THESE ANGELS DO MORE THAN WEEP

Karen, Sirona, and Selene had gone to the House of Brightshore expecting a fight, and they had definitely gotten one. The senior members of their family were adamant about giving control of the house and all of its great wealth over to Sirona and taking it away from Amy. Nothing the three Time Ladies said seemed to change their minds about that no matter how much Karen threatened or yelled at them about it.

That didn't stop her from trying though. Many of the people there wound up developing a migraine headache before she was through.

It was too bad for them that the yelling had only just gotten started.

Amy had immediately flown into a rage after she had been told what was going on by Julia and had run into her TARDIS saying several expletives in Gallifreyan so that Julia wouldn't pick up any bad language. She materialized right in the middle of the standoff between Karen and the senior members of their family and stormed out with a death glare on her face that made several of the people present instantly back away from her in terror.

"Okay, what's the deal with kicking me out of my own House? Somebody please explain to me exactly what's going on right now or I'll start busting some heads in here in a minute," Amy said in an outraged tone.

"There's no use yelling. I already tried it. They won't budge," Karen said.

"How about I get more physical with them instead then and see how they like that?" Amy said as she balled her hands up into fists.

"Lady Cliodna, using violence won't change our reasons for wanting someone new in charge of the House's finances. Since your return to being the head of the family, the profits from our various businesses have plunged to all-time lows. The reason for this is quite clear. You haven't been paying attention to the day to day affairs of the House but have instead decided to continue with your little adventures across time and space. You've left it to your mother Cessair to run things instead and thanks to her, to put it lightly, lack of experience with business matters she has run everything straight into the ground. We will no longer stand by and allow this to happen. We have all had a unanimous vote to give Sirona a chance to run things instead. She couldn't possibly do any worse," Lord Anjo, one of the senior members of the House, said.

"The fact that she's young and inexperienced so that you can push her around easier than my mother had nothing at all to do with your decision I'm sure," Amy said.

"Are you accusing us of only wanting someone new in charge so that we can manipulate them?" Anjo asked in an irritated voice.

"I'm not just accusing you of it. I'm outright stating it. You're not getting away with it either. I'll take this to the High Council and the Lady President if I have to. Why I might even mention it to one of my other daughters. River Song. I'm sure that some of you have heard of her before and what she does when someone makes her angry. Believe me when I say that nothing would make River angrier than what you're doing to her mother right now," Amy said with a smirk on her face.

Amy could see several of the other Time Lords, who obviously had heard of some of River's 'exploits' before, shiver in fear. She hated to reinforce the image that Melody was some sort of psycho when she knew differently but desperate times called for desperate measures.

"Now you're resulting to threats? It seems that our decision to remove you has come at exactly the right time," Anjo said.

"I see what you mean," Amy said to Karen who frowned.

"You haven't heard the last of this. I'm going to fight this all the way," Amy said.

Sirona then joined into the conversation as she said, "I'm not leading this House. I mean that. I have absolutely no interest in doing it whatsoever if it's only being given to me in order to exploit me. That is what it is too. I don't care what you say. So if you still want to throw Gran out, then I'll just take her to Earth to live. I still own a house there as Amber Loch. So there go your pathetic little attempts to bully me into doing it right out the window."

"They threatened to throw Mum out?!" Amy said in an outraged voice.

"That's right," Sirona said.

"That's it!" Amy shouted as she started to rush towards Anjo with a furious look on her face.

"Amy, no!" Rory said as he tried to hold her back.

"You'd better let me go right now or you're going to be pulling away a stump," Amy said in a voice filled with anger.

"Amy, this won't do you any good. All you're going to do is get yourself into trouble and make it look like they're right about you," Rory said as he continued to restrain her.

Amy sighed as she said, "I hate it when you're right. Fine, I'll just go to the Council about it then. That is if you haven't already bought them all off."

Anjo looked shocked by this and Amy smiled as she had at least scored one victory against the old goat. Now that she had the last word, she decided to leave, and she and the others immediately got into her TARDIS.

As soon as Amy's TARDIS dematerialized, Anjo said, "Being one of the humans for so long has obviously addled her mind. We must take steps to cut all ties with her immediately."

"Now aren't you glad that I called your attention to the financial dealings of her mother? This might have gone on for years if I hadn't brought it to you," A voice said behind him.

"And I definitely thank you for that, Lord Solitaire. If it wasn't for you, the House of Brightshore would have wound up in ruins. You're not even a member of this House so we definitely owe you a great debt of gratitude," Anjo said.

"Oh, I was just doing my duty to ensure the future of our people since your House's stability is so important to the well-being of our economy. It's what any good citizen of Gallifrey would do," Solitaire said.

"Perhaps we would do better to let a non-family member run things here," Anjo said as he looked pointedly at Solitaire.

Solitaire smiled as things went exactly as he had wanted them to go. By manipulating the senior members with lies and altering the House's records to make Amy's financial dealings look even worse than they actually were, he had been completely successful in turning most of Amy's own family against her. Soon she would be left without any access to her family's great fortune. Perhaps that would make the sudden offer of a book deal in Manhattan even more appealing.

