Chapter 11

Doctors and Mentors Part 2

"This is apparently where the mole resides," Cyril said. The residence was a pawnshop with apartments above. A sign covered the window saying, "Buy, Sell, mostly Buy."

Cyril knocked on the door. "Who's there? Store don't open until noon!" A gruff voice yelled from inside.

"It would more convenient if you opened a tad bit earlier today. We're the guardians, we would like to asked you some questions."

"Oh nice try, but I been around that bush before kid and I'm not going to fall for it."

"This isn't a joke," Terrador Yelled, "Open up!"

"Wait a minute I know that voice," The door slightly opened, eyes peaked out of the darkness to see Terrador behind Cyril, "Oh my bad, I thought it was those trouble makers from down the street. Come in, just don't touch anything."

The store shelves were covered with antiques, artifacts, and weapons. A small safe could be seen behind the counter on the wall. "So," the mole said walking around the counter, "What brings you guardians here?"

"We deem you are in possession of an atypical rapier that exudes an aberrant authoritative oomph." Volteer said.

This caused Cyril to give himself a face palm then said, "What he means that we are looking a unnatural blade known as The Flamberge of Convexity."

"Flamberge of Convexity," The mole scratched his head, "I'm not sure what that is. But I have plenty of flamberges available for purchase, but I doubt that is what you came here for."

"No it wasn't, but may I ask has anyone in your family treasure hunted?"

"Well my father was the only treasure hunter in the home, but he has long since retired. I'm still trying to sell the stuff he brought back from his travels."

"Where exactly is your father?"

"In a better place. He died during the war."

"Oh… I'm sorry for your lost. Did he leave anything in his will?"

The mole shot a look of distaste, "Excuse me but that is private, what in the world do you think you will find in his will?"

"Your father's will might just hold a clue of where the flamberge is, and your family's heritage is our only lead in finding it."

The mole chuckled, "I didn't quite figure you guardians as treasure hunters."

"We're not," Terrador said, "Its just important that we get it as fast as soon as possible."

The mole sighed, "Might as well let you take a look it over, but I want it back the instant you're done with it." He pulled open a drawer from beneath the counter and pulled out a key, brought it over to the safe, unlocked it, and pulled the will out.

"Thank you for your connivance," Cyril said.

"Eh, anything for the guardians," The mole said placing the will on the counter, "My father left a cryptic message on the back, ciphers aren't really my thing."

"Then it might take awhile for us to crack it. Rest assured we will bring it back."

"Okay, nice doing business with you."

Meanwhile…

"You're going to be my new mentor?" Steve asked then turned to Jeb and Dinnerbone, "Not to be rude or anything but is this really necessary."

"To be fair I was going to be your mentor, it just wasn't to be possible after what has happened," Jeb said, "Sorry Steve, he's taking the reins now."

"It's just doesn't seem right though. Notch taught me so much already."

"Steve," Bill said causing him to turn back, "I might not seem like much to you but I've have had years of experience. Just trust me you'll see that I can make you better than you already are."

"Look sir, I really don't need this."

Bill pushed his glasses back, "Are you sure about that? Do you even know how to use a shield, or even duel wield two swords without cutting yourself?"

"Sort of, I mean I'm pretty safe already."

"Kid I heard about that fight you and that purple dragon had with the Wither, the only way you were able to win that fight was your determination, but it was only by pure luck that you were able to get out of that situation alive."

Steve cringed a bit, "Okay your might be right about that, I nearly lost Notch when we had escape that place when it was crumbling."

"All a better reason to practice a bit more. Come with me to the training room there is much to do."

*Transition!*

"Okay Steve now before I get into anything, I need to know what I am working with. Take out that bedrock sword." Steve pulled out his sword, and bill walked off the training arena, "Now I want you to attack the dummies when they appear. Just do what comes natural."

Three small dummies appear and bolted straight for Steve. Steve charged at the same time. He swung his sword repeatedly at each dummy. Each taking about 5 hits or so before braking apart.

Bill gave himself a face palm, "What was that?!"

"What? Hey I got them didn't I?" Steve asked getting a breath.

"Yes... I know you did but you're not using your sword efficiently enough. The dummies you took on should've been each taken out with one swing. You just can't hit something any which way and hope it will leave a mark."

"Then what do you think I should do?" Still breathing.

"Well first, you better stop waving it around like a feather duster. I mean look at yourself, you're swinging so much you started to sweat and we just started. Steve each swing you make on the battle field could mean life or death. Let's try that again but this time aim for your enemies weak points."

Again three small dummies appeared. Steve noticed the bindings that held together, most were in the lower smaller part of the dummies. One of the dummies jumped at him. Steve ducked right turned and swung at the lower part. The dummy fell into pieces. The other two then jumped. Steve roll and they landed behind him. He quickly turned and with a single swing took out the lower backsides of the two dummies.

"Good now we're getting somewhere," Bill said, "Now let's raise the bar a little and work with something a bit bigger."

Meanwhile...

Cynder now to herself, dozed off and fell asleep in her cell. It was the only thing that she could do when waiting for her time. Upon slumber she fell into a familiar area to her. (*hint hint* You get it if you look at the stupid title)

"It's has been a while Cynder."

She shot here head towards the direction of the voice. The sight nearly brought her to tears, "Ignitus?!"

"Surprised to see me Cynder? Apparently I was chosen to become the next Chronicler." (Is that right? I haven't been typing in a while.)

She bolted right over to him and gave him hug, "You can't believe what I have gone through."

