Vampy: First of all, I like to apologize for how long this took, but the last time we updated, I was a senior in highschool, my partner in crime was just starting her year in college, and then I entered College, while she is busy working in a popular restaurant. And the rest is history. I been busy adapting and having no time at all with trying to find a job to buy stuff, since damn, college is expensive, while she has been trying to save up money for a new laptop since the one she was given failed on her. I also have had no computer, the laptop I had is glitchy, won't let anyone work and I need to have it fixed. Now though, I got the family laptop with a way to type, so Here we are, presenting the long awaited chapter that we have been so eager to give to you all.
Sophia: Vampy and her friend do not own Yu-Gi-Oh GX or the story or the characters, only their OC's, and their version of the story. Please enjoy.
Night of the Living Duelist!
Tuski hissed as she held her hand, having tried to punch her way out of the book prison they found themselves in, unable to break out though! Its was as if the books themselves were made of the reinforced steel! Hissing more in annoyance, she punched it again, as she hissed out again in pain as she withdrew her hand, holding the reddening piece of flesh as she looked up, Cyber Harpy Lady also trying to get out, but there wasn't enough space for her to fly properly. It was to cramp for her to stretch her wings, and fly fast to the top, the best she could manage just a couple of feet off of the ground.
"Tuski! We can't get out! It's as if someone is working magic!" Cyber soon called out to her owner, looking down in worry as she hoped she didn't punch the wall of books once more, since she will really hurt herself if she continued as she landed. The young woman just glared, rubbing her hand as she glanced to her friend. Judai had been unconscious still, since the moment she had awaken. She still was, as if something had harmed her on the head. So instead of punching the wall once more, if only to appease the frustration she had been having for the last hour and a half, she knelt next to her friend, checking her over. She had checked earlier for any injuries, but was once more to make sure. She had no idea how to properly do so though, and could only go off on what she could see.
"Damn it Judai...why won't you wake up already?" Tuski sighed before looking around. "And I can't talk to Sophia like I have been able to...what the hell is going on!?"
"ACHOO!" Jaden sniffed as he looked up, smiling weakly. "S-sorry!" He held up his hands. "S-so how far are we from the academy?"
"Judging from our position...I saw no...Look! There it is!" Axel called out, as he pointed out the academy walls, smirking. "Lets hussle guys, we don't want to keep Blair waiting for the medicine."
"I agree, lets move!" Jesse smiled as they all ran, closing the distance with ease, having been conserving their energy. Soon they arrived, but only to find the entrance was empty of any and all students. "Now thats odd...I thought someone was keeping watch of the doors."
"Hmmmm...it's weird. Alexis?! Syrus!? Hassleberry!? Is anyone here!?" Jaden called out, before Jim pointed out a lone student, walking towards them, head down, as he stumbled from side to side. He wore an Obelisk blue uniform as well. "Hey um...we have some questions..." Jaden raised a brow when the student didn't bother to responding to him, as he moved closer. "Hey? Where did everyone go?" The student finally looked up, deep violet bags under his eyes, which were dead like a sharks, before a grin soon stretched over his face.
"Duel me..."
"SAY WHAT!?" "Jaden! Look to your right!" Jesse called out, as similar looking students began to surround them, as the joined back into a group, looking worried. "W-what is going on!?"
"I don't know, their acting like Zombies." "Zombies!? Come on Jim! That stuff only happens in the movies!" Jesse looked to the Aussie in disbelief. Zombies? Come on, whats next, the strange acting students were going to bite them and force them join their zombie brethren.
"I agree, they just want to duel...really bad..." Jaden still looked a bit freaked out though, as he watched them move closer. Adrian only glared, having a good idea as to who was behind this, and that they better keep their promise to him.
"Need...to duel..."
"Still don't think their zombies?" Jim glared to Jesse, honestly come on though, who would believe it? Clearly, not Jesse. "I am still not sold on it Jim...But lets not stick around to find out." Okay maybe he was starting to believe it.
"I agree. Lets get going to the nurses office and go help Blair." Adrian voice his approval to the idea, as he noticed Harpie girl appear, glaring at the students. Jim did as well, confused. "What is it?"
