed to myself. Peaking out of my hiding spot I watched him walk around trying to find me.

"Romano this isn't funny, come here!" He yelled, he sounded angry and he was crazy if he thought I was coming out. I pulled my knees to my chest and poked the ground with a stick. I didn't hat it here completely.

Belgium is nice to me at least, she's also really pretty. But it was Spain that was my "Boss." Ugh, this sucks and I'm getting hungry.

"ROMANO!" Spain called again, moving closer to where I was. I held my breath when he walked by, no way was going to find me so quickly. He stopped right beside me and stood there for a minute. "Please? It's lunch time!"

Spain turned a little which kicked up some dirt. Ah, I gotta sneeze!

Hold it in.
Hold it in!
HOLD IT IN!

"Achoo!" Dammit!

Spain jumped a little and bent down, looking between the tomato plants where I was hiding and smiled. "Found you! Romano is good at this game, but maybe you should keep your nose under control."

"Shut up, Spain." I grumbled and crawled out. When I knocked off most of the dirt he held out his hand.

"Let's go. Boss packed lunch up in a basket so we can eat outside!" He cheered and grabbed my hand anyway. "Let's get out of the dirt though."

Time skip...

"See! I told you Boss makes a good lunch."

"It wasn't that good."

"You look like you enjoyed it." Spain said, laying back on the grass. I was eating a tomato and trying my best to ignore him. The sky was really blue and cloudless today, and it's really warm. I had almost forgotten about Spain being there until he poked me in the side. "Roma, look at this."

I turned my head and looked at what he was doing. He had twisted some of the wild flowers into a ring and set it on my head.

"You look so cute!"

"I'm not cute!" I turned my head so he didn't see my face. That jerk needs to stop calling me cute.

"Yes you are!" He said as he sat up and hugged me. "You are so cute! I'm glad I'm your boss, Romano."

I struggled to get out of his stupid hug and sighed in defeat after a minutes.

"Know what? When you get older, I'm gonna marry you! Because you're so cute!"

"Shut up you jerk, I'm a guy and that's just weird. How could you be so stupid?!"

Oh, little me if only you knew. Why was this coming back to me? It was so long ago. It's not uncommon for Countries to dream about this past, so I should have expected it. It was still weird. How long ago that was and where I am now.

Wait, where am I?

When I woke up I had a horrible headache. Everything was hurting at this point. I was also laying in be d, listening to a faint sound of what sounded like a machine running next to me. I didn't open my eyes yet.

I shifted a little to find I had little movement of my arm, like it was tied down or something. There was whispering somewhere on my left side. I recognized the voices. Both Dr. Almaz, and Dr. Pinasco, Antonio, and I think I heard Feliciano make one of his weird sounds.

So in the end, I guess I was either in the bedroom, or the hospital. Great.

I groaned and opened my eyes. No one seemed to notice, they were all too caught up in their conversation. I noticed I actually was at home, but there were machines next to me.

Where the hell did all of those come from? Did one of the Doctors bring them for me? What the hell was in the I.V.? Is that a heart monitor? Damn all I need is an oxygen mask and I would be all set!

I tried to move again, which caught Antonio's attention. He ran over to my side and looked at me, like he was expecting me to say something.

Dr. Pinasco was behind him, with his clipboard.

Antonio was the first to speak. "How are you feeling, Lovi?" He asked in a whisper, resting his hand on my forehead.

"In pain, what happened?" I asked, doing all I could not make my voice actually work, my throat felt dry and alittle sore.

"You passed out. I told you to stay calm, Signore." Dr. Pinasco said. It just occurred to me that he was here, in Spain. "Dr. Almaz called me the moment he arrived at the house after he was called, I got here as soon as I could."

"How long was I out?"

"About twelve hours." Antonio whispered. "Your brother is here too, he was worried. We all are."

"T-the baby?"

"Everything else is fine, Fratello. They told me so." Feliciano said from across the room.

"Ah, yes. Everything is normal, you just got too worked up." Dr. Almaz said plainly. "It isn't a surprise, from what I understand you already have a slight anger problem. I would be surprised if we didn't have this issue along the way."

I let out a sigh of relief. That was good news, I guess. At least everyone was alright. "What's with my room being a hospital room?"

"I brought all of this with me with permission. We are keeping this confidential to your request Senor Romano." Dr. Almaz said with a slight nod. "It will be kept here in case of any more issues. So I don't have to pack them all up and bring them again."

I nodded, relaxing a little. Antonio grabbed my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. I smiled a little squeezed his back. Dr. Pinasco tapped his shoulder. "May we speak with you outside for a moment? Just need to go over a few things."

Antonio nodded and kissed my forehead before following them out of the room. When the door was closed behind them Feliciano walked over and sat down next to me.

"Ciao fratellino." I said, giving him the best smile I could.

"And you call me an idiot." He mumbled, crossing his arms. "I told you to relax."

"I blame Prussia."

"Hmph." His gaze shifted from me, to one of the machines.

I looked at them and then him.

"I found out what it is." Feliciano said, turning back to me. He was back to smiling as he shifted on the bed to lean in closer to me. "My Doctor asked me if I wanted to know so I said yes because I couldn't wait and I was ready to start getting the room ready."

"Well?" I asked, I was kind of excited.

"It's a girl."

I'm back! Howsitgoin?
