Hey everyone, I'm sorry this took so long to get to you.
To be honest I have been writing this chapter just...really really slowly.
Most of this was due to moving homes twice in one year and the stress made it really hard to write.
I did my best on this chapter, and I hope to be writing more and better chapters through this year till the story is finished.
Thank you again for waiting on this story for so long and I apologize again for making you all wait so long. Thank you to everyone who reads this story and I hope to keep making more for you to enjoy!

now that the warning is done enjoy the story.
I couldn't believe what was going on. As we flew around Berk into the night just how much Ashter was listening and willing to just... fly! It was... nice. Just flying through the air showing him everything we saw. His face was amazed as we saw the aurora borealis light up the sky.
It was magnificent to see. I could hear Ashter mumble in awe at the sight. Though the best part was as we reached the edge of the clouds to see our home, Berk, all lit up. The look on Ashter's face was like a kid getting a present.
Berk was so beautiful at night and seeing it from a dragon's view only caused the scene to be that more breathtaking. I saw Toothless look back, and he looked happy. Smiling at Toothless I felt Ashter's arms tighten around me as he rested his head close to mine. I looked back and smiled seeing as he was really enjoying this.
Toothless flew, almost glided, between the guardian statues of Berk. we were getting much better at flying as one. Though I was all smiles as Toothless took us higher into the night sky. It was beautiful with the full moon just illuminating everything.
"Okay, I gotta admit this is pretty amazing...This is cool." Ashtar said making me glance back at him relieved. "He's pretty cool."
I watched as Ashter patted Toothless gently on the side and Toothless looked up a bit letting him with a grin of his own. I couldn't have been more happy then I was right were starting to get along, and that would help later on.
It was relaxing as we flew over the ocean heading to who knows where on Toothless when Ashter spoke. "So what are you going to do?" hearing this I couldn't help but sigh.
"Your final exam is tomorrow, you're going to have to kill a-" Ashter stopped but only to move closer to me so he could whisper, "you're going to have to kill a dragon."
Hearing this I winced, feeling my chest tighten as my body tensed.
"I know...I know, you don't have to remind me. I'll think of something." I said just as Toothless suddenly veered right diving down causing me and Ashter to cry out.
"Toothless...What's going on what's happening?" I asked looking up to see we were in a fog. this couldn't be good.
As we flew through the fog out of the corner of my eye I saw something. While I was looking, I had to bite my own tongue to keep from screaming. It was a Monstrous Nightmare, and it was carrying fresh kill.
"Get down!" I whispered harshly pressing myself down flat on Toothless, feeling Ashter do the same. As we did this we almost collided with a Deadly Nadder holding its own fresh kill.
Toothless straightened out, but now we were flying in between two deadly dragons.
My heart was racing as I looked between them. Feeling Ashter's grip on me tighten I turn to ask what was the matter when I saw it. We weren't just between two deadly dragons with fresh kill...we were in a swarm of them. Around us everywhere was a dragon carrying some form of animal or kill. I felt a shudder of fear run through me as gripped the saddle tighter in my hands. 'What is going on here Toothless' I thought as I tried to calm my racing heart.
"What's happening here?" Ashter whispered as he looked around at all the dragons around us. Shaking my head I answered, "I... I don't know. I don't..." I shuddered, looking down at Toothless and placing my hand on his head. "Toothless, love,...you got to get us out of here." I whispered as quietly as I could un-sure of the dragons around us.
Toothless just growled and moved my hand of his head. I was shocked by this and a bit...frightened.
"Hiccup?" I heard Ashter ask quietly. Glancing back I knew he was going to need an answer to what was going on. Looking over I swallowed before I answered him. "They're...They're hauling in their kill." I said to him feeling the muscles in Ashter's body tense.
"So what does that make us." he asked turning to look at me. Looking away I didn't know how to answer him. Next sound I hear though is a clicking noise. Ashter must have heard it too as we both looked over to the side to see the two heads of a Hideous Zippleback 'talk' before they glared growling.
Gripping the saddle I turned to address Toothless. When we did, he suddenly did a nosedive down. Ashter's grip tightened to a painful extent as we pulled up a few feet from the water below and glided through different stone columns in the fog. As we flew I couldn't help but think back to to the time when Toothless and I took our first flight together. The first time we worked as one.
