"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Mercedes, Happy Birthday to you!" The whole club sang in the choir room, while Mercedes sat in the rows. The entire club clapped while Mercedes blew the candles on each individual cupcake.

"Can we eat now?" Brittany asked innocently, even though she already had frosting on her upper lip.

"Sure, everyone, have a cupcake! All credit goes to Quinn!" The club dispersed as they all tried to reach for the biggest and prettiest cakes. Quinn went and took a seat next to Mercedes, needing to tell her important gossip.

"So, what do you wanna tell me?" Mercedes asked matter-of-factly.

"Wha-? Is it that obvious?" Quinn laughed.

"To me it is. Now, spill the beans."

"I kissed him."

"SHUT. UP." She shouted, a gobsmacked expression across her face. "Uhm, Quinn just told me the secret ingredient, super shocker! Sorry everyone, back to your cakes." Mercedes announced, after everyone stared at her outburst. "When?" She asked, turning back to Quinn.

"Last night. Late, last night."

"Oooh, after hours meeting… nice."

"But you can't tell anyone, ok?"

"Ok, but why?"

"Rachel's gonna freak if she finds out I kissed him. She's still mad at me for even talking to the guy."

"Since when do you listen to Rachel? This is your life Quinn."

"I know, but she's really stressed about NYADA, and they're planning the wedding and stuff, I just don't wanna cause a scene. Yet."

"Yet? So you think this could last?"

"I don't know, I mean, I'm never optimistic about these kind of things, but…"

"Aww, I'm gonna be planning your wedding soon enough! Now, tell me the details on this kiss."

"Wedding? I'm not quite there yet, haha. Oh my god Mercedes, this kiss was amazing. I can't even describe it. It was… just magical."

"That's it, you need to see this guy again. When's your next date?"

"I don't know, he drove me home and we kinda just said goodbye."

"Well then, we're just gonna have to pay him a visit."

"When?"

"Tonight."

"Tonight?"

"Yeah, let's go to the bar. Those fake ID's worked to get us in, didn't they?"

"Yeah, but, I don't know, I'm just… scared I guess."

"Well get over it Quinn! Do you wanna see this guy, yes or no?"

"Yes, but-"

"Then that's it. We're going to the bar tonight."

"Hey everyone, we're going out tonight!" Mercedes shouted to the whole club.

Quinn walked nervously into the bar, followed by nearly everyone in the glee club, all looking for a good time. The music boomed through their ears, while the neon strobe lights illuminated their excited expressions.

"Alright everyone, let's have a good time!" Mercedes bellowed, instantly running to the dancefloor. Sam awkwardly followed her, knowing that her groove would start with or without him. Tina grabbed Mike's hand and pulled him in the same direction, ready to show off her boyfriend's kickass dance moves.

"Who's up for shots!" Santana shouted to their rest, and without waiting for answers, skipped over to the bar.

"Quinn, are you coming?" Rachel asked Quinn, who was still most near the door.

"Oh, uh yeah, I'm just going to the bathroom, I'll be there in a sec." And with that, she hurried off to the ladies, needing to make sure she looked her best.

She looked disappointed at her reflection. Sure, she never thought she was the ugliest girl in the world, but compared to some of the girls in the club tonight, she certainly felt it.

She ran her fingers through her hair and applied some more mascara, before sighing and returning to her friends. She didn't say a word, but simply went over to the group and their tray of shots, took one and gulped it down.

"Wow, drinking's starting early tonight." Rachel muttered, as she sipped her orange juice.

"Quinn! Quinn!" Mercedes ran back through the crowd. "It's karaoke night!"

"THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST NIGHT EVER!" Rachel screamed, scaring everybody. Quinn looked around the bar, but couldn't see Puck. So, to calm her nerves, she slurped another shot.

"Can I get you a napkin or something?" A familiar voice chuckled as Quinn wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. She turned and blushed, already feeling like an idiot.

"How are you?" He asked sweetly as he wiped down the bar.

"Good," She replied as casually as she could.

"Quinn, come sing!" Rachel pulled Quinn from the bar and through the crowd. Mercedes was already on the stage, waiting for Quinn and Rachel.

"Rach, I'm not really in the mood-" Quinn started, before being interrupted by the DJ.

"Here we have Mercedes, Rachel and Quinn, singing Good Time!" He bellowed, following cheers from the crowd.

"C'mon, it's fun!" Rachel giggled as she handed Quinn a microphone.

Woah-oh-oh-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
It's always a good time

Rachel nudged Quinn, prompting her to sing immediately.

Woke up on the right side of the bed
What's up with this Prince song inside my head?
Hands up if you're down to get down tonight
Cuz it's always a good time.

Slept in all my clothes like I didn't care
Hopped into a cab, take me anywhere
I'm in if you're down to get down tonight
Cuz it's always a good time

Good morning and good night
I wake up at twilight
It's gonna be alright
We don't even have to try
It's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh

It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time.

Freaked out, dropped my phone in the pool again
Checked out of my room hit the ATM
Let's hang out if you're down to get down tonight
Cuz it's always a good time

Good morning and good night
I wake up at twilight
It's gonna be alright we don't even have to try
It's always a good time.

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time.

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh

It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time.

Doesn't matter when
It's always a good time then

Doesn't matter where
It's always a good time there

Doesn't matter when,
It's always a good time then

It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time.

They each stood, panting for breath, smiling broadly at the crowd. This is what they all loved doing, and to do it with it each other made it more perfect.

