I know it has been a long time since I updated this and I do apologize for those of you who have actually come back to this story. Life tends to get in the way of our hobbies. I do plan to continue this and managed to dig up my original plot line so I don't get lost along the way.

It came as a surprise to Naruto that Sasuke guided them south rather than back west towards Konoha. They'd been travelling well into the late afternoon since departing from Suna and had been delayed but once when Naruto grew frustrated with Sasuke ignoring his repeated questions and the two brawled before Sasuke threatened with continuing on the journey alone if Naruto didn't cease his pointless redundancy.

The day had been spent in silence afterwards with only the sound of their feet springing up from the sand to remind them of each other's company. Alone in his mind, Naruto pondered everything that had just happened; the mysterious appearance of his best friend, the deepening of his bond with Gaara, the ultimate decision to end the advances, and this new voyage to an unknown location. Happiness flooded him at thinking he could be beside his friend once more and the closeness he'd gained from his love with Gaara, yet he hurt from the sacrifice they'd both committed to for the sake of their villages. He knew the love would never fade but in his heart, he longed to be by the one person who'd made his heart flutter. Sasuke's company worried him as he had no idea what the rogue ninja was planning but he felt he could keep things under control if he continued to accompany him. He worried over the state of the village and whether everyone was okay in his absence. The plethora of feelings within himself became too much to bear within this intense silence and Naruto could contain himself no longer. He opened his mouth to break this inaudible prison but instead brought up his defenses as he noticed Sasuke quickening his pace. He sped up to catch up and run beside his friend while asking, "What's going on? Is someone after us?"

Sasuke glanced up at the sky then down at the horizon. In a swift motion, he abruptly stopped, bit down on his finger to draw blood, grabbed Naruto's jacket collar to pull him closer, and smacked his palm down onto the sandy ground. Almost instantly, the two were on a giant brown bird and rising up off the ground high into the sky. Naruto fell to his knees in surprise and clutched the feathers to avoid falling while screaming, "What is this thing!?"

Sasuke's expression remained emotionless but the playfulness in his voice betrayed his appearance when he replied, "Haven't you ever seen a hawk before? This is Garuda." He kneeled down to stroke the feathers and gave him two pats. The great hawk emitted a proud screech and and flapped it's immense wings in one strong motion causing them to soar briskly through the sky.

Naruto refused to stand and instead sat on the bird's back, clinging to its feathers. He glared up at Sasuke, "What the hell is going on! Why did you speed up? Why did you summon this giant bird!?"

Sasuke sat parallel to him and made himself comfortable. With a bored expression he poked fun at Naruto, "You really are the worst ninja. The sun is starting to set and we're nowhere near the shore. There's no place to camp out without being spotted in these lands."

"The shore?" he narrowed his eyes in confusion as he attempted to figure out what shore Sasuke was referring to and why they would be headed there.

"The land of waves. We should reach the outskirts tonight with Garuda's help. Then we can find a place to camp." Sasuke made note of how nervous Naruto looked atop his summon and faintly smirked. "What are you so scared of? Aren't you used to riding around on your giant toads?"

Irritation plain on his face, Naruto yelled back, "I'm not scared! You just surprised me is all, I don't see why you can't just tell me instead of doing whatever the hell you want, you bastard!" Refusing to be the butt of Sasuke's joke, Naruto adjusted himself until he could make sure he would have decent footing if he needed to. Once comfortable he turned his attention back to Sasuke. "What's in the land of waves?"

"Clues." A shadow fell on the sole Uchiha's face as he said this and despite his usual airheadedness, his friend did manage to notice this subtle change in his demeanor.

Before Naruto could badger him further about things that didn't concern him Sasuke decided he'd torment him a bit. As casually as though he were asking what time it was Sasuke asked, "Why did you make up a girlfriend?"

As tongue-tied as Sasuke expected him to be, Naruto stammered and grasped at bits of words that failed to form before finally managing to respond to what he'd hoped Sasuke had forgotten all about. "You kept bugging me about Hinata loving me and all that and well...there is someone I care about like that...but it's impossible." He looked defeated as he let these words slip out almost as if he were telling himself rather than replying to Sasuke.

It shocked him to feel this way but Sasuke's heart almost pounded at hearing Naruto state it was impossible. He'd witnessed a very intimate moment between Gaara and his friend; it looked very possible to him. Sasuke stretched out in his spot and feigned disinterest, "what happened to your supposed ninja way?" He scoffed, "It's rather unlike you to just give up. I'll bet you annoyed the poor girl to death and that's why you don't stand a chance."

Obviously angered by this, Naruto straightened himself and glared at his companion, "You wouldn't understand since you can't give anyone the time of day! It's nothing like that. Suna and Konoha are so far apart and with everything that's happened...it's just not possible. I'll never leave my home and I can't ask anyone to leave theirs either..."

