Sailor Moon is owned by TOEI Animation, Naoko Takeuchi, and VIZMedia and somebody told me that you had a boyfriend that looked like the girlfriend that I had in February of last year. It's not confidential. I got potential. ba-wump-ree-nowr-wah-nowr-nowr-nowr.
Notes: This chapter feels short to me, maybe because there's only two scenes, but I was having a good day today, so have a second chapter :3
Confession: Because of marching band, I have a weird tan (ie, my right arm is tanner than my left arm o_O)
Endymion examines his back to find the wings he had imagined, strangely, mounted there majestically, and he stares in wonder. How did those get there?
Then he gets a better look at his clothes—a black tuxedo shirt, black jacket with long, black coat tails with a white lining, a white bowtie, black slacks, and white and black saddle shoes. He wears a white hat with a black, satin band, and a black, feathered mask. He notices that Serenity is also wearing a different dress, one made of white feathers and a high-low hem, the inside of which was black satin. The top hem was a low v-neck type collar, and strapless. A black, satin ribbon was tied around her waist, the bow on her side. She also had majestic wings, these being white in color. Her hair is white, almost silver, and she seems to be glowing, almost, as if she were a light emanating a soft radiance.
"Usako," he says, hoping to stir her. "Usako. Please wake up." He kisses her softly, and when he pulls back, her eyes flutter. Once fully open, his breath catches in his throat. Her eyes are a strikingly bright blue, like the sky on the most beautiful, cloudless day, and her thick, black eyelashes glitter silver.
"Mamo-chan?!" she says in surprise that almost sounds grateful. Before he can respond, she wraps her arms around him, burying her head in his chest, and sobs. "I was-s-s-s—so-o-o-o sca-a-a-ared!"
He places his arms protectively around her bare back, and he notices he wears white gloves with an onyx jewel in the middle with a black feather extending back from it. He rubs her back in a comforting manner "It's okay, I'm right here, my love."
"Th-th-th-thank yo-u-u-u-u."
After a few minutes, she pulls away, and, wiping her nose, looks back up at him. To his surprise, the tears did nothing to deduct her goddess-like beauty. Her eyes were just as stunning as they had been before, stopping his heart, and he has to wonder:
Is this the true beauty of Serenity?
"Wow…" he mutters, staring at her in awe.
"What?"
"It's just that— Wow, you're gorgeous."
Her face flushes, and she looks away, breaking his heart. He wanted to look at her more. He wants more. He wants her more.
He pulls her up to his face and kisses her, pressing his lips to hers in a normal kiss, but it lasts for a while.
When they pull away, Serenity looks up at him from under her thick eyelashes. "Am I really that pretty?"
He shakes his head. "No. 'Pretty' does not begin to express how you look right now."
She purses her lips, and he knows what that means.
She doesn't believe him, and that breaks his heart more than her looking away from him.
"No, Usako, you have to believe me. If this were seven years ago before we even knew each other existed, I would still say that, right now, you look exquisitely beautiful. You have to believe me when I tell you: you're gorgeous."
She looks up at him, and he has to close his eyes, because, as much as he doesn't want to, her beauty is too much for his heart to handle.
"Why won't you look at me, then?"
"Because I can't. If I did, I think I might start to cry."
"You're exaggerating. I can't be that beautiful."
"I'll prove it to you," he says, and opens his eyes again. His chest aches once more. He forces himself to stare into her eyes, taking in their beautiful, perfectly-blue shade. His breath trembles as his glance move from her blue eyes, to her round, pink cheeks, to her full, shell-pink lips, slightly parted as she studies his reaction.
As he predicted, his eyes well up, and he has to take off his mask to wipe them.
"I told you I would cry," he says, his voice slightly thick.
When she doesn't respond, he follows her line of sight. "Where are we?" she says finally.
He replaces his mask. They appear to be in the sky, but it's all wrong. The clouds are cotton-candy-pink and the sky is sunshine-yellow. Good, he thinks. He doesn't think he can handle the blue now anyway. It would probably be shameful to him anyway, as Serenity's eyes are much more beautiful.
"I'm not sure. Maybe… Maybe we're in Heaven?" he guesses.
"You think we're dead?"
"I hope not. But, should that be the case… I mean, you're here, and you're a pretty good person."
She smiles, and her teeth are pearly-white, perfectly straight. "What's that supposed to mean? You're a good person."
Endymion remembers the conversation they'd had before any of this happened, and a rock falls to the bottom of his stomach. "Remember what we were talking about before? Remember how I didn't get to finish?"
Serenity looks away, and Endymion regrets saying that. "Sorry," she says quietly.
"Sorry," Serenity mutters, remembering how she'd acted just before they'd gone to Hell. She still hates herself for that.
"No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have…" He sighs in exasperation. "Sorry. I'm an idiot sometimes."
"I can be a… a bitch sometimes. Like then. That was just me being… yeah."
"I don't think so. I think you were just—"
"There's no excuse. What I said was wrong, to you and to Seiya-kun, and I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."
Endymion laughs once without humor. "Hun, I forgave you a long time ago. A long time ago. The only person who needs to forgive you now is you. You're just wasting your breath if you say sorry to me." She quickly swipes at her face. "Look at me, Serenity." Her head snaps up at the formal name, and he places his hands on her shoulders. "I need you to know something. I need you to know that I will love you no matter what, if you look like this or if you just got off your third shift and you've taken off all your makeup, or if you're Sailor Moon, or normal Usako, or, God forgive me, if you're naked.
