Long time no see, got an update here. I love reading your comments on the latest chapter! There were ones where I really smiled. I also liked how many of you took a guess at what was going to happen. I know Tsuna got beat down quickly, but there is a reason for everything!

Chapter 12 – The One True Sky, Final Act

It was the second day of December, year 2001. Tsuna was four and playing in his backyard. He was playing with the thick layer of snow, spreading it around his gloves fingers. He wore a red coat.

"What are you doing no-good Tsuna? Playing all by yourself alone?" Tezuka said as Tsuna turned. Tezuka had two friends with him, one to each of his side. Tsuna knew them from school. They were two of the cruelest children besides Tezuka that he knew about. Once he heard how Saito had pushed a girl so hard on the ground that she broke her arm. And Kaido had once tripped a classmate of his, shattering the boy's glasses. Poor Tanaka had to wear bandages around his head for three weeks.

Tezuka, with his blue coat on, was smiling and looked like he enjoyed looking down on Tsuna who was playing seated on the bed of snow.

"Leave me alone," Tsuna said. Ever since the accident Tezuka had been acting very mean towards him. He broke almost all Tsuna's toys the days after the accident. When their mother asked what had happened, Tezuka lied and said that Tsuna broke his toys and even some of his, showing the toys of his own that he had broken as well. Nana was so mad that she withheld Tsuna's allowance for the next month.

Tsuna's, and by default Tezuka's birthday was next week, so Tsuna hoped Tezuka would leave him alone for once. The past year since the accident Tezuka had all but been a relentless bully to Tsuna. Not even his dad protected Tsuna, because Tezuka was just that much better at making everyone believe him.

"Tezu, this your no-good brother?" Saito said chin raised, "looks like a rat if you ask me."

"A rat?" Kaido laughed, "too big, a mouse is what he is!" And soon Saito, Kaido and Tezuka burst out laughing.

Tsuna gulped. He was very sensitive at this age and the words stung. He looked down, stood and walked away.

He didn't get far as Kaido blocked his path. Tsuna looked to Tezuka who did not meet his gaze. Before he could look back at Kaido, a hard fist struck his nose. Tsuna fell down. He put a hand on his noise and felt wetness. When he pulled his hand back he noticed it was covered in blood. He was horrified that something like this could happen in his own backyard. Mom was out shopping, and dad, well dad wasn't there much.

"Tezuka help!" The words left his mouth before he could think about them. Tezuka obviously didn't care about him anymore, to the point that he was even smiling when he saw how his brother bled.

Then Saito walked over and stalked behind Tsuna's form. The much bigger boy smiled evilly. "Tezu come join in," Saito said.

Tsuna widened his eyes as Tezuka listened to the other boy.

That afternoon in December was the first time that Tezuka physically assaulted Tsuna. It was also the last time Tsuna reminisced. A week later was his birthday, but also the week in which Sawada Tsuna was run over by a truck.

"You should see your life in one of the other Worlds Tsunayoshi-kun," a kind voice said out of nowhere, "it's still has its flaws, but at least you didn't have to experience being traumatized by your brother and his friends," the voice paused, "I'm surprised though, did your mother not notice your bruises and broken nose?"

Tsuna recognized this voice to belong to Baron, the boss of his Famiglia. Baron had a way to get into Tsuna's dreams while he was sleeping, or in this case, unconscious. Tsuna real body stood at the door opening of his backyard, watching with indifferent eyes as his brother and his friends beat up his younger self. It was all a dream, but felt so vivid. He always gained some control over his dreams when Baron decided to pay a visit.

"I ran straight to my room and hid all day, I skipped dinner to work on my plan to run away. I only said hello and goodbye to mom, but never showed her the bruises or my broken nose. A week later I met you. Your butler patched me up enough to look acceptable at my birthday party."

"Ahh yes, good old Ron, he still asks for you, you're being so mean for taking so long with the mission! He misses the games of chess that you play with each other." Baron said with a playful voice.

"He beats me eight out of ten times Baron-sama," Tsuna said dryly.

"Even I can't beat him over fifty percent of the time, he's that good Tsunayoshi-kun! And stop calling me Baron-sama, I already told you my first name!" Baron sounded mildly annoyed.

"Speaking of the mission, it seems that I've failed you, I may be dead already," Tsuna said with a hint of disappointment.

"Don't be silly Tsunayoshi-kun, if you were dead I would be flying to Japan now and taking care of that pretty boy, you're just unconscious. That was careless of you though, did something happen?" Baron asked curiously.

