LOST IN TIME PART 2

As River showed Amy and Julia Rory's letter telling River where to find him and Selene, Julia groaned as she said, "Selene gets to meet Jules Verne and the real Captain Nemo?! Why? Why is the universe so cruel? I wanted to meet them. Why couldn't it be me who got to meet them? When I see her again, I'm going to kill her!"

"Stop whining, Julia. I'm more worried about ever seeing Rory and Selene again. I don't care about Jules Verne right now. I've already met him anyway," Amy said as she rolled her eyes at her.

"I know. Everyone has but me apparently!" Julia complained.

"Who is this Jules Verne that the child keeps going on about?" Queen Elizabeth asked.

"Just a writer. No one important, your highness," River said trying to brush the question off.

"Just a writer? Just a writer?! More like one of the greatest of all time!" Julia shouted.

"Can someone say obsessed? I have a very strange little sister it seems. Most girls her age in her time period are obsessed with sparkly vampires or bow and arrow carrying girls from a nightmarish future. She's into Jules Verne. Go figure," River said with a sigh.

"You can't beat the classics in my opinion. My other mum always said that I was an old soul for loving things from the past so much," Julia said.

"You don't happen to have a fob watch on you, do you?" River asked.

"No. At least I hope not. No offense but I like myself the way that I am,' Julia said.

"So do I. You're perfect just as you are. Don't you go changing on me, missy!" Amy said as she kissed her forehead and made her smile.

"This Jules Verne sounds like a Frenchman. Perhaps I could persuade him to leave his own country and come to England. I could become his patron as I am to my darling Will. It would be a major coup for my reign to have such an obviously great writer come here," Elizabeth said in an excited voice.

"That simply wouldn't be possible, your highness. Jules Verne is a resident of my country of Freedonia, and that country is currently being ruled over with an iron fist by the evil Queen Rose of Tyler. She would never let any of her subjects leave without her permission. I only managed to escape by sneaking out while posing as a nun who was visiting from another land. She controls the inhabitants of that country completely especially the King of Freedonia, King Fezman of Moronica. She has him fooled completely into thinking that she's some kind of saint. Of course, it's pretty easy to fool him. The man's an idiot. She stole him from his rightful wife, Princess Harmony Waters. Luckily for her though, she met Fezman's even better brother, Lord Pinstripe of Allons-y. So Queen Rose's evil plan blew up in her face after all. She's a very despicable character I assure you," River said with a malicious grin on her face.

"I will clap her in irons if she ever sets foot here. I will make sure to put her on my enemies list just under the Doctor," Elizabeth said.

"Good," River said evilly.

Amy glared at her, and River replied to her mentally by saying, What?

Oh, nothing. You're just making fun of one of my best friends that's all. Amy replied with a mental sigh.

I'm just having a bit of fun. I don't mean anything by it. River answered happily.

Don't hate Rose just because of what happened with Reinette. That's just ridiculous. Amy answered.

River scowled but said nothing further. Amy knew that this subject wasn't going away any time soon. She decided to drop it for now though. They had bigger things to worry about.

They found that out right from the start. As soon as their coach reached the Queen's castle, they found an exact duplicate of Elizabeth standing in the courtyard waiting for them. The Queen screamed at the sight of her and said, "See? She's real."

Amy pulled out her sonic screwdriver and scanned the doppleganger right away. She was shocked when she discovered that it was a clone of the real Elizabeth, a clone with Cyber technology inside of it! The Cybermen were attempting to replace Elizabeth with some kind of puppet of her controlled by them.

"She's here to kill me! Stop her!" Queen Elizabeth shouted.

"No, stop her. She's the imposter. She's trying to replace me and take my throne away from me. Take her and those with her to the Tower immediately for treason," the clone Elizabeth said.

"I am the real Elizabeth! I am your Queen!" Elizabeth insisted.

Several guards stood in indecision not knowing what to do. Both Queens looked completely identical.

"Well, there's one way of knowing for sure who the real Queen is. Watch," Amy said as she used her sonic screwdriver to start destroying the Cybermites infecting the clone Elizabeth's bloodstream.

The clone started to scream in pain as she said, "Cliodna is here. Our plan is in danger. Awaiting further orders."

Then the clone stiffened as she said, "Understood. I will undergo full conversion."

