Chapter 15
When dinner was finished everyone sat back in the living room and carried on their conversations, Sam just sat there staring at the fire burning at the side of the room while Poppy was observing her. All Sam could think about was her powers and the Autobots.
"Excuse me" she interrupted the talking. "I'm tired I think I'm gunna go to bed"
Poppy just watched her best friend walk out the room without any second thought given, she knew that Sam was hiding something and she was going to find out what but the last thing that Poppy wants to do is get in to another argument so she decided not to follow Sam upstairs.
Meanwhile in Sam's room she was worried about her friends, lying in bed wasn't doing anything for her neither was hanging around her best friend and her parents. Not at this time. So Sam just sat on her windowsill looking up at the clear night, everything was still outside it was late but Sam still expected to see people wondering the streets but nothing. The moon shone brightly that you didn't even need the street lights to see, suddenly Sam saw something move beneath her window. So she stretched her arms down and lifted the window to open it she poked her head out and looked down but couldn't see anything all she felt was a gust of wind blow past her. As she closed the window she felt a presence behind her.
Sam swiftly turned around to see a small robot half the size of her standing in front of her. Sam quickly prepared herself positioning her hands so that the palms were facing each other and slowly she started to create a plasma ball.
"Who are you? Friend or foe?" she quickly said
"Sam wait it's not going to hurt you" came a voice
Sam recognised it not of decepticon but Autobot.
"Scattershot is that you?" Sam replied
"Yeah it's me, I'm transmitting through the robot from outside"
Sam turned her back on the robot and poked her head out the window again to see Scattershot parked outside her house. Then she looked back at the robot sitting back down on the windowsill.
"So you trying to scare me because you find protecting me boring or what?" she asked
"No this is Omega he is just a small version of us that doesn't talk, he has an open mind and is able to protect you any time."
"Because you guys protecting me isn't enough and don't you think he's going to attract attention, not to mention he seems simple minded"
"Hmm very funny Sam, Omega is a learning computer that can transform to fit in your pocket"
Sam laughed at his last remark she walked around him studying him while he did the same back.
"How about Minicon? Why do I need him?"
"Optimus thought that with all your human things you do all day we can't always be close to you so we activated Omega to do that job for us" Scattershot explained
Sam looked over to Scattershot "Getting lazy are we?"
"I've got to…"
Scattershot was cut off by Hot Shot on the comlink.
"This is Scattershot requesting back up, multiple decepticons everywhere"
Sam's eyes grew wide as she heard everything through Omega.
"Autobots home in on Hot Shots signal and provide support" said Optimus
At once Scattershot zoomed off and left Sam stunned at what was going on, at this time Omega had done nothing but stand still Sam just looked over to him with an urge on her face.
"Okay Omega let's see what you can do" said Sam
She quickly put her shoes on and a jacket before heading back to the window, looking down Sam thought jumping wasn't the best strategy. Looking back at Omega Sam saw him stare at her looking her up and down.
"Yes alright I've got my pyjamas on but I don't think that's the problem here" She said to him
When Sam was finished she teleported them both down to the bottom of the drive away. Once they were clear Sam used here powers to find where the others were and it wasn't far away.
"That's the abandoned warehouse. We've got to help them" Stated Sam
She was about to start walking when Omega stepped in her way.
"Look I know you've been assigned to protect me but doesn't that mean that we can be friends, and the Autobots are my friends and I've got to help them because that's what a friend does, they stick by them"
At that moment Omega nodded and transformed in to a bicycle. Sam smiled at what she saw and climbed on.
"You're learning already then" she said as they went down the street
Sam gave directions to where they should go to Omega, it only to a minute before they stopped at a corner. Sam jumped off and Omega transformed back in to robot form again. Looking around the corner Sam could see flashes of light coming from inside the warehouse, something big had to be going on in there, turning back Sam told Omega to Contact Optimus Prime.
