The next morning Rose was in the main control room looking around.

*Pretty nice huh? Good morning…* AL greeted Rose who looked over and nodded.

"So you and The Doctor, are you from the same planet?" Rose asked curiously.

*No, I am from Alegerium, I do not know where he is from.*

"Were you really an experiment?" Rose asked softly and AL shrugged.

*I'm not sure 'what' I am…*

Rose hugged AL confusing the younger girl. Rose frowned in her own confusion.

"You're either really worried, or something is wrong with your heart…" Rose offered worriedly making AL frown this time.

*Which one?* AL asked patting her chest worriedly.

"You have more than one?" Rose was in shock.

*Don't you?* AL asked back just as curious.

"Humans only have one heart."

*Oh…I have three.* AL mentioned casually and saw the freaked out look on Rose's face. *What?*

"Three hearts?!" Rose asked stunned.

*I was one of the only four subjects to have that phase attempted. I was informed I was the only survivor and canceled the phase because they couldn't risk the other subjects.*

"Wow that sounds…" Rose shook her head even more sadly.

*I can show you.* AL lightly touched the side of Rose's face and Rose's eyes went wide in horror.

"We'll use the four most recent subjects for this phase."

"Agreed Master Zuni, they are the most recent and have a chance to adapt to the psychical changes."

"Well, then subjects 243, 244, 245 and 246 please get on the examination tables."

Rose saw herself moving and figured that she was watching as AL. She laid back on the table and was put under. Light came back to her sight after a while and she was in a stasis room. Three other beds to her right showed three other children. One child who looked like they were five years old went into cardiac arrest and flat lined.

"Subject 244 has negated life. We still have 243, 245 and 246."

Rose watched as one by one the children died leaving AL as the last one living.

"Huh, would you look at that? Subject 246 has managed to not only survive the process, her genetics has bonded with the trinary cell structures." Zuni muttered to himself looking at the results.

"Hey, maybe we can infuse dalekanium into all the subjects genetic makeup?" The other scientists mentioned eagerly.

"Unfortunately we have not figured how to fine tune the liquefied substance into lasting longer than a few hours. Seems this one was a freak accident. Cancel the next procedures, this phase will no be available." Zuni shook his head.

"Yes sir, Master Zuni."

AL took her hand from Rose's face and Rose looked over at the younger girl and hugged her one more time.

"Oh god AL…nobody should ever have to go through that kind of treatment."

The Doctor came in and looked at Rose and AL and smirked at them.

"Right then, Rose Tyler, you tell me. Where do you want to go? Backwards or forwards in time. It's your choice. What's it going to be?" The Doctor brought them both out of their sad moods and Rose looked at AL who shrugged.

"Forwards." Rose decided and AL grinned.
