First off: I AM REALLY SO VERY SORRY THAT I HAVEN'T POSTED A CHAPTER IN LIKE A MONTH, but you know, writer's block is tough, and I get busy… I'm in marching band, see, and our practice goes from 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, and I get really tired after that. There's also this game called MapleStory… :D Anyway, I really really try to write when I can, but it's… hard. The words don't flow like they usually do. D:
Sailor Moon is owned by Queen Naoko and TOEI Animation and I think VIZ Media now too, right? D:
Confession: I get a lot of my ideas from other books and stuff. Like the half-ghost half-person thing was from the series called "Croak" which is really good and I recommend it to all of you :3 The idea of Lucifer is kind of a mixture of Jose Porla and Zero from Fairy Tail. The looks I came up with myself :3
I secretly like coming up with chapter titles :D
This next chapter is what's called "word gag". "Word vomit" is when you just write and write and write until you can't anymore, and "word gag" is when you have to force it out. I'm sorry.
"Now we can get serious." Sailor Earth cracks her knuckles, grinning.
"Heh…" Lucifer says, picking himself up off the ground with ease. "That's cute… You thought again that you could defeat me. You wanna know why your puny magic doesn't work on me?"
Earth laughs once without humor. "Why is that? I'd certainly love to know." Sailor Earth grits her teeth. She does want to know, but this guy is pissing her off.
Lucifer laughs, dusting himself off. "I use something called curses. It's a lot stronger than magic, so you really have no chance of defeating me. Besides, I have to exist. Who will take in evil if not I?"
"I will," Saturn says. "I will take in the bad people of this universe.."
Lucifer laughs. "That's cute. You will? You, little girl of 14 years? That's adorable." Saturn moves into fighting position.
"Saturn," Neptune says, placing a motherly hand on her shoulder. "It's okay."
Saturn stands straight. "I can and I will handle your job from now on! If Sailor Moon defeated enemies at 14 years old, so can I! Death Reborn Revolution!"
Lucifer laughs as a large mass of ribbons materialize from nowhere, winding around Sailor Saturn, and tear through Lucifer. "This is…"
When the ribbons disappear, Lucifer falls to his knees and then his face. Saturn falls, too, and Neptune catches her.
"She's breathing," she says with relief.
Lucifer laughs a wheezing chortle. "That was impressive," he says, and sits up slowly. "Was that a curse?"
Uranus lifts her chin. "We pride ourselves with her Silence Glaive trump card."
He smirks. "I see. Maybe I should get more serious, then." He stands and closes his eyes. A dark red aura shoots up around him.
"Fight!" Earth shoots, and lashes her whip against the ground. "Element: Earth! Quaking Landslide!"
"Mars Phoenix Love!"
"Mercury Icy Harpoon!"
"Venus Crescent Love!"
"Jupiter Floral Burst!"
"Pink Lunar Eclipse!"
"Uranus Thrashing Winds!"
"Neptune Resounding Torrents!"
"Saturn Death Sentence!"
"Pluto Chronic Waves!"
Lucifer laughs maniacally, like he knows he's going to win. Or maybe he's just crazy.
Usagi gasps, her eyes ripping open. She sits up, clutching her chest, feeling her heart hammer against its cage.
"What's wrong?! What happened?!"
She looks at Mamoru with stern eyes. "We need to go back."
"What?! No! We're not going back. You need to stay here."
"I can't stay here!"
"Akira can handle it, I'm sure."
"No, she can't."
He falls silent, looking at her with a surprised expression. "W-What?" he says finally, quietly.
"Think of who they're going up against.. They can't. Akira's very proud, so she would be hurt if we went to 'rescue' her, but I think she'd rather have her life than her pride."
Mamoru purses his lips. "Are you sure?"
Usagi smiles. "Yeah. We'll be fine. I know it."
Sailor Sun falls to her knees. She can't go on much longer. She notices Earth is feeling the same way. They've been at this too long, too hard. They're too exhausted from all that's happened to continue.
"Haru," Earth says. "C'mon. We gotta keep goin'."
"I can't."
"Don't you say you can't. Think of what's at stake. Think of the Princess. Think of how far we've come since before we knew her."
Sun purses her lips. "Help me." Earth holds out a hand. Sun takes it.
"Aw, how cute," Lucifer comments with a slight grin.
Earth grits her teeth, glaring at Lucifer. This guy is pissing her off. Why won't he just die?!
Lucifer cocks his head slightly, still grinning. "What, was that all you had?" He laughs once, mocking her. "You're going to have to try just a tad harder, sweetums." He throws his head back, laughing.
Earth's eyes tighten as she scoffs. "I don't remember giving you the permission to call me that."
"Be careful," Sun says, squeezing Earth's hand before letting go.
"We'll see."
Theirs was not a silent journey. As they trekked, hand in hand, they talked of several things. Around half an hour in, Sailor Moon falls silent, and Tuxedo Mask has to ask what's wrong.
"Why do none of you get along? I thought we were all friends and comrades when I left, and I come back to find that the Inners and Outers are cold and don't speak, and none of them like you, except for Ami-chan and Mako-chan, who're just nice to you."
Now it's Tux's turn to be quiet. He doesn't know how to respond. Finally, he finds his voice. "We've never gotten along. I guess they're just not hiding it anymore." He'd forgotten how perceptive she could be on things like this.
Sailor Moon looks down at her shoes, and stops. Her throat feels thick. It's not fair. Why can't her loved ones get along?
"What?" Tux asks gently, almost sure he knows "what".
Sailor Moon wraps her arms around Mamoru and cries. "This isn't fair. Why can't you all get along?"
"I—"
"It's you, too, Mamo-chan. You need to try to understand them, too." Sailor Moon is looking up at him with the eyes that kill him, strong but sad, and he doesn't know how to respond, so he looks up over her head, and sighs.
