THE FOUR AMYS PART 1

Julia was fast asleep in the Captain's Chair of the Console Room after having stayed up all night being unable to sleep. She always came to the Console Room to sleep when she had insomnia. Something about the hum of the TARDIS and the flickering lights on the console always helped her to relax there. She always felt safe and at peace there. She often wondered if it wasn't the consciousness of the TARDIS herself comforting her so that she could rest.

She was convinced that her mother's TARDIS liked her and watched over her sometimes. She knew that it was probably just her imagination, but it still comforted her sometimes when she was troubled. Like now. She had been traumatized by Amy becoming human and forgetting her and still hadn't gotten over it yet.

What happened to her next wasn't likely to help her any either.

"Where am I and who are you?" Julia heard Amy say.

This woke her up out of a sound sleep, and she looked at the vacant look in her mother's eyes with absolute terror. She began to shake all over as she realized that it was happening again! She had forgotten her.

"Please say that you haven't forgotten me again. Please!" Julia said shaking in fear.

"Hey, are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you. Are you alright?" Amy asked her with concern.

"You've lost your memory and forgotten me. Again! I can't believe that this is happening," Julia said as she started crying.

"I haven't forgotten anything. I know exactly who I am, and I haven't forgotten you because I've never met you before," Amy protested.

This just made Julia start crying even harder, and Amy took her in her arms and started to comfort her as she said, "I wasn't trying to upset you. Are you okay, little girl?"

"No, she's not. She thinks you're me and that I've forgotten her again," another Amy said as she eyed the other Amy warily.

Julia whirled around and saw yet another Amy standing there. This was just like before when there had suddenly been two of them.

"Mum?" Julia asked in confusion.

"Yes, sweetie. It's me. Don't worry. I remember you. That will never happen again. I promise," Julia's Amy said.

Julia ran to her and hugged her tightly as she said, "Is this another clone of you then like Aunt Karen?"

"I don't think so. I never had any other clones as far as I can remember. Well, there was that other me on Apalapucia, but she was a lot older than me so it's definitely not her," Julia's Amy said.

"You have a weird life, Mum. I'm glad that you still remember me though. So glad," Julia said as she held onto Amy tightly and began to cry again. This time with tears of joy.

"It's okay, baby. Everything's alright," Julia's Amy said in a soothing voice as she kissed her forehead and gently stroked her hair.

"I'm sorry that I upset her. I'm a little upset too though. Where am I and how did I get here?" the other Amy asked.

"I believe that you're a version of me from another universe. A parallel one I'd guess. You're a Time Lord but still at least partly human so you're a me that was always human and somehow became a Time Lord. Am I right?" Amy asked the parallel Amy.

"How did you know that?" the parallel Amy asked.

"My sonic watch just scanned you and told me what you are," Amy said.

"Sonic watch? You got a sonic watch? Why didn't my Doctor give me a sonic watch?" the parallel Amy complained.

Amy smiled as she finally decided that this Amy was telling the truth and was safe for Julia to be around. She hadn't been sure up until now. Now she had to find out how she had gotten there and find some way to return her there.

"The Doctor didn't give this to me. I invented it myself," Amy said.

"Really? You must be a lot smarter than me then. I made a sonic probe once but that was as far as I got," the parallel Amy said.

"I have an advantage over you, Amy, in that I wasn't born human. I was born a Time Lord, then became human, and then returned to being a Time Lord again," Amy said.

"Huh? In this world I was born a Time Lord?! Explain," the parallel Amy said in complete shock.

Amy did her best to tell her parallel self about her past while Julia noticed that yet another Amy had just appeared in the Console Room. She smiled because this one at least was someone that she knew and trusted.

"Aunt Karen!" Julia said waving at her.

"Julia? Amy? What's going on here? How did I get here? I was just in my personal quarters in the Capitol a second ago. The presidential guards must be going nuts," Karen said in bewilderment.

