I'm thinking about ending this arc pretty soon. Maybe this chapter or next. We'll see how it works out. Sailor Moon is owned by Naoko Takeuchi, TOEI Animation, and VIZMedia.
Confession: This title may or may not be part-troll-part-quote-from-a-certain-second-opening. (Hint: It's "Sailor Wings" from "Sailor Star Song", and I really wanted it to be the longer "Sailor Wings Really Do Arise From Miracles", but there was a character limit and yeah. No, it's not Sailor Moon made into Buffalo Wild Wings' famed chicken wings.)
IMPORTANT Notes: Oh yeah, and this chapter gets kind of religious, so if you want to skip anything, feel free. I'll be sure to explain parts if necessary :3
The Princesses names are:

"What did you do to her?!" Serenity yells, angry. "What did you do to Haru-chan, you lousy cretin?!"
"I simply played with her mind, that's all. Nothing wrong with a little fun, is there?"
"When it hurts someone, of course it's wrong!"
Lucifer laughs at her and shakes his head like she's a silly child. "Are you not grasping what I've been trying to tell you? I am the Devil. Bringing pain and suffering is what I do."
"Then what do you want with the Silver Crystal?"
"Obviously, I want to crush it."
"You'll never get your hands on it, you filthy monster." Serenity raises the Crystal above her head, shouting, "Neo Moon Power!"
Sailor Earth stands, cradling Sailor Sun in her arms, who had become unconscious. "Neo Earth Power!" she shouts, and a long, dark blue gown flows into existence, clinging to her body flatteringly, sparkling in the light of the Silver Crystal.
Sailor Sun opens her eyes again and groans. "Aki… ra?"
Princess Terra looks down at the girl nestled in her arms and smiles. "Hey, Haru."
"What's going on? Are you wearing a dress? And... makeup?"
Terra looks surprised. "Am I? Ew."
"Anyway, what's going on?" Sun asks as Terra sets her down, but inspects the situation. "I understand now. Neo Sun Power!"
Sun's fuku changes to a sunset-orange, layered gown, her hair falling to thick orange waves to the floor, cleaner than it had been a few seconds ago, and she becomes Princess Solara.
"Neo Mercury Power!"
"Neo Mars Power!"
"Neo Jupiter Power!"
"Neo Venus Power!"
"Pink Moon Crystal Power!"
"Neo Uranus Power!"
"Neo Neptune Power!"
"Neo Saturn Power!"
"Neo Pluto Power!"
Endymion puts his arms up against Serenity's to help her with the Crystal.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's think about this for a second. Isn't this a little one-sided?"
"Not compared to all the crimes you've committed," Serenity retorts.
"Your human laws—"
"Don't apply to you, I know. I'm talking about my laws. You're not human, so I won't feel bad killing you. You're the deity of Chaos, and you are unnatural!"
"Don't you think humans with super powers is unnatural? Half of you have healing or psychic abilities, and the other half have extraordinary intellectual or physical capabilities, or, in some cases, both. Not to mention the fact that you can all morph into superheroines—or superheroes, should you prefer it—and use uncanny skills to defeat all opposing entities. Don't you think that's a little 'unnatural'?"
Serenity sets her jaw. "We are guardians of this solar system, and perhaps this galaxy, and we protect the peace and justice of this society. You are one who disturbs that peace, and we plan to go to any and all lengths to put a stop to your evil deeds."
"As I've stated before, I'm not human. Do you know the story of God and Satan?" He chuckles.
"The story?" Serenity prospects curiously.
"Once upon a time, in a land far, far away," Lucifer proceeds with a grin, "as all good stories begin, right? Yes, in the eyes of most, this is quite a valorous tale to be told, though in mine it is infuriating."
There once was a king, who presided over the kingdom called the Celestial Kingdom. He loved his people, and his people loved him. One day, the king proposed a plan to his people.
"There is a world called Earth," the king said, "and it is a better world for learning than this one. I want you all to go to that world to live, so that you might learn and grow, because I love you."
"You're sending us away because you love us?" one man questioned.
"Learning? Is it going to be hard? Will there be tests?" a child wondered fretfully.
"But I love it so much here! I don't want to leave!" a woman proclaimed.
The king smiled softly at his people. "Yes, it will be very, very difficult, and there will be many tests, but I will help you and guide you along the way, if you will accept my help. You will be able to choose for yourselves, and you may make mistakes, as you won't remember anything from this world. You will begin anew as newborn children, and not all at the same time. When your life there has ended, you will be brought back home and I will have evaluated your overall performance. If you will get to live in this kingdom or one of the neighboring kingdoms depends on that performance. Now, I need a volunteer to help me carry out the plan."
"Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute!" a man with curly black hair accented by icy blue eyes and the face of a cherub exclaimed. "Wouldn't it better if you made the decision for us so that we can all make it back here?"
"But then what would you learn? Nothing, defeating the purpose of sending you all there."
"Let me do it," the man continued, his smile causing his chin and cheeks to dimple, "and I will make sure that everyone makes it back to live here."
"No, Lucifer, I do not like your plan. My will is that you all have free agency, the ability to make a decision for yourself."
Lucifer gritted his teeth. "Come on, it's the perfect plan, and everybody wins!"
The king turned away. "Anyone else?"
Another man stepped up, with wavy, chestnut hair that falls just above his shoulders, facial hair, and hazel eyes. "Father, allow me, for not my will shall be done, but yours only."
The king looked to his son, the prince, and smiled. "Yes, my son, you shall be the one to carry it out."
Lucifer growled. "What?! How can you let Joshua take the lead when I was first?! Are you picking favorites because he's your son?!"
