I realize that she broke AJ's heart and you will see what I mean when I labeled this an 'M', but keep in mind that Elizabeth was doing her best to gently let AJ down. There's nothing wrong with being an AJ fan because I liked him as well. I didn't appreciate what the writers did to him, but I still like him...when he's nice that is. If I can't have Quiz, my next couple with Elizabeth is Niz.

ilovedana53: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the update. You are right that AJ is a jack*** and that will become clear in the next update. Being there is strong language in Chapter 8, it will be rated 'M'. You will definitely see a different side of AJ and Nikolas of course being Elizabeth's knight in shining armor.

reina13: Thanks for the review. Yep, Elizabeth finally confessed to AJ how she felt towards Nikolas. AJ's reaction may or may not shock you depending on how you see him on the show/other stories on the site.

Becca1: Thanks for the review. It put a big smile on my face when I read your review. lol. It means a lot that you enjoy this story and I appreciate you taking the time to review the updates. I am curious what you will think of AJ's reaction to Elizabeth's confession. I almost didn't put Nikolas in the next update because there was alot of Quiz in it and wasn't sure if he would fit in the chapter, but I promised you and everyone else Nikolas would be in it and being it's a 'Niz' story, I would have felt bad if he wasn't in there, so I was able to put him in there. Hope you enjoy the scene. I agree with you that I wish Elizabeth was on more. It saddens me she's not on more or doesn't have a true storyline of her own considering she's been on the show since the late 90's. She will forever be my favorite female character on the show. I enjoyed Spixie as well. They were quite humorous, especially Spinelli's interesting personality. I have other Niz stories in mind, but due to the amount of stories I currently have going, I prefer to just have this one going. I appreciate you taking the time to read ALL my stories as you put it. haha. It means so much that you enjoy my writing/my stories and that you think I'm a great writer. Chapter 8

(AJ Quartermaine knew the answer to Elizabeth's confession before she even gave it, but it did not make the answer hurt any less. He loved the woman standing before him and to say he was pissed off on what she said was a major understatement. He knew Nikolas Cassadine had no problems coming between women that were spoken for, women that were taken, but even he couldn't help but be a little taken aback by the prince's declaration of love)

(AJ has always felt Nikolas Cassadine was a greedy bastard. Hell, if Nikolas was willing to come between his own brothers' relationships with his former fiancé, who knew the steps Cassadine was prepared to do. Truth be told, AJ knew he should've known better than to try be civil with his enemy because now it was quite clear Nikolas Cassadine didn't give a fuck who the hell he hurt as long as he got what he wanted, and what he has always wanted was the woman of AJ's dreams)

(AJ vowed he would never lose another woman he cared about. He's cared for many women in the past, but the day he met Elizabeth Webber, he always felt she was meant to come into his life. Even though he wasn't blood related to Cameron and Aiden, he loved the two boys like his own. But even he couldn't ignore the young boys' enthusiasm for their uncle. AJ couldn't figure out what the hell made Nikolas Cassadine so fucking special. Sure, he had money and lots of it, but so did AJ. Sure, Nikolas had a son, but so did AJ. AJ had Michael. Nikolas and AJ both had a house, a mansion. The only thing AJ could think of was that Elizabeth didn't always appreciate his offer to help her with things. He would never force her to do anything she didn't want to do, but he always prided himself on trying to help others. Well, apparently Elizabeth didn't need his help. He didn't know exactly if she accepted Nikolas' help, but he wouldn't be surprised if she did)

(As much as AJ didn't want to admit it, he always knew his enemy and his girlfriend had a special bond, one that nobody could ever break. Well, AJ was bound and determined to finally break that bond. If he had to hurt the prince, then so be it. He didn't care if he had to beat the shit out of Nikolas Cassadine or worse, AJ would make damn sure Nikolas knew where his place was and it was NOT with his woman. AJ knew after he made this clear that Elizabeth would realize that she loved AJ too, and wanted to be with him, not Cassadine. And as a matter of fact, AJ had the perfect plan on how to accomplish that)

