This was probably the hardest thing I have every roleplayed and it was VERY sloppy on our part. So instead of all of the doctor stuff, we'll stick with Antonio and listen to his thought, Mkay?

Chapter 31: Reassurance.

"Lovi just hold!" I couldn't calm down the whole time I was driving him to the hospital. I had Dr. Pinasco on the phone, luckily he was here on another business matter, and Dr. Almaz was already alerted and was ready to meet us up there.

"Mr. Spain, just take him through the emergency room entrance. Many of the nurses on staff are aware of a special circumstances patient coming in. Tell them who he is and inform them that Dr. Almaz told you to take him up there. Understood?" Dr. Pinasco said slow as he could. I could hear his tone sounding rushed and almost as worried asI felt at the moment.

"I got it. Gracias." I said, hanging up. It was a given that I had to follow the traffic rules, but to our luck the streets were pretty empty at... Is it really 4 a.m.? Perfect time to be born, Dantè, I'm so proud.

Lovi was in the back seat. He was quiet at the moment, but his face was twisted with pain. His eyes were nothing but full of worry though. He started muttering in Italian.

With a shaky breath I refocused my attention on the road. Dammit, couldn't we live any closer to the hospital. You would think as clumsy as both of us were, we would think about moving closer or maybe just having personal at home health care like the old people we are!

Excuse me for being like this I am a little frusterated (and worried... and sleep-deprived... and oh I don't know freaking out!) at the moment.

"Are you okay back there?" I asked, when I pulled up in the hospital parking lot. Lovi nodded a little and from what I could tell he was trying to calm down. My poor Lovi. I can only blame myself. "I'll be right back to get you Lovino, just hold tight and everything will be okay." I don't know if I was assuring him, or myself at this point...

Inside there was a nurse at the counter who recognized me and waved.

"Dr. Almaz said you guys knew he was coming." I said in Spanish really quickly with a wave back. It was like a spy movie where everyone suddenly jumps into action. Befor eI knew what happened they had Lovi in a wheel chair and moving him right down the hall.

"Antonio..." He whimpered when I caught up and tried to keep up with the two very quick nurses that were with him. Dr. Almaz was already in the room waiting for him.

"Dr. Pinasco will be here shortly, Mr. Romano." He told Lovi, who only nodded. Thing had finally slowed down a little bit as they set Lovi up in the room.

There was a moment where we were alone while both doctors were standing outside of the room. I could hear small pieces of their conversation. Lovino was hooked up to all kinds of machines and stuff. His breathing was shaky and he kind of just had a blank stare when he looked at me. He's never looked so... lifeless...

"Antonio..." He whispered. "It'll be okay, right?"

I grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle, hopefully reassuring squeeze. "Of course it will." I said, giving a small smile.

It was then when Dr. Almaz stepped in, wearing all kinds of surgery and doctor stuff. I felt like I was in a bad hospital horror film. He walked over and leaned down close to me. "Mr. Spain. Usually we'll let the father be in the room, but in a case like thise we don't know how anything will be. You can sit in my office if you like." He whispered.

I nodded and gave Lovino's hand one last gentle squeeze before I stood up, leaning over to kiss his forehead.

"Tonio wait." He whispered.

"You'll be okay. I have to go, I'll see you soon, okay? Te amo, Lovino."

He could only nod in response and whisper a very small. "Ti amo." in return.

Minutes felt like hours as I sat alone in that small office. The room was very boring actually, considering Dr. Almaz was a very cool guy. The only decoration was an old futbol jersey with Almaz-Garcia 45 printed on the back. The only bright side was that the office wasn't far from the room which mi amor was in.

The door was closed, but I could hear alot of people talking quickly and sometimes shouting. But from what I could tell there were other things going on elsewhere in the hospital.

I checked my phone. It had been an hour since Lovi had woken up. A WHOLE HOUR. It was barely 5 a.m. and I wasn't even tired. Everyone I knew was probably asleep right now. I really wanted to call Ita and tell him but I'm sure neither him nor Germany would like me calling at this hour.

"Wait! He's okay! The baby is perfectly healthy!" I could hear Dr. Pinasco through the door, as well as the crying of a newborn infant. "It's a boy."

My Dantè. My sweet little Dantè. He was okay.

"He's a little bigger for a late-term premature infant." A nurse commented.

It was taking everything inside of me to keep from bursting through that door. Luckily I didn't have to because Dr. Almaz opened it a minute later. "He's okay. The baby, he's alright."

"Bueno." I said, unable to stop smiling. "Can is see Lovino now?"

"Of course you ca-"

What happened next was all in Spanish (of course), and happened rather quickly so I'm going to slow it down and translate for you. (No Google for this time!)

"Dr. Almaz come quickly!"

"Hold on..." He left me alone again, closing the door in my face. I could still hear everything. "What is it?"

"His heart rate won't return to normal!"

"Someone get him to relax! Male bodies weren't built to prepare for these events!"

I froze right there. I knew it was Lovino they were talking about. I honestly didn't know how serious everything was until I heard more shouting.

The severity of the situation didn't hit me until that one word ran through my ears.

"Clear!"