"...They are giving off some weird energy...and I don't like it..." She hissed out, face scrunched up in distaste as she prepared herself. "Get ready to run...don't bother dueling them and just run..." She spoke, voice soft as she soar a little higher, getting a bit of the layout. "Huh?" She then perked up when she heard the sound of running.
"Question! How are we suppose to get past these blokes?" Jim voiced out, as she looked around.
"I guess by dueling?" Jaden answered, as he activated his duel disk.
"JADEN NO!" A familiar voice shouted, as they all turned to see Alexis and Hassleberry, running towards them, pushing a cart that had been turned into some form of a battering ram. "DON'T DUEL THEM!"
"HERE COMES THE CAVARLRY!" Hassleberry forced his way through the students, as Alexis told them to follow them, as they forced their way more, as the spirits followed them with ease, as Jaden questioned where they had been. "Explain later! Run now!"
"Why shouldn't I duel them though? I could have taken them!" Jaden whined, as he followed them all. "Trust me Sarg you'll thank us!" "We need to get someplace safe! We will explain then! Now come on!" But then Jaden proceeded to ask more questions, causing Harpie Girl to smack him with her wing and an order to shut up and run! He obeyed then, rubbing his head as pouted.
Soon Alexis stopped before the boys bathroom, as she looked inside. "This seems like a good place to regroup." She walked in, ignoring the boys protest that she shouldn't go in, as the female monster spirit followed her inside.
"Okay Alexis what is going on?" Jesse questioned, a bit uncomfortable with having two females inside the male restroom, even though the others seemed to have gotten over it.
"Yeah? Why is half the school moaning and groaning?" Jim crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well...we don't know the why...just the when." "While you boys were on your mission, it started. At first, it was just a handful of kids acting all strange..." Hassleberry interrupted, as Alexis gave him a look.
"And then that number began to multiply. It's like this, if they find someone thats not like them, then they challenge them to a duel. Thing is, they keep coming and coming. As soon as they are defeated, they get right back up and duel without any rest. And since the bio-bands are still in effect, you eventually drop...and you become one of them..."
"So...basically your saying that they are zombies?" Adrian asked, a Jim gave Jesse an 'I told you so' look. "Like School Ghouls? Is there a way to beat them?" Jaden questioned.
"There has to be, maybe if we find the source of why they are acting so weird, then we can stop them." Jesse was sure, no one seeming to notice the knowing look Adrian had on his face as he glanced to the doors. 'It has to be them, they do anything to get back at Jaden...why though I don't know.' Adrian eyes narrowed, as he wondered.
"Anyway...until we figure out a way to stop them, the gym and Shepards office are the safest places for us." Alexis sighed, as Winged Kuriboh, who had taken duty of watching the door, floated a bit more out, watching when he saw a student begin to duel. "Most of the students who aren't infected are there, and they are boarded up tight."
"So Syrus is there?" "Well...we got separated. We aren't sure what happened to the little guy. Its like he went AWOL." Hassleberry had a guilty look on his face as he sighed. "But I am sure he is fine, you know him. He is probably hiding in a locker somewhere." Alexis tried to assure her friends on the small boys safety, as Jaden nodded in agreement, convinced at this point that Syrus was safe and hidden away in a locker.
"He is. Now then, we need to get this medicine to Blair. The girls must be worried about her. So we need to find a way to the nurses office pronto." Jesse smiled, trying to perk them all up, while Alexis and Hassleberry looked worried to each other.
"Right, so Ready Jesse?" Jaden grinned, focused on the task at hand. "Its time we make our way to Mrs. Fontaine office."
"You got it! Now lets do this partner." Jesse nodded as the two turned. Axel, who had been silent this entire time, had now chosen this was the appropriate moment to finally speak.
"Hold up, you guys would be total fools to charge in out there without a good plan." Axel glared, arms crossed over his chest, as he stared down at them, blocking their way out the door with his body. Seems like no one was getting out on his watch.
"Fine then. If you got one then why don't you start talking Axel?" Jaden sighed, looking at the taller male before jumping when he heard a scream, cause them all to run out. "Oh no...they got another one." Alexis groaned, as a student got up and looked to them, this one wearing a Ra Yellow uniform.
