A/N: I know, I know - it's been an eternity! I'm sorry... it was terribly mean to leave you with a cliffhanger for so long!
This sequel is officially dedicated to "deathdetective", whose hilarious knock-knock joke - review motivated me to continue this story :)
Addison tried to ignore her doorbell at first, thinking Jehova's Witnesses (or whoever dared to disturb her Sunday morning) could wait, but then, a familiar voice called her name:
"Addi? Breakfast is here!"
Derek! Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! She had to get rid of him as soon as possible, so she could deal with the Meredith-in-her-bathroom-problem! Sighing loudly, Addison opened the door, trying to put on a sick face. She hated lying to Derek, knowing that she owed him honesty after all these months, years of lies - but letting him in would feel like betraying Meredith, and Addison knew how broken, how fragile the blonde was right now, so no matter how much she craved breakfast-in-bed right now: comfort-in-bathroom was much more important!
Addison Montgomery had a whole arsenal of convincing sick-faces: food-poisoning-long-term sick, I'm-about-to-throw-up-RIGHT-NOW-sick, I'm-sick-and-tired-of-everything!-Just-leave-me-alone sick, Oh-mom-I'm-dying!-I-can't-go-to-school-today sick, ... She had been grooving this skill for years and years now, so she would have succeeded in deceiving Derek - if it hadn't been for the shower, being turned on only seconds after Addison had opened the door.
"Addi?" The jolly look on Derek's face crumbled. "No! NO! I'm going to kill him!" Furiously, he pushed the door open, stepped inside and walked straight up to the bathroom door, almost knocking it down by the mere power of his fist. "OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR, MARK!" He screamed, ignoring Addison's desperate attempts to stop him. He was in rage - infuriated by their audacity, and just as infuriated by his stupidity. He had left Meredith for Addison, had really wanted to give their marriage - their love! - a second chance! Why the hell did she crawl back into her best friend's arms?
Derek was so full of emotions - rage, hate, shame, guilt - that he wasn't sure whether he was still feeling anything at all. He couldn't feel Addison trying to pull him back, couldn't hear her screaming at him, begging him to stop. Couldn't feel the splinters of wood boring into his skin when the door gave in to his strokes and kicks, busting open. He couldn't understand the scream being uttered from indoors was the scream of a terrified woman, not of an adulterer being caught almost in the act. When Derek tore the shower curtain down, he was basically numb - immobilized by the overwhelming force of his emotions. But then he saw Meredith, saw her naked body, covered in scratches and bruises, huddled in the corner of the shower stall, the numbness cleared, and the only feeling that remained was confusion...
