Something was wrong here, Alice's thoughts vanished. It was like one moment she was there and then, gone. When my sister ran interference to keep me out normally I would get a jumble of random thoughts, or lyrics. This was like hitting a brick wall and it stunned me. It was like this with Bella, I had no idea why I couldn't read her mind I just couldn't. It had never happened before I had met her, and never with a member of my family. Grabbing my cell phone from my pocket I dialled her number. There was no answer, I dialled again, get again getting nothing.
