I suck. I kept putting this off because I'm just losing sight for this story, but I keep my promises even though it may take forever, I'm going to finish this. Thank you so much Naley12 for keeping me on track and begging me to update. If it wasn't for you I probably would still be procrastinating. This chapter isn't my best work because I was rushed and I just wasn't feeling it, but it's better than nothing, haha. Enjoy! I hope you guys are still interested.. let me know!

"No- for the one thousandth time, I will not be answering your questions! Stop calling me! God!" Haley screamed into the phone, and slammed it down three seconds later, as she fell back on the couch and let out a frustrated groan. She rested her hands on her knees as she cupped her face in her hands and rubbed her tired eyes. For the past two days, Haley's phone was constantly ringing, from people calling in order to get a quote about her 'scandalous relationship' with Nathan. Her heart ached considering she hasn't seen him since they were at Lucas and Brooke's house. Clay- Nathan's agent had decided it would be best for them to be separated until the mess was configured. She understood the circumstance, but still it would be a lot easier if Nathan was here with her. She had been trapped in her house ever since- God forbid she left her house, she'd be bombarded with reporters and crazy people with ridiculous accusations. Thankfully Brooke decided to watch Jackson for the day, giving Haley a few hours for peace and quiet. Unfortunately, she should've been relaxing, but she couldn't stop thinking and worrying about the future. She now had no job, but had to support her and Jackson... plus, what would this mean for her and Nathan? Would he freak out and leave her? No, she mentally scolded herself for even thinking that way. Nathan would never do that to her.

As she sank lower into the couch cushion, she heard the doorbell ring.

Worried it would be reporters, she slowly got up, and peaked out the front window. Her mouth dropped as she saw who was standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Haley then ran to the door, swung it open, and threw her arms around a shocked Nathan.

After a second to gain his re-composure, Nathan wrapped his arms around Haley and kissed her forehead. He then felt a small wet stain forming on his shirt where Haley's head lay, and looked down to find her crying.

"Baby, is everything okay?" He asked nervously.

Haley pulled away softly and looked into his ocean blue eyes, as she smiled through her tears.

"It is now." She cried and leaned on the tips of her toes to place a firm, long kiss on Nathan's soft lips. She then reluctantly pulled away, and grabbed Nathan's hand to pull him inside, where she shut the door, and pinned him against the back of it, as she continued assaulting his lips.

"I love you Nathan." She mumbled against his lips, as his hands rubbed soothing circles on her waist.

Nathan pecked one last kiss on his girlfriends lips and placed a curl of her hair behind her ear. "As much as I love being greeted like that, what just happened?" He chuckled slightly.

Haley blushed softly as she grabbed onto his tight black t-shirt, "I missed you so much." A gentle tear escaped from her brown eyes, and Nathan immediately reached up to wipe it away.

"I missed you too Hales."

"What are you doing here? You're not supposed to leave your house, remember?" Haley questioned nervously. "Are you okay?"

Nathan smiled at the concern in her voice, "I'm fine baby. The reporters finally left, and I couldn't go another second without seeing you. I don't care what anyone says. I would walk through fire to get to you. I need you Haley."

His words lit a heat up inside of her that she had never felt before, and tears flooded her eyes again, as she wrapped her arms around his neck and cried into his neck. "N-Nathan!" She sobbed. "Oh I need you so much. Please don't ever let me go."

Nathan squeezed his eyes shut in order to keep his own tears at bay. He hated seeing Haley so broken like this- he knew it was all his fault.

"I'm so sorry Hales." He whispered.

Haley stopped crying, and sniffled softly, as she ran a hand through his hair, "This is not your fault, Nathan. There is no need to apologize."

"Yes it is! I should've been more careful! Now because of me, we both lost our jobs, and your privacy is at risk. What if the media finds out about Jackson? Oh god, I'm such an idiot!" Nathan cried.

"Nathan Scott, don't you dare blame yourself. You are not an idiot. We did not do anything wrong. We are in love, and if Principal Rimpkus doesn't understand that, then to hell with her. I don't need to work for her, but I do need you. Whatever happens, we are going to get through it together, okay?" She whispered softly and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. "I love you."

Nathan smiled softly at her words. "God, you're amazing Haley James."

Haley giggled softly, and gently led him into the living room, where they sat on the couch cuddling.

"Are you okay?" Haley whispered as she shifted onto his lap.

Nathan nodded, and placed a kiss on her nose. "Yeah, thank you."

"You're welcome." She smiled and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Damn, how is it possible that you got more sexy in two days?" She flirted.

Nathan chuckled, and flashed her his infamous smirk. "I could ask you the same thing Hales."

Haley laughed and kissed him again, "I've missed this." She pouted.