"I don't have any more idea than you do, Karen, and neither does this other us from a parallel world. She just appeared here out of nowhere too right before you did," Amy said.

"Wait a minute. So someone's kidnapping Amys and bringing them to you? How does that happen?" Karen asked.

"She's not me. She looks nothing like me," the parallel Amy said even more confused.

"She's my clone who regenerated," Amy explained.

"Oookay. Things just got even weirder then," the parallel Amy said.

"Not as weird as they're going to get apparently. Look," Karen said as she pointed to where yet another Amy was appearing out of nowhere.

"What's going on here? Why did you kidnap me for? I don't care what your reasons are. You can just put me back! Do you hear me?! Put me back!" this newest Amy screamed.

"We didn't bring you here. We have no more idea on how you got here than you do. Where are you from by the way?" Amy asked.

"Rose used to call it Pete's World but I just call it home," Pete's World Amy said.

"Oh, I know you. Rose told me about you. I'm her version of Amy. It's nice to meet you," Amy said.

"I'd say the same if I wasn't worried out of my mind. Can you take me back?" Pete's World Amy said.

"Yes, of course, but whatever brought you here in the first place would probably just send you back again. We have to find out what's going on here first," Amy said.

"I guess you're right. It's just that I wanted to go back as soon as I could," Pete's World Amy said.

"Why? Why do you want to go back so fast for?" Amy finally asked.

"Rory was down on one knee about to ask me to marry him. I was just about to say yes. I'm afraid if I don't go back that he'll never have the courage to ask me again. You know Rory," Pete's World Amy said.

"I also know Theta Sigma. Since your Rory is really the Doctor after using the Chameleon Arch and you're really your universe's Arkytior, you have a right to worry about that. My Theta took forever just to tell my Arkytior that he loved her much less pop the question to her. I'll get you back right after you left as soon as I find out what's going on. I promise," Amy said.

"Thanks," Pete's World Amy said as she sighed with relief.

"Her Rory is the Doctor? Huh! I can't see that myself. They're just too different. Of course it is a parallel world but still. That just blows my mind!" the parallel Amy said amazed.

That was when Rory came into the room and said, "Amy, what was all of that yelling about? What are you mad about? Do I not want to be around you right now?"

Then he did a double take as he saw not just one but four Amys standing there. He began sweating as he said, "Amy, am I having that same nightmare again?"

"No, I'm afraid not. There are four of me now," Amy said with a grin.

"Rory?" Pete's World Amy asked as she looked at him hopefully.

"He's my Rory," Amy said.

"Oh. I was hoping that mine was brought here too," Pete's World Amy said looking upset.

"I'll take you back. Don't worry," Amy said.

"Amy, what's going on?" Rory asked as he began to look very, very nervous.

"Your guess is as good as mine, Mr. Pond," Amy said.

"You call yours that too?" parallel Amy said smiling.

"Yeah, what else would I call him? It fits him so well," Amy said giggling.

"Yes, it does. It really does," parallel Amy said.

"Well, at least two of you are laughing. It's good that you're laughing," Rory said in a quivering voice.

"What's wrong with him?" Karen asked.

"Oh, he's afraid that with this many Amys around that he's bound to get slapped. Which would be bad because that's four times the slaps that he would get usually," Selene said from behind Rory.

Rory almost jumped in the air at the sound of her voice because he was so nervous, and Selene laughed as she said, "It's only me, Rory. I'm on your side. Relax."

"I never slap Rory!" all four Amys said in unison in an angry tone. It was a tone that Rory recognized well and that made him hide behind Selene in terror.

"Yeah, sure you don't," Selene said with a smirk.

"What's going on out here?" Sirona asked with a yawn.

She sighed as she saw the four Amys and said, "Not again. How many clones did you have, Mum? No offense, other Mum."

"None taken," Karen said smiling.

Brian picked that moment to join them and rubbed his eyes as he saw all of the Amys standing there. He was convinced that he was dreaming until he saw Rory hiding behind Selene, and then he knew that it was real.