He now hoped that this would be more than enough to finally get her to go there in order for the trap that was waiting for her to finally be sprung at last. If nothing else, at least it had cut her off from her family's resources so that there would be far less people willing to help her and stand between her and his people.

Even better than that, perhaps he had just managed to get control of the House handed to him. He hadn't even planned on that. It had just been a happy accident. If such a thing worked out though, he would bring the House and Gallifrey's economy crashing down all around them within weeks!

It amused him to turn these Time Lords against one another. They really were so easily manipulated.

Back on Amy's TARDIS, Amy had just found the message about the book deal that had been left on the console and couldn't believe what she was hearing. Someone actually wanted to publish her book at last!

"Did you hear that? Summer Falls is going to be published!" Amy said as she screamed with joy.

"We have to go to Manhattan to sign the contract though," Rory said warily.

"So? We've both been there before for my modeling jobs," Amy said.

Rory looked troubled as he said, "That was before Rose saved us from being trapped there forever."

"Oh, that's all old news now, Rory. Rose changed that forever. There's no danger of that happening now. You worry too much," Amy said as she smiled at him and gave him a tender kiss.

"Are you sure? Or did she just postpone it? Maybe we shouldn't go there and push our luck," Rory said warily.

"I can't believe you. You're usually the logical one," Amy said.

"I'm just saying that we shouldn't tempt fate by going there. That's all," Rory said.

"Don't be ridiculous. There's nothing there to scare us, Rory. It's just a place. A place just like any other. Stop worrying so much," Amy said as she rolled her eyes at him.

"So you're going there now then?" Rory asked.

"Why not? I really want this book deal, Rory. It'll be just what I need to finally become a successful author because I just know that Summer Falls will become an instant best seller. I believe in it. Don't you want me to live out my dream?" Amy asked in a hurt voice.

"You know that I do. It's not that at all. I just don't want anything to happen to you while you're there," Rory said.

"I said it's going to be fine. Why won't you listen to me? Just calm down. It's not like we'll moving there or something. I'm just going to sign the contract and then leave as soon as I can," Amy said.

Rory finally gave up. He knew that there was no convincing her now that she had firmly made up her mind. He was just going to have to watch out for anything strange happening and do his best to keep them all safe if it did.

Maybe she was right and he really was worrying for nothing. Somehow though, something deep in his gut told him that she was wrong. He had never wanted her to be right more in his life.

Amy landed the TARDIS just outside of the building where the future publisher of her book, Blink Publishing, was located and quickly made her way to their office. The others stayed in the TARDIS while Amy and Rory went by themselves. Amy assured them that they wouldn't be gone long.

"I didn't even know that Mum had written a book. She never mentioned it before. I didn't even know that she wanted to be writer," Julia said.

"She's wanted to be one for a very long time now. I can remember her writing stories, mostly about the Doctor, ever since she was a little girl. She just doesn't talk about it much because she's been rejected so many times. I can't believe she's finally being published at last. I'm so happy for her," Brian said.

"You'd think that she'd at least mention that she wrote stories though," Julia said.

"I, I mean she, wrote Summer Falls a long time ago when she first started traveling with the Doctor. No wonder she didn't mention it. She probably stopped thinking about it because she didn't want to get her hopes up. I bet she was just sending out manuscripts over and over again for years until she finally got lucky. Maybe I should start writing again," Karen said thoughtfully.

"Oh, I know what you could do. You could write a story about a girl who time travels with an alien in a blue box until she finds out that she's also an alien. Plus she also finds out that her best friend was her own daughter from the future," Selene suggested with a grin.

"Naw, no one would ever believe it. They'd say that it was too far out there," Karen said with a chuckle.

Meanwhile while the others talked and laughed with one another, Idunn watched them from the back of the Console Room with a sad look on her face. They didn't even realize just how lucky that they were that they knew their own identities. It was something that everyone else took for granted every day. She so envied them.

She was surprised to find Brian and Julia suddenly sitting next to her. She wasn't sure if she really wanted company right now in her current mood, but she decided not to say anything to them because they had been so nice to her.

"Did you remember anything else?" Brian asked in a hopeful tone.

"No, I haven't. I so wish that I could. Nothing's coming to me though. Nothing at all," Idunn said in despair.

"Don't give up. I'm sure that you'll remember it all eventually. Selene had a similar problem when she first became a Time Lady again. She couldn't remember some things from her life on Gallifrey, and she was really upset about it. She tried to hide it from me, but I could tell. She finally had it all come back to her though and so will you," Julia said with a positive attitude.

"Thank you, sweetie. I really hope that you're right," Idunn said.

"Don't try to force it. It'll come to you in time I'm sure. If you ever need to talk about it though, I'm always here to listen," Brian said.

"Me too," Julia offered.

Idunn smiled as she said, "Thank you. Both of you. I may just take you up on that."

"Well, I certainly hope so," Brian said meaning it.

Suddenly Idunn screamed out in pain as she held her head in her hands. Everyone in the Console Room looked at her in fear as she fell forward and hit the floor while writhing in agony.