"Optimus what's going on in there? I'm outside let me help"
"Negative Sam, you are the reason we are fighting it would not do any good you coming in here and getting captured, stay at the house" he replied
Then the comlink went off.
"WHAT! He thinks I will just get kidnapped, I admit I'm not that good but I can still fight." Sam exclaimed
Turning around the corner again Sam only mumbled so only Omega heard her "Well I'm not leaving"
Omega now was leaning out like Sam was learning how she was sneaking around and the best steps to take. He seemed less robotic now and acted like a real person.
Sam started thinking.
"The best way to help would be to fight some of those decepticons ourselves so that there won't be too many for the guys to handle" Sam stated
All of a sudden Omega made some strange noises that scared Sam but somehow she knew what he was saying.
"Your right we could just distract them instead of fight... Wait….. I thought you couldn't talk"
Sam only thought to herself about what was going on, normally she would be spending time with her dad but it would seem she would rather hang out with aliens instead. She then gave Omega a count down from 5 with her hands and as soon as she hit 0 Omega fired red lasers from his optics. Both shots hitting the giant warehouse door causing 2 holes in it. A couple of seconds after and a decepticon came out of the door and started looking around, before long he went to the back of the warehouse which gave Sam and Omega the opportunity to approach the warehouse. As soon as they got there their backs were against the wall and Sam saw a bright blue light escape the building which worried her as nothing but silence and darkness followed. She heard the decepticon coming back around so she gestured to Omega to follow her the opposite way around to the back. Slowly but quietly they reached the back of the warehouse without being spotted, Omega pointed out a window above them that Sam couldn't reach.
"Omega give me a boost up" she said
At once he grabbed her and extended his arms to the window, Sam opened it and climbed in before signalling for Omega to stay put.
"Go distract more decepticons and don't get spotted" she commanded
Same closed the window and looked in at nothing, it was pitch black and the only light that Sam could see was the moonlight coming in through the skylight at the other end of the room. She didn't know what she was standing on or whether she was alone on the room so she kneeled down on what felt like a metal flooring and began to feel her way around. Sam closed her eyes in fear she didn't want to be found by the decepticons and hung by chains like her mother was but all of a sudden Sam saw everything even though her eyes were shut she could see all the different objects in the room but what she couldn't see was any transformers.
Carefully she began to stand up and although her eyes were still closed she could make out a power lever next to her so she pulled it and opened her eyes to see that she had just turned some very dim lights on. Now Sam could see everything in detail and she was right about there being no transformers. Where had they gone? Sam had only heard them firing at each other only a few minutes ago, there weren't even any decepticons around. Sam began to feel puzzled yet still scared thought it could be a trap. She made her way down some metal stairs towards the ground looking around at the different marks that their guns had made on the walls and some old equipment.
Once she was at the bottom she heard something moving around some cardboard boxes some she carefully stepped over to them and looked inside one of them to see lights flashing around one of which hitting Sam, but it only felt like a bee just stung her, this made Sam step backwards but after a couple of seconds she looked back in the box to see her friends still fighting the decepticons but they were really small. They had to be the size of a tennis ball, just then the shooting and noise had stopped and all of them were staring at Sam.
"It's the All Spark" Shouted a decepticon
"Sam, I told you not to come here, what if they get you?" said Optimus
"Um Sam you discovered a new power of growth or something" Wing Saber pointed out
Sam looked confused but then suddenly realised that she probably looked massive to them.
"You guys don't know?" she asked
No reply came but all of them even the ones that wanted to kidnap her were looking at her on confusion and amazement.
"I'm not huge here, you all shrunk"
Quickly Sam scooped each and every one of them up in to both of her hands and placed them back down on the ground outside of the box. They all looked around stunned.
"But how?" asked Red Alert
Sam knelt down on the floor as she saw a decepticon step forward and answer.
