Chapter 4

Sitting in a car with Alison and Jason was worse than she imagined it to be. All Alison talked about was what gossip she'd heard at school or what gossip she'd spread at school. She had a mean streak a mile wide and that didn't just get limited to people at school. She could see Jason's grip on the steering wheel tightening and tightening every condescending comment made about him or her friends or just anyone in general. And Also on seemed to know this too, as she kept smirking over at him before messing with her hair or make up in the mirror. When she took a break from her bitching Jason decided to talk.

"So. I saw your guys cheer leading practice, Amethyst seems to be pretty good don't you think Alison?" His answering smirk at his sister told Amethyst everything she needed to know. He was trying to get her to say something nice about her and if she didn't, he knew that she wouldn't put up with it.

Alison's smile turned strained as she turned to glare at her brother before turning to her.

"She was great, wasn't she? I mean, except for the fact you were dropped what, 9 times? I mean that can't be the catcher fault now can it? I bet you were just not landing correctly. But other than that. Absolutely perfect, sweetie!" Her answer probably couldn't get any faker or sarcastic if she tried. Jason grimaced in his seat and Amethyst just stared blankly at the blonde girl.

"It was actually 11 times and they wouldn't have dropped me if you hadn't not-so-quietly told them to do so without being suspicious. But I'll take your word for it, because you obviously got your head cheerleader position because you are the best on the team and not because of your other skills although you did nothing more than stand there and shout orders while checking your nails the whole time practice was going on." Her answer was as calm as could be, as if they were talking about the weather even though there was a little smirk on her face and a gleam in her eyes. Seeing Alison tense and grimace in front of her she prepared herself for the onslaught. Glancing at Jason, she saw him looking to the opposite side in hopes to cover his grin and little huffing laughs. Grinning wider when she saw him and vice verses she pulled her phone out her pocket and checked the time.

"Alright girls, were here. I'm going to go see if Mike want to play basketball or something? You ... Do whatever girls do behind closed doors." He opened his door and slammed it closed, Alison daintily getting out and doing the same. Shrugging in her head, she followed suit but closed her door more carefully than the other two. Following Alison up to the door, she was slightly surprised when she just walked in. Glancing at Jason to see him looking at her, she blushed and quickly followed the other blonde through the door.

"Girls? Where are you? I bought a new doll to play with!" Alison called through the house, grinning maliciously at Amethyst at calling her a doll they can play with. Not giving an outward reaction she silently followed Alison up the straits where they got confirmation to where the other girls were.

In the room were four other girls. Three brunettes and one other blonde, who looked so much like Alison hair and fashion wise, she knew immediately who she styled herself after. Staying in the doorway as they all greeted the new blonde, she waited to be introduced awkwardly.

"Alright girls, this is our new doll to play with. Amethyst, this is Spencer, Emily, Aria and Hannah in that order. Girls, this is Amethyst, she's new so we need to show her how it's done here in Rosewood."

Nodding to all of them, she continued to keep quiet. She didn't know how to feel about all of these girls. She'd rather be hanging out with Jason right now than being here being called a doll.

"Aria, didn't you want to go through all of your clothes today? We were meant to do this over the weekend but you canceled saying your parents wanted a family day! So how about now? We can all go through the stuff you don't want, although your taste is different to mine, but not quite as Gothic and dark as Amethyst over there." Throughout the whole speak she once didn't sounds genuine, she sounded condescending and nasty although the other girls didn't seem to notice it. At her clothing choice she looked down then back at the girl, an eye brows raised especially when everyone but Aria turned their noses up at her.

"Al-all right Alison, if you want we can go through them. I've got loads of shoes I want to get rid of, there not in season anymore. And most of my tops aren't either nor my shorts but some of my dresses should be okay. Once we've done this we need to find a day we can go shopping so I can get some in season clothes!" All the girls nodded with her and they started into pull all of her shoes out of her closet while Alison went straight for the dresses.

Putting her bag down at her feet she watched them in disbelief. 'They throw away perfectly good shoes and clothes Just because there out of season then spend probably hundreds of dollars to buy some more that are in season to just repeat the cycle a month or so later? What a waste!'

"Something the matter, Amethyst?"' A voice bought her out of her thoughts. Noticing it was Alison asking the question she decided to be honest.

"You throw away clothes and but new ones because they've gone out of season? Why not keep them so next summer or whatever season it is, you already have clothes and you don't need to buy any new ones?"

She tried to keep her voice as neutral as possible but it came out as slightly incredulous.

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry, does it bother you that were throwing away clothes we no longer want? I'm sure once were finished, Aria would let you keep the rest, I mean by the looks of you, it looks like you need it. But I'm pretty sure you wouldn't fit into any of these anyway but your welcome to try!" She laughed a tinkling laugh and the other girls joined in, while Aria said an enthusiastic "Yes" to her question.

"See? Now you'll actually have something that probably cost more than you'd ever spent on clothes in your whole life!" She laughed some more while Amethyst became more annoyed.

"No thanks, really, I don't like charity. The clothes I wear, I wear them because I like them or because there comfy not because they are expensive or show off parts of my body I don't wasn't showing, unlike you. If you want you throw them away that's your choice, but I hope you remember, money doesn't grow on trees and the money to buy new clothes with every few months your parents work hard for, and your cars too. I bet none of you have jobs or have worked a day in your life. Not everyone has cushy lives like you, with parents that given them everything. One day, you won't have that safety cushion to fall back on and then, you're going to realize just how hard it is in the real world. Now, I'm sorry, but if you'll excuse me I'm going to go outside and see if I can join your brothers in their Basketball game." Grabbing the strap to her bag, she swung it over her shoulder, gave a slight wave and walked down stairs.

She left a room full of shocked and wary girls in her wake, one of them glaring at the place shed just left a plan forming in her mind.

Authors Note- so... What do you think of this chapter? Slightly longer... More dialogue. ... Good or bad. Is Amethyst too abrupt? Bitchy? Alison? Tell me what you think!
