A/N: once again I tell you about my disappointment of not owning Harry Potter or any of the Potterverse. That was all up to the great mind of J.K. Rowling.

Christmas Day, Hermione POV

Hermione sat in her parent's living room reading her favourite book; Hogwarts, a History, waiting on her parents to wake up. It was a little after 7:30am, so the Granger's would not yet be up for another hour or so. It was common for Hermione to be up this early on Christmas day as she couldn't sleep due to the excitement of spending the whole day with her mum and dad in pure family togetherness time. She loved her parents and loved spending time with them and wanted to get as much time with them as possible before her return to Hogwarts. About half an hour later she heard a tapping at the window. Hermione went over and opened the curtains to reveal a glorious snowy start to a white Christmas and found the source of the tapping. As she suspected she found an Owl however she didn't recognise the small light brown owl that sat on the window sill shivering slightly from the snow. Being a sympathiser for all creatures, Hermione quickly let the owl in and shut the window behind it going into the kitchen to find it a snack and a bowl of water. The owl followed her and gratefully took the treat and water while offering her its leg where a small box was tied to it wrapped in brown paper.

Hermione smiled, she wasn't expecting anymore presents, Harry and Ron had already given her theirs and the ones from her parents were under the tree. The small owl flew up to perch on her shoulder and nuzzled into her neck as a thank you before flying back over to the window, ruffling up it's feathers readying itself to go back outside. Hermione chuckled at the small bird and let it out again with a soft spoken farewell. Sitting back down at the chair next to the window she started to carefully open the gift. Once inside the paper she hesitantly lifted the lid of the box. The bushy haired girl let out a surprised gasp at the beautiful pendant that was inside, it was a gold key shaped pendant shone like the sun and had a heart shaped ruby set in the middle of the key. It wasn't huge or flashy but to Hermione it was perfect. She turned it over and saw an inscription that said 'meum est verum stellam in aeternum' that glowed a soft red. Hermione looked inside the box to find a card to see who it was from but found nothing, picking up the discarded wrapping paper she looked in the inside and found perfectly written in scroll, 'my star, with love'. Feeling confused the Gryffindor girl turned the pendant over in her hand and studied it intently, not hearing her mother's footsteps on the stairs.

"Good morning Hermione dear, Merry Christmas" Mrs Granger greeted her daughter warmly. Startled Hermione looked up from the necklace in her hand and smiled at her mum

"Morning mum, Merry Christmas to you too" the young girl said standing up to hug her mother

"What is that you have there? Opening presents without us?" Mrs Granger teased her daughter gently.

"Yes mum, sorry, an owl just dropped this off but I have no idea who it could be from" Hermione told her mum holding out the pendant for her to see a look of bewilderment crossing her face once more.

"My, that is quite lovely Hermione dear. Would you like me to fasten it for you? It suits your skin colour perfectly!" Mrs Granger told her only daughter while holding the necklace out for Hermione to lift her hair so she could put it around her neck.

"It is quite beautiful isn't it mum, I just wish I knew who sent it, I don't feel right not being able to thank the person properly"

"Always the proper lady I brought you up to be my dear, however if the person didn't leave their name maybe they aren't ready for you to know who they are. It is quite an awful big gesture to give somebody something this precious and maybe they don't feel comfortable with attaching their name to it, I can assure you love, they must obviously like you a lot to be giving you this. Time can only tell my beautiful baby girl, I'm sure the person will reveal themselves as soon as they feel ready."

"You're right as always mum, I just wish I knew" Hermione sighed. "Can we make French toast for breakfast? I'm starved!"

"Yes dear" Mrs Granger chuckled "Your dad will be down in a minute, help me set the table?"

"Sure mum" Hermione smiled at her mum, reaching up to touch the pendant that was now around her neck.

A/N: I actually didn't think this chapter would be as long as I didn't envision Mrs Granger making an appearance, I just wanted to cover Hermione's reaction to receiving the necklace.

Also because I forgot to say in the last chapter Pansy's necklace is enchanted to shimmer like the moon, just as Hermione's is enchanted to shine like the sun, or star, they're both burning balls of fire so same difference haha!

Anyway this very short but longer than expected chapter is the last of the Christmas ones thank goodness! It took me an awfully long time to complete the last chapter as I got stuck halfway through not completely knowing what way Draco would spend his day with Pansy and also needing some well thought through dialogue, which I hate writing, on the reactions to the gifts. I also couldn't think of what Pansy could have gotten Draco, if you have anything that you think would have been better please do not hesitate on telling me!