"Oh I know," He said patting her on the back, "This adventure has driven you far from home and Spyro hasn't it."

"Yes it has Ignitus, and it just became worse because Malefor is back."

"Indeed he has, and at such a time. Although it is that Ender character I'm worried about," He said as a book floated in front of them with a page turned to a picture of Ender and Malefor, "Remember what happened the last time some one brought Malefor back, it wasn't good for him. This Ender, death never came."

"Gaul was killed right on the spot. How did Ender manage to get Malefor to join him?"

"I believe he has some sort of connection with Malefor, one that seems to do more with his very essence. Cynder, Malefor never always been evil."

Cynder backed up, "WHAT!? No no no! You have to be kidding me!"

"I reacted the same way when I found out. Apparently he heard about the prophecy he always wanted to do the destroy the world scenario, but it didn't specify what would happen in the aftermath. Being the Chronicler I should know about these things but I'm still limited for some reason. This prophecy on the other hand..."

"Are you saying that Ender is the one responsible for Malefor turn to evil?"

"Why would he be after you? Cynder there could be a domino effect going on here, if Ender's power was needed to change Malefor then some of his power could have slipped into you when you... well..." Cynder lowered her head.

"Oh... right... and not only that this might mean he's after Spyro too since..." Her head shot up, "Oh Ancestors Spyro! Ignitus where is he?! Is he okay?! Does he know you're okay?!"

"Calm down Cynder, if you must know I talked to Steve just awhile ago and told him about what Ender is planning to do. He passed on the message to Spyro and I laughed when he jumped on Steve in excitement, "He smiled but then frowned, "But you are right, some of the dark power within Malefor is in spyro, may I remind you what happened with the giant."

"I don't remember much after it crushed me against the tower, Spyro lost control didn't he."

"From I have gathered I can only say that Ender is more than meets the eye than Malefor. Where's Malefor is the dark master, Ender considers himself to be the dark lord. The only thing that I don't know is how did he get his hands on Malefor in the first place? From what I witnessed is that Israphel conducted the resurrection and he too has also not been toiled with. It just doesn't make any sense."

"Well Ender is a horrible persuader, and I mean that in the evil way. When I was locked in his base..."

"Say no more Cynder," he interrupted, "I over heard that conversation and I was sickened by it. I know your in love with Spyro, and He loves you just the same, but I won't stand for such profanity that attempts to interfere the personal business between dragon and dragoness. Whatever happens within your, and I'm going to be very direct here, quote unquote sex life, is to be enjoyed with the person you love and in your situation you worked perfectly, but beware I knew his intent and he was going to do what he told you."

She blushed, "I had a feeling you would say that."

"In your absence from the main group you've have made some very tough choices and as so has Spyro. He was so upset when you were captured," Ignitus smiled, "Although both of your lucks will be changed for the better, but I'm getting ahead of myself."

Cynder raised a brow (or however you want to say it), "Is there something your not telling me?"

"Cynder, I think it is best to keep it as a surprise. Now I have much more work to do and you need to be getting back to the Labs."

Meanwhile...

Lox was strapped to a table surrounded by numerous tools and knives. The room was pail white and a harsh light shined in his face. Steambath slowly crept up next to his left leg, "Hello miserable prole, are you quite comfy?"

"I was until your ugly mug showed up," Lox said.

"Hmph! No matter," he said, "Your doctor is due shortly."

"We know what your trying to do! Your working with Ender to attack both of our major cities! That's why you were stealing items, and taken over the labs, so you can do as much damage as you can."

"Bah you'd think that wouldn't you," His voice got deeper, "Our plan has nothing to do with destruction of your worlds, its destruction is just a byproduct. This coming war will be start of it all. The start of the end."

Lox's eyes widen, "Did you just get creepier and less funny sounding?"

Steambath hit a button and Lox shot up eye level to his face, "The Bloody Pickaxes are not to be taken lightly, you think you know all when you know not a damn thing. Do you know why?"

"Why?"

"Because the Bloody Pickaxes aren't our real name, it is just a cover up name. Our business in this world is to keep the plan moving, the beings in it mean nothing to us."

"There lives are just playthings to you, you think this is a game?!" Lox raged.

"That's because it is, well sort of. This world of Minecraft is just one of the many within the plane of existence. However the only way to access it for now is by computers."

"You mean this game is real!?"

"Down to the ending narrative, and luckily two worlds merged containing what we need for our war, and these two worlds aren't only going to be only ones affected. This is much bigger than you can comprehend, and one of our greatest subjects is dealing with those pathetic heroes from spoiling our plans."

Lox stared, "Y-your not joking around anymore, who are you and what have you done with Gaylord Steambath!?

He smiled, "Gaylord Steambath? I don't think that name means anything to me now. That person is no more."

"You are one messed up dude! You can't just do this!"

"Oh really, well just wait until your operation then we will see who gets the last laugh. Heh heh heh."

"You can't beat me, no matter what you do!"

He smiled with teeth, "Hmm... That's a shame not even if I do this?" He raised his hand and rammed it into Lox's faced, grabbed and pulled. Out popped a more humanlike resemblance of lox that landed on the floor. The body laid on the table was motion less and the one on the floor was panting hard.

"What the (Bleep). What..." He stared at his character's body, and shot his look back and forth from it to Steambath, "How did... you just... that... what... I... uh..." He past out.

"Well I believe that is enough anesthetic. Now to get rid of the lifeless carcass." He snapped his fingers and the body disappeared instantaneously.
