"Ah, it's such a nice day. So warm and sunny with the wind blowing." Tyrus sighed as he laid on the soft grass.
"Lightning Flame Dragon's Crushing Fang!" I chanted out as I sliced five claw marks into the side of a cliff.
"Or not…" Tyrus muttered with an annoyed look on his face.
"Lightning Flame Dragon's Claw!" I yelled as I swung around my fire and lightning engulfed foot smack into the cliff side. The force of the blow created a large crater to form.
I jumped back and immediately the lightning stopped flashing around me and I was on one knee panting and sweating.
"Damn, I can still only use two moves before my magic completely runs out!" I muttered to myself.
"Why are you training on a perfect day like this?" Tyrus asked as he walked up to me.
I didn't answer, I just merely narrowed my eyes and gritted my teeth.
"Seeing everyone's magic power level get so high made me realise that I fell way behind. I have a seven year gap of training to make up for, starting with increasing my magic power to use Lightning Flame Dragon Mode." I said determinedly as I stared at my clenched fist.
"You never change." Tyrus and I turned our heads to see Laxus walking towards us.
"And what's that?" I asked amused as I stood up and crossed my arms.
"A major pet peeve of yours is someone calling you weak. It gets in your head and it won't leave until you get stronger." Laxus pointed out and stopped right in front of me.
"And who was the one that made me that way in the first place?" I retorted.
Laxus rolled his eyes, "I get it. I'm the main reason for most of your problems and you're never gonna let me forget it." He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to where my arms rested against his chest.
"Hm, damn right I won't let you. Not after all those seven years of torture that came from you." Laxus let out a deep chuckle and leaned down to give me a love filled kiss on the lips.
"Awe~!" We were snapped out of the moment by Tyrus. I kinda forgot he was there...we both did.
Laxus broke off the kiss to glare my feline partner who was giggling with his paws covering his mouth.
"They're in loooooooove~!" Tyrus teased as he floated up in the air.
"Shut it, cat." Laxus threaten with venom in his voice.
"You've been hanging around Happy too much." I deadpanned. I know where he got that catchphrase from and sadly it's the annoying one.
"Anyway, that's not what I came here for." Laxus stated as he crossed his arms.
"Then what is it?" Tyrus asked as he perched on my shoulder.
"While you two were gone, Gramps held a little meeting for the guild. Apparently to gain back our title of being the strongest we're entering something called the Grand Magic Games."
"Grand Magic Games? What is that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"It's an event where guilds from all around Fiore come together to compete to see who will earn the title "Strongest Guild in Fiore". Fairy Tail is dead last right now but Gramps is aiming to change that." Laxus stated with a small smirk on his face.
"If Fairy Tail is last, then who's currently the strongest?" Tyrus asked, tilting his head.
"A nobody guild from seven years ago called Sabertooth. Apparently over the seven years they got a new guild master, five new members and rose to the top."
"It took only five members? These guys must be seriously strong." I said as I pounded my right fist into my palm with a smirk on my face.
Laxus let out a chuckle, "Slow down, there's more." How much news does he have!?
"Okay, then what is it?" I asked crossing my arms.
"Well Gramps tried to retire and give Gildarts the title of guild master…" Laxus paused to let that sink in.
"Wait...tried? So it didn't work?"
"Not exactly, he did two things as guild master. For one, he reassigned Gramps as guild master," I sweatdropped at that, "and two, he made me a member of the guild again." A huge smile broke out onto my face.
"That's great!" I yelled as I tackled him in a hug. Out of reflex, Laxus wrapped his arms around me when I jumped on him.
"No kidding, we got one of our strongest members back!" Tyrus cheered.
Laxus set me down on the ground but I didn't let go of him and neither did he let go of me.
"I have to add one more thing. We're all training for the Grand Magic Games in three months. This is the main reason why I came to find you. Did you want to train with the Thunder Legion?" Laxus asked as I looked up at him.
"I have my own team to train with." I stated and rose an eyebrow.
"Well I don't see the harm in training half of the three months with the Thunder Legion than the other half with our team." Tyrus pointed out.
