The Purple Black
Bellatrix Lestrange had lost count of how long she had been there. She had started by trying to etch the days onto the wall. Every day that went by was simply another day closer to her master coming back for her. Though soon enough she had lost count, her once luscious raven black locks had matted, dirt covered her once beautiful body and she had lost weight beyond the point of being healthy. As she saw movement off in the distance she growled at the oncoming patrol. She knew it was a matter of time before she felt their icy breath and was drawn back into the memories of her past until they had taken what little bit of happiness that was left to Bellatrix Lestrange.
She backed away into her cell until she leant back against the wall, her breathing fastened as the cloaked figures made their way past her cell. She bit back a whimper as she slid to the floor, still glaring furiously at the evil creatures. She gasped at the sudden wave of cold, screwing her eyes shut as her worst memories came back to her.
"You are worthless, Bellatrix!" Druella hissed, releasing the minor Crucio she had sent at her daughter.
"I didn't mean to smash the door!" Bellatrix cried back "I just wanted to get out!"
"You were locked in your room for a reason, you idiot!" Druella glared down at the nine-year-old.
"I didn't hurt Narcissa! She fell down the stairs on her own!" Bellatrix whimpered, trying to stand on her own two feet again.
"You liar! You hexed her, she told me!" Druella snapped.
"I didn't mean to!" Bellatrix cried.
"No . . ." Bellatrix gasped, raising her hands to cover her head "Leave me alone . . ."
Bellatrix was wrapped up in her bed when her father came for her, it had been going on for years now. As soon as she was left alone he would come for her. Though it was only her second year at Hogwarts and Andromeda was still home alone with him, along with Narcissa. She couldn't risk her sisters being hurt by him, so she had to withstand it as he charmed her duvet away from her. His hands were soon on her and his whiskey scented breath was soon in her ear as he told her to be quiet.
She sobbed under his touch, it took time for her to learn to simply lay still and quiet-when he would let her lay still and quiet. She was ruined by her own father . . .
"Get away from me!" Bellatrix screamed at the Dementors, they weren't even at her cell yet, she couldn't cope with this.
Bellatrix glared at the woman she saw before her, though as far as she was aware she hadn't spotted her yet. Andromeda Tonks looked happy, something Bellatrix could only dream of being at her current moment in life. She backed into the aisle of the potions store, trying to forget the heartache that causing the woman she once called sister and the fury of her abandonment when a small tug came from her skirt.
"Mummy?" a small voice called.
Bellatrix looked down to find a pink haired little girl staring up at her, her eyes growing wide when she realised that she was not the girls mother. She glared down at her "Who are you?"
"N-Nymphadora . . . You're not my mummy . . . But you look like her." Nymphadora stuttered.
"She looks like me." Bellatrix hissed "Get away from me before I Curse you, filth."
Nymphadora backed away slightly until she looked behind her to see her own mother. With a yell of fear she ran into her mothers arms. "You stay away from my daughter, Lestrange." Andromeda hissed.
"You keep her away from me." Bellatrix snapped back "Or she won't make it to Hogwarts."
Before her sister could respond she turned and left the store, she near enough ran down the streets until she apparated to the grounds of Lestrange manor. She fell against the pillar as she screwed up her eyes in anguish. Her sister . . . She couldn't help but still love her though what she had done to her . . . she knew she would have to kill her niece one day.
Bellatrix curled onto her side, gasping for air as she watched the Dementors come closer to her, she was panicking too much, hurting too much. She was losing herself, she couldn't control it.
Bellatrix was on the floor, gasping in pain as her husband kicked her wand away from her hand.
"You are useless!" Rodolphus snapped "That is the third child you have lost now, Bellatrix! I cannot condone this behaviour!"
"You think I try to miscarry!?" Bellatrix screeched from her place on the floor as she lifted herself up onto her elbows.
"You certainly seem to be!" Rodolphus snapped before he was on the floor with her, his hand clasping around her throat as he forced his wife to look into his eyes "You will not embarrass me, you will not destroy the Lestrange line. You will produce an heir."
Bellatrix gritted her teeth, her eyes full of fury before she spat into his face "Never."
