A few minutes later The Doctor knocked on her door and she opened it.

"I found the signal to the Nestene Consciousness. While you were moping in your room I managed to trace the signal to a department store called Henriks."

*So did you get the creature, or are you just standing there for another reason?* AL asked petulantly.

"No, we landed half a block away. I want you to stand guard outside of the TARDIS, make sure nobody stumbles on her. I'll go follow the signal."

AL found herself outside in the cold London air in the year 2005. She was still not happy that she had made a friend and The Doctor just told her never to see him again.

AL smirked suddenly and charged back inside and the TARDIS became worried with her cub.

(Little Cub, I believe I know what you are about to do…I must protest this idea.)

*Your fault you let me see the instruction manual!* AL quickly put in the date and time for 1947 instead of 1946 and hit the switch.

(You do not even know if Richard Lazarus will be there…a lot can happen in a year for a human.)

*I just want to see if he is there.* AL shouted and left the TARDIS who sighed in defeat.

(My Thief will be most upset…)

AL looked around the cinema place and frowned sadly seeing nobody around where they had been standing. AL sighed in defeat and felt a touch to her shoulder she spun around and grinned seeing a 15 year old boy looking at her with a grin.

"AL I thought that was you!" Richard admitted happily and hugged her. "How have you been?"

AL looked for her notepad and paled realizing she left the TARDIS without it. Richard seemed to notice she didn't have her pad and nodded understandingly.

AL made hand signals kind of like charades and Richard tried to guess what she was saying. She pointed to her eye.

"You." She motioned with her hands. "Wanted." She made a number two. "To." She made a check sign and pointed up. "Check up." And then she pointed to him. "On me?"

AL nodded and smiled making Richard blush slightly.

"Never had a pretty girl, aw heck, ANY girl want to check up on me." Richard admitted blushing even more. He kissed her cheek lightly and AL looked at him in surprise. "Sorry that was a bit forward…" He reasoned sheepishly and AL hugged him surprising him.

He saw the sad expression and he nodded.

"You need to go now…will I see you again?" Richard asked sadly and AL frowned and shrugged. "Then hopefully I shall see you at some point." Richard kissed her hand and she grinned at him and ran back to the TARDIS.

(I see he was there. I must warn you against doing this again little cub. No good will come from this.)

*He put his lips on my cheek.* AL admitted confusedly making the TARDIS snort in laughter.

(He kissed you. It's a sign of affection between creatures.)

*Affection?*

(We need to get back before The Doctor realizes we were gone.)

*Right…* AL hit the callback buttons and they were suddenly back at the place they had been. AL went to stand outside in the cold air of London 2005. She sighed in boredom when she saw a blonde human girl go running past her and the TARDIS. After AL saw the blonde girl run away a massive fire ball erupted into the sky and AL looked at the inferno.

*Oh please tell me The Doctor did that!* AL snapped sarcastically and saw a slightly singed Doctor show up beside her and she scowled at him. *You literally break everything! What happened?!*

"OI! No talking out here, not with the no lip moving. It's still 2005 out here!" The Doctor forced AL into the TARDIS and frowned. "Why does it feel different in here?"

(I sense no changes Doctor.) The TARDIS offered quickly and The Doctor just shrugged it off and AL sighed in relief. (He will find out sooner or later little cub…)

*So what happened?* AL asked following The Doctor to his workroom.

"I almost had the signal traced but a human ruined the whole thing. She just kind of stumbled onto the Autons, well technically the Autons stumbled on her and they tried to kill her."

*Female?* AL asked curiously and The Doctor nodded. *There was a blonde female that ran past me and the TARDIS a few minutes before you showed up. Was that her?*

"Pink shirt, kind of reddish pink jacket?" The Doctor asked and AL nodded. "Yep that was her. She said her name was Rose Tyler, there's something about this pink and yellow human." The Doctor admitted quietly and AL smirked to herself.

*Do you always classify humans by color?*

"What?" The Doctor looked over at her and frowned at what she said. "NO!" He snapped at her making the weird sound come from AL that sounded like it could be a laugh. "Shut it…I still have to find that signal!"
