REVENGE OF THE GANGERS PART 1

Earth, the 22nd Century

Ganger Jackson was monitoring all incoming arrivals to the Earth from his workstation onboard the warship Deimos when he finally detected temporal energy signatures approaching it. He was sure that he had finally detected the arrival of the enemy's ship at last.

"Ma'am! I am detecting the approach of a TARDIS," Ganger Jackson shouted.

"Are you sure that it's the right one this time? There are other Time Lords who calls this planet home now," The General said from where she stood on the ship's bridge.

"Yes, of course, Ma'am. I have confirmed their whereabouts however. Our spies have confirmed that Eris and Andromeda are currently still at home. Before you ask, Ma'am, this TARDIS doesn't match the energy signature of the False Jenny Tyler's either. I am close to one hundred percent certain that this is the TARDIS of Cliodna of Brightshore or as you know her better . . ." Ganger Jackson said.

"Amy Pond," The General said in a hard voice filled with vile and hatred as she interrupted him.

"Yes, Ma'am. I'm sure that it's her this time. Now you can finally gain your vengeance on her. I'm only sorry that it doesn't seem to be both her and the Doctor," Ganger Jackson said.

"I will find him eventually as well. Don't ever doubt that, Jackson. Sooner or later, I will have my revenge on him as well as Amy. They will both pay for their role in stopping our rebellion. They could have set the revolution of the Gangers over our oppressors back centuries if not for the help of our great and noble benefactor," The General said.

"All hail the War Lord!" All of the Gangers on the bridge shouted at once.

"That's right. You should praise her. She rescued us from the abyss of history, my friends, by rescuing me. I would have died for good if not for her. She used her great power to reassemble my body after it was destroyed by the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, and then strengthened it so that I no longer needed to fear being destroyed by anything anymore. Do you know that I still have that screwdriver? The one that destroyed me. I keep it so that I can one day use it to help me destroy the Doctor. I feel it only appropriate that when the time comes that I use this to help me destroy him someday as he tried to use it to destroy me," the Ganger of Jennifer Lucas, who now called herself The General, said as she held the sonic screwdriver up for her soldiers to see.

She had changed her name in honor of the War Lord because she had rescued her. Besides that it was only right to rename herself anyway since she was no longer Jennifer Lucas anymore. Jennifer Lucas was dead. She had been even before the Doctor's Ganger had killed her.

Now she was the General in the war to claim the Earth for her own kind, and she fully relished that role. She would one day cast aside the chains of human oppression and lead her people to freedom, and on that day she would use the Doctor's modified sonic screwdriver that could now affect living beings to turn his body into atoms!

First though, she would use it on Amy Pond.

As her TARDIS materialized, Amy looked at the console in surprise as she said, "Why did you bring me here for? I never wanted to come here again. Did you get me confused with Karen or something?"

"Who are you talking to, Mum?" Julia said as she looked at her with a quizzical look in her eyes.

"The TARDIS. She's taken me to the wrong place for some reason. I wanted to go back to the Earth of our own time, and we're in the 22nd century instead. I keep trying to get her to leave, and she just won't budge," Amy said perplexed as she continued to try to dematerialize with no success whatsoever.

"It's hardly the TARDIS' fault if you don't know how to drive her, Mum," Julia said grinning.

Amy started to smile as she said, "I know, I know. I look like a loon to you arguing with this ship. I didn't understand why the Doctor did it to his TARDIS when I was human either, and I used to think that the Doctor was making it up and was just blaming the TARDIS for his mistakes to cover up for the fact that he didn't know what he was doing. Well, actually he really is doing that, and don't ever let him tell you any different. That's not the case here though. This time the TARDIS really did make some kind of mistake. Either that or something's wrong with her."

"Like what? Is she sick?" Julia asked concerned.

Amy smiled as she said, "No, TARDISes don't get sick, sweetie. It's more like something's interfering with her somehow and causing her to malfunction."

"Or the TARDIS wanted us to come here for some reason," Selene said.

"Why though? What could possibly be wrong here for us to fix?" Amy said.

"You don't think that it could have anything to do with the Gangers, could it?" Rory asked.

"I thought of that as soon as I realized we were coming here, but things seem to be fine for them now. They've been given all kinds of rights and recognition all over the planet. They seem to be content now even though they don't exactly have everything that they want just yet. There haven't been any rebellions or attacks on humans in a long time now," Amy said.

"So everything's fine with them then?" Rory asked looking unsure.

"Yeah, it seems to be. Why do you keep asking about them for?" Amy asked.

"I . . . I just had a weird dream last night. It was about . . ." Rory said and then he trailed off as if he wasn't sure if he should say anymore.

