Trimen and Ichiya: Now on to the story!
Chapter 6: The System's Secrets
Lucy's POV:
I was sitting on a stool surrounded by the Guild Masters. I was planning on explaining more about the G.O.G to the guilds, more than the System allowed. They needed to know what we were up against. Maybe if they knew, it would be easier to convince them to go hide somewhere while we dealt with the G.O.G. I knew that they wouldn't agree to that, but I had to try. I couldn't and wouldn't let my guild come anywhere near the System. If that happened then I would have to bow to the Head's every whim. I sighed. I felt a warm hand squeeze my own. I turned my head and saw that Natsu was still standing next to me. He hadn't left my side since I had teleported everyone to our hide out. The door to the hut slammed open and everyone around me tensed, ready for a fight. But I knew who was on the other side of that door. I knew only one person who could slam a door open like that. Hibiki and Eve leaped up and tried to tackle the person who was walking through the door. The person used two bundles, who I identified as Shin and Ace, to knock the two Blue Pegasus members away.
"Rin, you never throw stones in a grass house." I said. And our hut was literally made of grass, so it was never a good idea to throw thing inside. The small hut had a wooden frame but the walls were made of woven grass.
"Not in the mood Lulu." Rin trudged into the room. She was covered in dirt and there were several stick poking out of her messy blue hair. I heard groans coming from the corner where Ace, Shin, Hibiki and Eve were lying. I had a feeling the Rin's trip to our hide out wasn't very pleasant.
"What happened?" I asked
"Tell you about it later." She said, walking towards the shower room. I nodded. Rin must be really tired and dirty if she was taking a bath without me having to force her to. Rin believed that as long as she wasn't covered in mud, then she wasn't dirty. So I took it upon myself to force her to make her bathe every single day.
"Hey Lucy!" a voice called. I turned my head and saw Shin sitting Indian style on the floor. He had recover quickly from his crash. I raised my eyebrows ate him, asking a silent question.
"I'm going to go hunt down a Guardian for the Blue Pegasus guild. I should be back in about an hour or two." Shin said.
"Alright. But be careful. The Head probably has the system scanning the area. If you get detected by the System, go to one of the other safe houses and let me know what happened." I said.
"Roger." Shin said giving me a mock salute. He stood to his feet and turned to look to where Rin had disappeared.
"You want me to tell her after you leave right?!" I asked looking at Shin. He nodded
"You know she's going to hate you right?"
"Yeah…"
"And she's going to try to kill you when you get back."
"Yeah I know. But I move faster on my own and I don't want her getting caught." Shin said crossing his arms over his chest. Damn stupid ninja. I had known Shin for a long time. I knew that he loved Rin. But he never would admit because of some stupid shit. Shin had been an assassin before he was recruited by Sabertooth. Shin was given another chance by the old guild master and Shin turned over a new leaf. But for whatever stupid reason, Shin said he could never be happy because he had killed so many people. Shin felt so guilty that he was turning suicidal. And that was how the G.O.G found him and turned him into one of their agents. Shin would do dangerous missions and return to HQ half dead. Shin did suicide missions, hoping that one day he wouldn't come back from them. And one fateful day Rin meet Shin and somehow convinced him to tell her his life story. And when Rin found out he was trying to kill himself, she went off. She told him that he wasn't allowed to die. Shin didn't kill innocent people, but people who had committed many sins and were being sought out by the Magic Council. But murder is still murder, and Shin had no legal right to kill those sinners. Rin told Shin that he was like Robin Hood. He was just trying to right the wrong, a little bit. Rin said since he had killed those people he couldn't die until he had completely lived out those people's lives for them. And after that his conscious would be free. Rin saved Shin from killing himself and she set his soul free. I think Shin had loved Rin ever since that day. But he refuses to tell her how he feels until he is free from his ghosts. I sighed and smiled at my friend.
"If you don't tell her how you feel soon, she'll move on." I said glaring at him, mentally willing him to go tell Rin.