The dark eyes before Naruto glistened mischievously, "You left with me."

Almost as if he'd just been challenged, Naruto lunged forward and grabbed Sasuke by the collar, "I'm taking you back home with me!" to which Sasuke simply scoffed.

Garuda screeched as though signaling that their conversation was over and began to slow down. Sasuke freed himself of his friend's grasp, stood, and carefully made his way over the bird's neck to get a better view. The sand was beginning to end and grass and trees were popping up gradually below them. He patted the bird a few times and commanded that this was far enough. The great hawk began to descend and Sasuke advised Naruto to prepare to land.

Garuda's summon ended and the two ninjas were back on their feet with Naruto once again wondering what was next.

"Hey, Sasuke, what are we doing now?"

"Don't you pay attention? I told you we need to set up camp for the night. There are plenty of caves around here; we should be fine in one." The Sharingan was activated and Naruto followed dumbly around as he knew nothing he'd find would be suitable for his snobby companion.

Night had come and Naruto was growing increasingly sleepy. While following Sasuke around, his mind wandered back to Gaara's bed and how nice it'd been to rest his head on his boyfriend's chest. And at this his emotions wavered since he realized Gaara was no longer his boyfriend. How he wished they lived simpler lives and could just spend their days in each other's company. But he knew they both had a duty to protect their comrades and knew that back in Suna, Gaara was missing him too.

"This one looks good enough, we'll be able to camp here and I can blast through the back if it's necessary." Sasuke's voice brought Naruto out of his daze and he relished in the idea of finally sleeping. They went about setting up for the night in silence. Naruto noticed the hint of bags beginning to form around Sasuke's eyes and offered to have his shadow clones keep watch while they slept so they could both catch up on sleep. This attention to detail surprised Sasuke and he inwardly thought it was good to be able to depend on Naruto.

"Put your sleeping bag beside mine." Sasuke demanded, causing Naruto to look at him strangely. Usually they'd sleep opposite each other in case of an attack.

Sasuke grew exasperated just watching Naruto's dumb expression and clarified, "There's an ant line on that side, unless you want to be covered in ants while you sleep, get on this side."

Naruto scowled, "Jeez just say what you mean, bastard. Always making things complicated..." He dragged the sleeping bag over and the two shifted until finding the best spot and tried their best to fall asleep.

Despite his best efforts, Sasuke couldn't stop thinking about what he'd witnessed in Suna. He ran it all back in his head over and over. The way Naruto looked naked, he'd seen him topless many times before but never in an erotic way and somehow that made all the difference. He couldn't forget how it felt to be close to him and drink in his scent. He couldn't forget the moans he'd let escape and even though they weren't for him, he wanted to hear them again.

Sasuke had awoken earlier to find that Naruto was completely knocked out and inwardly praised the ants for their position in the opposite side so that he could easily get back to his sleeping bag if necessary. He was glad Naruto removed his bulgy jacket before lying down and only hoped his remaining clothing didn't get in the way too much, not that he was sure what he was planning to do. He opened up his companion's sleeping bag enough to reveal down to his pantline and let his hand pass freely over the toned chest that lay before him. A wave of sensation passed through him and he yearned for more. He straddled the other boy and hesitated as he realized he would have no privacy to release himself here as he did in Suna. He contemplated whether he should continue and decided he'd already gotten up and couldn't sleep anyway, so he might as well enjoy this while he could.

He bent down and inhaled deeply the seemingly magical scent of forest that never seemed to leave Naruto. His lips grazed at the neck beneath him and the skin seemed too inviting to pass up. He trailed kisses from below the ear down the crook of his neck and stopped at the base of his neck to suckle on this spot. Ambivalence surrounded him with the fact that Naruto was dead asleep despite his kisses and the weight of his body. He didn't want to be caught doing this but was upset he couldn't hear the boy moaning again.

Sasuke continued his feast on Naruto's neck and slid a hand under his shirt to feel the smooth skin of his chest. His fingers trailed over the muscles and as he grew more and more excited he couldn't help but grind onto the other's pelvis. The feeling excited him and he wished these annoying clothes were anywhere but on Naruto right now. He continued to grind slowly and enjoyed the taste of the skin beneath his mouth. A slight shift from Naruto caused him to grow still but he remained where he was. A few moments eased his worries and he continued with his desires. To his surprise, he grinded and this time felt something he hadn't previously. He moved his hand lower and examined the area only to notice that, even in his sleep, Naruto was enjoying this playtime.

