Hello everyone! I'm back! *everyone throws rotten tomatoes at the author* I'M SORRY, OKAY?! I had finals and with studying so I fell way behind on schedule. I mean, even writers have social lives, right? No? Never mind then. We're back on track, anyway. Also, I'm planning on publishing the other stories I'm working on sometime around the twentieth of June, so I can stockpile some chapters in case I miss a few dates. But still, summer break, I'll have loads of time and be able to upload quite a lot.

YoutubeDude - I'm sorry man, we're back though, no worries!

British Chap - Don't get smart with me like that. Seriously.

SpirahKoi - Thanks for the description. I'll start you story (Wilson + Whisper) right away.

Also, thanks for the dudes over at the DS Wiki community who listened to my plea and gave me some tips on the story (except one guy who thought William was William Carter and not an OC [William Carter = Maxwell's Previous, more humanly form]) and stuff. That's it for now, enjoy the story!

I looked over to the blazing fire in the sky as the day suddenly broke. I guess that was another problem with this place, the day went from day to evening to night, no time in between. Like, you're about to eat dinner and BOOM, the sun starts to set and everything gets a whole lot darker. It makes preparing for the night much more harder than it should be.

Anyway, I shook the others up so we could discuss our plan for the day. I thought that we were going to start with those crock pots and drying racks, but Wilson had another idea.

"Come over her for a sec guys, this is very important." He said after breakfast.

"It better not be about quantum physics this time Wilson, you almost bore me to death yesterday," Wendy said, shuddering at the thought. She had summoned Abigail again from the time the tallbirds killed it. I was relieved because that was one more weapon we had at our disposal (not that she'd let us just make Abigail charge giant spiders. And besides, the specter would only listen to Wendy and play some pranks on the rest of us.)

"Hmph! Young fellas like you should be preparing to learn about those things if you want to excel in science!" Wilson yelled almost sighing.

"Wilson. I'm not going to be majoring in science. And besides, nothing like that will be important if we're stuck here for all eternity and all that," Wendy said.

"Ah. Well, this isn't about quantum physics anyway. I developed a thermostat that uses liquid gold instead of mercury to test the weather conditions a few days ago, and it is getting warmer each day. I fear that it suggests that there will be a summer coming very soon, but that's not what I'm really afraid of. Anyone know what I am?" Wilson asked.

"Winter. You're talking about winter," Willow said. "I don't see how it would be that bad. I mean, warm, toasty fires and all that."

"My dear..." he managed before he got cut off.

"Don't call me my dear. It makes me feel like a little kid," Willow said exasperatedly.

"Fine then," Wilson said, shrugging. "The point is that we aren't even close to being properly prepared. So unless you want to starve or freeze to death because me can't leave the fire without doing so, I suggest we explore some more of this world for materials we can use to survive the freezing wastes."

I took this all in silence. We were barely making it around here, what with all the monsters that occasionally attacked us. If there were more that came in the winter, on top of not being prepared, we would be dead in a week.

"Okay then, so we're screwed," I said.

"Aw, come on Willy! Think positive," Wendy said.

"Okay then, I'm positively sure that we are screwed," I replied.

"You're impossible, you know that?"

"I have been knowing for a while."

She rolled her eyes and went to chop some more trees. Before Abigail went to follow her, she floated through me, making me feel like I just had a cold shower. Abigail stuck her tongue out at me and glided away.

"Well, should we divide up again? Two people stay here and make some more stuffs while three go out to grab some materials and explore?" Wylie suggested.

"Yes, that does sound like a good idea, doesn't it? Any volunteers for going on the trip?" Willow asked.

"Uh, Willow, my dear-" Wilson said before getting cut off again. For a scientist, he sure didn't learn fast.

"You did it again." Willow noted.

"Willow," he continued. "Shouldn't we wait until Wendy gets back?"

"Oh yeah. Well then, I'll go help her. Why don't you guys start up the drying racks?" Wylie said.

"K then, see you in about an hour. I'm gonna go get some more stone from the rocklands. Hopefully today isn't the day those stupid hounds come back or something." I said.

"DON'T SAY STUFF LIKE THAT WILLIAM! EVERY TIME PEOPLE SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT THEY JINX THEMSELVES AN-" Wylie got cut off by the sound of hounds barking and howling from about a mile away and getting closer by the second. "See, that's exactly what I mean. WENDY! GET BACK TO CAMP! THE HOUNDS ARE BACK!"

"I don't think she can hear you, Wylie. Even if she had, she has Abigail, and and her twin can pack quite a punch. It's us that should be worrying. Get out your weapons!" Wilson said. He sighed and prepared to fight.

Wilson, Willow and I put on our log suits and grabbed our spears. Wylie simply drew her dagger (which was actually more of a long knife) and pulled out another one out of the back of her jacket.

"Where do you hide those things?" I said.

"Magical pockets. Very useful, eh?" she replied. "Don't you have some too?"

"But the first time I saw you, you had a pocket stitched into your jacket. Why didn't you just put it in your regular... Never mind."

The hounds were in sight and getting ready to attack. We braced ourselves for impact. Then we waited. Then we charged.

There was more this time, six in total. Two of them ran over to the tree farm, which meant that there were one for each of us. I hate that Maxwell.

I waited until mine came close enough to run my spear into its mouth and out the other end. Somehow, it survived and weakly tried to bite me until I finished it off by cutting its head off. When I turned around to see how the others were doing, I saw that all the four hounds had come after me. And I didn't even notice!

"Watch out!" Wilson cried.

"Yeah, you could have told me earlier. Great time to mention it now, don't you think?" I yelled back. One of the three remaining hounds broke away to challenge the others, but the two hounds not occupied yet (either with an enemy or with death) leaped at me.

I rolled under their jump and cut out. I wasn't fast enough and my spear just sliced off one of the hound's tail, which worked wonders in getting it completely pissed off at me. Then they split up and came at me from both sides. It was too late. I couldn't beat both of them. I'd have to try to kill at least one and pray that Wilson and the others could finish the other one off. I'd have to pray that Wendy was doing alright.

But it was too late.

Thanks for reading guys! Summer Break starts tomorrow for me so regular updates will finally be possible! PEACE!