The king looked sadly at Lucifer. "You are all my children."
"He's your only real son. You just created the rest of us."
The king pursed his lips in grief. "Lucifer, if you continue to contend like this, I'm going to have to send you away to That Place."
Lucifer's eyes tightened. "Fine." He turned to the crowd. "But first, I want to see who else agrees with me."
After two beats of silence, the people erupted into mumbled conversations, growing louder and louder until they were shouting, and, just as quickly as before, they fell silent again as one man raised his arm high in the air. The people around him spread out, not wanting to stand next to the rebel.
"I agree with Lucifer, so I will continue with him."
The king's brow furrowed up in bereavement as more and more of his people decided to join forces with Lucifer, until a whole third of his aggregation had joined Lucifer, becoming angrier and more rebellious by the second.
Lucifer grinned. "It's not majority, but it's perfect. I guess we'll be on our way then."
The king looked away as Lucifer and his disciples walked away, to the entrance of Hell, better known amongst the people of the Celestial Kingdom as That Place or Outer Darkness.
When the heavy door shut, the king took a deep breath to dispel his woe, and turned to his people. "Will you all continue on to Earth to fulfill my plan?"
"Yes, our King of Salvation!"
"And so," the present-day Lucifer says with a sneer, "that is how I ended up as I am today. And you wanna know who that first man to join me went on to become?"
"Who?" Serenity asks warily.
Lucifer guffawed. "His name was once Jonathon, but after some time and evolution, he took on the name Chaos, meaning anarchy or discord."
"Why is this the first time we're hearing of this?!" Princess Varuna, once Sailor Uranus, inquires with frustration.
"Because you were never in the Celestial Kingdom. Your Celestial Kingdom was the Silver Millenium. I suppose that would be why you all are different from other people."
"What are you saying?" Serenity asks.
"You are not the same type of humans as every other person on this earth. They are homo sapiens, while you lot are homo lunari. That's what gives you your special powers."
"But what about me and Endymion?! We were born on Earth, just like everyone else!" Terra points out, becoming jaded.
Lucifer shakes his head. "No, the Silver Millenium took place long before the Celestial Kingdom had become a conceived thought." He laughs once without humor. "Do you understand now why I want you destroyed? The restoration of the Silver Millenium will completely ruin every plan I have of reclaiming my glory."
Serenity squints at Lucifer, as if by doing so she could see his mentality in a nicer light. "Wha—"
Before she can process it, she finds herself thrown out the nearby window, literally, and plummeting to her death, letting out a scream so blood-curdling and terrified at how fast and free she's falling that she can almost hear it above the wind thrashing in her ears and hair and the thudding of her heart and the rush of her thoughts moving so fast she can't grab onto one.
Well, scratch that. There is one.
Somebody, save me!
As Serenity plunges through the air—which seems to be getting thicker and thicker as she falls, but maybe it's her imagination—that is the only thing she can think, but, as her mind moves faster and faster, black spots cover her vision and she grows dizzy, until she can't keep her eyes open, and becomes unconscious.
In the same instant, Lucifer disappears, Serenity is flung out the window and Endymion jumps after her, obviously not thinking about the fact that he can't fly.
Well, crap.
Terra grits her teeth. How can my brother be so stupid?! she thinks to herself in a rage, screaming gutturally.
She feels a hand on the arm trying to tear her short hair out, and looks to Solara standing next to her, her face a clean slate, staring at Lucifer. She shakes her head slightly, and Terra knows what she means. You'll never accomplish anything with a temper like that, and she glances at Jose, reminded of what he taught them.
She takes a deep breath. "Jupiter, Uranus, and Jose, come with me and we will secure the landing of those two. The rest of you stay here and work to defeat that jerk." She turns and kisses Solara. "I'll be right back," she says with a smirk.
"You'd better be," Solara replies, her crimson eyes shining with tears unshed.
There is a point in everyone's lives where they long for the ability to fly, to possibly sprout wings that could take them wherever they wished. Usually, this point is around the age of 7.
This point is the age of 24 for a certain man who is currently falling from a large building, the whereabouts of the ground of which he hasn't the faintest clue.
With purpose, might he add, did he jump from the building, said purpose not suicidal, but instinctive—the instinct to protect his beloved.
"Usako!" Endymion screams as he descends rapidly through the air, only thinking of reaching her, and yet again he is rendered useless. If only there was a way that he could be more supportive and offensive in battle, then maybe this situation would turn more favorably.
If only he had wings.
He imagines them as though he were twenty years younger—a time he does not remember but can only imagine—great, big wings that could take to the skies at breakneck speeds, maybe even ebony in color, with feathers. He imagines them suddenly budding from his shoulder blades, saving his life as well as the love of his life.
He prays for salvation, as it could not come by his hand—however could it? He has little to none of the enchanting talents that the other warriors bare, even Jose, the boy who had trained and protected Usagi and his sister from afar while they were away.
Just a little closer, he thinks to himself, reaching his arms out as far as possible to reach Serenity, who must be unconscious as her screaming stopped a long time ago. His fingertips brush her waist, and he walks them along it to bring her closer, eventually close enough to wrap his arms around her protectively, squeezing his eyes shut as he prays.
As soon as he does so, he seems to stop. In shock, he opens his eyes. No, he hadn't stopped. He was floating. Gliding.
Flying.
Do you guys, like, recommend my story to other people? Because if you do, I'd like if you mentioned that the first 15 chapters aren't as great as the more recent chapters so that your friends aren't like "ew what is this crap ugh no". Tinks :3