"I love you, Usagi, more than anything on Earth or the galaxy, and I need you to know that, no matter what, I'll stand with you and do anything I can to please you and protect you because I love you and there is not a thing in the universe that can change that. I really need you to know that because I don't think you understand how much I really and truly love you. It hurts to love you at times, because it feels like my heart will literally explode. I need you to know that that is why August twenty-first is a day that I simply cannot wait for. It's not until then that I can truly consider you mine, and frankly, I've been holding back. What happened in the corridor while we were moving to the top floor to join the battle… that wasn't even close to how I feel about you. I need to warn you that our honeymoon will hold the least amount of sleep that you've had in your life, because, over the past six years, I've not been able to fully express how I feel. At all. Not even a fraction. By the way, I've stopped caring about whether it's okay to love you as much as I do, because I don't know what I'd do if it wasn't. I'm sorry if this is a lot that I haven't said, but I've been holding it in for too long and I can't anymore. I'm sorry."
Serenity looks at him in awe. Endymion has never been a man of many words, and what he does say is usually poetic and cheesy or intellectual, but either way, it's usually somewhat difficult for her to understand. Never before has he been so blunt, and never before has he said exactly what's on his mind. Tears slip down her face, but she doesn't care. This is a person that she's cried in front of many times, and she stopped caring about that. But that's not the point. This is overwhelming, mainly because she always wondered if he even loved her as much as she him. She can tell from his strong eyes, even through his mask, that he is being completely serious and honest. She can tell that it's possible that he loves her more than she him. That he loves her at all is still a fact she has to get used to. She felt insecure about his affection these past three years, but now she knows, as he wants her to know, that he loves her. Not just admiration, or adoration, but romantic love.
"You have to tell me what you're thinking though. You can't just stare at me like that and expect me to not start to feel self-conscious after saying all that," he says finally.
She swallows and takes a deep breath. How is she supposed to respond to that? She's not really good at elaborating, and she can't respond with simple things like "thank you" and "I love you, too." That would probably hurt.
"You know," she starts warily, "how insecure I've felt for these three years? Not knowing whether I had a home and family to come back to? So for you to say that…" She takes another deep breath and can't help but smile. "I am overjoyed, Mamoru, that you would say that, because I have been unsure of myself, and you, for that long. Honestly, I have. I'm sorry for it, but I have. I'm really happy now, though the word 'happy' doesn't begin to express my feelings. For all this time, all six years, I feared in the deepest pit of my heart that you might leave me for someone more sophisticated and mature, and maybe that's because of… what happened when we first met Chibiusa, but now, I know for sure. I know that that doesn't seem like a lot, but it is to me, and I finally feel absolutely at peace and do you know how good that feels?"
Endymion smiles, looks down at his shoes, and then back up at her. "You how bad I want to kiss you right now?"
"Why not?"
He shakes his head. "No, remember what I said about the intensity? Since we're not quite married yet, I still need your permission. I haven't asked before because I haven't had the guts. I need you to know what you're getting into first, because the things on my mind right now are… less than honorable."
Serenity swallows, but smiles. "If I don't like it, I'll tell you."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Okay." Endymion moves forward, moving the hands on her shoulders to just under her armpits, placing his thumbs between her skin and the satin of the inside of her dress. "Last chance."
"I'm not backing off yet, am I?"
"Okay."
"What happened to them?" Terra demands to know. "One second, they're falling to their death, the next, they're gone."
"We don't know exactly how tall this building is, so maybe they're still falling. We don't even know where we are, much less where they could possibly be. This place could be warped," Varuna points out.
Terra, Varuna, and Hera are guarding one side of the large building called Hell while Jose takes the other side. So far, neither side has had any luck.
"This dress is so inconvenient. How are we supposed to fight in these?" Terra wonders.
Hera shrugs. "I've always liked my dress, so I don't have a problem with it, but you're right, it does obstruct movement. The fuku are designed for combat, but I think we might be more powerful in these forms."
Terra tries to walk quickly to see if she can get a better look, but ends up tripping and falling, scraping her hands. "Goddammit!" she hisses. From her breast, she pulls her "handy dandy" Holy Solar Sword shard, and cuts along the side hem of her dress from the bottom to the top of her thigh, then on the other side to match. She tightens the laces of her new, knee-height, blue boots.
She looks up again, noting somewhere in the back of her mind that there must not be any real light here, because she doesn't have to squint.
She sees Hera tense up, and looks at her strangely. "What?" Terra questions.
"Am I the only straight person in this group?"
Terra and Varuna exchange glances, then burst out laughing. After a bit of this, Terra wipes her eye. "Oh, man! Is that what you're worried about?! Ha ha ha ha, ah ha ha ha ha ha! Honey, even if I were attracted to you, not saying you're not good-looking, but even if I were, I have Haruko and I'm not planning on ruining that. So you're golden."
"It's the same thing here. And besides…"
"We only like cute girls," Varuna and Terra say together.
"No offense or anything, just pure fact," Terra states, continuing to look up for her brother and future sister-in-law. She takes a deep breath. "So. Now that that's out on the table, we should try to brainstorm an idea on how to find those two."
The beginning part of this chapter was just something I've been wanting to write for a while, and the second part was just for giggles c:
