Chapter 10
Doctors and Mentors Part 1
Dragons, Cheetahs and moles have been gathered from through out the city and have been brought to the front of the tower. Everyone was murmuring about what was going on. Several were still shocked by what they heard in the tower's cafeteria. A small stage was set up out side the door.
"Let's hope this goes in our favor guys, the last thing these guys need is another war but it looks like they don't have a choice anymore." Steve said. With that he got on top of the stage, "Good morning everyone, many of you may not know me, my name is Steve, I have some bad news to report. Now those of you that were in the cafeteria earlier may have heard it already, but those that didn't and are now hearing rumors I am sad to say that those rumors are true. Malefor has returned." By the end of that sentence what was murmuring turned in to a wild commotion.
"QUIET!" Steve yelled then said, "Look I understand that this is really bad, but freaking out and going off the walls aren't going to change anything. You can't just believe that you will not be able to stand up to him."
"But we can't stand up to him!" A random dragon yelled.
"That's what you think!"
"No he right!" Another dragon yelled, "If we face him, he'll kill us."
"Same thing will happen if you don't! Listen I may not be know what he's capable of but I'm damn well not going to put up with it. I know you all have crossed paths with this ruthless dark master in the past and he had caused a mass genocide of your race and you know that. I know things look bleak at the moment, but seriously you need to get a grip. You've seen what happened here yesterday with the apes. Although me and my friends were able to fight them off I have a hunch that they are sure to be back and in greater numbers. You need to prepare for the worse every day."
"Well how will that keep us from getting killed." A third dragon yelled.
"It won't, but it will keep you from that fate a bit longer. Let me tell you something, when a Minecraftian like me comes in to the world they are somewhere in wilderness defenseless. No armor, no food, and the only weapons that we have are our fists. We only have a certain amount of time before night comes and if we're like that by the time the sunsets we're screwed. So what do we do? We make that time count! We scramble to get wood, make tools, find some coal or make some charcoal, and then we start building a makeshift shelter for us to safe in. Now it isn't that reliable, but at least were not out in the open where there are zombies, skeletons, giant spiders, skeletons riding those giant spiders, it doesn't matter what is out there. What does matter is that you made sure that you could be safe from harm. If a minecraftian can last through out the night, they are rewarded by getting to watch those zombies and skeletons burn. Why are they burning? Because the sun came up. Now you have to prepare for the next night. Lather, rinse, and repeat. Is it tiring, yes. Will we get the chance to sleep, yes but that's not the point. What is the point is to start preparations for the worst. But you aren't alone this time around. We are going to get through this, but we can't if you don't take action. Now go all of you, get this city locked down before it is too late!"
Once he finished commotion flourished through the streets this time with determined citizens.
"That should keep them busy." Spyro said, "I just hope it will be enough for them to handle."
"I had my doubts about this Spyro, I didn't really believe they would go for it. How they react over the topic of Malefor is a bit overboard." Steve said, "All the guardians told me was that he tried to commit a genocide of the entire dragon race and then destroy the world."
"Yeah they kind of leave out some of the details about Cynder and Me sometimes."
Steve thought in silence for awhile then said, "Does some of it have to do with what you did on that night when the city was being attacked by that giant Zombie?"
"That says a little bit about it. I forgot to even explain it didn't I."
"I'm not sure you did."
"Well it has to do with Malefor's power, Its dark, evil, and it consumes you if you're not careful. Cynder was consumed entirely. People used to call her "The Terror of the Skies". Reason why is because well... we're around the same age but at the time the dark power kind of caused her to transform into what she would look like as adult. Also I think I remember sparx saying she looked sexy." Spyro stopped for a minute, "Heh, I hate to admit it he was right about it."
"Heh heh, Well you'll be seeing her again soon."
"Anyway I was able to stop her from releasing Malefor and she reverted back to normal, but it didn't stop him from coming. Like I said it's a long story but I assure you that Malefor is a force to be reckoned with. He won't go down lightly."
"Then we need ahead on the problem at hand. You guys ready yet?" Steve said as they were about to enter the café.
"Almost, Dwarfy just has to get his act together first, I think he gone a little crazy about the Yoglabs thing."
"How crazy are we talking?"
Spyro responded by opening the door to the café allowing the obnoxious voice of Simon through. They looked in to see he clothed in a green helmet and uniform with a medal. He was holding what looked to be some short whip of some kind.
"Oh boy, he's lost it hasn't he. Only some one like him would dress up as a general at this time. I'm starting to see why Notch had a little thing against him."
"Speaking of Notch we're is he anyway?"
Steve voice sagged a bit and he said with a sigh, "He'll not be joining us for the rest of the way. He's gone back to his world."
"Oh..." Spyro said trying to process the information, "Well... that's a shame I'm sorry Steve."
"It's fine it's fine. It's just... kind of what happened with you in a way Spyro."
"It kind of is isn't it."
"Although I don't think that we are ever going to be hearing from him again."
"On the contrary, we still have Jeb and Dinnerbone. Oh that reminds me Jeb has been wanting to give you something. I'm not sure what it is but I think it is related to Notch."
"If I see them I'll ask."
"Now if you can excuse me I have to go endure more of you know who and his little army talk. But can I get you anything? This maybe the last we see each other for the time being."
"No I'm fine I just need some time to myself that's all."
"Okay you just chill off."
"I will."
"Okay... Bye."
Steve sighed, "Unless Notch told him it before he left, this isn't going to easy to explain to Herobrine."
Meanwhile...
"Congratulations you succeeded in blazing through our 12-hour marathon." Steambath said, "Yet there is still is a lifetime left to go!"
"For Pete sake stop with this already!" Toby yelled.
"Oh you wish to stop? Well I guess I am getting a little tired of such barbarian warfare. Very well you may turn in for now." He turned to one of his henchmen, "Make sure their cells are accommodated for there... mmm... bodies."
"I'll make sure they get settled in real nicely."
"And while your at it bring prepare to get that confounded black beast shipped and bring that scoundrel that spit upon my face to the... Biology Department."
"The Biology Department?"
"Yes the Biology Department, I have something in mind that will clearly elaborate the message that you should never ever interfere with the plans of a reanimated monarch."
"Okay you blockheads heard the man, let's get these chumps to their cells." The henchman said to the other goons.
"Finally, I thought they would never give us a break." Sky said.
"Well they still are regular Minecrafters at the end of the day." Seth said.
A door opened up and a voice called out, "Come on I ain't got all day. Let's move it."
"Here's our escort party, we better not keep them waiting." Sparkles said.
"They seem to be letting them out." Lox said.
"Yeah but I sense their coming for you next." Cynder said, "I hope they don't have an idea of how to send me back to Ender at the moment. I really don't want to see Malefor's face again."
"Malefor?"
"I... have a dark past with him... one that I'm not really proud of."
"Well... I'm not looking forward to what that grieffer has in store for me. From how he talks I think there is going to be some sort of mad scientist theme."
"We're just going to need to hold out for a while longer, the rest of the team will figure out how to get back at these guys."
Suddenly the cell opened and the guard pointed at Lox, "You come with me."
Meanwhile...
Steve ran up the stairs into Jeb's and Dinnerbone's room, "You guys wanted to see me."
"Yes Steve," Jeb said, "It is a very important matter, it is about Notch."
"You have seen his departure," Dinnerbone said, "I'm sure he explained to you why he left."
"Yeah he did. Well sort of."
"He certainly was a good friend, but game designers need to roam free," Jeb said, "The choice he made was his though, and you can't change it."
"We are still going to rid this world from Ender though," Dinnerbone said. "Me and Jeb have been working on a secret project, and we believe it is time you got to know about it."
"It is time you learned some proper sword techniques. Ender is getting smarter each day and we need to be able to combat against him."
"We also wanted to give you this." Dinnerbone handed Steve a white shield with the Mojang logo in the middle, "A sword may not be enough Steve, It would be best to defend yourself as the days go by. We have no clue to where the next blade will be yet, but once we do we need to take on whatever Spyro's world has to throw at us."
"Sorry I'm late," An unfamiliar voice said. Steve turned around to see a man wearing glasses who seem to be in his 60's or 70's.
"Steve," Jeb said, "Meet your new mentor, Bill Gates."