"Amy, why are there four of you here?" Brian asked.

"It's a long story that I still don't quite understand myself yet, Brian," Amy said.

"Hey, you have a Brian too. At least you're not that different from me," parallel Amy said.

"Me either. I have a Brian too. I suddenly feel a little bit better now. Brian could always make me feel better when I was upset about something," Pete's World Amy said.

"Me too," the other Amys said together all at once like some kind of unearthly chorus.

"That is just freaky," Selene said.

"Tell me about it," Rory said still shaking behind her

"Rory, come out from behind her. None of us are going to slap you," Amy said in irritation.

"Don't listen to her, Rory. You remember what happened the last time that she promised something like that," Selene said adding fuel to Rory's fears for the pure joy of watching him sweat.

"Shut up, Selene. None of us will lay one finger on Rory," Amy said annoyed now.

"Go on, Rory. You know she gets angrier the longer that you make her wait. She won't hit you if you go to her right now. I'm sure of it," Sirona said with a confident smile on her face.

Rory slowly walked out from behind Selene and walked hesitantly toward the Amys one small step at a time like he was going to his execution.

"Why did you tell him that for? All of them are going to slaughter him the second he steps out of line," Selene said.

"Better him than me," Sirona said.

"Sirona, I never knew you were so cruel and twisted! I like it," Selene said with an evil grin.

Brian looked at them both in disbelief and Selene said, "Don't worry, Brian. We'd never sacrifice you like that."

Then she grinned evilly as she turned away from his line of sight.

"Sirona, I think you've been hanging around Selene too much. She's making you as twisted as she is," Julia said.

"I know. I'm kind of worried about it too," Sirona said.

"It's not too late, Si. There's still time to come back to the Light Side," Julia said.

"Very funny," Selene said.

"I think so," Julia said.

Amy smiled at her as she could tell that Julia was feeling better now if she was fighting with her sister. She was certainly glad of that.

She looked at the still terrified Rory as he made his way to her and grabbed him impatiently. She pulled him to her side as she said, "Stop fooling around, Rory. I've got to find out what brought the other mes here so that I can send them back."

"That sounds like a good idea to me," Rory said a little too eagerly.

"Oh, shut up, Stupid Face!" all four Amys said together.

"What did I do?" Rory asked cringing.

"You're too happy to get rid of us," Karen said.

"Way too happy. You'd think four of me was a bad thing or something," Amy said glaring at him.

"No, it's a good thing. A very, very good thing," Rory said nervously.

Amy smiled at him as she said, "It's okay, Rory. Calm down. I'm not going to hit you."

"Too bad I can't say the same," Karen said.

"Stop that," Amy said.

"He's just like my Rory," the parallel Amy said fondly.

"Mine too. I miss him already," Pete's World Amy said in tears.

"Can we please get Whiny Pond out of here at least? I'm getting a headache," Selene said.

"You always have a headache," Julia said

"I wonder why," Selene said.

"Oh, shut up," Julia said.

"You shut up," Selene said.

"Who are they?" parallel Amy asked.

"They're two of my children," Amy said smiling.

"Hey! I am not a child and certainly not yours!" Selene said.

"Says you," Amy shot back.

"Amy, Selene! Please! Can we stop fighting and try to find out what's going on here?" Brian pleaded.

"She started it!" All four Amys said together as they all pointed at Selene at the exact same time.

"Gah! Four of them yelling and pointing at me at once! The horror! The horror!" Selene said.

"This is fun," Julia said laughing.

"I'm glad someone thinks it is," Rory said.

"I'm just glad that it's not me," Sirona said chuckling.

"It easily could be if you don't stay out of it," Amy said and made Sirona hide behind Brian.

"Sorry, sweetheart. I'm a little stressed out right now," Amy apologized.

"You don't have to tell me that. I kind of figured it out by myself," Rory said.

