Update Progress!

Just to let you all know what is going on with The Rise of Overlord Vulcan, if you have been following and reading my Forum, you know that I'm rewriting the story. The key point of it is this: I've read the past chapters of the Rise of Overlord Vulcan, to see what I have done as I couldn't remember some points to it, and I found it lacking. And as I said in the 'I read the story to see how I can continue it, there are parts of the story I didn't like and I thought hard before I decided to do this.

And if you are a writer, I think you can understand where I'm coming from, you read your work and found out that you don't like your work for whatever reason and so do one of two things. 1) You abandon the story. 2) You either rework, edit or rewrite the story all together. For me I am rework/editing: Oh most what you have read before well still be there, but I'll be adding more detail to it.

Here are a few things that I'm doing to it:

1) I removed the prologue, as it had no point to the story, and so I wrote a new and better version of it. This time I've wrote how Lucy came about. Which I should have done in the first place. Instead of 1234 words, it now has 2603, which I hope highlight better about how and why Lucy came about. I'll just have to wait and see what you think of it when I post it.

2) If you are old readers to this story, you should remember that at the start of it I was thinking about adding a group for Harry to fight against other than Dumbledore and Voldemort. And at long last I have been able to create one: the Mystics. I won't say more as you'll have to read it to know more about them, but I'm glad that I created them, as the few people I talked to about them, they seem to like them. Harry was getting too powerful that no one would be able to defeat him, which would make a boring story. So these Mystics well be more skilled and powerful than Harry, which well give him a reason to train to become more skilled than he already is.

3) Harry's childhood is going to be longer now, as when I reread the part about his childhood, I didn't really like how I wrote it. It didn't have enough information as to why or how Harry become dark like he did. So I've decided to write a saga of his childhood, to explain how he learnt about his powers, and to explain his decent into darkness. I hope that it works out well.

4) I'll writing it so that Harry'll have a small group of allies, all Mystics, who'll help Harry become better in his skills and people who'll be loyal to him. They'll all have different powers, one being able to control earth and make underground rooms.

5) The rewrite well have two Interludes that'll explain how the Mystics came to be, and because of them whilst most of the rest of the story well be the same, there'll be small changes to fit them.

6) Instead of flashbacks, I'll be showing you what happened during that year instead of telling you. Not sure how many chapters there'll be, but I don't think there'll be many like the future chapters.

That's all the things that are going to happen as I can think of right now, for now I would like your help in creating new OC's for this new version. Here is a character profile sheet I want you to use to create the new Mystics, one warning though, they need to be Muggleborns:

Name:

Age:

Appearance:

Personality:

History: (Their past, how they got their powers and if they got any family members and such. Every little detail well help me to add the person into the story.)

Powers: (These can be anything you like as long as they come from comics, films, games and such, as the Mystics are Muggleborns who taught themselves how to use their powers from these things, once they learn that the strange things that happened around them was because of them. Seeing that they have no one to help them, they use comics, films, games and such to master their powers.)

Strengths/Weaknesses: (What they are good at and what they aren't, and what weakness do their powers have, if any. Like Harry, seeing he can use fire, he would be weak against water and air.)

Alignment: (Good, Evil, Natural - they do whatever they want for their own gain, they are neither good nor evil.)

Please if there is anything else you can think of, please add it to the character too.

Anyway, I'm so sorry for the long delay in updates to my work, but the problem is that I have got a real bad case of writers block, along with the muse not working with me, nor the mood to write anything. In fact, it is the mood to write ANYTHING is the problem at the moment and so why it is taking so long for the updates. Not only that but the Beta Readers I was using for this story, they were no long able to help me at the moment because of real life got in the way. So I'm with a Beta Reader and looking for one. I'm TRULY sorry for this and I hope you'll like the new version once I posted it.

Here is a sneak peck into the Birth of Lucy Potter:

Finally the pressure peaked just as Harry completed the last detail that he wanted in his imaginary sister. As soon as he realized he was done, he felt the pressure surge and seem to explode outward, with every nerve ending in his body lighting up simultaneously; the resulting loss of pressure drained all the energy from his young body, and Harry fell back on his bed, exhausted, and felt sleep overtake him.

"So, Harry, this is your bedroom, huh brother?" a female voice said, startling Harry from his impromptu nap. He looked around and saw someone who looked very much like himself, only female, sitting on the side of his bed watching him. A mass of long, black, hair framed startlingly green eyes, identical to his own, that were currently staring at him as a sly smirk began to creep across her face.

"S-S-Sister?" Harry sputtered.

"Who else could I be?" the girl responded playfully. "What other girls do you know? Besides, who else could possibly fit inside this dreadfully small cupboard?"

It was true, too. The only other kids Harry knew were his classmates, and hardly any of them even acknowledged his existence, let alone spent any time with him. Besides, even though he was six-years old, the broom cupboard under the stairs was already becoming uncomfortably small. No other real person could possibly fit inside while he was there.

"It worked! I can't believe it actually worked! I'll have to thank some of those kids at school for telling me about this! I finally have a sister!" Harry whispered excitedly. Even though he was near bursting at the seams with joy at his imaginary sister experiment working, he was still mindful of not drawing unwanted attention from the Dursleys. "I wasn't positive that this would actually work, but it did! This is awesome!"

"Of course it worked, silly brother. Why wouldn't it work? It's your imagination, and we both know how good you are at imagining things to keep yourself entertained." Harry's sister stated matter of factly before reaching out and giving Harry his first ever hug.

Harry was shocked. Not only did the imaginary sister idea work, but now she was hugging him and he could actually feel it! Who knew that imaginary friends could give you real hugs? Harry didn't really care about how she was doing it, all he cared about was the fact that he was enjoying his first ever love-filled hug.

"So, Harry, what's up? Whatcha doin?" His sister asked when she broke the hug after several wonderful minutes.

"Nothing much." Harry replied. "Just trying to get over how cool it is that I finally have a sister. And trying to think of a name! Oh crap! I spent all my time thinking about how to make you real, that I didn't even think about what to call you. What is your name?"

"I don't have a name yet, silly." His sister said with a smirk that changed to a full faced grin. "You haven't given me a name yet. I would like to help you select a name for me, though. That way I don't end up with a name like Daisy or Penny. Yech!"

Harry's face flushed red because those were two of the names that had actually been floating around in his mind as good names to use. "Sure, sis. Any ideas what you would like to be called?"

And so the back-and-forth conversation began between Harry and his Sister. It took quite a while, because they both had lots of fun proposing ridiculous names just to get the other person to laugh. Never before had Harry enjoyed himself so much for so long. Always before his moments of happiness were incredibly brief, but this time the happiness lasted.

Harry's favourite memory of his life to date was when the discussions were finished and he was able to say, "I love having you as a sister. Lucy Anna Potter."

Now that they came up with a new name for Lucy, Harry went to sleep for the night. When Harry woke up in the morning, the real fun would begin, and soon Harry would find out how special he really was and begin to learn what he could do and how to control his new skills.