"What's happening?" Elizabeth asked in confusion.

"Your double is about to be converted into a full Cyberman if I can't destroy the Cybermites inside of her quick enough," Amy said in alarm.

"What does that mean?" Elizabeth asked.

"It means that soon you won't have to worry about anyone confusing you for her anymore because she won't look like you, and there won't be anyone human left to care. She's being turned into a creature from another world. She's been sent here to convert this entire planet into creatures just like her. Oh, and she'll create a major paradox and wipe out the entire future of the human race along the way but no biggie," Amy said.

The clone began to scream, and everyone looked on in horror as they saw her body rapidly changing and converting to one of metal. Amy knew that they didn't have much time now. This was one of the new kind of Cybermen that the Doctor had told her that he and Clara had come across recently. The kind that were harder than ever to destroy. She had to stop it now before it was completed or she might never be able to contain it and keep it from converting the local population.

Meanwhile back in the 1860s, Rory and Selene had problems of their own on the Nautilus as the submarine started to shake all over. Obviously it had hit something. Something hard.

"Oh, great. Nemo is using the Nautilus to destroy ships just like he did in your book, isn't he?" Selene said disapprovingly to Jules Verne.

"Actually, no. This Nemo is nothing like mine. I just created the whole declaring war on the world idea in order to create a plot for my book. The real Nemo is a genius who decided to go into seclusion and live by himself after creating the Nautilus well ahead of its time. He's more of a hermit than a villain. He just wants to live on the open seas where he can be alone and free. I knew that he'd be the perfect character for a book when I met him as he came ashore for supplies a few years ago. He swore me to secrecy about himself but said that I could present his story as one of my 'lurid fantasies' as he put it," Verne explained.

"Well, it looks like Hermits United here just got discovered by someone. I'm going to find out who," Selene said.

"Wait, my friend. Nemo doesn't like anyone knowing too much about his technology. He's very secretive. He won't let you just roam around the ship by yourself," Verne warned.

"You're wasting your breath. She's too stubborn to listen to anyone when she thinks she's right. She's just like her sister," Rory said with a sigh as he missed Amy even more in that moment.

"I know. I still liked them both very much though. They were good friends," Verne said.

We still are. I hope. Amy's voice said in Rory's mind.

Amy! Where are you? Are you here? Rory replied back.

No, I'm a little busy trying to stop an invasion of Cybermen in Elizabethan England. That's where I wound up. River's here too so I have a way back to you if I can kill this stupid Cyberman clone in time. Amy answered.

Cyberman clone? Rory asked.

It's a long story. River received your letter telling us where you are. It helped me track you down in the timestream so that I could use our link to at least have some contact with you. I can hear and see through your eyes and ears now, and now I know everything that's going on. I assume Selene is confronting Nemo about something or other and about to get into huge trouble as usual? Amy asked in amusement.

You know me so well. Selene replied as she broke into the link.

What are you up to now? Amy asked.

Oh, you know. The usual. The Nautilus just hit something, and I'm demanding to know what that was from Nemo. He's not being very cooperative and is refusing to talk though. So now I'm about to get all up in his face. The usual. Selene answered.

Rory, I think you'd better get up there and stop her before she gets you all put in the brig or worse. Amy replied with a sigh.

I agree. I'm already trying to find her. Rory said as he searched the ship for her.

Oh, ye of little faith. Selene broke in with a laugh.

Can you blame me? Amy asked.

Rory finally found Selene on what he assumed was the bridge. He was completely astonished to find Selene kissing Nemo.

"What the?!" Rory asked out loud.

"Oh, hey! Everything's completely cool now. It turns out that Nemo's an old . . . friend of mine from back at the Academy. I thought I recognized him, but that was so long ago that I wasn't sure until now. I completely slipped my mind until now that Nemo is what he called himself when he graduated. He always did like being all enigmatic. He's on Earth visiting, and he's all reclusive because he doesn't want anyone to know that he's not human and that the Nautilus is actually his TARDIS. Don't worry, Rory. He's a great guy. He's a good kisser too. Aren't you?" Selene said as she kissed Nemo again.

"What was all of that about demanding to know who we were then if he knew you?" Rory asked.

"I didn't recognize her. She's different now in some ways," Nemo said.

"Oh, well I was human for a while. That changes a gal," Selene said.

"What did we hit?" Rory asked.