Sasuke sucked in air and was thrilled to know that he could arouse Naruto without any prior interference from someone else. He fully intended to take advantage of this moment and take what he felt should be his. He unzipped the sleeping bag a little further and fumbled with Naruto's pant button before finally opening it and setting his newly awakened manhood free. Sasuke was thrilled with how it almost sprang up upon being released and quickly took hold of it. His hand felt the organ as if almost making sure it really was Naruto's. He ghosted his fingers over the slit and begining of the head, he took hold of the shaft and slid slowly down until reaching the balls. He gave them both a soft squeeze and wondered what it would feel like if Naruto were to do this to him. He shifted up momentarily to ravage Naruto's lips and then headed back down to face the thing he'd been causing to harden more and more. He licked his own lips and teased the head, licking up all the precum that had oozed out while he'd been playing with it. He heard Naruto exhale and thought, "Good, it's my tongue that does this to you."

He wrapped his tongue as best he could around the shaft and swirled it slowly back and forth as he slid his head further down to take more of Naruto into his mouth. The body beneath him tensed up for a moment then seemed to relax while simultaneously giving Sasuke the reward he'd been seeking. "Yes, moan for me." He changed his motions from enjoying a sucker to lapping up a quickly melting ice cream cone. His hunger grew and grew and he felt Naruto begin to buck up seeking more of the warmth Sasuke's mouth provided. Sasuke's throat hummed with delight at this added movement, "I know you want more." Naruto shifted and Sasuke could have killed someone just to appease the frustration he felt in that moment. He felt the change in Naruto's sleeping chakra and knew the boy had awoken. He quickly released his new favorite toy and shifted up to display his Sharingan right before Naruto's eyes.

Instantly, Naruto was sent to a world where he was sleeping peacefully and having erotic dreams, Sasuke decided it was not yet time to let him see who was pleasuring him so he decided it would be too dark in his dream to allow Naruto to see anything. He made sure nothing about the dream would imply Gaara was involved. In this world, the night had gone undisturbed as he dreamt and then suddenly he jolted awake to find Sasuke simply laying in his own sleeping bag wondering why Naruto had awoken. The jutsu was released and Sasuke knew he'd once again gotten away with having his way, but he had expected nothing less.

With his hand on his most sensitive parts, Naruto wondered why he'd had such an intense dream and was embarrassed that he'd apparently felt himself up in his sleep with his best friend sleeping right beside him. Luckily in this dark cave, it was difficult to see. A rush had passed through him causing him to awaken when his shadow clone apparently fell asleep on a tree and fell over, consequently releasing the jutsu.

He got up out of his sleeping bag and created two clones this time to make sure they didn't fall asleep. As the clones made their way outside, Sasuke emerged with a basic Sharingan activated. "Did something happen?"

He felt his body heat up in embarrassment as he tried to convince himself Sasuke couldn't have been awake during his sleep playtime earlier. As calmly as he could manage given that he was still slightly aroused, he explained, "Didn't mean to wake you, my clone fell asleep and the jutsu ended so I sent out two more."

Sasuke deactivated his Sharingan right after noting that there was still a bulge within Naruto's pants and dropped his guard a bit, "That's why he suddenly woke up. Damn Naruto, even as a clone he messes everything up." Lying back in his sleeping bag he simply responded with, "Alright, I'm going back to sleep."

"Yeah okay, I'm gonna step out to get some fresh air and make sure these guys are all set then I'll come right back to sleep too." He followed after his clones and Sasuke held his eyes open until he felt all three chakras away where the previous clone had been.

The struggle to sleep frustrated him and he lay simply wondering if he would ever have the freedom to touch Naruto as he wanted to or if at least he'd be able to control himself. But he knew, he'd risked coming back for him and there was no going back, he'd set his mind on this. While he was in a hurry to end his search and get his plans moving, he was glad he was able to spend this time alongside his friend. One thing that did manage to ease him was knowing that despite the fact that Gaara did lay his hands on what should be his, Gaara only penetrated Naruto while in that ridiculous jutsu. He'd never cared for touching a woman's body as the only person he wanted had always been Naruto and Naruto was no woman. He wondered how the anatomy of it even worked, did Naruto feel full pleasure from that false form? He couldn't. Sasuke had to be the only one capable of completely fulfilling his desires, he had to be.

Naruto's chakra seemed to approach alone, "The clones are in place again." But instead of entering the cave as Sasuke expected, he seemed to hover outside near the entrance but out of sight. "What is this idiot doing?" Sasuke sat up in his bag and activated his Sharingan. Luckily, Naruto was close enough that Sasuke could see his chakra resting in a tree branch. "This is how the idiot clone ended up falling, what the hell is he doing out there?"