"Duel me..."
"Damn it..." Jim cursed, as he watched, preparing himself, before they all heard a terribly familiar voice.
"Jaaaden...Jaaaden duel me..." The voice called out, as the school ghouls moved to the side, revealing, who else, Chazz, as his zombified Ojama's appeared by his side, truly the most terrifying thing they had seen all day. Apparently to one person, cause the next thing they heard was a feminine yell, forcing them to turn and see Chelsea, the poor girl staring at Chazz in shock. "NO WONDER WE COULDN'T GET TO THE FOOD!"
"Chelsea calm down and run!" Alexis ordered, as zombie Chazz laughed.
"Duel me..." "Yes Jaden...Duel him...or you'll have to duel all of us..." Ojama yellow spoke, looking more like a monster, along with his brothers, as they did that creepy dance of theirs.
"Not you guys too! Its like a zombie triple feature." Jaden complained, as Winged Kuriboh joined in, but no one could understand a word he said. Chelsea, still shocked at what had happened to Chazz, was shaking, still as could be. Chazz took no notice of her, as he smirked.
"Jaaden...Chazz want duel. Must pay back for all the pain you caused...join us now Jaden...while you still have a choice."
"Chazz! Your a school ghoul!?" Adrian was still taking a moment to process all this, or so he was letting them think.
"Enough standing around! Time someone did something!" Hassleberry shouted, as he ran over to the cart/battering ram and pushed it forward, ignoring everyone questioning him as he ran towards the ghouls. "Out of my way you bunch of sleepwalkers! Unless you want to ride on the Hassleberry express!" Sadly, however, his efforts were put in vain, as Chazz easily climbed onto the cart, smirking down at him.
Axel, who at sometime then walked down the hall, as he shouted, gaining all of their attention. "Guys! This way! It's clear!" That only had them all eager to get away, as Hassleberry jerked the cart, causing Chazz to fall over, as he ran off after them, as Chelsea sprinted away, looking over her shoulder. "COME ON!"
"Good job Axel!" "Its like De javu!" "I might have made them angry!" "You think!" Chelsea snapped, as she tried to resist smacking the sergeant wanna be as she followed them all, Axel closing the door behind them. They were all unaware of the eyes watching them as they ran through the door, to in a panic. The door then quickly shut. The figure watching then stepped out, standing before the ghouls, as they activated a Duel disk they borrowed.
"I shall take you on instead boys." The figure, female from the voice, spoke, as she placed a deck into the machine, as she stared at them. Chazz took her up, as he activated his own.
"So uh...not quite what I had in mind..." "Really! I hadn't noticed!" Chelsea glared at Hassleberry, as she still resisted the urge to smack him, hand tightly enclosed in fist. The male only jumped at the sharp tone in her voice.
"Both of you! Cool it! Now, are we stuck here?" Alexis was worried, before jumping when she heard a familiar whimper, all of them turning their heads to see a familiar head of light blue hair.
"W-w-where have y-you guys been?" Syrus whimpered, locked into the fetal position as he shook, back to them all.
"Syrus! Your okay! We knew you would be!" "Syrus!" "Hey Sy!" "Good to see yah!" They all voiced out their joy to seeing their small friend, safe from all harm. However he seemed distressed, as he sniffed. "Go away guys! I don't want you to see me like this!"
"See you like what little buddy?" Jesse spoke up, as he walked over. "We have all seen you cry before." Jaden chuckled at his friends antics, as he smiled, not seeing anything wrong, as they all walked over to him.
"I got scared, and hid in my favorite locker...but...," Syrus voice then took a turn for the worse, "...I am glad your here...very glad." He stood with ease, as he turned, revealing the truth! He was one of the ghouls! "...Get your game on Jaden..."
"SYRUS! N-not you too!" Chelsea eyes widen, as she heard the rattling of the lockers, which opened to reveal more duel ghouls. At some point, three came out singing, and Jim was quick to point out how off key they were, really not impressed with their act. "At least the door is secured..." Jim spoke, as the ghouls in the room with them began to surround them.
"So uh...any ideas?" Jesse asked, as Adrian and Axel shook their heads. "We might have to duel our way out of this!" Hassleberry was highly aganist the plan, but it also may be the only way they all save themselves.
