Bre's POV the next morning

Cass didn't make breakfast again... I wonder what's happening with her. If she keeps pushing stuff like cooking off the other members will start getting pissed. Sighing I walked over to the fridge to look around for something I could cook. After a while I managed to find some instant ramen that I didn't even know we had. It's not her cooking but it's better than nothing so they should be grateful. I quickly set out to cooking enough for everyone else and even added some egg to it so it wouldn't be so bad.

Turning around I went to carry the pot of nearly boiling ramen over to the table only to run straight into someone. "Jesus! Watch it!" I yelled in shock as some of the broth splashed out onto the person. "I'm so sorry!" I whipped around, nearly spilling the rest of the broth onto myself as I put the pot back on the counter.

"Ow! Fuck! What the hell was that!?" I froze as I quickly recognized the voice and was half tempted to just run for it.

"I'm really sorry, Hidan." My voice came close to cracking as I started to pat him down with a cool rag. "But why the hell were you right behind me?"

"What the hell were you doing with a pot of boiling water!?" He snapped back, changing the subject so it was my again my fault, and pushing me off of him.

"I was making food for everyone..."

"Why the fuck are you making food? Where the hell is that stupid whore?"

"Her NAME is CASS so how about you learn to use it." I grumbled under my breath, too worried to say it loudly in case he heard me. "I don't know where she is."

"Well I don't want to eat your shitty cooking, go and find her."

"If you don't want to eat her cooking you can starve then, you stupid fucking ass." I looked up to see Cass leaning against the doorway, looking like she was ready to kill a man. She walked over to me and stared Hidan down until he started laughing in her face.

"Whatever Whore. Just know, sooner or later you won't be of any use to that jackass Pein and when that happens, your head is mine." Hidan mimed slitting a throat and I swallow the knot that was forming in my throat.

"Whatever you say you dumb shit." Cass turned to me, ignoring him completely as he walked out of the kitchen. I guess he went for not eating... Oh she's still staring at me.

"What?" I fidgeted under her gaze and turned back around, tossing the rag I was still holding into the sink before going back to serving breakfast.

"What was that about?"

"I spilled some broth on him cause he was standing right behind me with I turned around." Setting down the pot I turned to watch Cass bring over bowls and chopsticks. "I didn't know you would be back in time to make food."

"It's fine. I enjoy the break." She set the table quickly before sitting down, just as Kakuzu, Tobi, and Zetsu came in for food. I sat beside her and watched as her entire persona changed, as soon as he walked in she was looking down and slightly curling into herself as if she was trying to hide.

"I didn't know you ate normal food Zetsu." I muttered, trying not to feel threatened by him.

"Every now and then. We don't always have bodies that need disposed of, that is unless you're volunteering." His gold eyes never left Cass as he talked but I still shuddered as if he was staring at me.

"N-no... I'm perfectly fine thank you." Looking down I quickly made Cass and my bowl, setting them down in front of us. The tension in the room was steadily increasing and even Tobi knew not to speak. I ate slowly and kept an eye on Cass, not all that surprised that she wasn't eating. Once I was done she quickly got up and helped me to clean everything before we headed back to our room. "Who do you have training with today?"

"No one. I was already working with Leader this morning and since Kisame is still gone..." We both stopped as someone knocked at our door and I walked over, opening it and frowning at seeing Zetsu standing there.

"Just... give her these." Before I had a chance to protest he had already shoved a letter and small bouquet into my hands. He shifted awkwardly. "Sorry. For threatening to eat you... Just, please make sure she gets them." I sighed heavily and nodded and he quickly walked off down the hall. I leaned out and looked both ways, making sure no one else was coming to bother us, before I closed the door.

"What did he want?" I screamed slightly and jumped, finally noticing that Cass had moved behind the door. "Sorry."

"Jesus christ... at least make a noise woman!" I took some deep breaths before handing her the flowers and card. "He wanted me to give these to you. I guess they're an apology."

"He already apologized several times..."

"Well maybe he isn't going to stop until you forgive him." I shrugged and walked over to the chair between our beds, Cass walking into the bathroom to get a vase for the flowers. She sighed heavily as she set them down on her nightstand and threw herself onto her bed. "Are you going to forgive him? He seems really sincere."

"I know... I know he's really sorry about it... I just, I don't know, I guess I don't want it to happen again."

"Liar. You totally want to kiss him again."

She laughed a little before rolling onto her back. "I didn't mean the kiss. The kiss was nice, the bite wasn't. I'm just afraid that if we do kiss again that he'll bite me again and I won't be able to stop him this time." I nodded and there was an awkward silence until she squirmed around so that she was facing me. "What about you and Hidan? The sexual tension is thick enough to cut."

"What!" My face turned bright red and I quickly ducked my head, letting my bangs cover my face. "I don't know what you're talking about!" She laughed loudly and I glared up at her. "You shut up! And what do you even mean? Obviously it's all very one sided..."

"Oh yeah, sureeee. Whatever you say."

"How about you shut your face and just read your letter!?"

"Aw you are no fun."

I rolled my eyes and quickly picked up one of the books off our shelf, trying to ignore her by reading it. Does she really think he likes me? I mean... she is better at noticing these sorts of things, but she can't really be serious can she? There's no way he'd actually like someone like me... And doesn't Jashin forbid that sort of thing or something? Sighing again, I actually started to read the book I was holding and before too long I didn't notice anything else around me.