"See, Tyrus makes a point." Laxus said smirking.
I let out a sigh, "Fine, sign me up."
"Now that's more like it." I rolled my eyes as Laxus gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"Go home and pack, we're leaving first thing in the morning." I nodded and with that Laxus left to do some of his own packing.
"Well there's your chance to get stronger." Tyrus encouraged.
"No kidding, and you better believe I'll be kicking it into high gear!" I said determinedly.
"Finally we're here!" Tyrus cheered and floated above the old ruins.
He suddenly stopped and surveyed the area. He blinked several times before he started to sulk.
"Why did we not go with Natsu and the others to the beach to train? That is our normal team and besides there's no where to relax here after walking so far." Tyrus sighed.
"Walking?! Oh give me a break! You flew all the way here! Your paws didn't even touch the ground!" I yelled and whacked my feline partner on the head.
"Ow! Vez, that hurt!" Tyrus whined and held his paws on his head.
"It was supposed to! And besides we're supposed to be training not relaxing!" I added and quickly adjusted my backpack strap before it slipped off.
"We can do both." Tyrus huffed and crossed his arms.
"We're training for the Grand Magic Games, we have to be serious." I sneered at my partner.
By now both of us had our arms crossed and were slightly glaring at each other.
Meanwhile…
No P.O.V
Three Fairy Tail Wizards watched the two argue with sweat drops all falling down their heads.
"Sheesh they're loud." Bickslow comment.
"Loud!" Bickslow's six totem pole dolls chorused.
"Well she IS part of Natsu's team. They are never quiet." Freed said with a sigh.
"Hard to believe they're considered Fairy Tail's strongest team, although I am curious to see how their team trains." Evergreen mused.
"You should be focusing on your training, not Vez's or her teams." All three of them stopped talking hearing the familiar deep baritone voice.
"Right, sorry Laxus we'll start right away." Freed apologized with a bow.
The three of them walked off leaving Laxus standing there with his purple sleeved arms crossed, and his normal coat hung over his shoulders. His blue-gray eyes shifted from his teammates to the pinkette and orange cat still bickering.
He let out a sigh and wondered how someone like Vez could be so strong yet still act like a complete child. Oh yeah, she's Natsu's twin so she has to share some genes with him other than the pink hair. He shook his head and uncrossed his arms and started to walk over to them.
Vez's P.O.V
Tyrus and I growled at each other until my ears picked up the sound of heavy footsteps coming towards us. Both of us stopped and turned our heads to see Laxus standing there with a scowl on his face.
"Both of you knock it off. We're here to train not to argue." Laxus scolded.
"Eh?" I gave Laxus an accusing look, "If memory serves you're the one that invited us to come with you and the Thunder Legion instead of my team. You got us so you have to deal with us." I retorted and crossed my arms.
"And it wouldn't kill you to try and be serious." Laxus fired back and he narrowed his eyes at me.
Tyrus and I glanced at each other and burst into laughter. That irritated Laxus because his jaw was clenched and his eye was twitching slightly from trying to control his anger.
"And what," I stopped laughing when Laxus abruptly got close to my face with a hard glare, "Exactly is so funny?" Laxus finished his sentence.
I returned the glare with a grin, "You do know what team we're on right? We're only serious when there's something going on." With that I took a step backwards to get away from Laxus' glare.
"Don't bother with us. We'll be doing our own training in the forest, so don't worry about us changing things for the Thunder Legion." I said and walked off to the forest with Tyrus flying beside me.
My waistcoat jacket and scarf landed were lying on a nearby rock. I always trained in my black fitting exercise tank top. I took a deep breath and gathered fire in my mouth.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Fire streamed out of my mouth and crushed through the rocks in front of me.
"How was that?" I called out to Tyrus in the air.
"Great, all five boulders were crushed this time!" Tyrus reported and raised his paw.
"All five huh? Wow, my power is increasing." I chuckled and scratched the back of my head.
"You use to be only able crush three and damage the fourth. Looks like our time in Tenrou Island increased your Magical Power." Tyrus stated and float down to eye level.
