Ash winced as Nurse Joy rubbed an antidote onto the areas of his skin where the Tentacool poison had touched. It burned a lot as the medicine fought and destroyed the poison that was swarming through his body.

"I swear the youth today are getting even more reckless. Going off and attacking a swarm of Tentacool. Yep, thats a 'great' idea.", she exasperated as she bounded his arm with a tight bandage.

"Make sure not to get sea water on that. The poison is still in your system, and it'll only get stronger the more times its exposed to sea water.", Nurse Joy said as she stood up and washed her hands.

"The baby Lapras and your Dratini have already made a full recovery. Tough little things. Especially that Dratini of yours you trained it well."

Ash looked down shyly as he spoke, "I didn't train it. In fact he hardly listens to me."

"Really? Dratini was quite concerned about your well being. Its hard to heal a thrashing dragon."

Ash looked up at Nurse Joy with surprise as she handed him his armor.

"You kids should stop growing up so fast. Enjoy what you have right now. Stop thinking of the past, that is not what judges the future. The deeds of the present are what does that. That is why it is a gift. You can control the future.", she said, her voice full of melancholy.

Ash stood up as he attached his scabbard to his belt and tucking his helmet under his arm. He quickly grabbed Lapras' and Dratini's pokeball and was about to walk out the room when the door opened up.

"Abigail!" Lt. Surge exclaimed catching them both of guard. He still donned his brown and yellow rider armor and his mighty spear was still strapped to his back.

"Surge! Why didn't you tell me when you arrived?" Nurse Joy asked as she went up to her towering friend.

"Returned a couple of days ago, bringing in the next batch of recruits and sending a detachment to Fort Ozone and Odin. Also got to get Shockwave company back to full strength, lost quite a few men after that siege. I just finished, when I was browsing through the medical files when I found an old war veteran of mine had been entered. So I came to visit."

Both Ash and Nurse Joy were confused by his statment. Nurse Joy more so than Ash.

"You mean Mr. Ketchum? Surge I think you got the wrong room. He hasn't seen any wars or battles I bet." Ash bristled a bit at her comment. He had seen far more blood than most adult would in their life time.

"Oh thats where you are wrong Abby. Ash is one of the most accomplished warriors that I have seen. He and his friends personally halted and killed over half of the raiding party that we were chasing.", Nurse Joy gained a surprised look and she turned to Ash to see if Lt Surge was telling the truth. He was.

"He also assisted in defending Fort Ozone, one of the bloodiest fights I have ever been in. In my eyes he is more than deserving of the title of veteran."

"Oh I'm sorry Mr. Ketchum. If you excuse me I have to attend to other patients." she said as she walked out of the room. They stayed in silence for awhile before Lt. Surge spoke again.

"So a pod of Tentacool got ya?" "More like an armada. There were so many."

Surge gained a questionable look before he spoke.

"They shouldn't be this close to land during this time of year, especially in such great numbers."

"Maybe it has something to do with the abominations? Like those Silverwings? They were scared off by something."

Lt. Surge once again grew a pensive face before he turned to Ash.

"What I am about to show you is highly sensitive. This project could make Kanto the most powerful country of the known world."

"What is it?"
