Chapter 22-Kenshin and Masaki
9 months later
Rukia, now looking pregnant, was sorting papers while Ichigo finished off paper work they both sat there in silence, "hey how's it going?" Hikaru climbed in through the window
"why don't you use the door?" Ichigo asked as the captain sat in his window
"this is much more fun" Hikaru said adjusting his scarf a bit
"shouldn't you be writing poems for your girlfriend" Ichigo said
"what you talking about Ichigo?" Hikaru asked
"Isane tells Rukia everything and she tells me about how sweet you are" Ichigo got up and started to poke Hikaru, "you're just a big softy"
"I can and will kill you Ichigo" Hikaru was getting ticked off
"oh someone as sweet and fluffy as you couldn't harm a fly" Ichigo started petting him on the head
"stop that now" Hikaru was getting really angry
Rukia suddenly dropped the papers she was carrying, Ichigo was at her side instantly, "what's wrong?" he asked helping her up
"the baby is coming" she said
"I'll go to squad 4 and tell them to get ready" Hikaru jumped out the window while Ichigo picked Rukia up in his arms and shunpo'ed to squad 4 to find captain Unohana waiting for them
Ichigo paced for hours waiting for any news, "calm down Ichigo" leaning back in his chair
"why is it taking so long?" he asked
"well she is giving birth to a child give her time" Hikaru said sarcastically
"just wait in a few years this will be you and Isane" Ichigo said
Seeing a golden opportunity Hikaru grabbed it, "I bet that you will be having your second child before I'm having my first"
Ichigo looked at him then grabbed his hand, "you're on, how much?" he asked
"1 million" Hikaru said
"how about 2" Ichigo suggested
"ok 2 million and you have to say I'm a better captain than you and more powerful" Hikaru said
"good" Ichigo shook Hikaru's hand sealing the deal
A few minutes later Isane burst out of the room, "it's twins" she said, this caused Ichigo to fall off his chair and Hikaru to jump up punching the air
"YES 2 MILLION YEN RICHER" he shouted to the sky, "IF THERE IS A GOD HE MUST LOVE ME"
"how did you know it would be twins?" Ichigo jumped up pointing an accusing finger at him
"I didn't, it was pure luck" Hikaru said, "but you know what I'll be nice, I'll count this as one child so if you have another child before I do then you have to pay me"
"fine but I will not lose" Ichigo said
Isane came back out of the room and told Ichigo he could come in, Ichigo found Rukia in bed with two babies wrapped in blankets Rukia gave him one, it had a chubby round face with a bit of orange hair on its head, "you never told me if they were boys or girls?" Ichigo asked
"a boy and a girl" she kept her voice low so she didn't wake them
"so what are they called?" he asked
"you're holding her so you name her" Rukia said
"ok how about Masaki" Ichigo suggested
"that's a lovely name" Rukia said, "how about, Kenshin"
"I don't think that would suit a girl" Ichigo said
"for the boy you idiot, if he grows up to be half as dim-witted as you he's doomed" Rukia shook her head
7 months later
Ichigo had decided to take the babies to Karakura town so that Yuzu and Karin could see them, he walked in to his old house to find his father on his knees and Yuzu and Karin about to leave, "Ichigo what are you doing here?" Yuzu asked
"well I wanted you to meet your niece and nephew, what is going on here?" he asked
"MY DEAR DAUGHTERS ARE ABANDONING ME TO GO AND LIVE ON THEIR OWN" Isshin started to cry, "TO THINK I RAISED THEM ONLY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN"
"it's fine dad we are only moving 15 minutes away and we will visit all the time" Yuzu said comforting him
"really?" he asked looking at her with puppy eyes and a trembling lip
"yes really" Yuzu hugged Isshin
"hello I'm still here" Ichigo said getting their attention
"OH YEAH YOU AND RUKIA HAD BABIES" Yuzu screamed picking Masaki up
"and who is this" she said hugging her
"that is Masaki" Ichigo told them
"DO YOU HEAR THAT MASAKI OUR SON NAMED HIS FIRST DAUGHTER AFTER YOU, SO THOUGHTFUL" Isshin started to cry in front of the poster of Ichigo's mother
"and this is Kenshin" Ichigo handed him to Karin
"I MISS YOU MORE EVERYDAY MASAKI PLEASE COME BACK TO ME" Isshin still crying in front of the poster
"so how is Rukia?" Yuzu asked cradling Masaki
"she's fine just a bit tired but everything is fine" Ichigo told them
"SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE MY MASAKI" Isshin shouted looking over Yuzu's shoulder
"SHUT UP OR YOU'LL WAKE HER" Ichigo shouted causing Masaki to start crying which got Kenshin to start as well
"oh great look what you did" Ichigo said taking Masaki trying to calm her down to no avail
"they don't seem to like you" Isshin said
"shut up you old man" was starting to get frustrated
"give her here" Isshin took Masaki and she stopped crying
"wow dad when did you get so good with babies?" Yuzu asked amazed
"are you kidding your mother didn't look after you all by herself, I would have to stop Ichigo from crying in the middle of the night" Isshin told his children
"well thanks anyway, I need to go before Rukia worries and beats me up" Ichigo left with the twins
Isshin watched his son leave with tears in his eyes, "YOU HAVE FINALLY BECOME A MAN, OH MASAKI YOU WOULD BE SO PROUD OF HOW I RAISED OUR SON" Isshin hugged the poster, tears streaming out his eyes
"well dad we have to go" Yuzu said leaving with Karin in tow
