Three Months later
My phone buzzed once again on the bench I left it on while I was working out and I knew if I didn't check it they may not stop. As I picked up my phone I felt like I was going to explode with anger and relief as an unknown number flashed on the screen.
"Aeron, it's about time you called me" I spoke.
"Meet me at Dominick's grave at 9" Aeron's voice replied and then hung up.
"It took him this bloody long to get in contact with me! Three months I've been away from my kids and my fiance and he just now decides to get in contact with me? I am going to kill him that is for sure" I growled as I got up to shower.
I had about an hour to shower and get ready before I had to be there, so I took a twenty minute shower and jumped into hunter green cargo skinny jeans, my leather combat boots, Captain America t-shirt and warm bomber jacket. I texted Steve that I would be home tonight after I eliminated the Aeron problem once and for all. I smiled at his concern and asked me to take backup if I was meeting Aeron tonight. He knew I would never risk putting others in danger by taking backup with me, but I loved that he still asked me to. I transported to the ceremony just as the clock neared 9 pm.
A flurry of snow swirled around me defensively as I crept through the cemetery that was supposed to hold Dominick's body if he had been buried. As I reached the memorial for my fallen comrade I could feel Aeron's dark presence. As I whirled around I came face to face with Aeron, the demigod that had tried to enchant me before I met Dominick and then Steve.
"Why did you call me here?" I questioned.
"Because you are supposed to be mine not some Super Humans" Aeron growled.
"I am not like those other girls. I am the daughter of Aphrodite I control all things having to deal with love and infatuation. I see past your charms and to your soul which is dark and filled with hate. There is no room in your heart for love and I will not be your pawn to world destruction. You can kill me before I would ever consider working with you" I responded in a frightening growl as I shifted into a werewolf and jumped at his throat.
As I was about to latch onto his throat he disappeared and reappeared behind me stabbing me through the heart and vanishing for the last time.
"I'm so sorry. I-I should have li-listened to-to you. I jumped at his throat in my werewolf form and he-he disappeared and then stabbed m-me through the heart wh-when he reappeared. I-I love you" I whispered to Steve on the phone as the blizzard died and tears rolled down my cheeks.
I shivered as my body lay bare in the snow and I felt the life drain from me slowly.
"KAS! NO! PLEASE BABY STAY WITH ME! GODS SAVE HER! I NEED HER! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HER! SHE CAN'T DIE NOT NOW WHEN I NEED HER THE MOST! SAVE HER PLEASE!" I could faintly hear Steve yell to me and the Gods.
I released my last breath as Steve was about to start yelling at me and then the skies rumbled with thunder as a bolt of lightening struck my body and the line went dead.
Third POV
"NO!" Steve yelled when the line went dead and he crumbled to his knees.
"Steve we found her!" Tony yelled running into the gym and stopping dead in his tracks.
He shook as he sobbed and the phone fell out of his hands onto the floor. He could hear Tony walk up to him and pick up the phone. He didn't say anything as he saw that she had just called. Steve could hear him tapping at his phone and then silently rubbed his back. He'd seen this three times now. Once when Peggy died, a second time when Bucky disappeared again before Kas and her friends got here, and now.
"Hey, Steve come here" Rachael soothed pulling him into her arms after she came in and Tony left.
"JARVIS play me back the audio from the last call Cap got" Tony spoke to his AI when he was in the elevator headed to the lab.
"Right away, Sir" JARVIS replied and then played the audio.
"I'm so sorry. I-I should have li-listened to-to you. I jumped at his throat in my werewolf form and he-he disappeared and then stabbed m-me through the heart wh-when he reappeared. I-I love you" Kas' voice spoke.
"KAS! NO! PLEASE BABY STAY WITH ME! GODS SAVE HER! I NEED HER! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HER! SHE CAN'T DIE NOT NOW WHEN I NEED HER THE MOST! SAVE HER PLEASE!" Steve yelled and then as her last breath escaped you could hear thunder as the line went dead.