"Me too." Nathan sighed against her lips. "I promise once things go back to being normal, me you and Jackson will spend more time together and go out. I want to take you to a basketball game in Charlotte, and show you around the city."

"That sounds nice." Haley said dreamily as she sunk lower into Nathan's embrace. Just as Nathan was about to kiss Haley again, there was a loud knock on the door, and Haley let out a groan.

"Ugh, it better not be those damn reporters!" She mumbled.

Nathan immediately jumped up and clenched his jaw. "Reporters have been here? Did they hurt you?" He questioned.

"No, no." Haley reassured him, "But they have been calling a lot."

"Damn it!" He shouted, and walked over to the door, ready to punch whomever it was. However, as he swung open the door, he immediately grew confused. Sixteen teenage students- specifically Haley's students- were gathered outside her door with nervous smiles etched across their faces.

"Nathan, who's at the door?" Haley called out as she reluctantly walked over to Nathan.

"Your students." He chuckled, and greeted some of the teenagers.

"What?" Haley exclaimed and ran over to the door where her first period English class was gathered outside her home with their books.

Nathan looked down at her, and wrapped his arm around her as she stood in front of her class with an open mouth.

"Guys what are you doing here?" She asked with a tentative smile.

"If you can't come to school, then we'll come to you." Quentin Fields announced with a smile.

Haley bit down softly on her lip and blinked hard in order to repel the tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "You guys are so sweet."

"Look, we just wanted to say that we think it's really cool how you and Coach are dating." Sam spoke up, and looked at Nathan and Haley who were wrapped in each other's embraces.

Haley looked up at Nathan and smiled sweetly, as he placed a quick kiss on her forehead, earning a few 'aww's' from the girls in her class.

"Damn Miss. J! I'm jealous!" Victoria shouted with a playful laugh.

"You guys are so cute! I totally knew you were dating." Michelle told Haley.

"I'm sorry you guys had to find out this way. We were trying to keep it a secret considering the consequences." Nathan told the students.

"I think it's complete bull that you guys were fired for dating! It's not a crime!" Sam shouted, as other students quickly agreed.

Haley sighed, "I know guys, but unfortunately we did break a rule, and now we have to pay the consequences."

"But Miss James, we need you! Miss. Rimpkus is the worst teacher! We don't care if you and Coach date! We want you both to come back." Quentin protested.

"Look, um maybe you guys should come inside so we can talk about this..." Haley stated, and seconds later her students came pouring in through her doorway and gathered around the living room.

Nathan simply shrugged at Haley's gaze, and held her hand as they walked back into the living room to greet the teenagers.

"You know what guys, maybe this isn't the best idea.. I'm already in trouble with Principal Rimpkus.." Haley stated nervously.

"Then we'll take the blame! You did nothing wrong! She had no right to fire the best teacher!" Sam argued.

Haley bit her lip, and squeezed Nathan's hand, "I wasn't exactly fired... I actually quit."

"WHAT?" The students shouted angrily, and looks of deter fell upon their faces.

"Miss. J, how could you quit?" Que asked disgustedly.

"Let me explain!" Haley rushed out, "Look, I was supposed to be fired, but Coach Scott begged Ms. Rimpkus for me to keep my job, but um she was being really nasty to me and Nath- I mean Coach, so I quit. I'm sorry guys, but it just wasn't fair what she did to us. Coach Scott and I are in this together."

"Yeah, so don't be mad at Miss. James. She did it for me, and I would've done the same." Nathan spoke up.

"AWW! That's so freaking cute!" Julie screamed girlishly.

"I think Ms. Rimpkus should be fired, and you two should come back!" Bridget suggested.

"That's very sweet of you, but I really don't think that will happen. I'm so sorry guys. We didn't intend for this to happen.." Haley sighed sadly, "I'm going to miss each and every one of you!"

"Miss. James you can't give up yet." Brian pleaded. "We will do anything to get you guys back!"

"Yeah, I bet Miss. Rimpkus is just jealous." Julie muttered.

Nathan smiled at the students, "We know you guys are upset. We are too, but love is a powerful force-"

"Wait! You guys are in love?" Sam shouted excitedly. "Oh my gosh!"

"This is so exciting!"

"How could that bitch fire you for being in love?"

"This is absurd!"

"I'm so happy for you guys!"

"Oh my god! You have to get married!"

"I love you guys!"

"Cutest couple ever!"

Haley and Nathan chuckled at the various murmurs and shared a light kiss, causing even more shrill 'fan girl' screams.

"Yes guys, we are in love, and despite the fact I lost my job, I've never been happier." She smiled with a light blush.

"Aww!" Sam gushed.

"I feel the same way. I'm so happy I finally told her how I felt. I'm so in love with her."