"Idunn, what's wrong?" Selene asked with concern.

"What's happening?" Julia asked as she clung to Brian in fear.

Then Idunn's face seemed to suddenly change from one that none of them who knew her before recognized to the way that Idunn looked when Selene had last saw her and back again in the blink of an eye. It all occurred so fast that Selene wasn't sure that it had actually happened or not.

"Did you see that?" Selene asked the others.

They all nodded in shock as Selene said, "What is going on here?"

Idunn finally stopped screaming and said to Selene with a sudden smile, "I remember you! You and your sister!"

"That's great. So you remember everything now?" Selene asked hopefully.

Idunn's face fell as she said, "No, just the two of you."

"Don't worry about it. It'll come," Selene said.

"If you don't die first in the process," She added under her breath.

She was definitely going to have to talk to Amy about this later when she got back. She didn't know what had just happened to Idunn, but she was sure that it couldn't be good. They were definitely going to have to take her to be examined by someone as soon as possible before she had another attack like that one again.

Meanwhile in the publisher's office, Amy signed her contract with a huge smile on her face as she said, "I still can't believe that this is actually happening. It's just like a dream."

"Oh, it's real I assure you, Mrs. Williams. Your book is going to hit the top of the best seller's list in one week. I'm absolutely sure of it. In fact, I'm sure that your next book will do just as well if not better. You do have a next book don't you? Surely there are more manuscripts that you haven't had published that you'd like us to take a look at," B. J. Sparrow, Amy's new boss, said.

Amy hesitated before saying, "Well, I have a lot of them actually. I'm not sure if they're good enough though."

B. J. smiled as he said, "Just let me be the judge of that. I want you to bring me all of your other manuscripts and let me have a look at them. I bet that they're all diamonds in the rough just waiting to be polished and sold. I expect them to be on my desk within the week."

"You mean I have to come back?" Amy asked as Rory shot her a worried look.

B. J. looked at her oddly as he said, "Of course, Mrs. Williams. You'd have to do that anyway in order to promote your book. There are plenty of places that you'll have to go in Manhattan after all. Is that going to be a problem?"

Amy ignored Rory's pleading looks as she said, "No, it's just fine. I just wasn't expecting it. I thought it would all be over in one trip."

"No, that's just for the signing of the contract. There's plenty more left to do. Publishing is definitely not as simple as that. Not by any means. I'll let you know more about that later though. For now, you just worry about finding those other manuscripts and bringing them back to me. I also hope that you have plenty of ideas for new ones too," B. J. said.

"Oh, I do. I've got a lot more where they came from believe me. Thank you so much, B. J. You don't know how much this means to me. I feel so lucky right now," Amy said with absolute joy.

"Actually I feel like we're the lucky ones to sign you up first. Tell me. Do you have any book ideas about angels?" B. J. asked with what Rory thought was an almost sinister smile on his face.

"Angels?" Amy asked in shock.

"Yes. They're all the rage right now. If you've got any story ideas about Angels, then be sure and let us know, okay?" B. J. said.

"No, I . . . I don't usually have stories with Angels in them," Amy said in a weak voice.

"Oh, well it's not a big deal. I just thought that I'd ask. Don't worry about it. Well, good bye now. I'll see you soon, okay?" B. J. said.

"Yeah, sure," Amy said in a distracted voice as Rory watched the still smiling B. J. warily.

He seemed to almost be enjoying Amy's reaction to his words. There was something wrong here. He just knew it.

"Let's go, Amy," Rory said as he pulled her out the door in a hurry to get her out of there as quickly as possible.

After they left, B. J. Sparrow laughed just before he suddenly became a Weeping Angel. He and his partner on Gallifrey, Mr. Solitaire, were Weeping Angels who had become Time Lords and could now switch back and forth at will. They were both now blending into Earth and Gallifrey seamlessly in order to carry out the perfect revenge on the Ponds.

He couldn't resist mentioning Angels to her just to see the look on her face. Besides that, he wanted her to know that she had just made a mistake. He wanted her to start realizing even now that she had just made a huge mistake.

He was going to enjoy slowly building her terror up until it was at its absolute peak. Then and only then, he would finally destroy her and her husband.

No one got away from the Weeping Angels and lived to talk about it.

Before he killed them though, he was going to use Amy's books to carry out the Angels' greatest plan yet. It pleased him to use her as his unknowing instrument of destruction. She wouldn't even realize what was happening and neither would the world until it was far, far too late.

The image of an Angel is an Angel after all, and he was going to publish a small image of an Angel on the cover of all of Amy's books. Soon the Angels would be all over this pitiful world, and the lives of all of Amy's readers worldwide would be theirs for the taking!

Next: Next time there will be more on the Angels' plot as Amy and Rory begin to become more and more suspicious about what's really going on at Blink Publishing. Also Amy will try to appeal what's happening to the House of Brightshore to the High Council. What will their answer be? There will be more on Idunn as well as Amy takes her to Marissa to be examined for her terrible headaches. What exactly is wrong with her?