"I don't—"
"Please try. Please? Look at me. Promise you'll try, once this is all over?"
He looks down to see that her bright blue orbs have changed to pleading, her eyebrows turned upward slightly, rimpling her forehead and golden crescent tattoo in a cute way; it's a look he can't refuse. He sighs. "Okay. I promise."
She smiles, her eyes turning light again. "Really?"
"Really."
She buries her head in his chest, again, and says quietly, "Thank you. That makes me feel better."
He kisses her head, and they continue walking.
As they reach the second-to-top floor, they can almost make out sounds of battle, which scare her. She stops again, staring off with a horrified look on her face, and a terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Her friends are losing, just as she'd thought.
She doesn't know how this will turn out, and for the first time, her faith her friends is fading. Lucifer is just too strong.
"Mamo-chan," she says.
Tux takes her other hand, drawing her close to him. When she's close enough, he wraps his arms around her waist. "Yes?"
"I don't know what's going to happen to us up there. Can you kiss me?"
Tuxedo Mask relaxes. Her fears were similar to his, but he had been hiding it so that she didn't feel even more scared. He's good at hiding things.
He places one hand on her face and leans in, pressing his lips to hers. She locks her arms around his neck, bringing herself closer to him. She moves her lips against his, and he presses one hand against the small of her back. The hand on her face moves back to the nape of her neck, and she tightens her arms.
She's standing on the very tip of her toes, as high as she can be. Even with her heeled boots, she isn't tall enough. She couldn't get close enough to him to be satisfied. She loves him so much, her love for him just about swallows her whole being. When she has to pull away to breathe, he doesn't stop. He kisses her face, her jaw, her ear, her neck. They move to a wall, and she is pressed up against it. Her heart racing, she brings his face back to hers, and with a new ferocity, he kisses her passionately.
They hardly ever kiss like this. He must be just as scared as she.
Tuxedo Mask doesn't mean to kiss her so deeply. He doesn't mean to press her against the wall, possibly scaring her. He can't help it. He just loves her so much. And, if he's honest, he's scared too. They could both die in that battle upstairs, without having expressed their love since before any of this happened. As he recalls, she'd gotten mad at him for something, but he can't remember exactly what it was right now. He's too busy loving her.
Though she won't admit it, not even to herself, Sailor Earth wishes that her brother hadn't left with Sailor Moon. Then maybe they'd have a fighting chance.
In short, the odds of "good conquering evil" in this case don't look so great.
Saturn is unconscious, and Neptune and Pluto are protecting her. Uranus and Jupiter are fighting with their muscles as much as their magic, so they're more worn out than the rest of them. Mercury is calculating, look for a way to defeat Lucifer while Mars and Venus protects her. Earth and Sun are doing their best, but it's a little hard when you've been in and out of your own body or had someone else in your body at the same time as you. At least Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon would probably have a tad more energy since they haven't been fighting as much.
She wonders how Sailor Moon is doing. Did her brother get her to bed like he was told? Is she sleeping well? Is she healthy? Is she alive? Earth hopes the answers to all those questions are "yes".
When Sailor Moon opens her eyes again, she's looking into sapphire. They pull their mouths away from each other, and she realizes that, somewhere along the line, they had become Serenity and Endymion, the king and queen of Crystal Tokyo. Serenity sighs, and hugs Endymion one last time before they continue up. "I love you," she whispers.
"I love you, too, with all my heart and soul."
Serenity smiles. He is still Tuxedo Mask, after all, with his cheesy lines. "Maybe we should go," Serenity says, lines of worry disrupting her smooth face once more.
Endymion purses his lips, and Serenity can tell he doesn't want to. "I don't want to, either, but we have to," she adds.
Endymion hisses. He really doesn't want to go, but knows he should.
"You promised," Serenity reminds him, and he sighs. Then he remembers that Sailor Chibimoon had joined them, and his face falls to despair. "What?"
"Chibiusa's there, too," he says quietly.
"What?!" Serenity shrieks. "How long has she been up there?!"
Endymion winces. She can't tell her it's his fault for being soft. "You didn't see her before?" he asks instead of answering her question.
"No! I didn't!" She sinks to the ground, leaning against the wall, rubbing her forehead to prevent an oncoming headache. "Oh, God…!" she moans.
Endymion sits next to her, placing his arm around her shoulder. "She's a lot stronger than we remember," he points out, hoping to calm her.
"That's not the point," she says, an edge to her voice, then sighs, leaning into him. "I'm sorry. I'm just scared." Her voice breaks on the last word.
He rubs her back soothingly as she burrows into his chest. "It's okay. We'll be okay. I promise. I'm here. I'll protect you."
She sniffs, and begins to sob, making Endymion recoil. He wants to steal away her pain and worry, but he doesn't know how.
A few minutes of this, and Serenity sits up. She sniffs and wipes her nose. "I'm sorry. I'm okay." She looks up to see his face stricken with anguish. "Really. I'm okay now. I just…" She takes a deep breath. "Needed to cry. It's okay now. I haven't been able to cry for a while and that's not good. I'm sorry I ruined your shirt."
He cracks a smile, the kind of smile he uses when he's teasing her. "Anytime. It's here for you to use."
Smiling, she replies, "Shut up."
He stands, and helps her up. "Wanna go up?"
Serenity smile disappears as she remembers just why she'd been crying. "Yeah."
I'm so happy, guys! That last few scenes I did all today! Writer's Block=Gone! :D Oh yeah, and I'm planning on replacing the first 15 or so chapters because they suck :P I go back and read them, and think, "Dude, shut up! Ugh, that's so retarded! Why would you write it like that?! No, that's not how this works!" and so yeah.
