Chapter 53-THE END
Tarou lay on the ground staring up at the sky as he listened to everyone fight around him, "hey Hisana you ok" he asked the girl lying next to him
"so you do remember me I thought you were just faking" she said cracking a small smile, "yeah I'm fine"
Tarou let out a breath as he focused his hearing on the sound of fighting going on around him; the screams of death, the sound on metal against flesh, the sound of blood falling to the ground.
"what the hell are you doing?" Hikaru's face appeared over Tarou breaking his thoughts
"I can't really move" he explained, "I need you to pick me up"
"no you're a grown man get up yourself" Hikaru walked right past his son leaving him on the ground
"HEY YOU NEED TO HELP ME OLD MAN GET BACK HERE!" Tarou shouted after him
"calm down I'll help you" Hiraku appeared above Tarou as he picked him up and sat him against a wall
"wait why are there two of you?" Tarou asked as he looked between the twins
"I'm your father's twin brother, Hiraku"
"wait I have an uncle!" Tarou exclaimed surprised
"actually including me you have three or two we might have killed one" Hiraku told him
"and why haven't I met any of you?" Tarou asked
"well I was dead, Kichiro hates Hikaru and Hikaru hates Daichi but you must have met Airi, Hikaru couldn't have kept her away"
"no I don't remember meeting her"
"well we need to get you medical help" Hiraku diverted the conversation as he picked Tarou up to find help
While they were talking Hikaru stood over Hisana, "quit the act I know you can get up"
As soon as he said it Hisana pushed herself up to sit in front of the captain, "what do you want~?" she asked not looking at him
"I want to ask what you will do next" Hikaru stared intently at the girl
"what do you want me to?" she asked
"if you go back to your family you could be spared the fate of the rest of the captains but if you want to stand by Aizen then your fate will be left to the head captain" Hikaru explained to her
"I could escape right now and continue Aizen's work if I wanted to"
"I wouldn't stop you but all the captains would be sent to kill you"
"would they want me back?" she asked finally looking at the captains, "after what I've done"
"I've killed two maybe three of my brothers and my family still accepts me, I admit is was rough at first but we moved on and I don't doubt that Ichigo would move on the second he sees your face"
"where is he?" she asked fighting back tears
"I sent him ahead to the judgment of God, so come on" Hikaru grabbed her by the collar and shunpo'ed to the foot of the judgment of God where he dropped her
The scene was chaotic, there were bodies everywhere and blood was on everything, Aizen's captains lay on the ground in defeat and the captains finished off the rest of Aizen's army. Hisana got up and walked forward before shouting, "STOP! IT'S OVER AIZEN HAS BEEN DEFEATED AND AS CAPTAIN OF SQUAD 2 WE SURRENDER"
"what the hell are you doing Izumi" Hisana looked over to Sachiko, the source of the voice
"it's over there is nothing left"
"if there is nothing left then I will take everyone else down with me, BANKA….." Sachiko released all her power when Kichiro appeared out of nowhere and kicked the blade from her hand
"it's over just let it go" Kichiro said as he held his wound closed
Everything had gone silent as everyone stopped fighting and was staring at the former squad 2 captain, she could feel everyone staring but only focused on one face.
"is that you Hisana?" Ichigo asked barely able to get the words out
Unable to look at him Hisana looked at the ground as she answered, "yes"
In his excitement Ichigo dropped Zangetsu as he ran over and tackled his daughter both barely able to hold in tears, "don't you hate me?" she asked as she buried her face in his shoulder
"no but your mother might be a bit angry" he joked as he kept her in a vice like grip
"I can't stand happy endings" Hikaru commented as he turned away and walked towards the judgment of God
One week later
All the captains, their lieutenants and everyone else stood in the meeting room as they all watched the trial go on, all of Aizen's captains stood in front of them in chains as the old man read off their crimes against the Seireitei and the soul society, "all twelve of you have been found guilty of these most heinous crimes for which death is too light but …" Hikaru stepped forward and interrupted the judgment, "yes Captain Hikaru?"
"Head Captain I request you release former captain of squad 2, Hisana Kurosaki and former captain of squad 7, Kichiro in to my custody"
"and why is that?" the old man asked, intrigued
"due to the complete destruction of the Gotei 13 I have decided to reform squad 5 in to the rehabilitation squad and will reform them in to useful members of the Gotei 13" Hikaru explained
"fine I release these two prisoners in to your custody and I assume you would like custody of your twin brother as well"
"thank you very much Head Captain" Hikaru bowed slightly as he stepped back in to line
"as for the rest of you" Yamamoto turned back to the former captains, "due to the lack of resources and need for focus elsewhere you will not be executed but you will be exiled to Hueco Mundo and if you are found in the soul society or the world of the living you will be killed on sight" Yamamoto slammed his cane on the floor sentencing them
The captains watched the prisoners get escorted out before they all filed out, Hikaru was about to go back to the rubble of his squad when he was stopped by Ichigo, "what do you want?" he asked
"just to thank you for saving Hisana"
"don't thank me I need subject of my rehabilitation squad"
One year later
The Seireitei was completely peaceful, the picture of serenity; Yamamoto sat looking over the newly rebuilt Seireitei, Soi Fon was berating Omaeda, Renji was forcing his way through paper work, Unohana treated the poor souls from squad 11, Byakuya just enjoyed the rare peace and quiet, Sajin took the chance to catch up on some reading, Shunsui was drunk as usual, Toshiro was trying to get his lazy Lieutenant to do some work, Kenpachi was sending his squad to squad 4, Mayuri was locked in his lab like always and Ukitake was taking a well-deserved rest.
Ichigo sat round a table eating with his family, he looked at them as they laughed and joked and his mind was brought back to when they were imprisoned and thought how close he was to not being able to see this, "what are you looking at dad?" Masaki asked after he had been staring for a while
"nothing" Ichigo said as he snapped out of it and started eating
"don't worry kid he's been an idiot since I first met him" Rukia commented
"says the girl who was amazed by a juice box" Ichigo mumbled
"what was that?" Rukia asked hitting him over the head, "where would you be without me?"
"probably much happier without having to see your terrible drawings"
"MY DRAWINGS ARE MASTERPIECES" Rukia shouted back
"YEAH IN YOUR DELUSIONAL HEAD"
The Kurosaki siblings continued to watch their parents fight over art for a few minutes before Kenshin suggested they go see Hikaru
They made the short trek over and found Hikaru trapped in an awkward silence with his three brothers as they stared at each other, "what's going on here?" Kenshin asked to break the silence
"mum is making us spent time together" Hikaru said plainly not breaking his stare
"you know what I'm done goodbye" Daichi stood up and started to leave before all the brothers felt a cold chill down their spine
"sit down" the words came out of nowhere forcing Daichi back down
"she's here" Hiraku whispered as all four brother looked afraid
"do you just want to go in to town" Hisana suggested
The two older siblings agreed and they left the terrified quartet, "so what do you think is going to happen?" Kenshin asked as they walked through a market
"hopefully nothing but I am going to become a captain" Masaki said
"I just want things to stay the way they are now" Hisana told the two
"yeah but we are never that lucky" Kenshin commented as the three of them continued to walk through the market making jokes and laughing without any real cares in the world.