"About what? Come on, Rory. You can tell me. Does it seem like these are dreams of the future maybe?" Amy asked.

Rory looked at her with surprise as he said, "I hope not. Can I do that now? Dream about the future?"

"Sometimes. We can see many possible futures and sometimes the way that they come to us is in our dreams. So I take it that this wasn't a good dream then?" Amy asked.

"No, it wasn't. It was very strange. I dreamed that we were trapped on a huge ship in space, and we were surrounded by Gangers that were out to kill you and capture me. This was before I even knew that we would be coming here," Rory said.

Amy looked at him in surprise as she said, "That's weird. Wait a minute! They only wanted to capture you? What were they going to do with you?"

Rory said his answer in a voice so low that no one without super hearing would be able to understand it.

"What was that? Say that again," Amy said.

Rory took a deep breath and began to slowly back away from Amy as he said, "I was going to be given to the Ganger of Jennifer Lucas as her new husband."

Amy looked at him with an incredulous look on her face, and then she did the very last thing that Rory would have expected her to do in that situation.

She started laughing her head off.

"So you have some weird nightmare about Jennifer Lucas, and you think just because she once fancied you that I'm going to be jealous or something? She's long gone. It's just a silly dream, Rory! It doesn't mean anything and a stupid nightmare like that certainly isn't going to make me angry with you. I mean it's not like you actually like her or anything," Amy said with a grin.

Then her eyes narrowed and her smile faded as if she was actually considering whether he did or not. Rory suddenly felt himself filled with terror. It was funny how things hadn't changed at all between them whether he was a Time Lord or not.

"I don't. I really don't. I felt sorry for her once and wanted to help her but that was it," Rory said quickly as he backed further away from her.

Amy smiled as she said, "Oh, stop it, Stupid Face! I already know that, and that's why I was thinking things over because I know that you wouldn't think about her on purpose. I was just wondering if maybe it really was more than just a dream. What if she is still alive? I mean Karen and Matt were. Yeah, that was because of Rose, but how do we know that someone else with similar powers couldn't have done the same thing for Jennifer."

"You mean . . . ?" Rory started to ask as he thought about the War Lord.

Amy nodded already knowing what he was going to say as she said, "Exactly. I wouldn't put it past her. Maybe that's why the TARDIS brought us here. Maybe your dream was real after all."

"Well, that's just wonderful. I'm going to be kidnapped by psychotic Gangers so that I can be forced to marry Jennifer Lucas. I'm sure that's going to be loads of fun. I hate this new life as a Time Lord already," Rory said.

"Will you stop worrying? That's never going to happen if I can help it. If she is still alive, she's going to wind up wishing that she'd stayed dead," Amy said.

"Either that or I will," Rory said.

"Where was I in this dream of yours? What about Julia?" Selene asked looking at her sister with worry.

"I don't remember either one of you being in it. It was just me and Amy," Rory said.

"Well, It looks like you and I are going to have to be extra careful then, Jules," Selene said as she unconsciously wrapped her arms around her little sister protectively.

"I'm sure we'll be fine. Mum can beat anybody, and if she can't you can. If you can beat Angel Bob, then you can handle some jumped up little clones," Sirona said.

"I hope so," Selene said.

"Why are all of you getting so worked up for over a dream? Even if it is true that Time Lords have dreams that can come true, that still doesn't mean that anything's going to happen to Julia. He wasn't dreaming about you two," Brian said as he wondered why Selene was becoming so worried all of a sudden.

Amy knew however. She knew exactly why.

"It's nothing, Lena. Don't worry," Amy said to Selene in a comforting voice as she called her by the nickname that she used to use for her when they were children.

"I hope so," Selene said as she began to hug Julia very tightly to her and kissed her cheek.

"What's going on? Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden, and since when does Mum call you Lena?" Julia asked in a slightly frightened voice.

"It's nothing, sweetie. Don't worry about it," Amy said in a dismissive tone.

The others were all looking at her skeptically though so she decided to let them know in a way that wouldn't upset Julia. She established a temporary telepathic link between everyone in the Console Room but Julia and then began to speak to them.

Selene once had a dream when we were young that involved the two of us and our mother crashing in our TARDIS. Our father wasn't in it though, and Selene just kept wondering about that. She wondered why he wouldn't be there with us because he always flew the TARDIS back in those days. Mum of course used this as a reason to just dismiss it as an ordinary dream since that would never happen, and she finally got her to stop worrying about it that way. Then a few days later, our TARDIS was caught up in a very nasty temporal rift that severely damaged it and made us crash land. My mother, Selene, and I were all just fine just like in her dream, but our father . . . our father was killed instantly when we landed. Ever since then Selene's been terrified of any dreams that she has that are similar to that one. She thinks that it's going to happen again even though it never has. It wasn't even your dream this time, Selene. Amy said to them telepathically.