"Hey, I'm pretty stressed out too. I'm being attacked by four of them," Selene said.

"At least you don't have to worry about getting slapped . . . four times," Rory said.

"Rory, stop that. No one's going to slap you," Amy said.

"I wouldn't be so sure. He's getting on my nerves," Karen said in a grouchy voice.

"Rory! Oh, my poor Rory!" Pete's World Amy said crying.

"So is she!" Karen shouted.

"Hey, I was just about to be proposed to! How would you feel?!" Pete's World Amy protested.

"I know how I'm feeling right now and that's very, very annoyed," Karen said.

"The two of you are starting to annoy me with your fighting. Cut it out so that I can get back home to my Rory!" the parallel Amy said.

"You shut up!" Karen and Pete's World Amy shouted making Rory hide behind his Amy.

"You make me," parallel Amy said balling her fists up.

"All of you stop it. Right now! You're all upsetting my Rory," Amy said in anger.

"I'm going to get slapped. I just know it," Rory said.

"See? He's a nervous wreck," Amy said as she put her arm around him in a comforting gesture.

"Amys, can you please just set all of your disagreements aside and find out what you're all doing here so that my Amy can send you all home? You need to put your heads together and work on finding a way home instead of fighting with each other," Brian said to the four of them.

All four Amys looked down in shame since they all considered Brian like a second father to them so this was just like being reprimanded by their Dad. Then they all looked at one another and nodded. They smiled and an unspoken agreement to cooperate was struck up between them.

"Brian, how did you do that and can you teach me your secret?" Selene asked in shock.

"I'd like to know too. I've never seen anyone make Mum back down like that," Sirona said amazed.

"Does this mean that everything's okay now?" Rory asked.

"Yeah, Stupid Face, you're safe," Amy said as she chuckled and kissed him.

"Aw! I was hoping that one or more of you would slap Selene before it was over with," Julia said in disappointment.

"Ixnay, Jules. Ixnay," Selene said as she looked at the four Amys warily.

"Better her than me," Rory said.

"Traitor," Selene hissed.

"It's too bad you three can't stick around. I could certainly use all of you to keep her in line," Amy said laughing.

"I didn't bring them all here for you to use against your sister, Amy," a voice said behind Amy.

Everyone in the room looked to see Oswin Oswald standing there.

"Oswin? What is this all about?" Amy asked in confusion.

"There's a Weeping Angel called Angel Bob out to kill you, Amy. You may have heard of him. He's gone back into the past to wipe you out when you were still a little girl and create a paradox that he can feed off of while getting his revenge on you at the same time. I figured you'd need the other yous here to help save your past self before it's too late. Four Amys are much better than one after all," Oswin said.

"They're certainly more terrifying," Rory said.

"Hear, hear!" Selene said in agreement.

Oswin told them the date that Angel Bob had gone back to and all of them but Pete's World Amy gasped in shock. It was the day before all of them except for Pete's World Amy had met the Doctor.

Apparently Bob was trying to stop that from happening and change not only her timeline but the Doctor's as well.

"Come on, Amys. Let's go save past me," Amy said.

As she entered the coordinates into the TARDIS and headed back to the past, Amy heard Oswin say under her breath, "I have to be careful. I can't let this be another Manhattan."

Amy shuddered as she remembered the story that Rose had told her about what would have happened to her and Rory there at the hands of the Angels. She was terrified that this was history trying to right itself, and she was not going to let that happen.

Nothing was taking her family from her now that she had them all back. Nothing and no one.

Parallel Amy shuddered too as she had also heard what Oswin said, and she vowed not to have this Amy's life ruined by the Angels like hers had almost been. Not this time. This time for this Amy it's going to be different she promised herself.

Next: It's four Amys, Oswin Oswald, and Amy's crew versus Angel Bob as they try to keep him from killing young Amelia Pond and rewriting history. Can they still succeed in stopping him when Bob calls in some unexpected help of his own as back-up?