Gliding through the maze of stone It felt like the air was getting thicker with heat. Squinting I could see light ahead growing brighter until we saw it. An small island with a large Volcano in the center of dawned on me as we flew closer to the volcano and through a passageway where we were.
We were at the dragon's lair...the Nest.
* I can hear it...the queens call. It took everything I had to keep from growling. I hadn't meant to but when flying Hiccup and... Ashter around I had flown too close to the nest. I knew Hiccup was afraid but she was also curious about what was going on. 'One of the reasons I fell for her.' I thought. I could feel hiccups grip tighten around the saddle as we entered the volcano through a large crevice in its side.
It was dark for a few moments before we entered the nest. Surrounding us on different stone perches were dragons of all types of this area.
"What my father wouldn't give to finally find this place." Hiccup mummered as I scanned the area looking for a place to land. I pray to the heavens that her father never found this place. Not only for my kins safety but for hers as well. Watching as my kin threw their catch into the fiery depths below I swerved off to the side continuing the fly. I knew the others wouldn't notice Hiccup or Asther as they would be too focused on something else.
Seeing a ledge with a column of rock, that was the perfect spot to land that would keep the vikings safe. That is as long as I wasn't spotted by her. As I landed I could feel Hiccup move upon the saddle trying to get a better view behind the column. "Well that's wonderful to know all our food is just dumped down a hole." she whispered as she watched more dragons drop what they have taken. If she only knew...
"It doesn't seem like they want any of it." I heard Ashter say. At that moment one of the stone dragons came flying in in a lazy manner. To be more accurate it was more like he ate fermented fruit as he spat out a fish.
Hearing growling I moved back a step trying to shield the two humans as much as I could, I watched as a massive spiny dragon came out eating the poor stone dragon. Hearing the two gasp, I watched the others try to hide themselves away from the massive being. Ashter asked, "What...is that?"
The Massive dragon went back into the smoke bellow but kept its head peeking out watching us. This wasn't good and hiccup understood, we have seen enough.
"Okay Love, let's get out of this place." She spoke softly as the Dragon spotted us, I couldn't agree with her more. "Now!" she cried as I leapt off the stone perch just missing getting us eaten by her. As we flew up the others followed as if covering our escape. If that was so, I would thank them one day. Hearing a deep growl coming closer, I glanced back only to see one of the twin heads flying in the path of me and her. I felt guilt as I saw the twin head being taken down. They sacrificed themselves... if it was the last thing I do, I will avenge them one day.
Flying out of the Volcano's peak I made a course to get us home. It was late and I knew hiccups father would most likely be searching for her if not the blond one was well.
My heart was racing and my head was spinning. From what I saw I just...I couldn't begin to believe. There were so many things going on. What I did know was the dragons...they were stealing to survive and that dragon that tried to kill us. That thing was making them, out of fear of being food themselves.
Shuddering, I looked down at Toothless wondering If he suffered this as well. Though when I thought back to the Night Fury attacks I noticed he never really took anything he would just provide cover. He protected the others the best he could, Like a leader would.
As we were flying back to Berk as fast as we could, Ashter and I would not stop arguing. Oddly enough it was a friendly argument. We were arguing about why the dragons were acting like that... and so far Ashter had a good reasoning... but a Bee hive? I was arguing with him that just couldn't be like that, and explained my idea that, it was more of fear then mindlessly following.
As we landed in back in the cove Ashter immediately jumped off of Toothless and started speaking quickly, "This totally makes sense! That volcano is like a bee hive, the regular dragons are the worker's and she's their queen! She controls them." Ashter explained as Toothless and I shared a look. " Come on if we find your dad now he can think of a plan."
I looked at Ashter shocked "No" I said quickly getting down.
Rushing over to him I turned him to face me. "No, doing that would be a horrible mistake. They would kill Toothless!" I cried out, looking at the dark dragon before looking away in thought.
"We can't do that...we need to think about this carefully, Ashter."
"Hiccup...you have to be kidding me. We just found the one thing your father has been searching for, what? The thing almost all Vikings have been looking for since we've landed here: the dragon's nest! And you don't want to say anything cause he might kill your pet...your...your boyfriend?! Are you serious right now!" He exclaimed almost appalled that I would do such a thing or even suggest it.