"Let's give a big round of applause to Mercedes, Rachel and Quinn!" The DJ shouted, prompting the crowd to cheer again.

"You'd better watch out Berry, if a NYADA scout saw that, I'm pretty sure I'd get your place!" Mercedes giggled as they all walked through the crowd of dancing people.

"In your dreams!" She responded, before seeing Finn. "Finn! Finn! Wasn't I amazing!"

"Ok, who drank all the shots?" Mercedes dead-eyed everyone, while Quinn quickly moved out of sight and to the other side of the bar.

"I didn't know you could sing…" Quinn took a seat and was approached by the very person she'd hoped.

"There's a lot of things you don't know about me." She whispered seductively, moving closer to his face.

"Oh yeah?" He leaned his elbows on the bar, so their faces were extremely close. "I can't wait to find out everything about you." He bit his lip and smiled, and without giving her a chance to respond, whisked off to Mercedes to serve her another tray of shots. Quinn walked back over to her friends, unable to wipe the uncontrollable smile from her face.

"Get some more lip action did 'ya?" Mercedes giggled, right before she took another shot.

"Shutup." She replied through gritted teeth, as Rachel was standing fairly close to them.

"Hey Quinn, can you give me a hand in the storage room?" Puck's voice called from the opposite side of the bar.

"Yeah, sure."

"Hey Jerry, cover me for a while," Puck said to the other bartender, who was far older and scruffier than Puck.

Quinn followed Puck through a series of doors, until they reached a darkened room, full of crates. Still in front of her, Puck reached his hand backwards to find hers and pulled her forward.

"Where are we going?" She asked as they passed boxes and boxes of beer.

"Somewhere more private."

After passing more and more crates and shelves of wine bottles, they reached the wall. He turned her around so her back was pressed against the wall. His left hand rested on the wall beside her head while his right hand was still holding hers. He looked deep into her eyes, and couldn't help but smile.

"You look beautiful today," He whispered, before passionately kissing her before she had a chance to respond. They moved in time together, each savouring each precious second their lips were together.

"Mmmm," She sighed uncontrollably, still keeping her eyes shut while their foreheads rested together. Her heart was beating at a speed she didn't know was humanly possible, her palms were sweating and all previous thoughts swam from her mind.

"I've been waiting all day to do that." He whispered back, not daring to move from their position.

"We should make the most of it then," She threw her arms round his neck, intensifying the kiss and taking it to a whole new level. Seconds, minutes, hours, days even could've passed, but neither of them knew. Time stood still. Her hands moved down to his face. They lingered on his cheeks, then slowly moved to his perfectly defined jawline. She gently rubbed her thumb up and down his stubble, while his were in her hair.

"We should get back," Puck said sadly, wanting to stay in that moment forever.

This was the first time Quinn had felt so close to someone. The thought made her laugh; she only met this guy less than a week ago. But if she could've, she would've spent the whole night in the storage cupboard with the bartender in front of her. There was so little she knew about him, so why did she feel so comfortable around him?

"So, I'll call you?" Puck quietly said to Quinn as the glee club were ready to leave.

"Yeah, I'd like that," Her smile took over her face.

"C'mon Quinn!" Santana sang from the door. Quinn dorkily waved to Puck, then skipped to the door to her friends.

"You coming with us to breadstix?" Mercedes asked as they all gathered on the street.

"Nah, I think I'm just gonna head back."

"And wait by the phone?" Rachel asked grumpily, folding her arms.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means, I know about you and the creepy bartender. Everyone does, you're not the most subtle person in the world Quinn!"

"Ok, so I'm friends with 'the bartender', big deal." Quinn used her fingers to air quote around the words, and could've easily walked away from the situation, but she needed to know why Rachel was so bothered by this.

"Oh, I think you're more than friends, Quinn."

"Even if I was, which I'm not, what's it got to do with you anyway?"

"What's it got to do with me? I'm only your friend who's got to deal with the mess when you wake up and realise he's taking advantage of you!" Quinn was getting angry now. She moved closer to Rachel, even more frustrated by her previous comment.

"He's not taking advantage of me. In fact, he's one of the only guys who actually isn't a jerk. And how can you think he would be taking advantage? And if he was, how would you know? Considering you haven't given a single moment out of your busy schedule to bother speaking to me recently!"

"You've known him five minutes and you already think you've got him sussed? Please, you don't think he uses the same nice guy act on every girl to get them into bed. And I bet it worked as well!"

"If you're thinking I've slept with him, just come right out with it, I don't care what you think. And not that it's any of your business, but no I haven't. And if he was trying to get me into bed, don't you think he'd do it when I was staying at his apartment? For a smart girl Rachel, you're acting awful dumb tonight." Quinn spat as she turned and started walking away.

"You're making a huge mistake Quinn!"

"Maybe I am. Maybe I'm gonna end up heartbroken. You don't think I've thought this through? I've tried my hardest to think about other things, or other guys, but I can't. Ok? Is that what you wanted to hear? I could be totally wrong about this guy. You could be right and he could just be playing me. But something deep inside of me is telling me he's different. This scares the hell out of me, Rachel. Being this vulnerable; I hate it. But I can't get this guy out of my head. And something's telling me that even if it causes me heartache, it'll be worth it." Quinn had never been so passionate, but she had to come out with it. And finally saying it out loud, felt good. "So I don't need your acceptance or blessing, and don't worry, no matter how much pain I'm in at the end of this, I'll be sure not to bother you."

"Quinn," Mercedes started, but Quinn didn't listen, she just walked home, trying to get her head round something so simple, that felt so complex.
