They walked cautiously through the halls of McKinley, carefully dodging the classroom and staying well away from Principal Figgins' office. Quinn remained confused, and every time she began to ask him what was going on, he shushed her, worried that someone would see them.
It was 2:30PM and all classes were in progress. Puck walked confidently down the corridor, occasionally waiting for the odd student to clear out of sight before they moved on.
"What're we doing here?" Quinn finally asked, after looking round and noticing that no-one was nearby. Puck eventually pulled her into the choir room and shut the door behind them.
"I needed somewhere with a piano," He said. She stood, still bewildered, while he took a seat by the piano and began playing. She rested her elbows on the end of the piano and simply watched him play, something she could've done for hours.
The day I first met you
You told me you'd never fall in love
But now that I get you
I know fear is what it really was
Now here we are
So close yet so far
Haven't I passed the test
When will you realize
Baby, I'm not like the rest
Don't wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to wait, to waste
So let me give your heart a break, give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break, your heart a break
Oh yeah, yeahOn Sunday you went home alone
There were tears in your eyes
I called your cell phone, my love
But you did not reply
Brad came wandering in the room, hearing his silent plea of help. Puck stopped singing, but carried on playing for several seconds, wondering why Brad had approached him. Brad, still silently, shared the seat with Puck and began continuing the playing of the song, showing he knew it. Puck shrugged slightly, then stood up and began singing.. He slid over to Quinn and once next to her, held out his hand.
The world is ours if we want it
We can take it if you just take my hand
There's no turning back now
Baby, try to understand
She hesitated slightly before reaching her delicate hands to reach his, where he pulled her close and kept hold of her left hand, and gently placed her right hand on his shoulder.
Don't wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to wait, to waste
So let me give your heart a break, give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break, your heart a break
They twirled around the room, together as one. And for the first time, Quinn had felt that someone had genuinely understood what she was going through.
There's just so much you can take
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break, your heart a break
Oh yeah, yeahWhen your lips are on my lips
And our hearts beat as one
They gently slowed down the twirling, and true to the lyrics, could hear their hearts beating in time.
But you slip out of my fingertips
Every time you run, whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh
Don't wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to wait, to waste
So let me give your heart a break
(Let me give your heart a break)'Cause you've been hurt before
I can see it in your eyes
You try to smile it away, some things you can't disguise
Don't wanna break your heart
Maybe, I can ease the ache, the ache
So let me give your heart a break, give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break, your heart a break
There's just so much you can take
Give your heart a break
Let me give your heart a break, your heart a break
Oh yeah, yeahThe day I first met you
You told me you'd never fall in love
His chest rose and fell continually while he panted, but still held her. She rested her head on his chest, and for the first time in a while, she thought the things in her life might actually fall into place.
