Chapter 24: It's a...
I must have been exhausted last night because I didn't survive past ten. I slept peacefully and even got to sleep in the next morning, knowing I had to be awake at nine A.M. to get ready. Antonio needed to be awake at that time too if that bastard wanted to go with me.
I rolled over, expecting to hit a wall of Spaniard. Instead I landed flat on my back in a pile of pillows and empty bed. Sitting up quickly my eyes darted around the room to find one of Antonio's drawers open, the list of baby names we started a few weeks ago (I'm sticking to Dantè or Daniella, Antonio still wanted to make a list though...) and a small note on his nightstand.
I picked it up and opened it, ignoring the overly decorated "Lovi~" on the front.
Good morning, mi amor. Sorry I can't be here to kiss you when you wake up. I got called earlier and I had to go do things in the capitol. I might be gone all day. Sorry I can't be there when we find out what our baby is... But I'm sure you will tell me when I get home~ You look so sweet when you're asleep, by the way.
Te amo~
Antonio
I crumpled up the note and threw it to the trash bin beside the bed. Sighing I sat up and looked at my stomach, it was beginning to grow a tiny bit. Which was bad, because that means going outside will be kinda weird. I guess that just means I have a reason to stay inside.
Then it hit me exactly what the note said. I finally remembered what today was, and I stood up a little too quickly. I composed myself and sighed. Today was going to be a good day. A very good day. I won't let anything stupid mess up my day.
Now all I need to do is find a shirt that will fit without making me look like I'm getting fatter...
Fuck...
I was back in my beautiful grey room~ I have claimed it as my own and no other person may sit in it as long as I am carrying my baby. (Which will be approximately twenty more weeks...) Something was different this time. Because now I was in here with a bunch of equipment, a very nice nurse, Dr. Almaz, and Dr. Pinasco.
The nurse was mostly talking to me. She was asking me questions about how I was, what was happening to me, but she seemed so much more interested in my personal like than my reason for being here. May I add she almost looked like a girl version of Antonio? Her eyes were a little bit on the blue-side, however.
"So, you're the famous 'Lovi' I hear so much about?" She asked, after finishing the other questions. "Senor Spain talks about you alot."
"I bet he does." I sighed, watching the two doctors behind her, talking about doctor stuff that is confusing as hell. I knew what was going on. They did the ultrasound more times than usual on me, stressing how important it was to keep an eye on their "special case" (and I'm so tired of being called that...)
Antonio had a fucking freak out the first time. I don't know what he was expecting, but I remember him nearly fainting at the sight of the baby.
"He seems very excited about this." The nurse said, snapping me from my mini-flash back. "We saw him last week for the usual physical checkup." (yes we have those!)
"I see."
"He kept going on about you, it's like he wasn't even concerned with his own health, which is pretty good but none the less." He continued to speak, doing all of the stuff to me, getting me ready (Special case powers activate!).
Dr. Pinasco walked over from his little chat with Dr. Almaz. "Are you sure you want to do this without Signore Spain?" He asked carefully.
"He said to go ahead and tell him when he gets home tonight."
"Very well then, let's see what's in there."
It was nearly six-thirty in the afternoon when I got home from my eleven in the morning appointment. With no sign of Antonio I sighed.
They let me go at about noon, which is when I decided to go eat lunch. After that I HAD to go shopping because why the fuck not? Besides, I kinda got over excited about the baby's gender and ran out to buy a bunch of stuff for it.
It was an accident, really. There were also a bunch of women surrounding me like "Aw~ is your wife pregnant?"...
I lied. I'm not allowed to talk about what's happening or what I really am. Because humans that aren't involved in our country are not allowed to know. So the ladies at the baby store have dubbed me the "Sweetest husband ever."
I set the bags on the couch, as a mini trap for Antonio to see if he gets the hint. I hope he does.
It was a few moments after I had changed and started to make something for dinner when I heard the front door open and close. A set of footsteps I somehow knew were Antonio's went right by the couch and right behind me, when a matching pair of arms made their way around my waist.
"How was your day?" I asked softly, giving Antonio a slight smile.
"Long... I'm so tiiiired..." He stood there for a minute before kissing my cheek and letting go. "I'm going to put on sweat pants and my boss shirt and you can't stop me." I heard him comment with a laugh as he walked from the kitchen.
I wasn't going to argue with him anyway. I know how Antonio gets after a long day in the Madrid.
"Lovi, what's with this bags on the couch?" He asked from the living room when I assume he was done changing.
"It's some stuff I bought today. You can look at it if you want to."
"Okay~"
The bags were heard moving and being opened and closed a few times.
"Lovi isn't this stuff a little small for you now?" There was a minute pause. "And why so many greens and blu- DIOS MIO ARE YOU HAVING A BOY?!"