Tsuna of course knew what Baron was talking about. Baron, for some odd reason, knew things that he really shouldn't. Like right now he was hinting at his encounter with Takeshi. Tsuna couldn't explain what happened either, but he felt dazed since that incident. He could feel it thought out his whole body and even in his dying will flames.

"That's because there is a special relationship between that boy and you in another World, your Sky flames are feeling drawn towards Takeshi's Rain flames," Baron didn't seem happy as he read Tsuna's mind, which he could most always do when he entered Tsuna's dreams. Tsuna never resisted Baron's prodding though.

"You're going to wake up soon, but before that you need to know that you can't beat this Mukuro on your own, he's very strong," Baron sounded unwilling when he said that.

Tsuna knew that Baron was right, because besides Baron being right most of the time, Tsuna could feel the power from the dark haired boy called Rokudo Mukuro. He needed to fight Mukuro with Fran if he wanted to survive.

"Correct Tsunayoshi-kun, right now Fran is fighting alone, and I'm not sure how long he can hold out against Mukuro. "

Tsuna widened his eyes at hearing the news of Fran fighting alone against that monster. He could already feel regaining consciousness.

"Be careful," Baron said as Tsuna left the dream world where his younger self was crying tears and dripping blood on the bed of snow.

Tsuna held his face in pain. His body felt groggy. When he regained vision he could see Fran fighting Mukuro. Fran had a cut on his right eyebrow and looked tired. They were both using dying will mist flames.

Mukuro's clothes were roughed up and he had a few bruises on his face, but otherwise he seemed unhurt. Tsuna worried how much longer Fran could hold out.

Tsuna felt a sudden stinging pain in his right leg. He cursed when looked down and saw his leg in a position it shouldn't, definitely broken. If he didn't do something neither Fran nor he would could come alive.

"But what can I do?" Tsuna thought desperately, which he normally wasn't, but he was worried for Fran. Without his leg he couldn't move. He was rendered useless until Mukuro had finished off Fran. "Damn it!" Tsuna cursed as another sting went through his leg. "I'm sorry Baron," Tsuna said as he punched the floor.

He could see Fran being sent flying towards a wall. Fran looked in bad shape, blood trickled down his lips. Mukuro seemed to enjoy himself as he laughed.

When all hope seemed lost, something warm tingled to Tsuna's right side. Tsuna looked down and noticed a white ball that shone brightly. Just as he was about to touch the object, a bullet grazed his cheek.

"Not a finger closer Abel Tsunayoshi," the voice of a toddler said deadly. It belonged to Reborn. The fedora wearing Arcobaleno jumped down from one of the beams above. He looked more sad than angry as he approached Tsuna who lay down with his broken leg.

Tsuna felt the bright ball calling him, even stronger than the feeling he had felt when Yamamato's Rain flames had called him.

"I told you not to!" Reborn pointed the gun towards Tsuna's head, "don't make me do it Tsunayoshi," but it was already too late, Tsuna had touched the ball, and Reborn had fired his gun.

A blinding light expelled from the orb as Tsuna touched it. The bullet that would have killed him never reached him.

When Tsuna could see again, he knew that he was no longer in Kokuyo middle school. Instead he was in a space that was completely white. Faintly he could hear steps coming closer, surrounding him. "Who's there?" Tsuna asked guarded.

"We are Vongola," a figure materialized along seven others. All of them wore suits. They differed in appearance. But one thing Tsuna noted they all had, were the same eyes. Eyes that looked with great interest towards him.

The first figure who had appeared was a woman with dark hair and a red suit on. A silver crossbow rested in her right hand. She was the person who spoke first. Silently the figure observed Tsuna before smiling, "my name is Daniela, the eight boss of Vongola, and these behind me are the previous leaders of Vongola." Daniela stepped closer, "Vongola Decimo, you're the youngest of all Vongola bosses to have activated the Inauguration, your will must be strong," the woman said with approving eyes.

"I'm not Vongola Decimo," Tsuna spat out with disgust almost instantly. He didn't know where he was. This couldn't be a dream, because if it was, Baron would most certainly make his appearance and make it all disappear. Tsuna and Baron both shared an immense hate towards the Vongola Famiglia.

Daniela seemed surprised, "are you denouncing your title Decimo?"

"My brother is Vongola Decimo, not me," Tsuna said angry.

Daniela, probably an illusion created by Mukuro, because Tsuna knew that Vongola Ottavo had died years ago, seemed unfazed.

"Only the true heir to the Vongola Famiglia can enter the Inauguration," Daniela said before the others spread around Tsuna. One of the seven others was clouded in a shadow.