"I'll tell her once I'm free." He said simply and I groaned in annoyance.
"Well get going. Rin won't stay in there forever. She hates taking bathes."
"Alright." And with that Shin disappeared. Damn ninja.
I sighed again. I turned my attention back to the guild masters.
"Well then, shall we get started?" I asked, forcing myself to smile. I had a felling this wasn't going to end well.
Ace's POV:
There was a throbbing pain in my neck and I felt like I was being sat on. I forced my eyes open and saw that I was inside one of our hideouts. I tried to get up but something was hindering me from doing so. I turned my head and saw that some members form Blue Pegasus were sitting on me. I pushed them off of me and rose to my feet. I ran a hand through my hair while I tried to remember what had happened. Lucy and the guilds escaped HQ while Rin, Shin, and I held up the System. Then we escaped and we walked through the jungle… Suddenly a bunch of unpleasant memories rushed through my head. I managed to block out the memories of our trip through the jungle. That was definitely not something I wanted to relive. Rin used Shin and I to deflect an attack and then I passed out. I didn't see Shin anywhere, so I assumed he had left to go find a Guardian for the Blue Pegasus guild like he told me he would. The guilds were lounging around the front room and talking quietly. It was a good thing Lucy went to this hideout, because it was the biggest one we had. We built in case something like this ever happened. We had used tons of spell to conceal it from prying eyes and from the System. It was the safest place for the guilds but we couldn't stay here long. The System would find us eventually and we would need to relocate. I looked around and saw Lucy sitting with the Guild Masters. I was about to walk over to her, but then I saw who was standing next to her. That Salamander freak was standing next to Lucy and holding her hand! Who the hell does he think he is?! Holding Lucy's soft, delicate hands in his rough, dirty hands. If there wasn't a chance to upset Lucy about fighting, I would bash that lizards head in. (A.N: Ace is very thoughtful and he considers Lucy's feelings) So I settled for glaring at the idiotic reptile.
"Ace!" a sweet, harmonious voice stopped my glaring
"Come over here! We have a lot to discuss!" Lucy said. I practically skipped to her side. Everything would have been perfect if the moron wasn't there. Lucy was sitting on a bar stool, and the guild masters were sitting around her on an assortment of stools and chairs in a semi-circle. Salamander was standing behind her and she was leaning on him for support. I should be the one who supports Lucy! We had been on Team 0 together for a long time and I had known her way before she had met Salamander. I was grumbling and ranting in my head.
"Oi! Spiky red head! Luce has been calling you for a while now." The stupid lizard stopped my ranting. I whipped my head around and glared at him. At first he looked shocked but then he started glaring right back.
"Ace? Are you ok?" Lucy asked, looking up at me.
"Oh! Yes Lucy, I'm ok! I was just plotting a way to get back at Rin for throwing me into a wall." I lied smoothly. Lucy looked at me skeptically but nodded her head, showing that she accepted my answer. Lucy turned back to the guild masters.
"I'm going to tell you all about the System. Once I start talking I can't stop because I might not be able to start again." Lucy said. Her voice was echoing around the now silent room. Lucy took a deep breath and began speaking.