A few hours later

I closed my book with an annoyed sigh, scowling over to Cass who had started to go on and on about something her and Deidara had started watching. Some art program, I had no idea what it was, all I knew is that I couldn't ignore her anymore. She looked over at me, pleased to see that I had finally started listening. "So I was wondering when you wanted me to cut your hair. You let it grow any longer and it'll start to get caught on things."

"Oh... I hadn't really thought of that... And I do suppose it would be pretty bad if someone where to get a hold of it during a fight."

"My thoughts exactly." Cass said smugly as she put her elbows on her knees. "So go on, tell me what you want. I'll make a sketch and you tell me if I'm right."

I shrugged and turned to her, brushing my bangs out of my face. "Well we can start with those. Could you shorten them so they stay out of my eyes but still come down around my face?" She nodded and I watched her as she started to sketch me out some bang options. "Ooo, that one. And the rest of my hair... I guess just a straight cut across at the middle of my back."

"And where do you want the layers from your bangs to stop?"

"Just... like blend them in as you get to the hair behind my ears."

"Alright. Let's do this."

"Um, you sure you know what you're doing?" I hesitantly followed her as she walked to the bathroom and I pulled my chair along with me.

"Don't worry. I've been practicing on myself for a while now haven't I?"

"That's true, and your hair doesn't look like shit."

"Oh, gee, thanks man." I sat down as she came out with a spray bottle, comb, towel, and scissors. "Now just sit tight." I let out another sigh as she put the towel over me and started to comb my bangs into my face. I did my best to sit still as she sprayed down my bangs and started to cut away. At least she does better than some of the hair dressers... she hasn't come close to cutting me yet. As I sat there Cass started to hum quietly to herself before wandering off for a second.

As she came back I noticed that she was holding a small mirror. "Do you want your bangs shorter or is that good?" She handed me the mirror and I used it to look at myself, a bit impressed by how well she was doing so far.

"A little bit shorter."

"Alright." Again she went to trimming my bangs and in a bit she had me look again. "What about now?" I gave her a thumbs up and she grinned stupidly before starting to cut the hair around my face. When she was satisfied that it was even and looked good she walked around behind me and pulled all my hair over the back of the chair, combed it out, and cut away. "Ok, all done, just let me brush the hair off your face. " She was quick to come and get all the little stray hairs off my face before pulling the towel off of me.

"You all done?"

"Yep."

"Sweet. Could you put it up into one of those braided buns?"

"Uh, well I can try. Just let me clean up." I nodded and walked into the bathroom to look at my hair, actually really happy with how it turned out. Cass moved around me as she put things away and swept up the floor. When she was done cleaning she grabbed some more things and had me sit back down. A few minutes later she had my hair braided and pinned into a nice swirling bun on the back of my head. "All done. It looks pretty nice."

I laughed a little and stood back up. "Awesome. Isn't it about lunch time? What are we eating?"

"Jesus christ you're gonna work me to death aren't you?" All I did was grin at her as we started walking to the kitchen to cook up lunch. "And I was thinking of making like pulled pork sandwiches or something." I nodded and my stomach growled slightly making her chuckle at me. As we walked into the kitchen Cass went to the fridge, getting out some cooked pork I didn't even know was there, and I went to cutting some rolls in half for buns.

I let out a loud yelp and nearly threw the knife and bun I was holding onto the counter as quite a bit of blood started to pool in my palm. Cass' head shot up at the noise and she paled at the sight of all the blood. "Throw me a towel or something!" Her eyes snapped into focus at my yell and she almost ripped the drawer out as she grabbed a towel and took two very fast sets right to me, wrapping the towel tightly around my hand twice. "If you're going to throw up please don't do it on me." I winced as the pain in my hand grew from the pressure.

"Shut up, and go to Konan... " Cass quickly covered her mouth and paled again before bolting out of the room, more than likely to hurl. I tossed the dirty knife into the sink as the members started to walk in for lunch.

"What was wrong with Cass?" I looked up at Kakuzu as he started to serve himself, not really seeming to really care that the food wasn't done being made. Maybe he's really hungry.

"I cut open my hand and she went to throw up." His eyebrow rose up into his hairline and what almost seemed to be curiosity crossed his face before he took his plate to sit down. "Blood makes her feel sick. We'll clean up later alright but I need to go see Konan."

"She's not here right now." I frowned and looked over as Tobi and Hidan followed what Kakuzu had done, only Tobi left instead of staying to eat. "There's a med kit in the living room, go and get it and I'll patch you up."

"Oh, uh, alright." Quickly doing as I was told I brought Kakuzu the box and sat beside him at the table, ignoring Hidan as he complained about the food being cold. Jesus does he ever shut up? Kakuzu opened up the box and pulled out a bottle, some gauze, tape, and cotton balls, setting them on the table. He unwrapped my hand and started to inspect my had, cleaning away the blood. I winced slightly at the stinging of the liquid and bit my lip to keep from complaining.

"You don't need stitches so that's good. And it looked like the blood has already almost stopped, probably from the pressure of the towel..." I nodded slightly at him and his weird creepy eyes went back to looking at my hand as he wrapped my wound with the gauze. "You should be fine now. Just change your bandage before you go to sleep and go see Konan in the morning if it looked like it might be infected."

"Ok, thank you."

"I don't enjoy owing debts." I was slightly confused by that until I realized that he probably meant how we'd been cooking food for him lately. Nodding again at him Kakuzu went to reading a paper as I cleaned up the medical kit, went and put it away, and made myself some food, tossing away the slightly bloody roll.