"What?" Nemo said in a distracted voice as he stared at Selene who smiled at him.

She's flirting with him during a crisis. That is so her! Amy replied in Rory's mind with a sigh.

Shut up! He's cute! Selene protested as she broke in again.

"What hit us?" Rory asked again.

"Oh, right. It looks like we hit another ship. It didn't damage our ship though. I was going to surface and check the other ship out to make sure that they were okay when Selene came in. It's so nice to see her again," Nemo said.

"It's nice to see you too. So I assume you're still unattached?" Selene asked.

"Yeah, how about you?" Nemo asked.

"Totally," Selene said.

"She's what? I can't believe this! Only Selene would flirt with Nemo and totally ignore Jules Verne. I so wish I was there so I could slap her!" Rory suddenly heard Julia's voice say in his head.

He could suddenly see and hear through Amy's eyes and ears too he realized. He was glad. It made him relieved that he could see that Julia was okay. At least she was okay for the moment anyway because he could also see the rapidly changing Cyberman created clone too.

The Nautilus suddenly shook again and even the lovestruck Nemo knew that he had to do something about this. He surfaced the Nautilus, and they all saw through its windows that the other ship was a spaceship that was moving through the water! Apparently, it had been deliberately trying to hit them Rory could now see because they saw from first glance that it was piloted by Cybermen!

"Cybermen are traveling on the water now? You'd think that they'd be worried about getting short circuited," Selene joked.

Then they realized as the Cybermen started pouring out of the ship that they weren't all human. Some of them weren't fully converted yet, and they were obviously not human. They were Sea Devils.

"The Cybermen have branched out. Now they're converting under the sea too. They're converting Sea Devils to attack humanity with," Rory realized.

They're in the 1500s and the 1860s? They must be trying to completely alter the timestream. What are they up to? Amy wondered in Rory's mind even as she could see that her own Cyberman was almost finished changing.

She decided to give up on trying to stop the transformation and focused on destroying the Cyberman instead. She quickly found that her sonic didn't work on this new version though.

"Oh, wonderful! They've upgraded so that the sonic doesn't affect them anymore," Amy said as the Cyberman started advancing towards her even as it started to finish its transformation.

Meanwhile back in the 1940s, the Doctor and Clara confronted Rosanna and her army of fish vampires as Sirona and Brian quickly came out of Amy's TARDIS to join them and warn them about what was going on. Rosanna smiled as she eagerly awaited the chance to trap the Doctor back in time now as well.

"Doctor, she's got an osmic projector. She's already used it on Mum, and now she wants to use it on you to trap you like she has her," Sirona warned.

"An osmic projector?" Clara asked in confusion.

"It sends you back in time and can strand you there unless you have someone on the other side to bring you back. You're not going to have any such luck against me, Rosanna. I know all about what you're up to, and I brought some extra protection along just in case you try to use that thing on me," the Doctor said confidently.

"How could you know?" Rosanna asked in disbelief.

The Doctor held out an old letter in Amy's handwriting with a smile on his face as he said,

"Apparently Amy was quite busy back in the past. She told me the whole story in order to warn me."

"And yet you still came? That only shows just how stupid that you really are, Doctor," Rosanna said.

"Oh, I'm not stupid at all. Like I said, I brought along protection," the Doctor said as he looked toward the doorway of his TARDIS.

Rosanna and the Saturnynians all began to cower in terror as Rose Tyler stepped out of the TARDIS. Rose was surprised and silently wondered what was going on. She had never met these people before as far as she knew.

"Fenris!" Rosanna hissed in fear.

"Great. Not talk about Fenris again," Rose replied.

"Doctor, do you really think that the three of you are going to be enough to face a whole army of these things?" Brian asked.

"Oh, yes, Brian. You see they may have an army, but I have Rose. She's better than any army," the Doctor said proudly.

"I'm sorry but I haven't met either of the women with you before," Brian said.

"Oh, well this is Clara, she's my best friend, and this is Rose, she's my wife," the Doctor said happily.

"You're his wife?" Brian asked in surprise.

"What does everyone always react like that when they meet Rose?" the Doctor asked confused as Rose and Clara both laughed.

"I didn't mean anything by it. I'm just surprised that's all," Brian said.

"I think I've been insulted," the Doctor said.

