The King: My vacation procrastinating on this story is over. Now I will get this story moving again in the right direction. That I assure you. Remember I own nothing.
Chapter 9
Thank you Notch (Thanksgiving Chapter)
A flash of light appeared in the guardians chamber near the pool of visions. When it faded there stood Steve. He took a breath and exhaled. His mind had been cleared of the confusion that came to him at the labyrinth. He turned to a window in the room and looked out it. Out side the night sky was be lit by the orange of the rising sun.
"I am the Player in his role in the world, the very essence of what Minecraftia hero is supposed to be. Yet though I am coded, I am alive. All of it adds up now. Infinite possibilities of what the Minecraftian can do and become, and each one starts out as a regular individual. This is like reality my reality. It doesn't matter if I'm just a bunch of pixels. What does is that these pixel are a part of me, and without them I wouldn't be living. There are some things that I still don't know but it doesn't matter because it will be answer when the time does come. And when it does I wouldn't even need it since it wasn't important to begin with. Amazing how much it make you feel enlightened, I can feel it."
He kept looking out the window in amazement until something in the sky cause his eye. He squinted to make out what it was. It was a small enderdragon and on top of it looked like a hamster. "What the?" It was beginning to descend as Steve made a break for the door to look for the others. Luckily he found them eating breakfast in the dining hall (Sticking with that). "Guys!"
"Steve your okay!" Notch said. "I thought we lost you. Were you able to you know."
"Yes and that isn't all. But your going to have to wait, I saw something out of a window up there, and I thinks its starting to land. A door opened and in came a the enderdragon with the hamster on its head. "Then again it might already did."
Lewis squinted. "Hammy?" The enderdragon stopped at the table and the hamster was holding something in its mouth.
"Well hello little guy." Simon said, "What are you doing here and what is this you have in you mouth." He took the paper out of the hamster's mouth and unrolled it. "Oh dear."
"What is it Simon?"
"Lewis, something has happened at Yoglabs." He said giving the paper to Lewis. As Lewis read the paper his face turned slightly pale and showed shock.
"Yoglabs is under sieged! But by who, and better yet what do they want with our labs?"
Steve remember something that Ignitus told him making him asked, "You don't do any testing with Nuclear type mods do you."
Lewis face became even more pale. "Oh no... y-you don't mean." Steve nodded. "OH GOD NO!"
"No matter what we still need to stop him Lewis." Simon said.
"Simon, this guy is trying to blow up the world, how the hell are we suppose to get in, they would likely..." Lewis was saying then was being shook by Simon.
"LEWIS I DON'T CARE IF HE HAS A GIANT LAZER OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! WHAT I CARE ABOUT IS THAT MY STACHE OF SPECIALLY AGED TO PERFECTION LIMITED EDITION WHITE CHOCOLATE COVERED JAFFA CAKES HASN'T BEEN TAMPERED WITH! NOW GET YOURSELF TOGETHER OR SO HELP ME I'LL... (CENSORED)" Everyone in the cafeteria was looking over at this their now.
Lewis stared at Simon for a couple of seconds then said, "Looks like your hangover is over. Wait a minute..." He then turned to Steve, "How did you know that we had Nuclear technology there."
"Yeah about that, see what happened last night, I got sent to some bizarre place. When I was there this dragon I met said that Ender had revived "You know who" and is planning a war on two fronts." Steve said, now everyone staring at him.
"You mean the Chronicler told you this?" Spyro said.
"Oh yeah, he also says that Ignitus says hi."
Suddenly Spyro jumped Steve and forced him to the ground, "HE'S ALIVE!? DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME THAT YOU ARE PULLING MY LEG! HE'S THE CHRONICLER NOW!?"
"Well you seem excited about this. Mind getting off of me?" Spyro moved off of him allowing him to get up.
"So what do you recommend we do about it old boy?" GameChap asked.
"We'll need to hold off on the next blade until this crisis has been avoid." Steve said.
"Yeah but "you know who" back its going to be difficult to stop his army again. He almost wipe our species off the planet. My race." Spyro said.
"Spyro we're going to need to break it to every one."
"We can't, they'll react horribly to the news, let alone if it was a joke. This room will be filled with panic and dragons jumping out the windows if we even mutter the words, "Malefor is back!"." He just realized what he had done. "Oops"
"Malefor!?" A dragon cried.