I can't help it. I don't want anything to happen to Julia, Sirona, or Brian. I don't care about me, but I don't want any of them to die. Selene said in a frantic voice even though her face was impassive on the outside so as not to alarm Julia.

It's just a dream. Amy even said that it never happened again. Brian replied as he tried to calm her down.

She was very traumatized by it because she thought that she could have prevented it, Brian. Amy explained.

Nonsense. How was she to know that it was real? There was nothing that she could have done anyway. She was just a child. Brian argued.

"What's going on? Why are none of you speaking?" Julia asked suspiciously.

"I guess we're just thinking about what's to come. That's all. The Gangers gave me and Rory a lot of problems the last time we faced them, Julia, especially Jennifer Lucas. She was a bucket load of crazy," Amy said.

"Nice. Way to make me feel better, Clio!" Selene said as she started to lose her composure.

"Clio?" Rory asked.

"It's a nickname everyone used to call me back in the old days back on Gallifrey. Never mind that right now. Selene, I can't make the TARDIS leave, but if you want I can see if I can contact Eris. I'm sure she'll gladly take all of you home until Rory and I can find out what's really going on here," Amy said.

"Thanks for volunteering me," Rory said.

"I knew you wouldn't mind," Amy said grinning.

"This isn't funny! We're not leaving this TARDIS! Have you got that? If we're not split up, then nothing will happen. The dream can't come true that way," Selene said frantically.

"What's going on?" Julia asked as she began to panic now too.

"Absolutely nothing, Julia. We'll all stay right here until I call Eris. How about that?" Amy asked.

"That's fine. That's just the way that I want it," Selene said.

Suddenly the TARDIS started to shake all over, and Amy immediately ran to the console to see that they were suddenly being moved. Someone was moving the TARDIS with them still inside of it!

"The TARDIS is being transmatted," Amy said.

"I'll give you three guesses where," Rory said.

"It doesn't matter. They still can't get in here to get to us. No one can open those doors if I don't want them to," Amy said confidently.

Suddenly the doors opened and The General walked in with a smug smile on her face while carrying a TARDIS master key that could open any TARDIS in her hand as she said, "Surprised? I got this as a gift from a friend of mine."

"Stupid War Lord. She must have stolen that from the guards in the Capitol somehow," Amy muttered.

"I wouldn't be calling her stupid. She was certainly smarter than you it seems. Now you will pay for helping the Doctor to stop my revolution. Take her," The General said as several Gangers immediately entered the Console Room and grabbed Amy.

They quickly carried her and Rory out as The General said to Rory, "Don't worry, Rory. I won't hurt you. I remember how kind you were to me. In fact, I have a very important question to ask you, but not until after your wife is dead of course."

The General began to grin malevolently as Rory said, "Let the rest of them go. You don't need them."

"You're right. I don't. Of course I'll let them go, Rory. Anything for you, dear," The General said as she stroked his face.

"I'll rip that hand off for that," Amy said as she struggled to break free.

As soon as Amy and Rory were out of the TARDIS, it was immediately transmatted away. Rory looked at The General in fear as she smiled at him with a mad grin on her face.

"Oh, don't worry about them, Rory. I sent them away just like you asked. They've been transmatted back to Earth," The General said.

Rory breathed out a sigh of relief as he said, "So they're safe then?"

"Oh, no. I didn't say that. You see I didn't need them anymore, and I didn't want them coming back here to rescue you so I had them transmatted back to Earth . . . five hundred feet over the middle of the ocean. At the rate that they would be falling, I'm sure that they should be reaching it right about now. Do you really think that they have time to start the TARDIS up before it hits the water? I suppose it's possible but somehow I doubt it. Oh, well!"

She began to laugh while her Gangers dragged Amy and Rory off in separate directions. Even as they lost sight of each other though, Amy and Rory weren't thinking of themselves and what might happen to them at all.

Both of them turned pale as they became absolutely terrified that Selene may have just been right after all. Was this the last that they would see of their family?

Next: What happened to the TARDIS and its occupants? Did they survive? Amy and Rory will find themselves having to fight through an entire ship full of Gangers in order to find out even as they try to save each other. Plus its Amy versus The General as the mad Ganger uses her ability to shape shift into the deadliest of forms to the hilt in order to kill our favorite Scottish Time Lady. Next time it's a fight years in the making.