"I tried . . ." Bellatrix let out a sob, her arms clutching around her stomach "I tried to . . . You hurt me . . . Oh Rod . . ."
"Bellatrix . . ." the cool voice of her master came from across the room.
"My Lord . . ." Bellatrix replied, her hair hanging to touch the floor as she bowed deeply for the man "I apologise-"
"Enough!" Voldemort snapped "You have failed me, Bellatrix . . ."
Bellatrix looked up, straightening slightly as she furiously shook her head "I-I did not mean to, My Lord . . . I only live to serve you, My Lord!"
"You failed me, Bellatrix . . ." Voldemort spoke as he slowly walked over to the witch, drawing his wand as he readied himself to serve his punishment.
Bellatrix writhed on the floor, hitting out in her pain as she held her screams in for as long as she could before her blood curdling scream soon filled the room. It didn't last long before she was panting on the floor, a mess of sweat and pain.
"You will learn not to fail me Bellatrix . . ." Voldemort sighed as with a swift movement of his hand Bellatrix was lifted to her feet before she was standing again, he took her by the hip as he pulled her into himself "You will learn, or I will kill you."
"Y-Yes, My Lord . . ." Bellatrix breathed, relaxing slightly until with a shock she felt another crucio writhe through her. Her master held her closely as he sent the pain pulsing through her body.
Bellatrix laughed, closing her eyes as she tried to ignore the Dementors "I deserve it . . . I deserve all of it . . . I'll wait for you . . . I will serve you."
Bellatrix Lestrange's insane laughter filled Azkaban Prison, it was soon known to the Aurors that walked the floors of Azkaban as the day Bellatrix Lestrange lots her sanity.
Andromeda Tonks looked to her mother, still yelling at her at the grave side of her fallen sister. To her surprise it was Narcissa that put a stop to it, walking beside her mother and taking her arm in her own.
"Mother," the woman practically whispered, stopping her mothers yells "she isn't worth it."
Druella looked down upon the girl for a few moments before she nodded through her furious glare "You are a good daughter, Narcissa. Take me home."
Andromeda couldn't help but notice the flash of pain on her sisters face as she looked down at her, almost apologetic for all that had happened though with a small nod the graveyard was soon empty again. Narcissa apparated her mother away and Lucius was soon to follow. With a deep sigh she composed herself, walking over to her sisters grave.
"Oh Bellatrix . . ." Andromeda sighed "I'm sorry for what you became . . . for any part I had in that . . . Though if you were alive I would murder you for what you have done . . ."
She stared at the grave, mixed emotions running through her as she felt both mourning and hatred for the woman who had stripped her of her family. With a small sigh she conjured a single black rose, placing it down on the grave before with one last look she apparated back to her own modest home. She entered through the wards and into the main house, she forced a slight smile at the sight of Molly Weasley sat in her living room, a sleeping blue haired child in her arms.
"Thank you, Molly." Andromeda sighed before she leant down to her, taking the sleeping child in her own arms.
"Andromeda . . ." Molly spoke as she stood to her feet "If you need anything . . ."
"I'll be fine, thank you . . ." Andromeda spoke, watching as the red haired witch nodded before going to leave "Molly?" Andromeda practically whispered, staring down at her grandson in her arms "Thank you . . . for avenging Nymphadora . . ."
Molly watched the pair for a few moments before she nodded "You're welcome . . ." without another word Molly Weasley left through the fireplace.
Andromeda Tonks lowered herself onto her couch, watching Teddy soundly sleep as she thought of what she had lost. She had been sitting there lost in her own thoughts for so long she lost track of the time when the owl came through her living room window, placing a letter down infront of her before it left straight away. As she adjusted Teddy in her arms she summoned the letter with a small sigh, she had known where it had come from without looking at the Malfoy seal. As she carefully opened it she looked down at the parchment, only slightly surprised to read the two words that were scrawled onto the piece of parchment 'I'm sorry.'. Andromeda blinked back tears as she put the letter back down. She drew her grandson close as she kissed his hair. Perhaps Andromeda Tonks hadn't lost all of her family . . .
