Prowl could feel the tension rise in the air, he glanced over to Red Alert who hunched down. Prowl wondered what caused Jazz to change his personality so suddenly, deciding to take a peak over his shoulders, he looked into Jazz's house for the first time.
His optics could see that the house looked ten times smaller then it did from the out side, the one room that held a kitchen in the back right corner, the dinning table in the center of the room and the lounge room on the left side of the room. Other items like, instruments, bookshelf, ornaments and other things were spread out through the room. He also noticed that the back wall of this room had two doors that most likely led to a shared bedroom and a wash rack.
Prowl would have continued observing the house, but his attention was drawn to the two mechs sitting at the chairs on the left side of the room. One mech had a murky blue and silver paint job, scratched and dented from not seeing any care in awhile. While the other mech was a gold and black, so shiny, he looked like he lived in the towers, his plating flawless. This making him seem very out of place, much like him and Red Alert.
The shiny mech had a grin plastered to his face, while the other mech looked a little in distress, much like Jazz is now. Mostly this guest was very unwanted by the host, and this didn't settle well for Prowl.
"Hello, Jazz. It has been awhile." The mech's grin widen as he stood from the chair he used to occupy. "I'm here to check on your old mech here. See how your doing, I see you have friends over, they seem to be a little out of your social class, but I'm not here to judge." The mech then moved closer to Jazz, he grabbed Jazz's shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. "I was just about to leave too, though it was great to see you." The mech left after those words, giving Prowl and Red Alert a polite nod on his way out.
Red Alert ducked his head when the mech looked at him, not sure on what to think about him, but by the reactions Jazz gave towards him, he was not a mech you should be friends with. The smaller white and red mech glanced at Jazz, seeing him calm down a little. "J-Jazz, who was he?"
"Ah mech tha has been tryin' ta take our house for some time now." Jazz answered with a growl, the dislike clear on his face.
"Jazz." A calm, smooth voice called out, which Jazz responded to with a weak smile. "That mech will not take our house, I have signed nothing, meaning I still own this home of ours. Though now is not a good time to discuss this, please, introduce your friends."
The change of topics was good for Jazz, it calmed him completely, taking his mind to other, more pleasant things. "This is Prowl an' Red Alert." Jazz spoke pointing at both the mechs as he named them.
"Wow, y-you have such a strong accent Jazz, but your father doesn't even have a trace of it." Red Alert said before covering his mouth, nervous for maybe he might of hurt one or both Jazz and his father for commenting on their accents.
The older mech chuckled, walking closer to the three younger mechs. "Jazz gets his accent from his mother, who had a very strong Polyhexen accent. I remember when I first met her, I could hardly understand a thing she was saying."
Jazz smiled at the mention of his mother, even though he didn't really remember her, he still carried on a part of her. He may have gotten her accent and looks from her, but his brothers were much more like their father then their mother.
"Then you do not come from Polyhex?" Prowl questioned.
"No, I come from here, lower Iacon. Even though we never had much money, I wanted Jazz to go to the best school he could, that's where a lot of my money went, but it's worth it." The older mech smiled at his son, proud of Jazz.
Prowl nodded, "Doing something for a loved one, especially your child is worth everything you have." The black and white Praxian smiled, lost in thought for a moment.
"You sound like you already have a child?"
Prowl nodded again, "I do, Bluestreak means a lot to me and I'll do anything for him." The Praxian paused, a thought coming to him. "I heard that you have three children sir, do they go to a expensive school like Jazz?"
The older mech sighed, "No, I do not have the money as of yet, but when I do, hopefully I can get them to one."
"Right! Lets not get all sad here, ah want ta show ya guys aroun' before snacks." Jazz cut in, pulling Red Alert and Prowl to another room. "Ah hope ya don' mind making us somethin'." Jazz called to his father, who answered with a chuckle and a nod.
They spent about an hour in the shared room, there was a bunk bed and a single bed, which was very unusual for a family of four. "Jazz, may I ask you a question?"
"Sure, mech."
"Where does your father sleep?" Prowl asked, he felt like he was invading privacy asking this, it's none of his business where anyone sleeps in this house. Prowls thoughts were brought to a abrupt stop at Jazz's chuckle.
"Prowl, ma dad sleeps in here, it's ma younger brother who doesn't sleep in here, ah don't know why. But, he sleeps in tha shed in tha back, it's now made as his bedroom." Jazz answered, a grin plastered to his face.
They were all interrupted, by a young bot entering the room. Who paused at the door at seeing Jazz's guest, though he wasn't there long, the young bot bounced up to the closet bot, who was Red Alert. He said with a big grin, "Wow, you must be Jazz's rich school friends, if I had known you were coming, I would have cleaned up and made the house look way much better then it does-" The first thing Red Alert and Prowl noticed, was that this young bot clearly did not have Jazz's accent, more like their fathers. It was so different, they were unsure if this was really Jazz's younger brother.
