"Come on, Burn, were goin'." Gambit nodded, staring at her.

"No, Pa, I told you," Burn sighed, "I'm stayin' here."

Bernadette shuffled a little but kept a stern glare at her father. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, looking like he was going to say something but furrowing his brow and changing his mind.

"You're being a fool, girl."

"That's your thought, pa. I think I am happy here, with him," Bernadette stood up a little straighter then and drew in a deep breath. She watched her father look at her angrily. He looked like he was confused, and he was.

"Why is it, you wanna stay here with this foul man, Bernadette, huh?" Her father shouted.

"Because it sure as hell beats followin' you around like a lil' pup. I happen to like Wade Wilson, I like him a lot. Not many people look past that outer layer and see what's really underneath. A kind, caring, wonderful man, who deserves no less than everything. I might not be what he deserves but, he likes me bein' around and I like to be around him, all the time. If he wants me to leave then that's the day I will, but it will not be today with you."

The silence that followed was deafening.

Remy stood up straight and his jaw tightened. He drew in a slow breath and knitted his eyebrows again. He swallowed hard and took a step back, opening his mouth slowly, "You best know that if you get kicked out by this... this capon of a salaud… I won't be there to take you-"

"Hello, pudding pop, I'm home!" Deadpool yelled from the living room window where he had just jumped in. As he stood up completely, he noticed Gambit standing angrily in the hall way, "hey there, Remy! How've you been?"

"Shut your goddamn mouth, bioque!" He growled back.

"Bioque..?" Deadpool mumbled, confused, "look, I don't know what that means but chill."

"I will not 'chill', Wilson! I'm leavin'!" Remy turned on his heel and slammed the door shut behind him.

Wade blinked a few times, then turned to Bern, who was tearing up a little and clenching her fists.

"Mind explaining why daddy-o just cursed me? I think…" Deadpool asked touching her arm.

"I told him I wasn't going back with him and he told me never to come back," Bern explained calmly, while holding back tears.

"Oh… Bern… You can stay with me, eh?" Wade laughed softly, wrapping his arms around her and sitting his chin on her head. She chuckled a little then nodded.

"You don't mind?" She asked pulling away from the warm embrace some and placing her hands on his chest.

"Baby girl, I would love for you to stay here as long as you can tolerate me," Wade smiled, the faint outline showing through his mask.

Bernadette smiled back and reached up to pull off his mask. He flinched a little at first but let her. She pulled it away and let it fall to the floor.

"Sorry…" Wade mumbled.

"For what?" She asked.

"Y'know..." He motioned to his face.

"I happen to love your face, beau." Bern grinned, touching his cheek softly and pushing up on her tip toes to kiss his forehead. Wade looked into Bern's eyes with that same hopefully, sweet face she'd seen before.

He blinked a few times. He seemed shocked about the simple, loving gesture. Like he was unsure if she meant to show him that kind of affection.

"Don't ever let someone tell you you don't deserve happy, Wade Wilson. You are a beautiful person."
