AN: Someone was telling me that it was a little confusing that both the past and present were formatted the same way so I've decided to start have the past be italicized. I hope this makes it easier for everyone to read it. Thank you enjoy.

"Where did you get that?" Naruto asked as they passed the newest painting in Itachi's collection through the halls on the way to Sasuke's room. It was a paiting of the beach with a ship trapped in a storm and a mermaid sitting on the beach glowing like some sort of lighthouse. Sasuke could never tell if the mermaid was leading the ship to safety or if it was leading the ship to the rocks, but the painting was actually one of Sasuke's favorites.

"Itachi got it recently," he said. "He says it's by an up and coming artist."

"It's mine," Naruto said, gaping at the painting as though it was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. "It's the painting that won me the scholarship to that school."

"Really?" Sasuke asked. He didn't doubt it, of course. He knew that Naruto would have far too high a respect for other artists then to claim another's as his own. It was just a really funny coincidence that seemed too crazy to be true.

"Yea," Naruto reached out to touch the piece, but decided against it. "I had another piece that I was going to submit, but Iruka-sensei said that he liked this one better. I think that the real reason he did that, though, is because he got to keep the other one. I was originally supposed to get it back after the show, but then they offered me a scholarship in return for the painting and I just couldn't say no."

"Ever since Itachi got that, it has been my favorite out of his entire art collection," Sasuke said, a smirk starting to form on his face. "I guess we were just meant to be."

Naruto's blush was the cutest thing that Sasuke had ever seen, though he kept that to himself. He was already being all lovey dovey, which was certainly not a concept he was used to, nor was anyone else in his family, and that he felt was just going a step too far. Besides, if no one knew about it, it would be easier for him to score those blushes from Naruto.

"That's a beautiful painting," Naruto said, pointing to the artwork Itachi was standing in front of.

"Thank you," Itachi said politely, though it was clear by his expression that he wanted nothing to do with Naruto and that he was looking for a way to get out of this conversation as soon as possible. There is, however, one thing that Itachi liked doing enough to not immediately push them both away and that was bragging. "It's my prize piece. By the great Kyuubi. Of course, you wouldn't know anything about him. He started out in America and I been having his artwork shipped here from all over the world since then."

"Yea?" Naruto asked. "Well, you know Naruto just doesn't have the same ring to it as Kyuubi does." Itachi froze and it was clear that he knew exactly what Naruto was implying. Sasuke couldn't help but to smirk at the implication. "It's nice to meet my second biggest fan," Naruto held out his hand and Itachi was forced to take it in order to keep up his good appearance. Sasuke had to hold back a snort. He had never known that Naruto could be so manipulative.

Suddenly, Itachi looked even more insulted. "Second biggest?" he hissed. He never did like being second in anything.

"Of course," Naruto shrugged. "There is one other person who has bought more of my artwork than you have."

"And who is that?"

"Sasuke of course," Naruto said, linking his arm with Sasuke's. "He just took me on a tour of his collection, you know. He's even got some of my work from before I was famous. Now that's a true fan."

Itachi's fists clenched, but he was prevented from saying anything more as someone who had been standing nearby and heard Naruto's speech gasped and came over to praise him. That person was soon followed by several others until Naruto was surrounded by a whole crowd who had long since buried his older brother.

Sasuke couldn't help the satisfied smile that stuck to his lips as all Naruto's fans came and Naruto refused to let go of Sasuke's arm even as he signed autographs on some of his lesser and therefore less expensive works. It was strange for it to be Naruto getting all the intention, but Sasuke found that he liked it. Besides, Naruto deserved it.