"- I would have also come home earlier and cooked some snacks, we don't get friends much, you know that, I would have even made myself look better, I must look ugly to you with the way I am-"
"Record."
"- Wait just one second though." He stopped speaking, a bright flash and clicking sound taking his place. "Thank you so much, wow, you guys look amazing in photos-"
"Record!" The sudden shout from Jazz, caused everything in the room to stop. The white mech sighed before speaking, "How many times have ah told ya not ta take photos without asking, plus tha house looks fine, ya look fine..." Jazz took a deep breath. "What do ya want?"
The bright orange and white mech laughed, it sounded like bells ringing through the room, it carried a beautiful note to it and it must sound much better when the mech sings. Well, Red Alert thought so, he has never really met a mech as happy as he is, Jazz doesn't even reach that joyfulness. But The red and white mech loved the sound of his voice, and he wouldn't mind listening to it for a while longer.
"Jazz, this is my room too, plus I have wanted to meet your friends since forever." The mostly orange mech turned to Prowl, "Did you know, that Jazz has songs written about you, I have seen them, do you-" He never got to finish his sentence as Jazz lunged at him, gripping him tightly and covering his mouth.
"Don't listen ta him, Prowl!" Jazz yelled out, while trying kick his brother out of the room.
Prowl smiled and Red Alert giggled, the Praxian was unsure of how Jazz's younger brother knows the songs are written about him, they have never met. But the younger mech was sure confident that they were about him. This thought made Prowl feel honored, embarrassed and happy, his spark beat faster as his thoughts wondered on what the lyrics say about him.
Soon, Jazz finally got his brother out of the room and sat back down with his friends. Prowl gave him a moment to take a breather before asking him a question.
"So... Jazz. Where are these songs about me?"
Jazz ducked his head, embarrassed about his secrets coming out. Red Alert laughed at Jazz's face, he thought it was quite funny that Jazz now had his secret free, and having them told to someone who was most likely the last person you want for them to know.
"It's nothing."
Prowl nodded, Jazz might show him another time. They were then interrupted again, Jazz was about to yell at the other mech who entered the room, but was stopped by the smell of treats. Jazz's father placed the tray of treats between them and smiled, leaving soon after.
"Oh, these are wonderful." Red Alert said after taking the first bite into his treat.
"Thanks, ma dad makes them real good." Jazz smiled, also biting into his treat.
Before it was too late, the tray of treats were empty. They were starting to get ready for leaving, before they left the house though, the door was opened by another bot, younger then Jazz and his brother, he was easily the youngest of them all. But, unlike Jazz or Record, this mech held no smile, not even a greeting when he entered.
The room went quiet, even Jazz seemed to change. "Tempo, nice of ya ta arrive."
Tempo, a silver and red mech, nodded but said nothing, didn't even acknowledged Prowl or Red Alert. The quiet mech walked across the room to a small, hidden door on the side, opening it and leaving. The silence filled the room momentarily before Prowl broke it, "Is that your younger brother too, the one that sleeps in the shed?"
"Yeah, that's him. Ah don't know what happened ta us, we were close when we were younger, but then it changed." Jazz replied, he wished he could fix what has felt like been lost for a very long time. Though he bounced right back into a happier mood, hiding his hurt behind a smile. "But it's fine, we will fix it. Thank ya guys for coming over, see ya next week at school!"
Prowl and Red Alert smiled, both hugging Jazz before leaving. Jazz wanted to get them home as this area was new, but they both refused as it was a long way and then he'd just have to come back. So, the two mechs left and started on down the streets to the nearest train station.
The train trip was long, Prowl and Red Alert talked the whole time, about Jazz and his family. They liked them, but Jazz's younger brother worried them both, they seemed so distant and Prowl hoped they could mend their relationship before it's too late. Once the train trip was over, Prowl walked his smaller companion home before going to his own.
When Prowl arrived home, he was tired, he didn't stay out this late much, only when he stays back late at the school library to study, but usually that's because he has tests or he just doesn't want to go home. But now, it's because he was at a friends, and that makes him feel good inside. Once he reached the door, he opened it and strode inside, his mother was no where in sight, most likely resting now.
When he got upstairs, and walked down the hallway to his room, he saw Bluestreak sleeping soundly in his smaller berth, the side bars not raised up all the way, that didn't bother Prowl too much. But he did pull them up just for safe keeping before going to his own berth, shutting down into recharge.
A/N: The ending seems rushed to me, even though I wrote it twice because I forgot to save it when I closed the word document (Silly me), but I guess it will do.
Thanks for reading :D
