Chapter 5
The days of summer had passed; the leaves began to change color and a slight chill could be felt in the air. A group of six friends were walking down the streets of Peach Creek in the early morning hours.
"Man I hope Mr. Patts doesn't shove another pop quiz in our face again." Eddy said with a groan while stretching his upper body.
"Well it would help if you actually studied for the quizzes." Jack said as he and young red colored haired girl said as they walked hand in hand next to him.
"Who has the time to study for those things anyway?"
"Everyone who actually studies rather than staying up playing Zombies vs Vampires till the wee hours of the morning." Double D replied while he, Ed, and Anastasia walked on the opposite side of Jack and the red colored haired girl.
"Hey haven't you been reading the headlines online Double D, a zombie or vampire apocalypse is suppose to happen soon. That game is like a survival guide."
"Riiiiight...And Jack and I are a part of some kind of secret organization bent on saving the world from mythical creatures like your said zombies, vampires, and even werewolves." Double D replied with a chuckle.
"Hey it could happen." Jack replied. (;P)
"I can't wait for Mrs. Dalbey's art class; I finally finished writing that comic strip for her art class." Ed said with much glee in his eye.
"I'm looking forward to the weekend myself." Anastasia replied. "After those midterms I'm in need of some much needed TLC."
"What do you have plan for the weekend Anna?" Double D asked.
Anastasia gave off a playful giggle as she used the back of her hand to cover her mouth.
"Remember silly we have a date tonight?" Anastasia said as she slid her hand around Double D's.
"Popcorn and a movie at my house."
"OH HO OOOH...What is this like your guys fifth date since the semester began?" The red colored haired girl asked.
"Why don't you two lover birds get a room and make it official?" Eddy said as he gave an evil smirk.
Both Double D and Anastasia's faces grew into a dark shade of red.
"Umm...Well...To be honest...Anastasia I've been meaning to talk to you about it." Double D began to say while awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.
"You...You have?"
"Well...Yes...We've gotten to know each other better over the course of the past few months...And I've grown quite attached to you...And...I was hoping that you wouldn't mind...Maybe...Perhaps..."
Suddenly a loud ringing "Prrrriiiiinnnnnngggg" noise echoed through out the entire Peach Creek Hills High School campus.
"That stupid bell." Anastasia said with a disappointed tone. "Can we continue this...Maybe later... tonight?"
"O...Of course." Double D said with the biggest smile he could muster.
Anastasia quickly lifted herself on top of her toes and gave a soft kiss onto Double D'd cheek and hastily left for her first period class.
"I gotta go to babe; I'll see you at lunch." The red colored haired girl said as she and Jack shared a quick kiss before she joined Anastasia.
"See you at lunch Beccs!" Jack shouted.
Then as the four friends continued together to their fist period; Jack and Eddy both sheepishly rubbed their elbows into Double D's abdomen.
"So tonight's the night eh Double D?" Jack asked.
"Must be pretty nervous; better not screw it up Sock Head." Eddy added.
"Fellas I'm already a nervous wreck trying to ask this beautiful girl to be my girlfriend. I don't need you two to remind me of my predicament." Double D repled while fighting the butterflies in his stomach.
Suddenly Ed lifted both Jack and Eddy from their coats and carried them away to class.
"Now, now fellas leave Double D be, he's got a lot on his plate especially what with Ms. Anastasia tonight." Ed said as he gave Double D a wink.
Double D waved goodbye to his friends and comtinued on his way to first period. As everyone were scrambling to get to their seats before the final bell rang. Double D who had already settled himself down in his desk right next to the windows. Slowly pulled out his note book and pencils just as the teacher entered the room.
"Good morning class." The instructor said as he approached his desk in front of the class room.
"Good morning Mr. Jameson." Everyone replied.
"Now before I begin..." Mr. Jameson said as he slowly reached into the jacket of his trench coat.. "Ah there it is." Mr. Jameson said as he pulled out a note from the inside of his jacket. "Eddward, I've received this note from the principle's office. It seems they require your attendance in his office ASAP."
A look of complete and total fear took over Double D's face.
"Oh dear...What could the principle want with me?" Double D asked as he slowly lifted himself from is desk, his body trembling, a million thoughts rushing through his head.
"OOOOOOooooohhhhhh...Double D's finally gonna get it!" Another boy in the class room shouted.
"It's always the quite ones you've gotta watch out for." A girl who was sitting opposite of Double D said in a low whisper.
Double D could feel his face begin to flush as he let the words of his fellow students fill his already terrified mind.
"What if the principle blames me for when Eddy and Ed started that food fight on Meatloaf Monday?" Double D said to himself in panic as he slowly walked down the empty hallways of Peach Creek Hills High.
"Oh I told those two that it was a bad idea but did anyone listen NOOOOoooooo." Double D said as he bent his arms in the air and angrily shook them. "I knew better than to let Eddy throw that handful of mash potatoes at Kevin and his friends on the football team but did I stop him Noo...Oooof."
Double D said as he was abruptly interrupted by accidentally walking straight into the principle.
"Ouch...Ah there you are Eddward." The principle said happily.
"Morry mout mhat minciple Mamilton." Double D said as he rubbed his nose
"Mew...Manted...Moo...Me...Me...Murr.."
"Uh yes..." Principle Hamilton began to say as he walk Double D into the office.
As the two entered the office, Double didn't noticed that none of his friends were awaiting inside the office in terror.
"No Ed, Eddy, or Jack? Could this not be about the food fight last Monday perhaps?" Double D asked himself.
Double D stood respectfully in front of Principle Hamilton's Desk, while the Principle took his appointed seat and gathered some documents and papers that were scattered over his desk.
"You see today we received a new student today. And I was hoping since you are one of Peach Creek High's best and brightest. Then you wouldn't mind showing them around campus today?"
"Ohhh...Of course sir." Double D said as he took in a small sigh of relief.
"Can you tell the new student to meet at the cafeteria in five minutes to begin the tour." Principle Hamilton asked his secretary.
"Oh thank goodness...I thought for sure that I was going to get in trouble because the others started the food fight last week." Double D said to himself in a low whisper.
"Oh what was that Eddward? I didn't quite catch what you were saying." Principle Hamilton said as his stacked the pile of papers in his hands.
"Ummmm...Nothing sir! I didn't say anything at all sir." Double D said as his posture became stiff while slightly trembling at the same time.
"Well alright then Eddward now be on your way, wouldn't want to keep our newest student waiting."
"Y...Yes sir!" Double D said as he quickly scurried out of Principle Hamilton's office.
Moments later we see Double D patently sitting at an empty cafeteria table, waiting for the new student to arrive.
"Okay...Hi I'm Eddward but my friends call me Double D please to meet you." Double D said as he extended his right hand into the air. "No no let's try another approach." Double D said with his hand underneath his chin. "Hiya I'm Eddward welcome to our school."
"Well thank you puddin, but I already know who you are." A feminine voice replied.
"Wait...That voice..." Double D said to himself.
Double D slowly turned himself towards the left hoping that mysterious girl's voice was just in his mind.
"Ma...Marie."
Hey Beekeeper readers sorry I haven't been as active as I want to be I was going to post up chapters during the holidays and spring break but this year college has been a real pain in the butt. On top of that I am trying to work on some original materials as well (Which if I do get done with I will gladly show you guys) But I will continue to work on my fics as well but the latest chapters probably won't be as long as they use to be until summer vacation. So I hope this quick return of A Heart Torn In Two will quench your thirst until the next fics come out. Stay beautiful and God Bless you guys. ^-^