"I can't take it. Y'all are adorable!" Victoria gushed.

Haley giggled softly and ran her hand over Nathan's chest, "Thanks guys. Really, I appreciate you guys coming here, but I don't want you getting in trouble."

"If you got in trouble for being in love, then I think we can be in trouble for coming here trying to learn from our favorite teacher." Que announced.

Haley and Nathan smiled, "Thanks Que, but seriously it's almost time for second period. You should really get back to school. We'll try to work things out, okay?"

The group of students reluctantly decided to go back to school, and said their goodbyes, leaving Nathan and Haley alone at last.

"I can't believe they all just came here." Nathan admonished as he followed Haley into the kitchen.

Haley laughed softly as Nathan wrapped his arms around her waist. "I know. They're such good kids."

"Remember on the first day of school you ran out of the class 'cause they were being mean to you." Nathan whispered against her neck with a light chuckle.

Haley rolled her eyes and let out a light groan, "Ugh don't remind me. That was so embarrassing!"

"Yeah, but remember I saved you?" Nathan asked as she turned around in his embrace and looked lovingly into his deep blue eyes. She smiled softly and ran her hand over his lightly stubbled cheek.

"How could I forget? You saved me so many times that day. I still feel like I owe you."

"You don't owe me anything, Haley." Nathan said truthfully, "Just being with you is the best feeling in the world."

Haley smiled and leaned in for a long kiss, "Sometimes I still think I'm dreaming. I don't know how I was so lucky to find you."

"It helps that you're hot." Nathan smirked.

Haley giggled and rolled her eyes playfully. "Well so are you."

"I already know that baby, but it's nice to know my girlfriend think that too." Nathan chuckled.

Haley laughed and playfully punched his arm, "Oh you're funny!"

"I knew that too." He smirked. "Any other compliments you want to give me, because we can go all night."

"Hmm, I don't know... I'll have to think." Haley said with a sly smile.

"Well I don't have to think about any compliments for you. I could easily name 10 right now." Nathan smiled.

Haley's heart fluttered at his charm. "Oh yeah?" She flirted with a sweet smile.

"Mhmm. The first one is that you're by far the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on."

"Nathan.." Haley said breathlessly.

Nathan smiled and continued talking, "The second one is that every time I see you smile, I fall in love with you all over again."

Haley bit her lip, and clutched blinked as a small tear dripped down her cheek.

"Number three, is just one look into your beautiful brown eyes sends me overboard. My heart races faster than I have ever felt. Sometimes I feel like I'll have a heart attack." He chuckled, and Haley placed her hands over her own racing heart.

"Number four is your laugh is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. I love making you laugh, because when you laugh, I feel accomplished."

Haley giggled softly, and squeezed his hand gently.

"Fifth- You are such a kind person. You have the biggest heart, and I love how caring you are."

"Nathan you are so sweet-"

"Shh- I'm not finished baby." Nathan smiled and pecked a quick kiss on her lips. "You are the best kisser, and just one kiss from you makes me crave more. Seven- you are the smartest person I know. I love how much you know, and you're so passionate about learning."

By now, Haley was full on crying tears of happiness. She felt so blessed that Nathan was all hers. He was so romantic and nice.

"Number eight: You are the best mom to Jackson. He is such a lucky little boy, and you have done an amazing job raising him. Number nine, I love how strong you are. Despite everything that has happened to you, you still manage to have a positive outlook on life. I love how strong and inspiring you are. And finally, you are the best girlfriend I could have ever asked for. You're everything I need and more. I will love you always and forever."

Haley could not stop crying, as she placed both hands on Nathan's cheeks, as she pulled him in for a fiery yet extremely passionate kiss.

"God Nathan, those were the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me. I love you." Haley cried.

"I didn't mean to make you cry Hales. I want you to smile." Nathan chuckled as he kissed her back.

"I'm just so happy. You make me so happy." Haley smiled through her tears.

"You make me happy too. Every day." Nathan promised.

Haley wiped away her tears and sniffled. "That was so sweet. You're so romantic."

Nathan chuckled and pulled Haley in for a tight embrace as he ran his hands through her hair. "Good, because you deserve the best."

Haley smiled and kissed Nathan again, as she pulled him over to the kitchen table and pushed him down into a seat. "You, my perfect boyfriend, deserve the best. So, what do you want for dinner? I'll make anything for you."

"Right now, I just want you." He smirked as he gently swung Haley back to him and she fell on his lap, he wrapped a protective arm around her and slipped his tongue slowly into her mouth as he kissed her hard. She let out a light moan and kissed him back with just as much force.

Haley pulled away reluctantly and smiled, "Seriously babe, what do you want for dinner?"

"Mhmm, I don't know. What ever you want."

Haley bit her lip, and smiled widely, "I want macaroni and cheese."