"Well we did face against some powerful foes." I stated and dropped my hand back to my side.
"Like Hades." I turned half way around to see Laxus standing there with his arms crossed.
I nodded my head, "Yeah he definitely was one of them. So is the Thunder Legion done training?" I asked.
"No, I just came by to see how your training was coming along." Laxus stated but I caught his lie.
"Liar, you were bored." I corrected and fully turned to him.
"I did not lie." Laxus lied again and I pointed at him.
"Right there! Everytime you lie your eyes glance off to the left." I stated.
"Ooooooh busted…!" Tyrus teased and Laxus glared at Tyrus in annoyance.
"Tyrus..." I scolded and Tyrus sighed.
"I know, I know. I'll leave you two alone." Tyrus waved it off and flew away.
"So, you were that bored huh?" I said turning back to Laxus with a smirk on my face.
"It's not that it's…" Laxus paused and he looked uneasy and avoided eye contact with me.
"Then what is it?" I asked and climbed onto a low branch of one of the trees.
"Ever since Gildarts made me part of Fairy Tail again, the Thunder Legion has been more…" Laxus paused again.
"Clingy?" I finished for him and sat down on the branch backwards.
"Yeah, that." Laxus agreed with my description.
"Can you blame them? You were their leader before you got yourself excommunicated. You should have seen them when you were gone, the first few days they were completely lost. Freed took over as the temporary leader though." I stated and swung back to where I was hanging upside down with the back of my knees hooked on the branch.
"Freed's the worse of them all, he's been obsessing over me the most." Laxus grunted in annoyance and rolled his eyes.
"Well, you're pretty easy to obsess with." I teased and crossed my arms so they wouldn't dangle.
A cocky smirk formed on Laxus' face and he uncrossed his arms as he strode over to me. The branch was high enough to where our heads where the same height with me hanging upside down.
"Oh really? Are you implying you're obsessed with me?" Laxus stated getting close to my face.
"I wouldn't say obsessed, more like you're always on my mind." I corrected with a smile on my face.
Laxus drew closer, then he did something unexpected. In one fluid motion he unhooked my legs from the branch with one hand, and quickly flipped me right side up and pinned me to the trunk of the tree. A small gasp left my mouth which caused Laxus' smirk to widen. He pressed his large frame onto my small frame, and both his huge rough hands grabbed the sides of my face. He leaned his head down and quickly caught my lips with his in a hot passionate kiss.
After the initial shock wore off of just what happened, I relaxed and kissed him back. My hands went to the back of his head and tangled them in his spiky blonde hair. I held back a gasp when I felt tingles of lightning against my skin. He did this all the time, knowing it would get me but not this time.
Laxus let out a growl in frustration in the middle of our make-out session seeing I didn't give in to his usual trick. He left my lips and trailed down my neck with hot kisses while his hands traveled to hold the back of my head.
"Told you that trick won't work all the time." I informed with a cocky tone in my voice.
Laxus stopped his attack on my neck and raised his head to look at me. His eyes were glazed over with care, compassion, and love. I knew mine probably held the same emotions.
"Oh really? Then I'll have to think of a new one." Laxus leaned back down and I closed my eyes as his lips brushed against mine…
"Laxus, where are you?!" I opened my eyes hearing Freed's voice and smelling the scent of the Thunder Legion.
Laxus let out an irritated growl as he rose his head up to glare in the direction where Freed's voice came from. I felt bad for Laxus, ever since he got back the Thunder Legion has been following him around like baby ducks following their mother. Freed's been the worst, giving Laxus hugs against his will and constantly crying out of joy that he was back.
"I can't get five minutes away from them." Laxus grumbled out and walked backwards so he wasn't pinning me anymore.
I quickly walked over to waistcoat jacket and scarf from the rock and put them on. Laxus watched me with a confused and curious look as I started to walk off. I stopped and turned my head towards him.
"Well, you want to get away from them or not?" I questioned.
Without a second thought, Laxus quickly strode over to me and grabbed my hand and proceeded to drag me off in a direction. I swiftly got back my footing but I had to walk quickly to keep up with Laxus' long strides.