(AJ studies Elizabeth's facial expressions and he could tell that she felt brave by her confession. He figured she was done 'denying' her feelings for the prince. He scoffs as he thought to himself. What feelings could she possible have for Nikolas? Feelings that the asshole drilled into her head? AJ has been noticing from the sidelines a little on the way the jerk has been looking at her and his facial expressions toward her as well. He was almost positive that the more Nikolas and Elizabeth talked, the more the neanderthal was making her feel things she wasn't sure she felt)

(AJ scoffs as he shakes his head and walks in a circle, rubbing his chin with his hand as Elizabeth looks on. She didn't know what to say after her confession. He asked her how she felt about Nikolas and she told him. She knew it needed to be said, but she could tell AJ was trying to fight the rage that was building inside of him. She fidgets slightly before she looks at him and breaks the silence between them)

Liz: "The expression on your face tells me you knew what my answer would be."

(AJ scoffs in anger and tilts his head, shaking it as he paces back and forth between the wall and her couch, which is a walking distance)

AJ: "Yeah, you could say that."

(Elizabeth sighs and looks at him apologetically)

Liz: "AJ, look I'm sorry. I'm sorry -."

(AJ stops pacing and angrily interrupts her)

AJ: "Sorry for what, Elizabeth? Huh? For breaking my heart? For leading me on?" (raises his hands) "Or how about making me believe you felt something for me when all along you were fucking Nikolas Cassadine?"

(Elizabeth looks at him in shock at his choice of words he used and his questions. She didn't know where he was getting his so called information from)

Liz: (shakes her head) "No, AJ, I was not leading you on. I genuinely cared about you. And as for your choice of words, I was not fucking Nikolas Cassadine while you and I were dating." (scoffs) "I admit to kissing him that one time, but I never had sex with him." (spits out) "Although the sex part..." (scoffs lightly) "...that's more in your department." (raises her eyebrows) "Remember Carly? You remember her, don't you? The woman who you not only kissed at the Metro Court for the whole world to see knowing full well I was on my way to see you for lunch? But that you also screwed her the night I came to see you to make amends?"

(AJ looks at his girlfriend and knew she was right, but he was determined to prove his case as well so he wasn't the only one at fault)

AJ: (shrugs) "Yeah, I admit I slept with Carly." (shakes his head) "I'm not proud of it." (glares at her) "But for the record, she kissed me."

Liz: (laughs incredulously) "And that makes it okay?! AJ, you could have pulled back! I realize Carly isn't as small as me, but couldn't you have pulled back and told her 'no'?" (tilts her head) "You do know what 'no' means, right?"

AJ: (angrily) "Oh, come off it, Elizabeth! Yes, I know what 'no' means but I didn't see you confronting me about it! Why the hell didn't you ask me what was going on or at least hear my side?! Huh? I would have told you the truth! That Carly wanted me to help her with her plan. But no, you just ran out!"

(Elizabeth looks at him in shock. What the hell was he expecting of her? To run up to him and Carly and claim her prize? Her and AJ were just getting to know each other and yes, even though she probably should've confronted him, he broke her heart when he didn't stop the kiss. Elizabeth gets tears in her eyes as she tries to figure out how to respond to his outburst)

Liz: "You're right. I should have confronted you. I should have asked you what the hell was going on between you and Carly." (sniffles) "But you know what, AJ?" (tearfully) "I honestly couldn't. You hurt me so bad that day and while I should have done something, I didn't really feel like being the laughing stock of the room because it was quite clear where your mind was..." (shakes her head angrily) "...and it sure as hell was NOT on me."

(AJ closes his eyes as he looks down in shame. He rests his face into the palms of his hands and breathes softly. After about a minute or so, AJ looks up and sees her softly crying which makes him get tears in his eyes as well)

AJ: (sniffles) "I'm sorry. I wish you would have come to me that day because I would have explained everything."

(Elizabeth scoffs lightly as she turns her head before looking at AJ and tilts her head)

Liz: "You know damn well Carly wouldn't have let you tell me. I know her too well, AJ. More than I would like to, trust me. She would have guilted you or talked you into keeping quiet. It's what she does and unfortunately, you were willing. You told the truth in the end, but it's too little, too late."