"Oh that's right... I forgot I'm dating a five year old." Nathan laughed.

Haley playfully pointed her eyes at Nathan, "What happened to all of those compliments? Now you're making fun of me." She pouted.

"I'm kidding Hales, I love your childish side. In fact, I love all of your sides."

"You're so cheesy." Haley laughed.

"Whatever, you love it." Nathan smirked.

"I do." She smiled as she walked over to the refrigerator and took out the materials needed for dinner, as Nathan sat back with a giant smile watching her cook.

"What are you smiling about?" She asked looking over her shoulder.

"You. You're beautiful. I could get used to this." Nathan continued smiling.

"Get used to what? Me cooking for you?" She chuckled.

"Yep!"

Haley simply laughed and continued to cook, as a comfortable silence fell upon the couple, and Nathan took it upon himself to set the table with a simple table cloth, and lit a few candles.

"Thanks babe. That looks great!" Haley complimented.

"It smells great." Nathan smiled as he gently grabbed the bowl of mac and cheese from Haley and placed it on the table.

Nathan pulled out the chair for Haley and she sat down as he placed a quick kiss in her hair, and pushed it back under the table.

"Thanks for dinner, this looks amazing." Nathan smiled.

"Good, I hope you like it!" She said with a smile as she poured them each a glass of wine, and Nathan graciously accepted it.

"Cheers!" Nathan smiled and toasted with Haley's glass. "I know things are pretty screwed up now, but as long as we're together, that's all that matters. I love you, always."

"And forever." Haley smiled as she clinked her glass with Nathan's.

For the rest of the night, Nathan and Haley relaxed in the living room watching a movie, and just enjoying their time with each other. They have yet to discuss the effects of their job loss or what they will do. They simply enjoyed their love for each other.

As the movie credits rolled on the tv, Nathan carefully got up and stretched, as Haley was still sleeping across the couch. He gently pulled a blanket over her, and kissed her forehead.

"Baby, wake up." He said softly.

Haley's eyes fluttered, "Mhmm Nathan?" Haley mumbled.

"It's getting pretty late, I'm going to head home."

"No!" She said sitting up. "Please stay with me tonight."

Nathan's eyes widened. "Are you sure?"

Haley smiled and got up as she wrapped her arms around his muscular waist. "Yes. I need you tonight Nathan. I just want you to hold me. I feel safer when you're with me."

"Okay." He smiled, and kneeled down as he picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, carrying her upstairs to her bedroom. He threw her on the bed and placed her under the covers, as he turned around and took his shirt off.

"Is it okay if I sleep in just my boxers?" He asked nervously.

"Of course!" Haley smiled as she store at his chiseled body.

"I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable.." He said worriedly.

Haley rolled her eyes, "I don't care, just get your sexy ass in bed!"

Nathan smirked and stripped down to his boxers as he crawled under the covers and into Haley's bed. Haley then got up and grabbed Nathan's duke t-shirt, as she looked over at Nathan nervously.

"Do you want me to shut my eyes? I could leave too if you want-"

Haley smiled at his thoughtfulness but as he was talking, she stripped down to just her bra and underwear, loving the look upon Nathan's face.

At first he was shocked, and then a look of lust flashed through his eyes, but then he grew nervous and squeezed his eyes shut afraid that starring would scare Haley.

Haley saw Nathan close his eyes, and laughed as she put Nathan's t-shirt on over her head. "It's okay Nathan. I Know i've probably scarred you for life, but you can open your eyes now." She laughed.

"God Hales, no- you didn't scar me! You- wow- you're so sexy!" Nathan said breathlessly. "I just- I didn't expect that. I didn't mean to stare, it's just- wow. I wow."

Haley giggled at Nathan's flustered state as she crawled on the bed and on top of Nathan.

"I know I'm not ready for the next step, but I'm not a prude." Haley whispered against his lips as she smiled sexily and kissed him passionately, running her hands up his naked chest.

Nathan smirked, and kissed her passionately, reveling in the feel of her soft touch. "Is this okay?"" He asked as he situated himself more comfortably.

"Perfect." She smiled and kissed him all over his body.

"Hales-" Nathan moaned lightly. "I- have to stop, I'm sorry. I'm just.. overwhelmed right now. I don't want to do anything to pressure you."

Haley nodded in understanding, "Okay, I'm sorry."

"No baby! You don't have to apologize! You didn't do anything wrong." Nathan immediately promised.

"Okay. Goodnight Nathan." She nodded, and closed her eyes as she kissed Nathan one last time, and fell asleep in his strong embrace. "Love you."

"I love you too angel. Sweet dreams." Nathan whispered, and prayed nothing would change between them.

Hope you liked it! Thanks for reading!