"Sir, I believe that Kassandra is dead based on that audio. There is no way she could survive a blade to the heart and being struck by lightening" JARVIS spoke after the audio stopped.
"She can't be dead. She can't be dead! SHE CAN'T BE DEAD!" Tony yelled throwing things around the lab.
Olympus
"Sire, the bolt that Zeus sent to heal and revive Kassandra did what he wanted it to, but there were other affects as well" a nymph spoke to Apollo.
"What is it, Althea?" Apollo asked.
"Her vampire side is gone forever, but her werewolf form still remains within her. No matter what type of magic we use she can never become a vampire again and will never be able to remove the werewolf from her" she replied.
"Well, this should be interesting. Is she awake yet?" He spoke.
"No, Sire" Althea answered.
"Thank you" Apollo smiled allowing her to walk away.
"The bolt I used was not the one I set aside in case she died. The one I promised Aphrodite still resides in its case and will remain there for as long as possible. She is meant for greater things than she knows. I intend to make sure she reaches her potential" Zeus spoke walking up behind Apollo as they both watched Kas from the door of her room on Olympus.
"Does Hades and Hel know?" Apollo asked not bothering to turn and look at Zeus.
"They agree with me. Her place is not in Elysium or Valhalla. She will bring about peace in the nine realms and will bring this long term feud between us and the Asgardians to a halt. No correction she already has. She is bringing us together and we will finally be one family" Zeus replied.
"Have you told her family that she is alive?" Hera asked joining the two men.
"Not yet. I was going to send Aph to bring them up here. They are going to discover that there is no body where Aeron left her for dead in a matter of minutes" Zeus spoke.
"What has she been doing for three months?" Aphrodite asked leaving her daughters bedside to speak to the three Gods at the door.
"Making herself stronger and putting some very bad men away from what I've heard" Apollo replied.
"She is stronger that is for sure, but I fear that she will not be the same. Her injuries have occurred too closely together" Aphrodite spoke of her daughter.
"That's the thing about Kassandra, dear, she is never the same. She is always adapting to life which is what will make her a great leader in days to come" Hera stated.
"Lord Zeus, where is Kassandra?" Percy yelled running up the hall with Annabeth not far behind him.
"Right here Percy. Has your father come as well?" Zeus replied.
"Along with Athena" Annabeth spoke once they were at the door.
"We should have been there when he threw her into to Tartarus again. She's gone through too much. She deserves a normal life, not one full of monsters, Titans, and anything else that's been trying to kill her" Percy whispered looking at his best friend, but he noticed something wasn't right as did Annabeth.
"Did you check her wings to make sure that they were okay?" Annabeth asked knowing what Percy was thinking.
"They are fine. Why do you ask?" Apollo replied feeling a bit worried now that the two demi-gods were.
"The tattoo has gotten bigger" Percy whispered as he and Annabeth walked over to the bed.
"What are you talking about?" Hera asked in confusion.
"Kas' wings turn into a tattoo on her back when she isn't using them, but they've grown over her shoulders and are heading to her chest. They look like... blades" Annabeth explained as she looked at the tattoo that had indeed grown.
"Should we be concerned?" Zeus asked.
"No, but her wings may have just become more of a weapon than before. Percy roll her over" Apollo spoke looking at his niece's tattoos.
Percy rolled Kas over and Apollo lifted the shirt they had put her in just enough to see that the tips of her wings now had daggers as well. He could also see what looked like faint flames and electrical bolts covering her arms after they had rolled her back onto her back. He was perplexed by this because her powers should not be increasing in such a way, unless this was a result of the bolt that revived her. As he looked closer at her arms Kas sat up with a deep gasp and wide emerald green eyes. The flames and electrical bolts disappeared with her wake and everything fell silent.
"Steve! Where is Steve?" Kas exclaimed trying to scramble out of bed.
"I'm going to get him and the rest of your family right now, why?" Aphrodite asked her daughter.
"I know where Bucky is and he is very much alive" Kas smiled knowing things really had changed for the better even if Aeron and his army was still out there, but she now had a way to find them and take them down for good.
