A/N - I know I already had a Christmas themed one but I just had to write this. Merry Christmas everyone!

"Merry Christmas." Penny mumbled to nobody in particular dejectedly as she crawled back into bed, dropping her head onto Leonard's chest with a groan.

"Merry Christmas to you too." Having only just awoken upon hearing the toilet flush, it took Leonard a few seconds to gain his senses. He frowned as he sniffed before turning his head away from her. "Penny no offense but something is seriously wrong with your hair."

"Ugh. Sorry." Penny lifted her head off of him and turned over so she was facing away from him. "That's what happens when you're not there to hold back my hair while I'm being sick."

"You were sick? When?" Leonard turned onto his side, instantly running his hand comfortingly over her back.

"I've gotten up like three times this morning to be sick."

"Why didn't you wake me?"

"I was too busy trying not to throw up on you to wake you." Penny sighed. "I shouldn't have had lunch from that dodgy looking chicken place yesterday. No wonder it was so cheap."

"Well... I was going to give you a 'Merry Christmas' morning kiss but I think I'll just go get you some water instead."

"I don't feel that bad," Penny turned onto her back so she could see him and gave him puppy dog eyes. "Coffee and some toast maybe? And then I'll brush my teeth and we can revisit that idea of a morning Christmas kiss."

Leonard chuckled. "Alright. But you'll also need to do something about your hair."

"I'll wash the sick out while you make breakfast." Penny assured him.

"Okay honey. Mini breakfast in bed coming right up."

Penny grinned as he got up, lying there for a few more seconds before rolling out of bed for the fourth time that morning and dragging herself into the bathroom. She washed the offending vomit out of the ends of her hair and then gave the toilet a quick round of bleach before getting back into bed.

After a few seconds, she called out "Leonard?"

"Yeah?"

"Could you maybe make some bacon with that toast?"

"Sure, if you feel like eating I'll make that."

"Great. And some eggs too. Ooh, and a sausage... and see if we have any potato waffles too in the freezer! Actually no, scratch the potato waffles, I don't want those. But definitely sausage, egg and bacon. Lots of bacon."

She heard him laugh and she shut her eyes for a few seconds, listening to him working his way around the kitchen. Hearing him get the plates out, she rolled over to his side and leaned off the edge of the bed to pick his laptop up from the floor and get the Christmas episode of Doctor Who up to watch while they ate. He came back in a few minutes later and to her surprise, she finished all her food without any further sickness. Clearly three times in one morning had been enough to empty her stomach of the offending lunch she'd had the day before.

"So do you want your Christmas present now or do you want it later?" Penny asked once they had put their plates aside.

"Which one are you talking about?" Leonard smirked.

"Either. You can have this," she shuffled closer to him, "now - or you can have it later and have the present I wrapped now."

"I'm not sure I want to risk sexwhen you've just been sick."

"True. That's a bit of a mood killer, huh?" Penny bit her lip. "But I'm too lazy to get back out of bed and go to the tree."

"The tree is in the living room like five steps from the bed!"

"But it's Christmas! We can be as lazy as we like! We're not kids anymore Leonard, we don't get up at seven in the morning and wake our parents up to open our presents. We're the grown ups now and we can just... lie here. It's not like we have anyone to wake us up, might as well take advantage of it."

"I never did the whole waking my parents up thing anyway. We wrote papers, remember?"

"So today you stay in bed with me and we don't write any papers or get out of bed at a stupid hour. Just watch loads of television on your laptop and then we can open the presents later."

"That sounds good to me. I have a present I can redeem from you in bed anyway." Leonard grinned cheekily.

Nudging him, Penny giggled. "Are you gonna give me a present in bed too?"

"You consider that a present from me?"

"Oh yes."

"Cool." Leonard puffed out his chest proudly.

"Ooh, if I redeem it now we should so use chocolate syrup. I really want chocolate syrup."

"That's... uh, interesting."

"Mmm." Penny nodded. "Do we have chocolate syrup?"

"We bought some for the pancakes yesterday, remember? You insisted on pancakes and chocolate syrup." Leonard shook his head. "I thought we weren't doing that now anyway just in case you're sick?"

"Oh yeah." Penny slumped back, but she instantly shot back up with wide eyes. "Oh my God!"

"What?" Leonard replied cautiously.

Penny grasped his arm. "Do the math."

"What math?"

"You're the genius here!"

"What are you talking about? I need some less vague statements!"

"Ugh, it's kinda obvious, Leonard." Penny slapped his arm before gripping it tightly again. "I was meant to have my period last week... but that's always been hit and miss. The sickness in the morning. The cravings. And my boobs are definitely a little bit bigger. I know you can't tell but I can."

"Umm..." Leonard started at her for a moment, utterly confused. Then it hit him. "Oh. Are you... are you sure?"

"Wait right here." Penny jumped out of bed, heart racing.

"Umm... what for? You know most places are shut on Christmas Day."

"I have some spares in the bathroom. Last time there was an offer and I was really panicked so I bought a few extras just in case. That's forward thinking for you!" Penny said from the bathroom, rummaging through the medicine cabinet and locating what she was looking for.

There was silence for a couple of minutes, then Leonard heard the toilet flush and Penny came out of the bathroom.

"You should probably wash your hands." Leonard told her, not sure what else to say.

"Good idea." Penny nodded. She hesitated for a moment before heading back into the bathroom to wash her hands. When she returned, she got back into bed and looked at Leonard who gave her an encouraging nod. She put the pregnancy stick down on the bed in front of them. "So..."

"Yeah."

"It's kind of... unexpected. I mean, we haven't really talked about it."

"No, we haven't." Leonard agreed.

They were silent again for a few seconds, both staring at the upside down test. "I'd like for it to be positive." Penny admitted quietly.

Smiling, Leonard took her hand. "Me too."

Biting her lip, she looked at him curiously. "We can still do the chocolate syrup thing if it's positive, right?"

"I don't see why not." Leonard laughed. Suddenly he felt a lot calmer about the whole thing. "You know, this would be a pretty great Christmas present."

"It'd be the last time we get to just have a lazy Christmas Day. Aren't you glad I suggested we do that now, huh?" Penny stuck her tongue out. "We'll have a little Hofstadter crying to wake us up and then we'll spoil the baby with presents."

"Will you still give me your annual Christmas present of this?"

"Leonard!" Penny gasped, mocking shock, before patting his thigh. "Of course I will. It's become one of the best parts of Christmas."

"Good. Just checking." Leonard nodded. "You're really set on this chocolate syrup thing aren't you?"

"Very much so." Penny leaned over to kiss him. "I think it's time to check it. You turn it over; think of it as an extra present."

"Okay. Here we go." Leonard took a deep breath.

He felt Penny squeezing his hand with all her might and in the instant he turned it over, he knew the next time she'd be squeezing it so tight would be when she was giving birth.

"Positive! Yes!" Penny squealed, jumping up. "I'll get the chocolate syrup! Pants off, Daddy, Mommy is all geared up to celebrate."
