Chapter 40: Family reunion
I woke up in a warm heat I had grown to love. The soft sound of Antonio's breathing instantly soothed me out of any grouchiness I could feel. What made it better is that I haven't slept that well in weeks. He pulled me closer to his chest and mumbled something I couldn't understand at all.
His mumbled Spanish giberish is just another sweet thing about him in the morning. It's not like I have a choice but to watch him as he sleeps. Most mornings I'm in an arm lock until he either wakes up or somehow lets his grip loosen enough for me to slip out and begin my morning routine. Which as of lately involved waking up and immediately walking to the nursery to feed our son. Not today. That was Feliciano's job. I would feel sorry for him if I wasn't so comfortably content in this hotel room bed being pressed against my fiancè's still bare chest.
"Hm Lovi~?" Antonio mumbled into my hair, kissing the top of my head. He sighed and let me go, not all the way though, just enough so he could look at me.
"Who else would it be, Bastard?" I asked. He laughed and shook his head a little.
"I was just seeing if you were awake, mi amor." He kissed me lightly and looked at the clock. "We still have time before checkout. What do you want to do?"
"Lay here silently." I replied in a whisper. I honestly didn't want to move, I could easily sleep another hour or two. But he wouldn't allow that, of course not.
"Loviiii~" Antonio's arms wrapped around me again, pulling me to where I was laying on top of him. I sat up the best I could and looked at him.
"You're not subtle at all, are you?" I asked. The comforter fell from around us, leaving us bare to the empty hotel room around us. Antonio rested his hands on my hips and shrugged while laying down. He flashed that cheesy grin he had when he wants something.
"Sometimes I have to be bold with you. Otherwise you ignore me."
"Hm. True." I put my hands on his and removed them from my lower body, pulling them off and kissing his cheek. "But my baby is alone with my little brother and his potato husband. I also have Christmas shopping to do and that's impossible to do with you around."
Antonio frowned as I stood up and began finding all of my clothes to put them on again. If I had known this would have happened I would have brought a change of clothes, my comb, and toothbrush. Because now I was going to go back to my house and get judged for my sex hair and yesterday's clothes. Yay...
Not only that but my neck and collar bones looked like someone had spilled ink all over them. Which of course is pretty much a dead giveaway how much we had enjoyed ourselves. Antonio didn't mind at all. That happy-go-lucky bastard was completely happy and getting dressed behind me while I was trying to make myself at least look halfway decent before I even thought about leaving the room.
Nonetheless he was already ready to go. Simply running a hand through his hair to make it look normal again. I glared at him via mirror, watching his face light up.
Luckily we didn't get much crap from Feliciano when we arrived back at the house. So I assume that Dantè didn't give him that much trouble and we didn't look that bad. He simply smiled and gave Dantè to Antonio who had his arms extended to hold him after what had been five days without him.
That's when I felt like a bag of bricks was dropped on my chest. I had selfishly torn those two apart. I slowly shifted my gaze over to them. Antonio was smiling brightly, keeping his little half-italian clone close to him. I lightly bit my lip and looked away. "I'm going to get my stuff back together." I mumbled and went to do so. I couldn't think straight at this moment, I felt like the biggest asshole alive.
I was never going to live this down.
We arrived home in once piece thanks to Antonio driving and Dantè sleeping most of the trip so we only had to stop a few time. Only for breaks and feedings for Dantè and us.
Anyway, I unpacked my stuff as Antonio took care of the baby. I heard him talking to Dantè in his "baby voice" and smiled softly as I refolded my clothes and put them away.
It wasn't lone before footsteps were heard walking into the room ans a sigh was heard.
"Dantè is fed, changed, bathed and sleeping peacefully as of right now." He said, smiling brightly when I turned to look at him.
"Grazie." I mumbled and walked over towards him slowly. He wrapped his arms around me and laid his head on mine.
"Lovi."
"Hm?"
He pulled away from the hug and kissed my forehead. "How many times do I have to do this?"
"Do what?"
Antonio reached into his pocket and pulled out my ring which I had left here when I stormed out a while ago. I bit my lip and looked at him, a tear swelling up in my eye. He dropped down onto one knee, just like he did last February and held it up the same way he did with the same exact hopeful smile on his face.
"Lovino Vargas, once again I ask you to marry me."