"The System was created a few years after the G.O.G was founded. The G.O.G was having trouble keeping track of their agents. Many agents were deeply undercover and wouldn't surface for years. Sometimes if agents were killed, the G.O.G had no way of knowing that they were dead. That was why the System was created. It was supposed to be a magic machine that could trace our whereabouts and know whether we were alive or if we had been killed. The System was created by a mage name Howard Randolph. He created the System for righteous purposes but he was a man of science, and he saw the hidden potential in his creation. Some saw he was driven made by the numbers and the power and most say he was already crazy. But Randolph somehow installed his mind and inelegance into the computer. The System now that it had human intelligence, invented a program to keep track of agents and make us stronger. The program was called the Judgment Initiation. We were told that the program would be able to trace us and it would make us stronger. The G.O.G recruited the people the System told them to because only they could handle the program. The agents who were recruited were all put in chambers and their genetic makeup was downloaded into the System. Then the system went through lists of magic that we would be able to do and then they forced our bodies to learn the magic. It was beyond painful. It felt like we were being ripen apart and being put together the wrong way. The pain was even worse for those who already knew magic. If you old magic was compatible with the new magic it was ripped from you and the new magic was shoved in. My Celestial magic was compatible with my new magic, The Angel, but many had their magic stolen from them. Once we had our new magic, the System put a magic spell on all of us. That spell kept us from revolting against the System. The spell would kill us if the Head or the System gave the word. But the only flaw in the spell is that the agent has to be logged into the system. So if an agent goes rouge, but is never logged into the System then they can't be terminated. And the tracker spells can be easily confused using simple diversion and illusions spells. The System is believed to be evil because it experimented on humans during the Judgment Initiative. The program had never been used before and we were used as the G.O.G's guinea pigs. The System is a force to be reckoned with because it has electronic eyes in every lacrima everywhere. There are G.O.G members on the Magic Council who always vote in the Systems favor and they convince the others to vote as well. So if we ever managed to get information on what happened during the Judgment Initiative, no one would ever believe us and then we would be terminated. Until we can figure out what to do about the System, everyone has to stay away from all lacrimas. If you use a lacrima then the System can get your genetic information and it would be able to terminate you." Lucy said. She took a deep breath. She had been talking for a while an d she was probably thirsty. Before I could run to go get her water, a pale hand handed Lucy a glass. Mira was standing in front of Lucy, smiling.
"Here you go Lucy!" Mira said, cheerfully.
"Thanks Mira." Lucy said, accepting the glass gratefully. She knocked the water back in one long gulp.
"Gosh Lulu! You were thirsty!" a voice said. Rin walked out of the bathroom dressed in black sweat pants, a blue tank top, and black boots.
"Well I did just give a long winded speech." Lucy said looking at Rin. She gave Rin a hard stare and Rin stared back. After a few minutes Rin stopped looking at Lucy and kicked a stool that was nearby.
"That damn ninja bastard!" Rin yelled, savaglly kicking the stool again.
"Rin stop kicking that." Lucy said calmly.
"Why should I?!" Rin exclaimed.
"Because you know as well as I do that we barley have enough furniture as it is. We don't need you breaking what we already have. And Shin said he would be back in an hour or two, so calm down."
"But..!" Lucy gave Rin a hard look and Rin pouted and plopped down on the stool.
"I still don't get how you do that." I said.
"What?" Lucy asked.
"Talk to her without telepathy."
"I really don't know either." Lucy said, a thoughtfull expression on her face.
"Maybe its because you guys know each other so well and you trust each other." Salamander offered.
"Ha! I think your right Natsu!" Lucy said, smiling at him. Stupid Salamander. I began grumbling again.
"I know I'm right! Me and happy do that all the time." Salamander said grinning this stupid grin. Lucy looked up at him and blushed. Why was she blushing?! The idiot was just smiling!
"But Natsu, all Happy thinks about is fish, Charles, and more fish. Even I know what he's thinking about." Lucy said. The blue exceed flew up to Lucy and poked her nose.
"That's mean Lusshe! I think about other stuff!" Happy cried, pouting.
"First of all my name is Lucy not Lusshe. And second of all what else do you think about?!"
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make any noise?" Happy said mater of factly. The room went silent for a few moments before everyone started laughing. The room was no longer somber and bleak with the talk of the horrors of the Judgment Initiative, but light and cheerful, and everyone was smiling. The Trimen were chasing women. Erza was eating strawberry cake and Jellal was watching her. Elfman was shouting about being a man and Evergreen was trying to kill him. Jura was talking with Gilladarts, who I had no idea was here, and Cana and Bachhus were drinking. Sting and Rouge were having, from the looks of it, a serious conversation. The guild master were talking animatedly about the next Magic Games. Freed was showing Rufus some runes and Mira was working behind the bar, which I didn't know we had, happily. Happy was sitting on Lucy's head and Natsu had her wrapped up in his arms.