Just as Jaden activated his duel disk, the door opened, as a lone figure walked in, placing their hands on their hips as they observed the situation before them. "Honestly...how did you all find yourself in this little predicament?"
It was a lovely looking female, with long ash black hair that was pulled back into a high ponytail held back with a dark red ribbon, the strands though ending near her the top of her thighs, full pert breast pushing against a thin white cloth dress that tightened around her chest and the top of her arms, ending at her knees. She was barefoot, but what caught their attention the most was her eyes, they were silver, so much that her pupil was almost none existent. She had a standard academy duel disk on her arm though. They also noticed...that she looked like Tuski, Jaden noting the fact that a cut in the dress revealed a similar looking tattoo they both shared on the left hip, a black crescent moon with a star in the center. She carried herself well, full of confidence and not a ounce of doubt. Kinda like a princess in a way, but she looked nothing like one.
"W-who are...?" "Thats no concern at the moment. I will handle them. You all escape." She took a step forward, activating the duel disk, as she gave the ghouls a blank look.
"Duel!? It's not safe!" "No, unlike you all, I am fine, I am not wearing those bio-bands, so I shall be safe from the side effects." She spoke, as she drew her hand. "Now get out of here. All you have is a wall, monsters that come to life, and a deck full of them. Get going." She ordered, as she begun a duel.
"Don't have to tell me twice!" Jesse shouted, as Jaden pulled out his best card, Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, and summoned him, breaking the wall with ease and allowing them all to escape. Jim took a moment to look back at the female, noting how similar she looked to Tuski, before following close behind his friends.
And they ran, fast and quick, out of danger until they were sure they were safe and to tired to run some more. Hassleberry fell to the ground, panting. "Chazz and Syrus, how could we just leave them." He then voiced his guilt, as Jesse assured him that they get them back.
"More importanly, who was that girl? And why did she have a duel disk but no Bio-Band?" Adrian spoke, as Axel nodded in agreement. Jaden was lost in thought though, as he removed the backpack he was holding, sighing.
"Something wrong Jay?" Jesse looked worried to his friend. Jaden only tossed his bag to Hassleberry. "Listen guys! You all need to get to the gym!" Everyone's head turned to look at Jaden. Jesse was the only one to speak. "And you?"
"Where do you plan on going mate?" Jim stepped up, worried about his friend.
"I am heading to the nurses office, by myself. We still need to get Blair and Mrs. Fontaine this medicine, and running from these Ghouls and detoured us majorly."
"Wait for a second. They both are on the other side of the building! You never make it! There's too many of those ghouls between here and there." Axel was not going to let Jaden run off on his own.
"He's right! And how do you we even know that they aren't already one of them?" Chelsea finally spoke, as she stepped forward.
"They might or might not...That's just a risk I am going to have to take. They are all alone. And as good as Tuski and Judai are at dueling, they both have Bio-bands as well, so they are going to need the help!" Jaden spoke, looking to the first aid kit, worried for his sister, before he heard his PDA break into static, as he pulled it out. A woman's voice then rang out.
"Help! Is someone out there!"
"Mrs. Fontaine! Hey can you hear me!?"
"Jaden?! Oh thank goodness! We are okay, but people keep banging on the door! Please hurry! I can't hold it back much longer!"
"Then switch places with Tuski and Judai and hold up for just a little longer!"
"T-they aren't here! They went for food and never came back! Hurry please!" Mrs. Fontaine voice then was covered by the static, unable to reach them anymore.
"What!? They never came!" Alexis eyes widen. "They are gone!?"
"Mrs. Fontaine! What do you mean they never came back!? How Blair!? We have the medicine! We are coming to rescue you! Come in! Answer me! Mrs. Fontaine!" Jaden repeated the questions once more, before soon finding that he wasn't going to get an answer.
"J—den...I...D-n't kn- how m—h lo-er we w—l last." Mrs. Fontaine voice rang out one last time before the device went dead.
Jim and Jesse's eyes widen, as they looked to Jaden, seeing the fear in his eyes.
Vampy: And here is the long awaited chapter you all had been waiting for! I hope you enjoyed it!
