When the two teachers returned to work the following day, Nicki made sure to avoid Tom.
It had been so weird... last night...
Tom had always been such a great friend... and now he was something more.
Nicki wasn't sure why she was so surprised: Tom was always there for her. He was like the best person in the world to her.
She guessed it was just weird. She'd never really felt like this before.
It was impossible to describe really.
She just hoped that tom felt the same way about her.
She felt too cowardly to face him in the corridors or in the staff room so she spent most of her time up in the PRU, sorting out some papers for her classes.
perhaps she was just being stupid. If she didn't talk to tom then surely he'd lose interest sooner or later. She loved him too much for that to ever happen.
That night she text him: Do you fancy a drink tonight
It seemed to take him an age to reply:
Sure :)
Nicki almost gasped. He had agreed?!
She had to start getting ready then!