"Our master's plan was to shrink you all with this gun we had created but we had no idea they would use it on us as well"
"Hmm just shows that decepticons aren't great and noble, they sacrifice their own men" Said Scattershot
As soon as that was said they all realised that they were in the middle of a fight. So the decepticons started firing down on the unsuspecting Autobots making them hurt. Sam quickly grabbed the box and put it over the decepticons.
"Are you guys alright?"
A small moan came from each of them as a reply.
"Sam you have to get out of here" Said Red Alert quickly
"What? Why?"
"The decepticons used the shrink ray that they created so that could easily capture us leaving you unprotected. If they come in here to collect us, so we don't get in there way, they'll get you. Sam you have to leave us" he explained
"Okay first off your really going to call it shrink ray, and second I'm not leaving you guys"
With that said Sam made sure the decepticons were in the cardboard box and she closed it up with some duck tap she found lying around before scooping her friends up in her hands and running towards the window she came through. Sam put them all in to just one of her hands and then opened the window and looked down to see Omega waiting for her.
"Omega, little help please" she whispered
Omega extended his arms and grabbed her gently by her hips. Just before he was about to lower her down Sam heard the ware house door opening behind her so she quickly jumped out of the window with Omega catching her and placing her on the ground with the Autobots still in her hand. She hand signalled Omega to start there retreat back. They ran towards the end of an alleyway and out on to a street, turning quickly and running towards Sam's house. Just as they reached her house Sam saw that the front door was open and poppy and her parents were just leaving so Sam grabbed Omega with her free hand and went behind their wall that separates the alley from their home.
"Poppy will have to come pass this way to get home" whispered Sam
Sam then teleported herself, Omega and the Autobots back to her room. Once they were in her room Sam put the Autobots down on her bedside table next to her phone and she quickly closed her window that was still open then closing her curtains an taking a little peak of Poppy leaving. Once she couldn't see them anymore Sam moved away from the window and fell down on her bed.
"You okay Sam" asked Bumblebee
Sam to a while to answer.
"Yeah, it's just… nothing. We need to figure out how to get you guys back to normal"
Red Alert then began to think "Maybe the cause is the solution"
"What can't you say something useful, or something that we all understand for once" said hot Shot
"Hot Shot stand down, explain yourself Red Alert" asked Optimus
"Well if the shrink ray made us like this then maybe if we reverse its programming it will return us to our normal size"
"That sounds simple enough" said Sam
"Not quite so"
Then Sam heard a creek coming from outside her room. She quickly opened her bedside draw and pushed the Autobots in. While closing it she ordered Omega to hide and in doing so he transformed into a TV remote. Sam then turned out her lamp and pulled her duvet over her and pretended to be asleep as she heard her bedroom door open.
"Miss Samantha, are you awake" asked Jeeves
"Yes Jeeves, what do you want?"
"Well miss I thought maybe there was something between you and miss Poppy you both seem to be the same"
"There's nothing going on with Poppy and me, and if there were its none of your business Jeeves"
"Excuse me miss but you have been acting differently lately and I know for a fact that Miss Poppy has seen that, is there maybe something that you are not sharing with her"
"For the last time Jeeves there's nothing going on, now leave me alone" Sam demanded
Jeeves then left knowing that he was not wanted. When Sam was sure her was gone she opened her draw and lifted the Autobots out while Omega transformed back in to a robot.
"Sorry about that he likes to poke his nose where it doesn't belong" explained Sam
"And is he right, is there something between you and this Poppy girl" asked Wing Saber
"Well yeah I mean she got mad at me for going out a lot without her and that was when I was with you, and she knows that I'm not telling her something so I got mad at her the other day and….."
Sam didn't carry on even though each of them were listening intently.
"Look I'm tired, can we just do this tomorrow?"
"Autobots back in to the draw" said Optimus
Sam knew that Jeeves and Emily sometimes just walk into her room without knocking so it was important for the Autobots to be somewhere where they wouldn't be found. Just before Sam turned out the light again Omega transformed back into a TV remote and Sam went to sleep.