"Excuse me but I'm trying to kill you here. I don't care if your wife is way out of your league or not. None of that is going to matter once I kill you all," Rosanna said annoyed.

"Okay, now you've been insulted," Rose said laughing.

"Doctor, this is serious. We have to find my Mum and the rest of my family. They're all scattered in time," Sirona said.

"I know. I also got a letter from Rory. The Ponds have such excellent handwriting. Don't you think so, Rose?" the Doctor said as he had held up another letter.

"You're never going to be able to rescue any of them, Doctor. It's all over for you now. For you see, I was just a distraction to keep you and the others busy while your real foe struck. Even now, they should be getting to Winston Churchill and converting him into one of them," Rosanna said with an evil smile.

"Yeah, Amy told me about the Cybermen too. Even now, they should be meeting up with someone else that I brought along to help me," the Doctor said.

There were several loud explosions in the background, and the Doctor smiled. Good old Ace.

As the Cybermen started to scream, Rosanna hissed as she said, "You may have stopped the Cybermen, but you won't stop me. I sent Amy back in time, and now you're next."

Rosanna used the osmic projector on everyone in front of her as she opened it up all of the way at once now. The Doctor immediately pulled out his sonic screwdriver, and the projector started reversing. Instead of being directed towards them, it was now directed at Rosanna and the Saturnynians instead.

"No!" Rosanna screamed as she and her people all vanished in an instant.

They were all being banished to who knew where in time and space and would be trapped there with no way to get back now. The osmic projector, with no one left to hold it, then fell to the ground and broke into several pieces.

"No! We'll never know where my family are now," Sirona said.

"I already told you I have these letters telling me where they are. Keep up," the Doctor said.

"We would have known for sure with the projector though. Those letters aren't precise enough to give us the exact coordinates I'm sure," Sirona protested.

"Maybe not but they're close enough. Besides, I brought Rose. She can fix it. She can fix anything," the Doctor said.

Before Rose could even look at the projector though, the Cybermen appeared and began to surround the soldiers and everyone else in the room.

"The girl named Ace is only keeping part of us busy. There are still plenty of us left to upgrade all of you. Then we will upgrade the Prime Minister and the rest of this time zone," the Cyberleader said.

Now they're in the 1940s too? Amy said in Sirona's mind.

Apparently. Are you alright, Mum? Sirona asked.

For the moment. I've got some Cyber troubles of my own though so that might change soon. Apparently the Cybermen are trying to take over every time zone at once. It's like they've started up their own version of the Time War. Amy answered.

It's starting to seem like it. The fish vampires are gone anyway but so is the projector. It's been destroyed. Sirona replied in alarm.

Don't worry. River's here. She can bring us back if we survive. You concentrate on surviving there, Sirona, and don't worry about me. I have a feeling that this is going to get worse before it gets better. It seems that the Cybermen are trying to convert the Earth in every time zone. Amy warned.

Not just the Earth, Amy Pond, but every planet everywhere. Soon we will upgrade all of time and space. We will become the new Lords of Time. A voice suddenly said in Amy, Rory, and Sirona's minds all at once.

Who is this? Rory asked from the 1860s.

Oh, we've never met, but the Doctor and Clara know me. I'm the leader of this little 'Time War', did you call it? Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Mr. Clever, and I'm the one who's finally going to destroy you, Cliodna. This is your payback for the destruction of Telos. You and your family are going to be spread through time and space and lost forever to my Cyber legions. We will convert you. Each and every one of you. You though we'll save for last. I'm really going to enjoy converting you. Maybe I'll make you into my Cyber Queen if you play your cards right. We can wear fezzes and eat fish fingers in custard together for the rest of eternity. You'll love it. You'll see. Mr. Clever said happily.

Don't count on it. I don't care how much you've upgraded. I'll always find a way to stop you. I'll survive and rescue the rest of my family. Then I'm coming for you, Clever, wherever you are. There won't be anywhere in time and space where you can hide from me. Do you understand that? Amy answered.

Do you know what I say to that terrifying little threat of yours? Mr. Clever replied.

What? Amy asked in a furious voice.

Come along, Pond. I'll be waiting. Mr. Clever replied with a sinister laugh.

Next: The Cybermen strike in all three time zones, and Mr. Clever finally faces off against Amy in person. Wait till you see who he's possessing this time.
