Chapter 30: 100 Bunches of Herbs in the Ground Part 1
Toad Town Studios, Toadstool's Awesome Office, 4:31 PM
"So...you know how to control time?" asked Orange. "Impossible!"
"Not with time cards, it ain't," said Toadstool.
"Time cards can fast forward and reverse time," Darrel explained.
"You can travel to the past or to the future...theoretically," said Purple.
"You mean you've never tried?" asked Orange.
"Nope," said Darrel. "Too dangerous."
"Yeah, we could be traveling straight into the apocalypse or something," said Toadstool.
"But you could always travel back, right?" asked Orange.
"They might not have any cards in the future to write on, though," said Purple.
"So that's why you guys always keep a small deck of cards with you!" Orange exclaimed.
"Yep. Never know when you might need a quick escape," said Darrel. "Like once, I went a few years into the past and saw past me fighting off a giant Goomba-"
"But I thought you said you guys never traveled to the past!" Orange interrupted.
"I meant we've never traveled that far into the past," Darrel huffed. "Not like two hundred years ago or anything like that. But anyway, I felt my body fading and that could only mean one thing...my past self was about to die."
"You helped him out though, right?" asked Orange.
"Obviously," said Darrel. "Or I wouldn't be here today telling you this."
"True. Maybe one day I'll go ten years into the future just to see if I can," said Toadstool.
"Sounds like an adventure," said Purple.
"Guys, we really should be getting to the stage," said Darrel.
"I'll check for any more guest requests." Orange went to the computer. She came back two minutes later with some info and handed it to Toadstool.
"Thanks, Orange," said Toadstool as she, Darrel, and Yoshi ran to the stage.
"Have fun today, you guys!"
Toad Town Studios, Main Stage, 4:53 PM
The TToDS trio got into their usual spots. A guy that looked like an orange Mario brother without a mustache came out the warp pipe. Toadstool looked at the info Orange had given her. "Um...Kyle Kartio, right?" she asked the newcomer.
"Yep," Kyle shook her hand and she gave him the stage directions. He went into a corridor. Toadstool sat in the host's chair and Darrel pointed at her, signaling the show's start.
"Hello, and welcome to Toadstool89's Truth or Dare Show! I'm Toadstool Eighty Nine, but you can call me Toadstool. I have a special guest today. Please welcome...Kyle Kartio!" Toadstool motioned to Kyle to sit in the guest's chair, and he did.
"Welcome to the show," said Toadstool.
"Thanks, this is awesome," said Kyle.
"Okay, you pick the first truth or dare since you're the guest." Toadstool handed Kyle a tablet. He looked it over.
"Um...okay. We have a dare from firedragon24k for Shadow! Do a Chaos Spear with an archery bow an hit Yoshi."
An archery bow appeared in Shadow's hands. "Chaos Spear!" he yelled. It formed in his hands and he pulled back the drawstring and let it fly. An "Ow!" could be heard all the way from Yoshi Island.
"Okay, my turn," said Toadstool. "I have a dare from me for Leafpool! Sing the song '100 Bottles of Milk on the Wall'. No wait, I've got a better idea! Since you're a medicine cat, let's change it to '100 Bunches of Herbs in the Ground'!"
"Uh...what?" Leafpool looked confused.
"Okay, let me explain. So you start at one hundred, and every time you get to the end of a verse, you go down a number," said Toadstool. Leafpool still looked confused. "I guess it'd be easier to just show you. Here, I'll do the first two for you." Toadstool began to sing.

Yeah, I knew this would probably span a couple or possibly more chapters. I'm not even halfway done. But I wanted to do it anyway. Fun fact: 100 Bunches of Herbs in the Ground was originally written for a Warriors story I thought about writing, but I thought it'd be way funnier here. And I was right, I think.