The dream from earlier repeated itself in his mind and Naruto wondered why he'd suddenly become such a pervert. He supposed his night with Gaara had awoken a different side of him and he partially cursed it as it was an embarrassing nuisance to have to be dealing with trying to release himself in Sasuke's company. He found a branch with enough foliage to cover him up and let the images of his memory flood over him as he let his annoyance free from its pants prison and held it firmly. He almost whimpered as he realized his own touch was not as inviting as that of the ones he'd received in his dreams. He remembered the first dream he'd had, where he had woken to Gaara's eyes peering into his own and the two of them sprawled in bed. The way Gaara made him be silent hinted at a hidden dominant side he wished he could experience more fully. His hand stroked slowly and he dripped precum. He hazily remembered that in tonight's dream he'd felt the sensation of a mouth licking up his precum. It had felt the same as his last dream and he hated that the cave was too dark for him to be able to see Gaara. He drowned in his carnal thoughts and let his hand take control.

Though Sasuke couldn't see the details at hand, he could see that the chakra from Naruto's arm seemed to repeatedly move up and down. His excitement flared and he knew that Naruto was out there finishing what he'd started because the pleasure had been too much for him to ignore. Setting himself back into the sleeping bag, he released his own self while keeping a close eye on the chakra outside. His hand found himself and stroked roughly, desperately wishing for it to be the person he was watching so intently. "Yes, Naruto. I did this to you. You yearn for me." He groaned softly knowing that they were both feeling good at this moment and it was all because of him. He saw Naruto's pace quicken and knew he was nearing the end. His own strokes sped up as he prepared to match Naruto's end or at least finish first so he could clean up before Naruto could come back inside. The Sharingan maintained its line of sight on the coveted chakra and the two boys piped themselves, both imagining their deepest desires becoming reality and to Sasuke's grievance he saw the shape of Naruto's back arch slightly back and the motions of his arm come to an end. Within seconds, He dropped down to the ground and it seemed he was making his way back to the cave.

Angrily, Sasuke put himself away and shifted in his sleeping bag. He deactivated his Sharingan and wished for sleep more than ever now. Meanwhile, feeling spent and pleased at finally releasing himself, Naruto lazily walked into the cave and after stumbling around searching for his sleeping bag in the dark, lay himself to sleep peacefully, completely unaware of the fury building up in his companion.

.

Several hours later, the cave was more visible as rays of the early sun began to sneak in. Sasuke attempted to stretch as he lay but realized he was unable to move his right arm as, somehow, his companion had closed the gap between their sleeping bags and put the weight of his head and chest on Sasuke's right shoulder and arm. He stiffened as he realized Naruto had done this all on his own and made no effort to move, thoroughly enjoying the closeness between their two bodies. His eyes shut and though he knew they should be preparing to continue onward, he felt he could delay things if only for a few moments so he could enjoy this feeling of tranquility that Naruto was bringing him. As Naruto breathed peacefully in an out, Sasuke leaned his head on Naruto's and remained still, "This is what it should be like all the time..."

Sasuke wasn't sure how much time had passed; he knew it couldn't have been more than hour as the sun's rays hadn't changed too much but he felt Naruto begin to stir. He knew how Naruto would react if he found him awake in this position. He shut his eyes and activated his Sharingan to be able to see through his lids. Soon enough, Naruto groaned and it seemed he'd awoken but he simply shuffled closer and wrapped his arm around Sasuke's waist. He nuzzled into the shoulder beneath him and, like a startled deer, opened his eyes wide in surprise at finding himself cuddling his friend. As he was about to yell at Sasuke for being too close, he noticed the other ninja was still asleep. He quickly got up and began to pack his things up.

"Man, what's wrong with me? First I have these crazy dreams and now I'm cuddling my best friend in my sleep. Thank goodness he's still asleep..." He shook his friend in an attempt to awaken him. "Hey, Sasuke, get up, it's daylight out."

Inwardly, Sasuke reveled in the lack of shouts from Naruto which he had honestly expected once he'd discovered how close they were. He feigned just waking up and proceeded to pack up his things as well. "What's that face for?" He knew perfectly well why Naruto looked skittish but he just couldn't keep from pestering the boy.

Naruto flashed his best smile and rubbed the back of his head aimlessly, "Haha, nothing! Just a weird dream. What are we going to eat? I'm starving!" He finished packing up his sleeping necessities and looked expectantly at his companion for a response.

Sasuke smirked knowingly and suppressed the urge to continue taunting him. He picked up his things and motioned towards the cave entrance. "We'll see if there's a local place to eat once we get closer to a town." "Then I can begin searching."

"Alright! I can't wait to eat. I wonder what kind of stuff they have here. Do you think the food is good? I hope the first town isn't too far, I don't wanna walk too much on an empty stomach..." Sasuke drowned out his companion's chatter and simply enjoyed the sound of his company. Yes, he was loud and obnoxious, but this was the path he'd chosen and it certainly did feel good to be here.