Wait…. What?! I stormed over to the lizard and knocked him off of MY Lucy. (A.N: say what?! Your' Lucy! It's Nalu! Not Lacy!") Before I could yell at Salamander for touching Lucy a chair hit me in the face.
"Hey! Hot head! I'm the only one who can beat the crap out of Natsu!" Gray shouted. Salamander jumped to his feet and glared at Grey.
"You think you can beat me?! You damn ice prick!" Natsu raged.
"I know I can! Ash-for-brains!" Gray said slamming his head against Natsu's. Their magic auras were clashing against each other and they looked about ready to kill each other. Suddenly a table hit Gray and Natsu and knocked them to the ground.
"I could beat both of you with both my hands tied behind my back!" Lucy proclaimed, standing on top of a stool. She turned to the other guilds. "The pointless and mindless all out guild brawl has begun!" She announced, and with that she began to fight Natsu and Gray. After a few moments guild members began to join in the brawl, all except for the guild masters, Jura-san, and Giladarts of course. If they started fighting our base would be destroyed. People were flying everywhere, and I had to dodge Lyon-san's flying body, because Gray had kicked him away.
"She doesn't belong to you, ya know that right?" Rin said, magically appearing by my side, away from the fray. I was starting to think that Rin was picking up some ninja moves from Shin.
"I know."
"Good. Because as Lulu's soul sister, I'm going to make sure whoever Lulu is with makes her happy. And if that person is Salamander then so be it. But if you try to jeopardize her happiness in any way, may the gods help you, cause they are going to be the only things sanding in my way from destroying you." Rin said and she walked off to the bar.
I sighed. I knew I had no claim on Lucy. But we would be perfect together. She was beautiful. I was beautiful. She was smart and I am too. She came from a rich family and I had as well. We were perfect for each other and I just had to make her see that. That uncivilized, ignorant Salamander wasn't a good match for Lucy. But if Lucy did love him then I couldn't interfere. I was honestly afraid of Rin when she was really upset. While I was mulling over this, I hadn't notice that someone had walked into the hideout. And I guess everyone else was too busy brawling to notice as well.
"Oi! SHUT UP!" a voice yelled. Everyone turned to see Shin standing in the middle of the room.
"Shin! You're back!" Rin said excitedly. "You are so going to regret leaving without telling me yourself, you cowardly ninja bastard." Rin said evilly, her scary, demonic aura flowing around her. I swear I saw Shin shiver, but it must have been a trick of the light.
"I found a Guardian, Lucy." Shin said, completely disregarding what Rin had said. I heard her shout of indignation. "But the System somehow sensed me, so it won't be long until it finds this place. We have at least an hour to get to a new location."
I could tell that Lucy was slipping into leader mode.
"So we get the new Guardian set up. Then we move everyone to a new location. I told everyone about the System already so going back to the guilds isn't an option anymore. Or at least until the System gets tired of looking. Rin get a portal up and running. We are going to Azar. Ace go find the Guardian kit and also go find Lola." Lucy gave out her orders. Rin scampered off to go find the portal book. I stayed a few moments, I wanted to see who this new guardian was.
"Shin where is the Guardian?" Lucy asked.
"Oh. I told them to wait outside until I had talked everything out with you." Shin said. "You can come on in now!" Shin shouted at the door. The door opened slowly and the sunlight shone through. And the Guardian for Blue Pegasus walked in.
Yay! Its done! Phew! Took me a while to finish this one! Hope you all liked it! Its just as fun writing about a jealous Natsu as it is writing about a jealous Ace. And don't worry G.O.G fans, this is a nalu. But I just want to make some drama for latter
