Chapter 39- Random destruction
"so what do we do now?" Ichigo asked after the three captains had made it back to the cave and sat down sat down to rest while the others trained
"we need to find the others" Hikaru said before turning to Toshiro, "do you have the location of anyone?"
"district 10 south, that's the one I got but we need to find Rangiku" the young captain told the other two
"why?" Hikaru asked
"I just need to know she's alright" the young captain said looking and sounding distraught
"do you know where she is?" Hikaru asked
"district 64 north" Toshiro answered frankly
"that is almost a two day round trip and how do you know she's there?" Hikaru asked
"she told me she was going back to where she grew up" Toshiro explained
"fine, with shunpo we could cut it down to about a day and a half" Hikaru caved
The three were getting ready to go when Ichigo dragged Hikaru to a secluded corner of the cave, "are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked
"it'll be fine from what I hear the Gotei 13 doesn't have much power after district 10 so I don't think they can try anything that far out" Hikaru reassured
"fine but I want to know what your plan is after we gather everyone?"
"we take back the Seireitei" Hikaru told him before returning to packing
The three captains travelled to a small village at the foot of a mountain, it was tiny and it looked like no one had much money or food but everything seemed to be running well, the three, now out of uniform, walked up to a random man on the street, "we're looking for someone" Hikaru told him
"are you soul reapers?" he asked
"no" Hikaru replied
"then who is it you're looking for?" the man asked
"woman just over 5 and a half foot and huge breasts" Hikaru described her
"you want Rangiku she waitresses at the tavern, the only reason I really go there" the man let out a laugh and walked away
The three walked in to the tavern the man had pointed to and sat down at a table, they only had to wait a few minutes before Rangiku came up to take their order, "what do you want?" she asked with a smile
"for you to do your actual job" Toshiro muttered
"it's you captain" she grabbed the boy and started to suffocate him in her chest
"get the hell off me" Toshiro managed force his way out of her grip, "this is important business"
"what is it?" she asked sitting at their table and becoming serious
"we're getting the old band back together" Hikaru made himself known to her
"why now?" she wondered out loud
"our enemies are on to us so we need to strike back as fast as we can" Ichigo told her
"fine let me get a few thing from my place" the four stood up, "Hiro I'm taking my break" she shouted back as they left
"you know you're not coming back" Toshiro said
"yeah but I didn't want to see hi…" all of a sudden one of the buildings in the town exploded sending debris everywhere
"what the hell was that?" Ichigo asked as more buildings exploded
"it's kido and it's coming from the mountain" Hikaru pointed to a ridge above the village with soul reapers firing on the village
"my zanpakuto and everything is at my place" Rangiku ran past all the panicking people in to a building and came back a few minutes later with her zanpakuto and a bag
"I don't know how they found out you were here but we need to go now" Hikaru said about to run but he was stopped by Ichigo
"we need to help these people" Ichigo told him
"fine" Hikaru gave in, "I'll take the ones firing the kido you take care of the ground forces"
"what ground forces?" Ichigo asked
"those ones" Hikaru pointed to about 15-20 soul reapers charging in to the village, "good luck"
Hikaru flew up to the ridge and proceeded to kill the soul reapers there while Ichigo used a getsuga to thin the ground forces numbers before Toshiro and Rangiku took care of the rest, it took less than two minutes to take care of all of them after they were all confirmed dead the four met in the centre of the village, "that was a strange attack" Hikaru commented
"why" Ichigo asked
"I would have thought they would be more sneaky or discrete about capturing a captain or lieutenant class soul reaper but this attack looked like it was more about maximising the damage" Hikaru explained his suspicion
"the attack on my village was like that, in fact the soul reapers there didn't even recognise me as a captain" Toshiro inputted
"so you think they are going around destroying whole villages but why?" Ichigo asked
"I don't know but in any case we need to move now" Hikaru said
The four left the village and managed to get back to the cave before night fall, the three captains were talking while Rangiku was off doing something, "we have Rangiku so in the morning me and Ichigo will go to district 10 south" Hikaru set out a game plan
"fine what will I be doing?" Toshiro asked
"the only thing you can do, I need you to help train Tarou"
"ok" Toshiro agreed
The next morning Ichigo and Hikaru left the cave and went to district 10 north which was only about half a day away by horse. The two captains arrived in an averaged sized town with crowds of people everywhere, "so who are we looking for?" Ichigo asked
"no idea" Hikaru stated without looking at Ichigo
"do you know where they are?" he asked
"no" Hikaru replied again without looking
"great we're just walking around blind" Ichigo said getting frustrated
"how about some tea" Hikaru walked in to a tea shop the two were passing and Ichigo followed
The two sat down and a waitress came up to them for their order, "what would you like?" she asked in a bland tone
"wel…" they both looked up at her, "NEMU"
"oh it's you two I should get master Mayuri" she walked off in to the shops back part
"so we found them" Hikaru said
Mayuri walked out of the back of the shop, without his make up or attachments, "what are you two doing here?" he asked as he sat down with them
"we're getting everyone back together" Hikaru told him, "what are you doing here?"
"I own this shop" Mayuri told them
"I didn't know you had an interest in tea" Ichigo said
"I don't that's why Aizen would never think I would be here" Mayuri explained
"good thinking but we need you to come with us" Hikaru said
"fine" Mayuri stood up, "Nemu we're closing the shop"
"yes master Mayuri" Nemu kicked all the customers out and the four left the town without a problem
"that was surprisingly problem free" Ichigo commented as they left
"you're right I'm surprised" Hikaru said, "well let's just get back"
