And then there was eleven.
From those who left because of a desire to live somewhat normal lives, and abandon their rough life as pirates… to the one who did the forbidden, and broke the trust of the group after being together for so long.
It wasn't nice being the youngest one. It also wasn't very nice being on a ship by yourself.
Vanice looked at the bright cerulean sky and the dark deep blue hues of the ocean. The ocean seemed to spread endlessly to her as it always had looked when she first saw it.
Time was not nice in such a short time, but it kept her in check for all the thing she had done.
Her once mixed colored hair that was blond and blue, or just blue, had been long gone and left behind the her natural curly light brown hair that barely reached her neck. One of her blue eyes was still as bright as the sky and sea, and still looked as wide as when she was still a kid.
But one eye did not make the cut, the skin around it scarred and ugly, she did not bother to open it as there was nothing to show in the first place. She thought of one of the Straw Hat crew members that also had his left eye shut. Mele also had a scar like this on her face.
Puberty hurt the most. She grew in two way. Upward and sideways. To when she became a pirate at a very young age; barely a teenager and thought that she was intelligent and mature, to now. But those cringey moments were the times where she had not minded criticism, and openly wanted to embrace it.
The ship's wood floors creaked with age. It had only been, what? Four or five years? It was hard to tell.
A rather strong wave hit and moved the ship a little, but Vanice remained unmoved. She was used to being on unstable surfaces a little too much.
"Well Del la Rosa, our last stop is nearby… then finally, I guess we don't have to be stowaways for much longer." her soft voice joked before she laughed.
A breeze picked up and howled through the rather quiet ship. It was eerily quiet, as she was the only one there. A couple of balls of dust or random trash left over from all the natural elements this damn boat was exposed to, flew away to different locations. It just meant the ship needed to cleaned properly when they arrived at their destination
Just one look at it and she remembered all the times she had on board here. All the fights, dinners, naps playing and parties that had occurred.
The most memorable moments were when people yelled at her for staying up late and drinking despite being so young, when she was working on the blueprints of the ship when they were extending the rooms on the ship. Vani wondered when was the last time they talked, some of them she has barely talked to directly in years, and also thought about the last time she had a proper drink.
The times she had with the members were important to her.
Paty talking about how she was going to be a rockstar and encouraging everyone as a captain.
Sara working on clothes for all of them and even designing clothes she hoped would be popular around the world.
Robin hung around with her the most, they talked and made jokes and often sang songs. She missed those times where fun was involved the most.
Kris studied other languages and moved around to different cultural islands and brought back goodies for everyone.
Liz was the one who looked like she didn't change, her joyous and joking demeanor often cheered up everyone. She was the oldest than everyone, and even though her behavior was not like her age, Vani looked up to her.
Pris was always good at cooking and cleaning, but she had her times where she struggled and wondered if this was she wanted and thought about what she could do in her life.
Anne learned more about learning and considered also doing something else.
Sarah was always a good artist in Vani's opinion, but Sarah strived to become better and improve much more. Vani couldn't help but idolize her and quietly became a fan of her work.
Compared to how she was before, Lian was definitely not just always the crew's so called baby, and was one of the most mature members. She was an example of how hard work can pay off.
Omar was the one she could also relate to, she had taken example of how he worked out, and worked hard and wanted to become a little like him too.
She also remembered those had joined the crew, but felt like they had a different calling. Like Mele, Raymond, Anita, and Allison.
Or those who were technically party of the crew, but occasionally disappeared because of all the things they wanted to do, like Randy, Kao or Ash.
It was surprising when she joined the crew herself, often secluding herself for days before engaging in conversation. But when more people involved themselves. Oh man, those were the days to remember. Opening presents with each other, making presents for special days.
"I wouldn't mind acting dumb again if it got us some attention." she spoke to herself, to the ship, or hoped the perhaps the wind carried her message to any of her friends.
Soon enough a small somewhat secluded looking island full of trees was within her sights.
Forming a pair of wings on her back, she flew up to the crow's nest and called on a den den mushi.
"Vani here, I'm here to drop off the Del la Rosa!" she spoke loudly to the to the receiver and hoped that someone was there.
The island shook, and a large hatched opened up from the middle of the island.
"You've kept a lot of memories with the Pantless Pirates as our ship… I hope you don't mind making a couple of more."
Hi Hi, it's me! Long time no read! Well here's a chapter after nearly two years I would think... I made this chapter as a sort of introduction to everyone who was been classified as a "Pantless Pirate" since most of us moved from Skype to Discord and others are busy with college and such. But since I'm the youngest member who's still not even in college I'm just here. ALSO I MIGHT UPDATE INITIUM VERY SOON. Or re-boot it, I have quite a few chapters to write down for a friend.