Tsuna's leg was still broken; otherwise he would have tried to distance himself from these illusions.

Thankfully he didn't have to, because one by one they disappeared. The world around him turned from white to darkness. Soon he could not see a single thing.

Then came the voices. He could hear screams of women, children and men.

"No no! Please don't!"

"No don't, not my child!"

"Forgive me!"

"Mercy!"

Gunshots roamed in Tsuna's mind. Images of people in agony appeared.

"Are you ready to bare these sins Decimo?" A voice said.

"Such is the fate of Vongola." Another voice said.

And Tsuna started laughing, "Bare sins of the Vongola? You must be out of your minds!" He shouted, "I'll destroy Vongola! I'll break it down so that you monsters can never hurt anyone ever again!"

The voices and images disappeared. Soon all but silence remained.

"I accept your will and resolution," a voice pierced through the void.

Soon the darkness shimmered away and made place for a blue sky. Tsuna stood, right leg healed, on a long red carpet that led to a throne made out of porcelain. The sides of the carpet were lined up by the second boss of Vongola to the eight. At the throne sat a figure clouded in shadow.

"Come," the voice said. Tsuna felt only warmth from the voice. It was the same feeling he had gotten from the orb earlier. It was so compelling that Tsuna listened to it.

Tsuna passed the previous bosses of Vongola. Each of them stuck out their weapon as he passed them. Their weapons were shrouded with Sky flames. When he stood in front of the shadowed figure, color filled his frame.

Gone was the shadow and in place came someone who's hair was golden and eyes honey colored. Tsuna felt a bond with him, even though they had never met.

The man who could only be Vongola Primo stood. He gave one of the warmest smiles that Tsuna had ever seen, even warmer than Baron's. Then Primo stuck out his hand in front of him, just under his chest. A gloved hand with a round crystal ignited Sky flames on the front side of his glove.

"Prosper or destroy, the choice is yours Vongola Decimo."

And then the world brightened up.

Tsuna opened his eyes. He was back in Mukuro's lair standing with his right leg healed. He felt strangely energized for some reason. Even stranger were the looks that Mukuro who had stopped fighting Fran, Reborn who had his gun lowered, and Fran who was laying down in a pile of rubble gave him.

"Think you can beat me with that? Think again," Tsuna saw how Mukuro disappeared and materialized almost instantly in front of him. A fist was supposed to connect with Tsuna's jaw, but it never did.

Tsuna widened his eyes at how fast he intercepted the blow. He had a tight grip on Mukuro's fist. Then it hit him when he looked at his hand that was holding onto Mukuro.

His hand was covered in the same gloves that the Illusionary Primo wore in that outdoor throne room. Moreover, his entire fist clouded in dying will flames.

Tsuna felt more and more power build up in him. It was as if his body was telling him to finish it.

Mukuro tried to get lose, but the iron grip that Tsuna gave him wouldn't budge. He tried all the power of all the realms that he had power over, but nothing worked. Tsuna seemed to have gained immunity against his illusions. The flame on Tsuna's forehead looked like it was becoming more concentrated.

"Time to end it," Tsuna said determined.

Before Mukuro could react, an open palm was aimed towards his torso, "no!" Mukuro screamed. But it was already too late, flames with blinding light appeared in Tsuna's palm and was fired straight into him.

Reborn was stunned. He had absolutely no words for what he was seeing. Tsuna had touched Leon's cocoon, then a flash of white blinded everything and a second later Tsuna was shrouded in dying will flames. Moreover, why was a non Vongola wearing Primo's gloves? Reborn's mind started clicking and grinding. He had to find out what this all meant. In the meantime he saw how Tsuna disposed of Mukuro with a blast of dying will flames.

"NOOOO!" A yell echoed into Mukuro's lair.

Tsuna moved with ease as a yoyo with blades flew past him. He blocked a heavy kick afterwards. Two people had appeared. Tsuna recognized them to be Mukuro's accomplices.

"I suggest you flee," Tsuna advised with narrow eyes.

"You killed him!" Ken yelled in fury.

Chikusa looked over at Mukuro's body. Mukuro's shirt and jacket were burned.

"Did I now?" Tsuna asked as a pulse of sky flames erupted around him. If they wanted to fight him, they were welcome to try.

"He's still alive Ken!" Chikusa shouted.

But before Ken could turn around to confirm for himself, chains surrounded his body. Another pair of chains circled around Chikusa and Mukuro too. They clamped tight.

"Vongola Decimo, we will take it from here," a mysterious dark voice said.