Standing by Toothless I pet his muzzle before turning to Ashter with a serious look on my face. "Yes, Ashter I am serious." I said. Toothless meant the world to me and I had a feeling that these dragons... they weren't evil... they were just scared. Ashter looked at me, for a while studying me. As his expression softened, I looked away.
"Okay... Okay, we'll do this your way, but... what are we going to do?" He asked me.
Sighing I looked at him again over my shoulder. " I don't know... just... give me till tomorrow. I'll have something figured out." I began removing the harness.
"Alright..." Next thing I knew I felt a light, but very painful (at least to me), hit to my arm. "That is for keeping this a secret from me and kidnapping me." he , surprised I turned to see where Toothless had gone to drink to see him just shrug. Turning back to Ashter before I had a chance to ask 'what the hell', He had grabbed my chin and kissed my cheek quickly. "That...that's for everything else." he said before turning and leaving the cove.
Hearing footsteps behind me I look over my shoulder to see Toothless looking after Ashter then to me. "What are you looking at! You did nothing to stop him and I had no reaction time!" I yelled at him. I swear to the heavens that dragon actually smirked before he changed his from. "That may be my little Hiccup, but he still kissed what is mine." He spoke before pulling me to him. Groaning I rested my head on his chest. What was my life coming to and when did It get so complicated...
Oh that's right...when I decided it was a good idea to befriend a dragon.
Sighing I rested my head on Toothless' chest. I could feel him undo my braid and run his fingers through my hair. We stood like that for what felt like hours before either of us spoke "Tell me what's on your mind... Is this about what we saw?" He asked me softly and gently.
Sighing, I pulled back from him and walked a few paces till I reached the tree that Toothless liked to hang in. "It's just..." I sighed. "I never could have guessed you and all the other dragons were living like that... in such fear. you were only trying to survive and my people have been... killing them..." I said, feeling sick with the thought that we were killing from ignorance.
I could hear Toothless sighing as he approached me, holding me once more. "You couldn't have known... and I never wanted you to see that... there is nothing you could do to stop it." I heard him say but i rounded on him.
"There has to be something! Tomorrow, the whole village will be watching me! They're expecting me to kill a monstrous nightmare... To kill a dragon and celebrate it... But I can't do that! I can't kill a dragon, and I never want to!" I said as tears started to fall. Toothless embraced me and stroked my hair, speaking to me soothingly.
"I know you dear... you will find a way. You found a way to gain my trust." He said making me laugh.
"Yeah fish, but you were hungry... I couldn't let you starve." I said looking up at him. He smiled softly, cupping my cheek in palm of his hand.
"And my tail?" He asked me. Shrugging my shoulders I looked away. "It was my fault in the first place... I shot you down and... I crippled you. I had to fix my wrong doings." He only shook his head as I said this.
"What about returning my flight," He asked, "this allowed us to bond truely bond."
I could only smile a bit and shrug once more . "I couldn't think of any other way... and flying... it's amazing. Being up there in the sky." I said, looking up the night sky.
I could feel the rumble as he chuckled. "You just proved my point, my Hiccup. When it comes to following your heart and doing what's right, you can make it happen." He told me. "Tomorrow during that test... You'll find a way to show your father that we aren't to be feared or killed."
Looking up, I froze with the look I saw on Toothless' face. His eyes held a loving and tender look, full of nothing but trust. With the hand that was still on my cheek he pulled my face closer to his and kissed me.
I felt my body relax of all tension as I closed my eyes and returned the kiss. Toothless held me close as he kissed me, causing me to relax more.
Pulling away softly to rest his forehead on mine, looking at me I blushed.
"Stay with me... just tonight. I know if you go home... you'll panic and make yourself worry till your sick... so please... please stay with me." He whispered softly. I was shocked... I've never spent the night in the cove before... but Toothless had a point. I would wind up causing myself to worry till I got myself sick. My father would worry, but at least I wouldn't be outside puking in a bucket behind our home. "Okay..." I said looking up into his toxic green eyes, seeing them almost lighten up. "I'll stay."
Before I could say anything Toothless pulled me to him laughing, and from what I could tell, purring. "I'm glad! Thank you my Hiccup."
Smiling, I hugged him back laughing. Spending the Night with Toothless won't be so bad after all.