(AJ stares at Elizabeth before finally speaking)

AJ: "It's been about him this entire time, hasn't it?" (shakes his head) "You never loved me." (scoffs lightly) "Not the way you loved him." (shakes his head) "The way you feel towards him, I'll never understand."

(Elizabeth closes her eyes as she shakes her head)

Liz: "Throughout our relationship, AJ, I have never slept with Nikolas. Did I ever want to?" (shakes her head & shrugs) "I honestly don't know. But to answer you, no, I never loved you...not the way I loved him." (sighs) "He's always held my heart. Even when I didn't realize it. I'm sorry if I ever hurt you but it was never my intention to lead you on if I ever did. If I did, I truly apologize."

(AJ shakes his head as he looks away from her)

AJ: "I'll bet he'll be happy when you tell him this...but I'm sure you've already told him." (shrugs smugly) "I'm sure you were with me until something better came along. With Lucky, it was Nikolas and with me, again it was Nikolas."

Liz: (sighs) "AJ, it was never my intention to hurt Lucky or you. Lucky and I...in the end...we fell out of love. But you and me, we were never in love."

AJ: (raises his eyebrows angrily) "Speak for yourself, Webber. I have loved you for a long time and was planning on telling you tonight after we ate." (scoffs) "Well, so much for that idea...but now you know I felt."

Liz: (sighs) "AJ, we haven't even been dating that long."

AJ: (glares at her) "Don't tell me how to feel, Elizabeth. I've always known how I feel towards you even if you never admitted how you feel." (raises his eyebrows) "I still believe we would've had a chance if your 'prince' wasn't in the picture."

Liz: "But he is, AJ. I love Nikolas and I have no intention of staying away from him." (shakes her head) "Not anymore."

AJ: (gritted teeth) "You'll regret this, Elizabeth. You will never be happy with him, not like you were with me."

(Elizabeth walks up to AJ with a determined look)

Liz: "I was never completely happy with you, AJ, and you damn well know it. If I was, then I never would've looked at Nikolas the way you say I did." (glares at him) "Now get the hell out. I don't want to see your face again."

AJ: (laughs incredulously) "Oh, trust me, honey, you will." (smugly) "I am not letting you..." (menacingly) "...never."

(Elizabeth looks at AJ in horror. She tries not to show her fear, but she's not doing a very good job at it. She swallows hard and has a hard time speaking as it feels like there's a lump in her throat. She gathers up all of her courage and looks at him right in the eyes)

Liz: "Get the fuck out of here before I call the cops."

(AJ and Elizabeth stare at each other for what felt like an eternity before AJ walks away from her and gathers his things, leaving the house. Elizabeth scaredly turns around and looks towards the door, seeing it halfway open as she realizes AJ didn't completely shut it. In a panic, she runs to the door and locks it before searching for her purse. After locating it, she digs out her cell phone and searches for Nikolas' number. She was trying hard not to freak out)

Liz: "Fuck, where is it?"

(She finally finds it and dials it, pressing 'call'. Nikolas answers it on the first ring)

Nikolas: "Elizabeth? How did it go with AJ? I know he was probably pissed off, but..."

(Nikolas can hear deep breathing on her end and gets worried. He presses the phone up to his ear and tries to remain calm for her)

Nikolas: "E-Eliz-Elizabeth? What-What happened?"

Liz: (swallows hard) "He...um...I've-I've never seen him like this, Nikolas. I-I don't..."

Nikolas: "Where is he? Is he still there?"

Liz: (shakes her head) "No, he's not. I know you probably want to find him, but can you please come here? I really need you."

Nikolas: (seriously) "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, baby. I love you and will protect you with my life. Lock your front door and don't answer it until I get there, okay?"

Liz: (nods) "Okay. The door is locked."

Nikolas: (nods) "Okay. I'm on my way. I love you."

Liz: (smiles a little) "I love you, too, Nikolas. Please hurry."

(They end the call as Elizabeth makes sure the front door is locked and tries to take her mind off of the night's events until Nikolas arrives)