"Ah, have I ever mentioned how much I love you being a Fire Wizard." Evergreen said sighing in relaxation.
"Only when I make instant hot spas." I said leaning my back with my eyes closed and my arms on the edge of the small watering hole.
After training Evergreen and I decided to put our swimsuits on and sit in a hot spring.
"And to think we have this moment all to ourselves." Evergreen sighed once again.
My nose twitched smelling the musky scent of high voltage and three other scents coming our way.
"Wouldn't hold my breath if I were you." I stated.
"You've got to be kidding me, they followed us?" Evergreen groaned in frustration.
"So this is where you ladies disappeared to." I opened my eyes and pulled my head up to face the boys and Tyrus and they all had swim trunks on.
"I think you guys knew we were here. If you didn't you wouldn't have swim trunks on." I stated smirking.
"Guilty as charged." Bickslow said sticking his tongue out and walking to the edge of watering hole.
I shifted my eyes to Evergreen and nudged my head slightly towards out of the watering hole.
Evergreen got the hint and got out of the water.
"Well now that my relaxing spa has been ruined I think I'm going to bed." Evergreen said walking off.
"Very well, good night Evergreen." Freed said politely.
Tyrus went to step into the water but he stopped seeing a look on my face and he knew that look. Laxus stayed out of the water as well, he knew me way too well and knew what I was up to.
"What's the matter little guy? Too much for ya?" Bickslow teased Tyrus.
"No, but it will." Tyrus replied in a childlike manner.
"It is getting rather hotter." Freed exclaimed.
"Yeah, almost boiling." Bickslow agreed.
"Did you guys honestly think there was a hot spring way out here?" Laxus asked crossing his arms.
Freed and Bickslow got it and turned to a smirking me sitting calmly in the almost boiling water.
"What's the matter boys, can't take the heat?" I teased and rose the temperature even hotter.
"Hot!" They both yelled getting out with the lower part of their body bright red from the heat. They ran away from us, probably to find cooler water.
Tyrus sighed in annoyance, "I'll make sure they find water." He said flying off after the two.
"Now that was cruel." Laxus stated walking over to me.
"They interrupted mine and Evergreen's relaxation time and don't deny it. I know it was you that sniffed us out, Mr. Dragon Slayer." I commented and looked behind me as Laxus laid down on the soft grass so he would be next to me.
"Guilty as charged." Laxus whispered into my ear and kissed the top of my ear.
"But you wouldn't have followed me if you didn't have something to tell me." I stated and turned around to face Laxus eye to eye.
"Remember when I told you the Thunder Legion has been a bit clingy?" I nodded my head.
"Well they crossed a line this afternoon."I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"What did they do?" I asked.
"They told me that I should send you back to your team. They think you're just a distraction to me." Laxus explained.
"That's fine with me. I was suppose to meet up with them anyway, but quick question. Am I a good distraction or a bad one?" I asked leaning on the edge of the watering hole.
"Definitely a good one." Laxus leaned his head forward and caught me in a kiss.
An idea popped in my head, the water cooled off so it wasn't boiling anymore. Quickly I grabbed above his arms and used my dragon strength to pull him into the water.
I was laughing knowing I caught him by surprise. He rose up and was able to touch the bottom of the water hole. He shook the water off his now wet matted blonde hair. He opened his eyes and sent me a playful glare.
"You did NOT just do that." Laxus stated.
"I think I did." I retorted.
"You're gonna get it!" I tried to swim away but since Laxus could stand in the water he easily grabbed my ankle and pulled me back to him.
I laughed as Laxus kept a strong grip around my waist and refused to let go. A couple of chuckles left his lips too before a comfortable silence fell between us.
Laxus now had his hands under my thighs and my legs wrapped around his torso to keep me up. It made us stay at eye level with each other.
Laxus eventually relaxed enough to where he rested his head on my shoulder. I pressed my cheek against his wet matted hair and I gently ran my fingers through the hair on the nape of his neck. He let out a deep breath so I could tell he was enjoying it. I wish this could last forever.
