oh yeah and in case you can't tell they are at a baseball game

Kiss Cam

"Awesome seats," Raven smiled as everyone shuffled to their spots.

Morgead grunted and looked pointedly at Jez. She was the one who hadn't wanted to come. Thought it would be no fun. Like she didn't want to spend time with that gang.

It was precisely why Morgead made her come.

Besides, when did they ever do anything like this? None of them had been to a Giants game, ever.

The gang sat down and settled in. Thistle in the aisle seat, then Raven, and Jez, Morgead, Pierce, and Val.

"These seats are so uncomfortable," Jez grumbled.

Morgead glanced at her and muttered, "Don't be so cynical, Jezebel."

Here he was, trying to make an effort, and she was being a total pain.

"You guys sound like each other, you know that?" Thistle leaned around Raven and asked.

"What d'you mean?"

Thistle gazed at them for a second and then sighed. It struck Morgead as odd that she was suddenly acting her real age.

"Usually Morgead's the one complaining about everything, and you Jez, you're always bugging him to do stuff."

Well, Morgead thought. she did have a point there.

"Oh, cram it, twerp," Jez huffed. She crossed her arms and slouched deep into her seat. "Wake me when it's over."

It was the bottom of the fourth inning, and Morgead was fairly certain that Jez had been true to her word and had fallen asleep. He glanced over and nudged her arm gently. Her head bobbed slightly, and she peeled open one eye to glare at him.

"What."

"Did you have to wake the beast…" Pierce mumbled from beside Morgead, but he was ignored.

"I'm going to get some junk. You want to come?"

Jez frowned and considered his offer. She glanced down at the field and asked, "So how long will this getting food thing take?"

Of course. And she was still grouchy as well; perfect.

"Depends," Morgead sighed and stood up." "Either way, I'm going now. Come if you want, I don't care.

Morgead wormed out to the stairs and glanced back a few steps down to see Jez following him grudgingly. Morgead allowed himself a grim smile at this. At least she'd rather come with him than sit around in the hot sun doing nothing.

Casting a spiteful glance around, Jez muttered, "God, there's so many of them around."

Morgead cast a fleeting look over his shoulder and nodded. There were a lot of vermin here, but at the moment, Morgead wasn't going to be the one to complain. The surplus of overweight vermin was keeping Jez close to him, occasionally snagging hold of his t-shirt when they had to squeeze though people.

Eying the food carts and serving counters, Morgead asked, "What do you think you want?"

Jez surveyed the options looking unimpressed. But suddenly her eyes lit up a bit and she grabbed onto Morgead's hand, dragging him straight through two separate lines of bleary eyed people who frowned at the pair as they pushed by.

Stopping in front of a little canteen off to the side, Jez crossed her arms and said, "Here."

Morgead glanced at the sign and looked back at Jez, unimpressed. "Popcorn."

"Yup."

"Well, that took forever," Jez remarked as they fought back into their seats.

"No kidding."

"Oh, popcorn!" Val hollered when he saw the bag Morgead was carrying. "Gimme some!"

"Yeah, yeah," Morgead passed the popcorn around, and then told everybody that it was all they were getting. Already half the bag was gone; he didn't want to waste any more.

Morgead settled back in his seat with the popcorn in his lap. Jez reached over and grabbed a handful, shoveling it all into her mouth.

"Who's winning," she slurred around the blockage of food in her mouth.

At least, Morgead was pretty sure that was what she'd said. So, just to be safe, he muttered, "Home team's winning; the Giants."

Jez nodded, and Morgead figured he'd guessed right.

"So," Jez swallowed what she was chewing and nodded at the field. "How much more are they playing for, anyway?"

Morgead smirked in satisfaction. Jez was finally showing some interest in the game. If it was the popcorn, he'd have to try that trick more often.

Morgead propped his arm on the back of Jez's chair and jerked his chin at the JumboTron, where they were keeping track of innings and the score.

"See how it says fifth inning?"

Jez nodded and leaned in for more popcorn.

"There's only nine innings in a game, and I think this one is ending now anyway. So there'll be a kind of intermission probably."

"Wait, so, how does an inning end again?"

As Morgead went more in depth about the rules of baseball, Thistle happened to notice something no one else had yet.

"Cool, a kiss cam," she mumbled, watching as couple after couple appeared on the screen, laughingly kissing each other. No one paid her any attention though, until the pointed across the stadium and cried, "Hey, look! Jez and Morgead are on the jumbo screen!"

The rest of the gang all turned curiously towards the JumboTron at the far end of the diamond. On the screen, blown up to impossible size, were Jez and Morgead. Framing the shot was a pink border with little cupids aiming arrows at them and red hearts dancing around the perimeter.

The angle on them was tight enough that you could only see the tip of raven's knee poking into the frame beside Jez, and Pierce's elbow on the other. But you could sure see Jez and Morgead.

Morgead figured it wasn't that far of a leap to look at them and assume that they might be dating. Morgead was still sitting back comfortably with his arm behind Jez, and her hair tickled his skin. Jez herself was leaning towards Morgead, sitting close enough to so she could easily pick popcorn out of the bag in his lap.

Morgead realized with a flush that they did indeed look pretty cozy.

The stadium – obviously bored with their refusal to move – began chanting, "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" and Morgead's stomach launched into a turmoil.

Morgead stole a glance at Jez just as she leaned away and shook her head quickly still staring at the screen.

"Oh, no you don't," Raven grabbed Jez's shoulders and pushed her wide eyed back into the frame.

She was nervous, Morgead noted with fierce pleasure. Not only just – she was flustered. Probably about two seconds away from jumping over Raven and Thistle and fleeing right out of the stadium.

So in one second, Morgead made his decision.

He smirked at Jez and grabbed a fistful of hair at the nape of her neck – just enough so he could hold her head still. He ducked his head and pressed his lips to Jez's soft ones, letting his eyes flutter shut in pure bliss.

After a brief second, Morgead pulled back and released his grip of her roots. Morgead pulled his arm back to himself and tried to remember how to breathe.

Jez on the other hand, well, she didn't seem to be having any trouble breathing, but her face was bright red – nearly the same shade as her fiery hair – and she glared at Morgead like he's just stripped off all his clothes and started dancing the Macarena.

The stadium gave them an assortment of cheers – some people awwed, some laughed, and others whistled loudly.

Morgead felt as if he was on Cloud 9, but for the sake of his reputation, he stifled the face splitting grin threatening to crack open his skull. He'd kissed Jez! He'd really done it! And best of all: no explaining necessary.

Beside him, Jez squeaked something unintelligible and vaulted out of her chair, bounded down the stadium stairs, and didn't hit the brakes until she was safely locked inside the girl's bathroom.

The camera still lingered on Morgead sitting back and unsuccessfully supressing a dumb grin and a dopy look. The entire gang was laughing at him, but not in a mean way. Rave gave him thumbs up through tears of laughter, and Val reached around Pierce and punched his shoulder. Morgead heard Thistle squeal right before she pounced onto his lap, grinning like a fool.

Morgead laughed and rubbed his hot face. So the entire gang knew, eh? Oh well. He was fairly certain none of them would tell Jez, not unless they wanted to die soon.

Besides, how could he care about anything right now? He was in heaven!

That is, he would be if Jez didn't stake him for this…

alright thanks for reading and remember: review my children! review!