"He's back!?" Another cried.
"Quick somebody bury your gold and get some foil on your heads!" A third yelled. Screaming began to happen and people were running around in circles.
"Me and my big mouth." Spyro said.
Suddenly the place was completely empty. "You certainly know how to clear out a room." Cyril said.
Everyone turned to see the guardians coming in. "Sorry it just slipped out."
"I know but it had to be done."
"You knew this would happen?"
"Yes plus we heard Steve was running out of our chambers to get down here. So we suspected something."
"We've couldn't locate the Flamberge of Convexity a.k.a. the next blade."
"Just our luck, there's a war coming and we still haven't found the second blade."
"Fret not there might still be a way to locate it. There's a mole that might be able to tell us where it might be."
"One problem, we have three dilemmas on our hands. These dragons are now out of control because Malefor is back, the threat of nuclear annihilation is present, and we have a timespan of four days until Armageddon." The young enderdragon replied.
"Is he also a man trapped in an enderdragons body?" Herobrine asked.
"No he is a genetic offspring capable of speech, have you any idea what we have in there?" Lewis said.
"This is going far beyond the definition of the word crisis, now it's a omnipotent monolithic movement for of world domination that the only way to describe it in short hand terms would mean that I would have to come up with an entirely new word." Volteer said.
"I think the word you are searching for is illuminati." Simon said.
"We're going to have to break into a couple of teams. Simon, Lewis, GameChap, Bertie, Spyro, you guys need to go settle the hijacking. Everyone else will need to stay here and get these dragons into fighting shape." Steve said. "They'll need to be prepared for anything."
"Got it, we'll leave immediately." Lewis said.
As they got up from the table Notch turned to Steve, "I would like to have a quick word with you Steve." He motioned Steve to follow him.
"It's good to see that you're still with us Steve." He said as walked along with him up a flight of stair.
"I understand it now Notch. Everything is clear now." Steve said.
"Even though you know that you're world is a video game, you came to terms with it, and in the end you're world is real, if you believe it's real, because you are a part of that world, and an the entirety of it lives in the you and the players."
"It's so deep, and surpasses regular comprehension."
As they reach the top of them and began walking down a hall, "I know it does Steve... I know it does." He paused at the end of the sentence and sighed.
"Is something the matter Notch?"
"Steve, something has come up... and it involves me." He stopped at an opening of a landing platform, "Last night, me, Jeb, and Dinnerbone received a message from anonymous source when you were gone. It is time for me to step down and close the door."
"Huh?"
"My company has been bought by Microsoft, my work is starting to get out of hand. I didn't want to do it, but I was starting to go insane. I know they say to learn from your past, but after everything that has been happening in my world, I can just can't keep up. I'm going to be leaving your world in a while and I won't be returning ever. At least I was able to have you know the truth about this world before I had to."
"Where will you go?"
"Steve..." Notch paused again, "... for once in my life I don't know where to go from here. My world is more complex than yours Steve, my path is a mystery's mystery, whatever that means."
"Notch you helped me, now I will help you."
"No Steve, this is a path I must walk alone. I need to find the way myself."
"I understand Notch." Steve said starting to tear up.
Notch looked up at the sun through the passage way, "I have to go now Steve. Jeb and Dinnerbone will still be here to help you for the time being, I do not know if they will leave as well. As for your brother, tell him the same thing, he'll need to know."
"Notch..."
"Yes Steve?"
"...Thank you. Thank you for everything."
Notch stared at Steve and slowly smiled, "You're welcome Steve."
He walked out to the end of the landing platform and turned around to Steve, "Good bye Steve." His sentence ended his body slowly became bright, he was now a glowing orb of light, it shoot straight up into the sky and disappeared within the clouds.
"Good bye Notch."
The King: This chapter was made as a tribute to Minecraft creator Markus (Notch) Persson. After Mojang being bought out by Microsoft. He was a great wonder to indie developers everywhere, bringing creativity back into the game world through building blocks. The mark he has left is legendary along with a world record being broke for the longest beta test in gaming, and references to Minecraft littered among youtube videos and TV Shows. It has gone so far that a movie is now about to be made about the game. It is unknown what he will go on to now, but know this, whatever he does do, no matter what it is going to be, it will be as awesome as what he has left behind. He's work is not done yet, it has only just begun.
